Post updates by email:

I would like to share something I've been doing for the past six months in the hopes that it helps anyone else who might be feeling overwhelmed by what's been going on in the world lately.

Now, more than ever, we need to see love and spread love.

This is not a post about politics because I no longer have any faith in politics. All anyone has to do is stand back and observe the current political landscape, and you will see that it has nothing to do with us; it only has to do with them. However, I've been using our political landscape to notice the difference between what is true and what is false. As well as the difference between what is being projected onto us, versus what we actually are. For as much as the landscape is intentionally trying to separate us, it's had the opposite effect on me. It has allowed me to see just how truly united we are.

LOVE-

For as long as I can remember, I have always felt loved.

And for as long as I can remember, I have always felt blessed and wealthy.

However, the kind of love and wealth I'm referring to has nothing to do with idealistic romantic love, or how much money I have. It has to do with a feeling that I have always felt, and continue to feel deep inside.

I feel it as grace. A grace that abundantly flows through me. But I'm no different, or more special than anyone else because I think grace flows through all of us. It's only a matter of noticing it. And the more you notice it, the more grace flows.

I also believe that grace can be shared from one person to another. And I feel that way about love as well.

Therefore, what I've been doing lately, is making a daily conscious choice upon waking in the morning, to share the grace in my life with everyone I come in contact with throughout my day. Whether it be the people I walk past on the streets; the people at Trader Joe's; clients I assist in my job; and even the people I see sitting in our city parks. I take a few seconds and send out grace and love to them through my heart. And whenever I do that, I can actually feel my heart expand.

And what I've noticed, particularly over the past few months, is that when I'm at work and assisting a client, they will very often say to me after I finish helping them that they feel so much better than before they came into the store. Some will even say that they were having a bad day, but feel completely different now. I even had a woman ask if she could hug me before she left. And I said, "Yes...you sure can!" And we hugged each other.

So, you see, I very much believe that we are all connected to one another through threads of grace and love.

So why not share them?

And live united

------------------------------

In closing, I leave you with a three-minute video I created using a song that touches my heart. It's a song from 1965 that actually has more meaning for me now, than it did back then. For the past several weeks, I've been hearing this song go through my head over and over again. It even kept popping up on YouTube, as if desperately trying to get my attention. So I decided to make this video. The photographs you'll see I found online; selecting the ones that, for me, most exemplified love, grace, and our true human nature.

Please enjoy...

Love 💗 to you all!

  1. Love, all we need is love. To me love of humankind takes on a whole new meaning, other than physical love...it's giving oneself to others by compassion, truthfulness, even if it's just a smile and a hello to anyone. And, yes, the political landscape world wide is disaster!!

Ron, another song comes to mind...what the world needs now is LOVE sweet Love!!!

YES! Anni, I LOVE how you expressed that because it's SO true! And that's exactly what I've been trying to do everyday. Simple things yet, things that help all of us feel connected and united. And I honestly believe that that is how we can bring about change is what's happening in the world, worldwide.

Thanks so much for stopping by and adding to this post, my friend. Muchly appreciate it! Have great rest of your week!

  3. Love this, Ron! You have such positive energy and it flows to everyone around you. I am not surprised about the client asking you for a hug because I’m sure she was comforted and lifted up by your spirit. We need more Ron’s in this world! Present day society is a mess, thanks to our two party system that is meant to divide. I’m over all of it. Remember that old saying, ‘Live and Let Live’? Why can’t people just do that, instead of trashing and tearing down everyone who doesn’t believe what they believe or agree with them? The complete lack of empathy is appalling to me!!!

Speaking of which, I’ve read a few articles that say that those who read novels have more empathy because they are used to putting themselves in the shoes of someone else when they read. Isn’t that interesting? I LOVE to read fiction, so maybe that’s why I feel I’m able to listen and empathize with people I don’t necessarily agree with. Though NOT people who are nasty about it with their negativity. That’s when I use my boundaries! And why I made that PSA on my blog.

Thanks for sharing your love with all of us, Ron. You are heard and loved! XO

    And live united." Amen, Ron!

Your video made me both smile and tear up. It's beautiful. One of my favorite movies is 'My Best Friend's Wedding', which featured that song. And I agree, it takes on a much bigger meaning now, than it did back then.

Thank your for sharing this, Ron. Muchly needed. xxxx

P.S. one of my favorite photos in your video was the elderly couple kissing. SO sweet!

  5. Thank you for your sweet words, my friend. I feel as though people give me so much love; therefore, I have so much love to give back and share. And that makes me feel so incredibly blessed and wealthy.

"Remember that old saying, ‘Live and Let Live’?"

Yes I do, and I TOTALLY agree! And it's ironic you mentioned that because I was watching an old episode of "The Dick Cavett Show" in which two of his guests were in disagreement on a topic. And yet, they disagreed with such decorum that you could hardly tell that they were disagreeing. GOD, how I miss those days! Nowadays on talk shows, everyone SCREAMS at each other in disagreement. It's as if you can't have a different opinion without someone accusing you of being a bigot.

