I hear you though and hope for the residents and business owners that more can be done. Ron told me he heard the tailgating parties were starting many hours earlier than they usually do. More drinking! I noticed when he was watching interviews with various people in the crowds that there seemed to be quite a few police, and heard of some arrests afterwards, but they'll need to increase that for the SB. Be safe! xoMaryhttp://www.roamingwithmary.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092603952139807812.post-75529270247587729272023-02-01T09:50:11.218-05:002023-02-01T09:50:11.218-05:00Yup, I knew you'd be happy they won; being tha...Yup, I knew you'd be happy they won; being that you're such a Philadelphia fan!

"We know about the reputation for bad behavior, but luckily no one I know would ever be that rowdy or destructive. But I guess when you mix alcohol and watching a violent sport, the potential is there for 'other' fans to be bad. "

The destruction this year was probably the worst I've ever seen it. The next morning when I was walking to Trader Joe's, the streets looked as though we had been invaded by terrorists. Yes...it was THAT bad. In fact, this is the first year that other Philadelphians were complaining that our mayor needs to do something about these fans because they are tired of all the destruction and riots. They are also fearful of what they'll do if they win the Super Bowl this year.

You see, Mary, it's different you sitting at home watching it on TV and laughing. But I have to see it in person and wake up to it the next morning. I also have to fear going outside during their celebration because they are so violent.

My question to these people is this..."Why when you WIN do you act this way?" I think a lot of Philadelphians want to know that because they are sick of it.

"Just wish we were having winter so I could enjoy them more. LOL"

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee too! The EAGLES are going to the SUPERBOWL!!!! ...YAY!!! The EAGLES are going to the SUPERBOWL!!!! E A G L E S Eagles!!! Now watch me climb up that greased pole! haha I laugh when seeing fans doing it. It's not a deterrent, it's a challenge. LOL My family (not so much me... I was watching Gilligan Island episodes on t.v. during the championship game) are fans of the Philly teams, especially football. We know about the reputation for bad behavior, but luckily no one I know would ever be that rowdy or destructive. But I guess when you mix alcohol and watching a violent sport, the potential is there for 'other' fans to be bad. LOL
I love your loves! Totally need to up my supplements again. Have to watch how many I take and when, or my tummy acts up, but some of them are really good! I was deficient in D a while back and was taking both D3/K2.
Soup is probably my favorite thing to make. Just wish we were having winter so I could enjoy them more. Not unless I'm waiting for a call about something important.

HA! You're right, I should have handed him a Tic-Tac...EXTRA-strength! I love to be scared, but not gory scared. When Harry Met Sally is my favorite romantic comedy.

Montauk Point, NY -- OMG, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Montauk Point!!!!! It's like they're emotionally handicapped.

And you're right, many people don't have a sense of boundaries or privacy while on their phones. Cell phone are such a convenient and awesome invention, however, their usage has gotten addictive.

OMG...I could eat basil alone too. If I had to choose just one herb, it would be basil. Not only the taste, but the heavenly smell. Call ID is another awesome invention. I remember when it was first introduced to phone services. I loved it. I don't get many spam calls on my cell phone because I don't use give out my cell phone number all the time. When it comes to business stuff, I use my landline phone number. It's one thing to love your teams and celebrate their victories, but it's something else to destroy a city over a WIN. That's just insane.

I agree with you about the lack of cell phone etiquette. There is none. What I can't stand is how people feel that's it okay to have outright personal arguments while other people are all around them. It's like people have no sense of boundaries or privacy. Everything is just out in the open.

I love herbs too. My favorite is basil. I could literally each it alone. I also love avocado. I love an ice cold beer during the summer months. I love the invention of caller ID because I hate answering the phone if I don't recognize the number. Which leads me to, I had spam calls.

I don't like high-pitch noises. Drives me crazy. And I also don't like country western music.

But I'll end on a love note - I love your blog, dude!Mattnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092603952139807812.post-17436180764070967722023-01-26T09:35:00.480-05:002023-01-26T09:35:00.480-05:00Helloooooooooooo there, Elaine!

Blogging makes me so happy, and finding bloggers who are so kind and loving only adds to the experience. šā¤ļø

Every single one of your preferences I appreciate as well.
I've been taking magnesium for migraines since 2020 and had no idea how much it was helping me with other things...like sleep AND winter depression. I am a firm believer in vitamins and supplements.
Soups and salads are also favorites of mine. Soups are especially delicious this time of year.
I absolutely love the smells of fresh herbs. It's one of my favorite fragrances.
I also enjoy being of service to others. That, I believe, is why we are here on this planet.

