Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Review

Last week while I was in Sephora, I had the immense pleasure of experiencing Tom Ford’s latest fragrance, Grey Vetiver.

While I was in NYC last Spring, I also had the opportunity to experience his whole line of fragrances in Bergdorf Goodman and thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

I could tell that a great deal of thought, investigation, and passion went into his collection.

Tom Ford fragrances are extremely well-made.

The thing I especially enjoy about Grey Vetiver is that it’s fresh, clean, and crisp, yet also has an earthy quality. I think it could be worn within any season, as well as day or night.

I can honestly say that after spraying some on the top of my hand, I found myself sniffing it all day long. It truly is an alluring fragrance.

I happen to be a big fan of the essence vetiver, but what’s so unique about this fragrance is that the iconic vetiver note achieves it’s full potential with a construction of enhancing elements.

Top notes: orange flower, grapefruit, and aromatic sage lend freshness.

Middle notes: warm woods wrap and balance the top layer with orris, nutmeg, and pimiento.

Base notes: a wash of golden amber woods leads into a fascinating, rich dry down. Oak moss contributes a green and woodsy impression and completes the refined harmony that floats coolly onto the skin, simultaneously melting into the body's natural heat.

The frosted bottle includes a silver-toned cap and neck ring, and a palladium plague bearing the Tom Ford logo. The fluted carton's silver accents and borders hint at the character of the precious, pale juice within.

Price: $88.00 - 1.7 oz

Tom Ford's masterful rendition of the cool and intriguing possibilities of vetiver is the hallmark of a classic, sophisticated, unabashedly masculine man.

Grey Vetiver can be purchased at: Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Sephora.