And OH MY GOD, I freaking LOVE what you shared about those who read novels (fiction) because it makes perfect sense to me now that you said it. YES..I can so see that! And I need to start reading novels again because I can't even remember the last time I read one. Back in the 80's and 90's I read nothing but Danielle Steel, Mary Higgins Clark, and Sidney Sheldon. Loved them!

"Though NOT people who are nasty about it with their negativity. That’s when I use my boundaries! And why I made that PSA on my blog."

Good for you! And I admire you for setting boundaries on people who are nasty and spread nothing but negativity.

Thanks so much for stopping by. You are heard and loved too!!! XO

  6. Hey there Candice!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are spot on about My Best Friend's Wedding, the song was definitely featured in that movie. And I remember exactly which scene it was highlighted in! Btw, I just recently watched that movie again. What a great film!!! I always forget how much I love it.

Isn't he elderly couple kissing ADORABLE? I love the expression on their faces!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Candice. Have a great day and rest of your week!

  7. Ron, I LOVE your story about the hugging customer! What a generous soul you are! Ever since COVID became a thing (and honestly, even before that, I imagine), people have pulled away from each other. Call it differences of opinion, fear, mistrust, or whatever, there's been a divide that's been taking place. And it's ever so sad.

We've got old people living alone in nursing home, little kids that teachers can't console because of fear, co-workers having a bad day but unable to express it. All too sad. You, my friend, are brightening up your small corner of the world, and I commend you for it -- we need more people like you, willing to reach out to their fellow humans, offering a smile, a hug, or a kind word!

And you know what? I'll bet this new habit of yours is becoming easier and rewarding you in ways you never dreamed possible, too, right?? I'm on board -- I've long believed that, when somebody is frowning, you should give them one of your smiles. It might be the only smile they see all day!! Keep it up, my friend! xx

  8. Helloooooooo there, Debbie!

Yes, I agree with your observation about people pulling away from each other before AND after COVID because I noticed the same thing. And it is sad, truly. I'm someone who respects other people's boundaries, so I won't hug or kiss someone if I can tell they might not be open to it. However, I'm ITALIAN for god's sake, so I am very physically affectionate with people who I love. Therefore, when the customer asked if she could hug me, I immediately said, "YES!!!" I don't know why, but I've never feared COVID; even at the start, so if someone wants to hug me, so be it. That's the thing I missed most when COVID hit, physical human contact.

Thank you so much for your sweet, kind words. I truly feel so blessed because I have forever felt loved and graced, so I'm merely sharing the love and grace with others in my day to day life. I think of it as "sharing energy" with others. And yes, it is rewarding because I can actually see how its affecting the people I come in contact with.

I don't thing I have ever before felt the need to help unite people as much as I do now.

    And this is my contribution.

Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a GREAT rest of your week with Domer and Monkey.

    X to you all!

  9. Ron, Ron, Ron, this post went straight to my heart! And oh how MUCH it was needed, with all the tension going on in the world. I stopped watching the news because it would make me so depressed and feel completely helpless. And you're right about everything you said about the political landscape. It's a disaster.

I LOVE your attitude and insight about focusing on the things that unite us and sharing grace.

I bet your clients at work love you. Like your other reader said in their comment, you have such positive energy and it just automatically flows to others. I've never met you, but I can feel your positive energy through your posts.

The video was so sweet and heartfelt. I watched it several times. And the song you selected to go with the images was perfect.

Thank you for sharing your spirit, Ron. I plan on sending this video to several people I know.

  10. Hey there, Daniel!

Thank you, and I'm so happy to know that you enjoyed it. I kept feeling the need to do something helpful and positive because of all the negativity and darkness going on. I truly believe that light is more powerful than darkness, so I'm making an effort share a lot of light, love, and grace.

I too have stopped watching the news. It's been almost SIX months since I watched any news program. The only time I see anything on the news is when I go to my Yahoo email account, where it's plastered all over the home page. But other than that, I don't watch ANY news whatsoever.

Don't you just love that song? OMG, I remember first hearing it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the 60's, when I was still a kid, not over imagining that I'd be using it NOW. Like I said, the song effects me more now than it did then.

Always a delight to see your comments, Daniel. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific rest of your week!

  11. Ron, My husband and I were talking to some friends last week and we all said that this country is no longer called the UNITED States of America because of all the division, which has been (intenionally) cause by politics for political gain. Sad.

Being that you and I grew up during the same era, I am very familiar with Jackie DeShannon's song. And it was the perfect song to go along with the photographs. And oh, what a beautiful video!! I bookmarked it on YouTube so that I can go back and watch it again and again, whenever I need a lift.

And bless you for your positive attitude, sir. It's very hard right now to stay positive and upbeat, so I'm sure your clients at work appreciate you. I bet they even stop by the store just to see you for a lift!

Thank you, Ron. You're beautiful spirit is needed right bow. xox

  12. Ron, wanted to mention something in my last comment, but forgot. I noticed what you are currently watching (Only Murders in the Building) and wanted to say that I'm watching it too. And I was so happy to see that they started the second season. LOVE that show! Brilliant in so many ways!