I completely understand your dislikes!
I truly hate it when my clothes come out staticky from the dryer. I'm currently using wool balls, but even they can't always keep the static away.
I've been in many public places where people are on their phones, and I'm not sure why they consider it appropriate.
I've worked in retail for the majority of my life, and I can't stand rude customer service/retail interactions.
I don't like sports, so I'm not sure why sports fans act this way. Adult humans are paid millions of dollars to play with a ball, in most cases. Why are the fans taking it so personally? š¤£
I also hate clowns. Adding that to my next list...

Have a wonderful week, my friend. Circuses have a weird energy. That is except for Cirque du Soleil. They are amazing!

OMG, do you remember eight-track tapes?!?! They were short-lived. And thank god. They were too big to store, and they made a *click* sound in the middle of a song!

"I found your discussion of supplements interesting. I, too, prefer to take charge of my health by eating right and taking vitamins, rather than waiting to get sick and being loaded up with pharmaceuticals. The side effects of drugs just aren't pleasant for me."

I do believe that medicine does have it's place. However, I've always sensed, since I was a kid, that things like supplements and more natural things were better for my own body. And also eating well. I find that when I listen to my body, it tells what and what not to do. And I've met many medical doctors who feel as I do.

There is no way in HELL I could do gluten-free. And speaking of pasta, I made some last night for dinner. linguine with a red sauce, tons of garlic, basil, oregano, and olive oil. I also added fresh green beans that I steamed and sprinkled in some thinly sliced raw almonds. It was HEAVENLY!

Yes, PLEASE send some snow. We haven't had so much as ONE flake yet. Glad you enjoyed! I ...Helloooooooooooooo there, D!

Glad you enjoyed! I got my inspiration from Bijoux and Kari after I read their posts. I thought, "Why not give it a go?"

And OMG, even though I'm a vegetarian, your homemade chicken soup sounded BEYOND delicious! Chicken soup is one of those things that's perfect for whatever ails you. I used to eat it whenever I had a cold or flu and it hit the spot!

"There's nothing tastier for snacking than a charcuterie board with cheese, salami, prosciutto, olives, olive oil for dipping and freshly baked bread. Enjoying a glass of š·wine with it is better!"

YES, YES, YES to ALL of that! Nothing tastier is right! I could live off charcuterie boards for the rest of my life and be totally happy. And yes, you must eat the with WINE!

You're right, giving a compliment goes a long way and can really help someone have a better day.

Hasn't cell phone usage gotten so out of hand? People have forgotten that they can be HEARD while talking, so lower your voice. But people don't seem to care if everyone hears them.

Clowns are sooooooooooooooo scary!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your do's and don'ts. In fact, I had it positioned last on this post, but then I thought, "They've already heard about my INTENSE dislike for Hello Kitty throughout the years." So I took it off and added CLOWNS. However, I will do an I Hate Hello Kitty post on its on in the future. I promise!

Isn't zinc amazing? Especially for a cold or flu. You would die how much D3 I take. I take 20,000 IU's per day, but I take it with K2 (95 mcg) because in all my research, all the doctors and nutritionists said that it must be taken with D3 because it directs the D3 where it needs to go, instead of going into the arteries and kidneys. WOW, I've never heard of anyone having a negative reaction to K2. It's good you stopped though. I take D3 and K2 with my lunch. In fact, I just took it while eating my avocado salad. I've been taking those two for the past 3 1/2 years and have not had any negative reaction. So far.

"...though I have a few herbs/seasonings I donāt like such as oregano, turmeric and tarragon. I actually hate those!"

I don't actually use turmeric in my food, rather I take it as my supplement. I don't think I would like the taste either. They actually put it in a lot of skincare products to reduce inflammation. And it works.

You and I should start our own "crappy customer service" blog. Between the two of us, we'd have a TON of posts. LOL!

I know, isn't it horrific about Philly sports fans? They are truly the worst in America. And what freaks me out is THAT is how the react when they WIN. And god forbid you say something to them. They'll physically assault you.

Thanks for stopping by, and again, thanks for the inspiration! You both hit upon likes/loves and dislikes I share as well. Here's a few, a couple that are food related:

I enjoy home cooking and adding fresh herbs does make everything better, Soups are a favorite here especially in winter months. My homemade chicken soup last week was perfect with a rotisserie chicken carcass. A plus is that we also enjoyed the chicken for several meals!

