Chanel Foundation Review

Having been in the cosmetic industry for 26 years, I've been very blessed to work for one of the most gorgeous makeup lines in the business.

Every professional makeup artist has their own personal preference as to what cosmetics they enjoy working with the most. And although I have worked for several good quality cosmetic lines, the one I have the most passion for remains Chanel.

I remember when I first started out in the business; walking by the Chanel counter and thinking to myself, "One day I’m going to work for that company."

I spent 3 years as freelance makeup artist for Chanel, traveling to various stores as a special events artist, and then another 3 years as an in-house makeup artist for Saks Fifth Ave.

Chanel cosmetics have the most classic selection of color. The line is equally suited for women who enjoy a dramatic look, as well as women who prefer a more natural look. The pigment in their foundations, eye shadows and blushes are some of the best on the market.

Now I won’t lie to you…Chanel is also one of the most expensive lines in the industry. But for those of you who have a passion for makeup, it’s well worth it because it lasts.

One makeup tip that I always share with women is this...

“If you only want to spend the money on one item in your cosmetic wardrobe…let it be your foundation.”

A foundation is the most important item in your makeup wardrobe, because if it doesn't look completely natural and is not perfectly matched to your skin tone, then the rest of your makeup will not look polished.

A foundation is literally the “foundation” of your makeup.

Not only is the color selection varied in Chanel foundations, but they also feel absolutely weightless on the skin. The foundation actually becomes part of your skin so that it's invisible yet, gives complete coverage.

Chanel foundations come in liquid, crème, and powder formulations.

Chanel was the first cosmetic company to add “light diffusers” to their foundations, which helps give the appearance of flawless skin.

As a makeup artist I’ve use Chanel foundation for a professional photo shoot, as well as a wedding party. And in both cases…it suited perfectly.

So if you're looking for a new foundation, do yourself a favor and stop by the Chanel counter and try some.

Prices: $45.00-$65.00

  1. Thank you for your input!! I have been and still am looking for a great foundation. I used to use drug store brands but I realize if I want a flawlesslook and good skin I don't mind paying more money. Since you are a makeup artist I hope you can help. I have tried smashbox and Mac and wasn't really completely happy with them. I have combination skin and have some acne marks and scarring you think Chanel will work to cover the imperfections and last? And also does their foundation go on cakey or dry looking? Hope you can help!
