Review: Eight Product Recommendations For Dry, Winter Skin

*this is not a sponsored post

With winter finally in full swing, I thought I'd share some of my favorite skincare products. Traditionally my skin is pretty normal, however, during the colder winter months it tends to become very dry; particularly my hands, face, and lips.

Listed below are eight products I have found very helpful during this dry skin season:

#1 - First Aid Beauty  (F.A.B.)
Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration$30.00
*One of the greatest advantages of this product is that it can be used on the face and body. It is quickly absorbed, leaving no greasy residue. And not only is it helpful for dry skin, but also minor irritation or itching due to eczema. It barely has any scent at all.

#2 - First Aid Beauty (F.A.B.)
Ultra Repair Lip Therapy$12.00
*Ultra Repair Lip Therapy has been a miracle worker for me. I use it day and night. At night, right before I go to sleep, I apply a thick coating to my kisser. By morning my lips look and feel soft, moisturized and completely healed. I also use it during the day if I'm outside in the cold wind. This lip balm (like all F.A.B. products) is petroleum and paraben free.

#3 - First Aid Beauty (F.A.B.)
Vitamin Hydrating Mist $16.00
*This vitamin enriched hydrating spray is FAB-U-LOUS! With just a few spritzes before applying your moisturizer, your skin stays hydrated throughout the day. It is also an ideal setting spray for anyone who wears makeup.

#4 - Josie Maran
Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter $35.00
*This Argan oil enriched body butter is scrumptious. It is packed with luscious oils and whipped to a feather-light texture; sinking in instantly for super soft, hydrated skin. Comes in a variety of light, natural scents. Leaves no greasy residue.

#5 - belif
The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb$38.00
*Belif has a unique range of products that follow Korea's intricate skincare regimen. It is made with the purest of ingredients and powered by modern skin science and traditional herb processing methods. This gel-cream moisturizer is ideal for anyone with sensitive and/or super dry skin and desires a product that is light-weight and fast absorbing. It has no scent. And just like its name, this moisturizer is the BOMB!

#6 - Fresh
Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil - $50.00
* I started using this oil last year and instantly fell head-over-heels. During the summer I use it alone, however, during the winter I use it under my moisturizer (3-4 drops). Seaberry moisturizing face oil has made a huge difference in my skin's appearance (texture, tone and clarity), and gives my skin a natural, healthy glow. Not only do I use it on my face, but also my body, hair, and scalp. LOVE this stuff!

Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask - $7.50
*Right now sheet masks are the big craze. And to be honest, up until about two months ago I hadn't ever tried them. But I have to say, I can now see why they are so popular. They're easy to use, ideal for someone who travels a lot because they pack so well, and they are highly effective. This mask in particular is perfect for winter-woe dry skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and completely refreshed.
-Apply sheet to clean skin and leave on for 20-30 minutes-

#8 - Fresh
Seaberry Nourishing Hand Cream - $22.50
*My hands and cuticles get extremely dry and cracked during the winter months. I really like this hand cream because it's super moisturizing and healing without leaving a sticky residue. And just for the record, this hand cream also contains Seaberry oil. GRRREAT product!

So if you too are experiencing dry skin this winter season, I hope you find these products beneficial.

Enjoy!

And have a cozy-warm weekend everyone!

We don't get those brands over here, but boy are my hands dry!

  2. I have problems with the cracked cuticles in the winter as well. Thanks for the recommendations!

  3. Ron as you already know I'm a product junkie, so I love when you share these posts! I've tried a few different sheet mask brands but never Dr. Jart. I am a huge Fresh fan and use several of their products (Soy Cleanser and Rose Facial Spray). I will have to try the Seaberry Face oil you recommended.

One of my girlfriends uses a lot of First Aid Beauty products. Her skin is very sensitive so it seems to work great. The only thing I've ever tried was the lip balm and I agree, it's a miracle worker for dry lips.

Great post, Ron! I will check out these products the next time I'm shopping. Have a wonderful weekend x

  4. Ron, I can't thank you enough for sharing these products because right now I'm suffering from major dry skin. I'm normally dry, but the winter makes it worse. I will definitely search for the hand cream you recommended because my hands and cuticles are extremely dry and cracked. That seaberry oil sounds wonderful too!

Thanks again, Ron! Have a great weekend!

  5. Thank you for the tips! These companies should pay you for promoting their products! I've also found that food-grade almond oil is the best make up remover on the planet. It's also a great moisturizer without being greasy.

Tis the time of year for lots of moisturizers, that's for sure Ron.

I've been using Weleda a lot as I got a big goodie box of stuff from them for review purposes and also won a big gift basket of their stuff too, so I was very well stocked.

I also like Badger Rose Oil as it's completely organic. But I am always looking for new stuff to try, especially organic products. That is always my first choice.