  13. BRILLIANT indeed, Daniel!!! OMG...I was so freaking happy when season two started. I didn't even know about the show until I accidentally found it on Hulu after the first season had already been aired. I was immediately addicted! Great script, great cast (Selena Gomez is sooooooooo good), and I also love the opening credit graphics. So cleverly done!

  14. Hellooooooooooo there, Elaine!

Ditto on your first sentence. I feel the same.

"Being that you and I grew up during the same era, I am very familiar with Jackie DeShannon's song. And it was the perfect song to go along with the photographs."

HA! Don't you just love that song? And after hearing it again, I went back and searched for other popular songs that she launched, such as, "Put a Little Love in your Heart." I also discovered her website, in case you're interested.

Right now, I think it's so beneficial for all of us to stay focused on all the GOOD in this world and how much we are naturally united. And I find in doing that, I feel stronger and more upbeat and positive. We can no longer rely on politics to do that, we have to do it ourselves.

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor! And have a faaaaaaaabulous rest of your week!

  15. Such a timely post, Ron! I've been going through a period of feeling very depressed about the state of the world, however, your words lifted my spirit tremendously. So, thank you! What you said about sharing our grace with others is so true. I think we are at a point in our country where it's up to US take back our power and create a place of united and love. And that's not to say that things will always be perfect. But we need to create the world we want to live in.

Your video was so beautiful. I sent it to several friends and family members. They texted me back and said they loved it.

    Thank you, Ron! x

  16. Greetings, Clair!

I freaking LOVE what you said here because I've been feeling the same way...

"I think we are at a point in our country where it's up to US take back our power and create a place of united and love. And that's not to say that things will always be perfect. But we need to create the world we want to live in."

,,,yes, you're 100% right. We do need to create the world we want to live in by taking our power back and focusing on UNITY, versus not what is being projected onto us.

Glad they enjoyed it. And I'm also glad that you felt lifted because that was my intention.

Always great to see your comments, Clair. Have a faaaaaaaaabulous weekend!

  17. Ron, I always enjoy all of your post, but I especially enjoy the posts in which you share what you've learned about life. So inspirational! You're right, now more than ever we need to unite and spread love, because the political landscape is doing everything in its power to segregate and cause friction. Never have I seen this country more divided.

Beautiful video! The photos you selected look as though they were made for the song, and vice versa.

Thanks for sharing this today, dude. Muchly needed.

  18. "So, you see, I very much believe that we are all connected to one another through threads of grace and love."

Ron, I'm going to start doing the same thing by setting an intention in the morning to share grace and love throughout the day. What a great idea!

"the difference between what is true and what is false. As well as the difference between what is being projected onto us, versus what we actually are."

That's so true! We are being told what we think and feel. And much of the country believes it, without even filtering it through their own consciousness to see what is true and false for them.

You did such a beautiful job putting the video together. It brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you for sharing this, Ron! It lifted my spirit and gave me hope. xo

  19. Hiya Matt!

    Thank you! :)

"...because the political landscape is doing everything in its power to segregate and cause friction. Never have I seen this country more divided."

YUP! And I agree, never ever have I seen this country more divided. It's gotten to the point where I don't recognize America anymore. That's why I've decided to take matters into my own hands and spread positivity, love, and grace.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Matt. Hope you're enjoying a faaaaaaaabulous week!

  20. Hola Denise!

I'll tell you, doing that every morning has help me tremendously to remain positive at this time in our history. It's also helped me to feel as though I can contribute something for the betterment of he world. I believe we are all made of energy, therefore, we can help each other by sharing our energy with others. And I truly believe that.

Yes! I think with all the projection that is going on, many people have forgotten how they think and what they feel.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a terrific week!

  21. Not sure why/how I missed this post but I really enjoyed it. And, agree with it whole heartedly. Our political landscape is a dumpster fire right now. I hope someday soon, cooler heads will prevail and some common ground can be reached between the parties in power. Grace is something I am thankful for every day. I've been the recipient of your grace and it both humbled me and opened my eyes. I thanked you for it and have never forgotten. Kindness is contagious and we need more of that kind of virus! X

  22. Hi there, Lisa!

I'm curious, did you leave a comment on the post after this one? It's the post about tanning. And the reason I ask is because I'm wondering if your comments are not being published. Sometimes Disqus gets weird and randomly eats comments. Anyway, let me know. I checked my comment spam box and I didn't find any of your comments there.

"Our political landscape is a dumpster fire right now. I hope someday soon, cooler heads will prevail and some common ground can be reached between the parties in power. "

I haven't sat down and watched the news in over 5 months. The only time I see anything about what's going on is when I log onto my yahoo mail account, where there are TONS of media stories plastered all over the home page. And just from the headlines, I can tell it's all about manipulation.

"Kindness is contagious and we need more of that kind of virus!"

    LOVED that! And sooooooooooo true!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Lisa. Hope you're having a fabulous week!
