Review: Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder

With summertime quickly approaching, many people are beginning to think BRONZE.

About seven years ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to work for the cosmetic division of Guerlain, and one of the products which I found to stand way above most other cosmetic companies, is their bronzing powder, Terracotta.

The tricky thing about bronzing powder, is finding one that it’s not too orange, not too pink, or not too bronze.

I don’t know how they do it, but Guerlain has created the perfect natural-looking bronzing powder that suits all skin tones and skin types. It comes in five different shades, some of which have a slight shimmer and others a matte finish.

It is light and easy to apply. Its unique and silky-smooth texture leaves your complexion glowing and radiant. The formula is enriched with moisturizing agents that do not dry out the skin, ensuring long-lasting comfort.

And not only can this bronzing powder be used as an all-over color, but it can also be used as a blush and eye shadow as well.

As a makeup artist, I have found it to be one of the most versatile cosmetic products a woman can own.

The compact is extremely dense in powder, therefore, only having to be replaced once a year.

Price: $50.00

So if you’ve been searching for a super natural-looking bronzing powder, look no further than Guerlain’s Terracotta.

And enjoy the glow!

  1. I LOVE bronzing powder. Over the past two years, I've chucked the blusher and just wear the bronzer year round on my cheek bones. I think it looks very natural and much better than the pink and peach shades that most blushers come in. $46 is too steep for me though!

Excellent! It's much more natural-looking and versatile than using blush.

Yes, $46.00 is a bit steep, but I have to say that this bronzer will last a YEAR or MORE, and it TRULY is the best! They use to carry one for men, but discontinued it :(

I personally use one from NYC (Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder # 720A - Sunny). You can find it in any drug store and it's only $2.99!

  3. How funny, Ron! I use the NYC product too! But yeah, it sure doesn't last a year!

  4. OMG...how funny! It's GREAT bronzer, isn't it? And you can't beat the price of NYC, can you?

  5. I could kick myself for not reading this before I went shopping... I just left the Guerlain counter, dammit. Would it suit me, I wonder? Fair skin and greying hair always makes me think too much colour makes me look like a clown. Suggestions and advice please, Mister, before I head off to the shops again.

  6. Hey there Valerie~

Aw, shucks! Well, the next time you're by the Guerlain counter you HAVE to try/test this product because it is by far the BEST bronzer out there. In fact, I think I remember Pearl telling me that she uses this product too!

And yes, that's the great thing about his bronzing powder, they have several different shades that suit all skin tones - whether you're light or dark. And they all look totally natural.

It's a bit pricey, yes, but it lasts FOREVER. You probably only have to buy one of these once a year!

Let me know what you think when you try it.