Thanks for sharing these reviews Ron, I can tell you are passionate about these products, it comes through in your words! As Lady Fi has mentioned, probably not here in Canada but online at iHerbs or another site perhaps.

  7. Ron, I always enjoy your product recommendations, sponsored or not. Thank you for these winter-weather goodies -- they sound positively wonderful! I haven't heard of these lines -- perhaps we're just a bit behind-the-times in the Midwest?! -- but now I'll keep an eye out for them.

Isn't it amazing the things we learn from each other?? So far, we've had a fairly mild winter, but they're telling us to GET READY, the wicked stuff is right around the corner. Yuck, and I was hoping to avoid shoveling snow this season, ha!

    Happy weekend, dear! x

If you can find a Sephora store in your area, you may be able to find some of these products. I think Sephora is in Europe.

  9. You are so welcome! OMG...my hands (and cuticles) get sooooooo dry and cracked in the winter. I think it's also because I wash my hands a lot during the day when I'm at work, so I that has something to do with it as well as the winter cold.

Have a super weekend, my friend. And thanks a bunch for stopping by!

  10. Hola Denise!

Isn't Fresh the BEST? I use many of there skincare products and find them very effective. I also like the way they smell because they use essential oils in their products. You will LOVE the Seaberry face oil!

"One of my girlfriends uses a lot of First Aid Beauty products. Her skin is very sensitive so it seems to work great."

Yes, First Aid Beauty is especially good for people who have sensitive skin because they use very little fragrance and are gentle on the skin.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the lip balm! It's done wonders for my dry lips.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a fantastic weekend!

  12. Hellooooo there Lisa!

You are so welcome! In my product review posts, I try to share only the ones I have personally used on myself so that I can give honest feedback. I've had certain companies ask me to write reviews, but they were not products I particularly liked or would even use.

"I've also found that food-grade almond oil is the best make up remover on the planet. It's also a great moisturizer without being greasy."

Thanks so much for sharing that recommendation! I've not tried almond oil, but have used coconut oil and LOVED it!

Have a super weekend, my friend. And thanks so much for stopping by!

  13. Hey there Geraldine!

Yes, I've heard of both Weleda and Badger products and have used some of them and REALLY thought they were AWESOME! I too try to look for the more natural and organic products because they seem to work best on my skin and body.

" I can tell you are passionate about these products, it comes through in your words!"

Yes I am. It seems that I can only share and promote product I truly feel passionate about. It's also the way I am work. I will always show the products I truly love.

" probably not here in Canada but online at iHerbs or another site perhaps."

I'm not absolutely sure, but I do think many of these brand are sold in Canada. However, if you're interested in any of them, I'm sure you can find them online.

Have a spectacular weekend, my friend. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  14. You are so welcome, Debbie! I try share products I have personally used and found them to be positive. Many companies have contacted me to write reviews for them, but they were not products I particularly liked or would use.

You can find these products in a Sephora store in your area or perhaps online at Amazon.

"Isn't it amazing the things we learn from each other??"

Yes it is, and that's why I LOVE blogging because I've learned so much from other bloggers.

"we've had a fairly mild winter, but they're telling us to GET READY, the wicked stuff is right around the corner."

Same here! We've had a VERY mild winter so far, but I have a feeling it will be getting very cold and snowy soon. And being someone who loves winter, I can't wait :)

Have a terrific weekend, my friend. And thanks so much for stopping by!

  17. Ron, thank you for the product review and advice!
I have dry skin and a heck of a time finding something that actually works! I've spent so much money "trying" products! It's great to know there are some out there that do the trick!
Perhaps you can do a post one day on wrinkles, age spots and sagging. And not necessarily in that order! lol.
Keep warm. Winter has officially hit Pennsylvania. BRRRR!

  20. Hellooooooooo there Pam!

You are so welcome, my friend :) I hope you find these products helpful for your dry skin. Lately, my skin has been very dry, so I decided to share my top picks and recommend them to others.

Perhaps you can do a post one day on wrinkles, age spots and sagging. And not necessarily in that order! lol."

HAHAHAHAHA! But hey, that's actually great topic for a future post, so thanks for giving me idea.

OMG, you are so right....winter has officially hit PA. I can't get over how cold it was today. Yet I'm not complaining because (as you know) I LOVE the WINTER. I hear we might even get some snow this week. Yahoooooo!

  21. OK... help me out. What should I get for 1. horrible dry cracked old lady hands and 2. for my stinking neck wrinkles!!! Do you have any suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes Katherine, try the First Aid Beauty moisturizer I mentioned in this post. It's very inexpensive and VERY, VERY good for dry hands. It is also great as a face moisturizer as well. I LOVE that stuff because it's incredibly moisturizing and healing, but doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy.

    You'll LOVE it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend!