There's nothing tastier for snacking than a charcuterie board with cheese, salami, prosciutto, olives, olive oil for dipping and freshly baked bread. Enjoying a glass of š·wine with it is better!

The smell of freshly baked cookies is always a temptation, anything dark chocolate too.

Saying thanks to people whenever they have helped. I...I love this, but where is Hello Kitty?!? LMAO!

Iām taking Zinc right now because I have a massive sinus cold. First cold Iāve had since 2011! Can you believe that? I also take D3 but I halve the dose in the summer. I take Magnesium because I read it helps get rid of calcifications and since I started taking it, my mammograms have been clear!!! Very happy about that. I also do fish oil because my optometrist recommended it because I was suffering from Meibomian gland dysfunction and Iāve not have symptoms since. However, due to my recent diagnosis of osteoporosis, I tried adding K2 with my D3 and it was horrible! I was so nauseated. I even tested myself on multiple days, taking and not taking the K2 and only felt sick on the K2 days. And I was taking it after a big breakfast, so full stomach. Iām so disappointed. What time of day are you taking it? Iāve never had a reaction like that before.

Iām a big fan of all your other items, though I have a few herbs/seasonings I donāt like such as oregano, turmeric and tarragon. I actually hate those! Lemons are so refreshing, arenāt they? I love it on my avocado toast.

Thatās weird about the static issues on laundry. The dryer sheets work for me, but I will say iv3 tried all those different kinds of dryer balls (rubber, wool, etc.) and they donāt work AT ALL. Complete waste of money.

Iām with you on cell phone use and crappy customer service. Thatās horrific about Philly sports fans. Cleveland doesnāt have that issue because we never win anything. LOL! Ok, actually we did win the NBA championship in 2016 and the people I know who went to the parade downtown said it was quite peaceful, for the most part.

Thanks for the fun topic. Iām not going to XO you because Iām sickš¤£Bijouxhttp://Www.musingsfromtheburbs.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092603952139807812.post-29892082854800725912023-01-25T09:08:21.885-05:002023-01-25T09:08:21.885-05:00You're so right, Daniel, peanuts are the only ...You're so right, Daniel, peanuts are the only nut that is reasonably priced. And so many of things ...Anni, I LOVED your comment! And so many of things you love and don't like are my own!

"1. People that go out of their way with respect...I love seeing young folks sincerely helping the elders. (And, I've been a recipient)"

Isn't that WONDERFUL? And me too. I fell on the street one day several years ago because I slipped on glass spotlight that was in the pavement after it had rained. And this lovely young lady ran over to me and asked if I was okay and helped me up. What a sweetheart she was!

LOVE early morning hours as well!

"3. Around ANY town, I hate seeing yards with junk heaps of ratty cars, trash, old appliances, etc."

OMG, me too! And you see a lot of that here in Philly; particularly within the past three years.

"5. Yes, I know I'm a blogger, but social media such as Facebook, tik tok, and what seems destructive behavior coming from it."

I feel the same. God, how I miss the days when blogging was the primary (and most used) form of social media, in which it was all about quality, not quantity.

Again, thanks for your comment, my friend. Muchly enjoyed!

XRonhttp://www.triloquist.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092603952139807812.post-69689250950063278772023-01-25T08:45:10.333-05:002023-01-25T08:45:10.333-05:00Hola, Denise!
"Why doesn't the city (you...Hola, Denise!

"Why doesn't the city (your mayor) do something about it? "

Good question. I often ask myself the same thing. Philadelphia is a city in which everything is okay. They make rules but no one has to follow them. People can do whatever they wish and nothing is said about it. I said this before in other posts, Philly is an enabling and encouraging city for poor behavior. And I'm the only native Philadelphian who will tell you that.

"What is your favorite cheese? Mine is (are) cheddar, parmesan, swiss and feta."

My faves are a lot of yours! But I think if I had to choose one, it would be feta. But I also love and worship Parmigiano Reggiano. I love it on pasta!

Celery is the BOMB! I like dipping it into various dips while sipping my evening glass of wine.

" I don't love how anyone can become famous on social media just because they have 155K followers."

HA! Yes! And once they reach 155K followers, they become an "influencer!"

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, girl. Have a faaaaaaabulous rest of your week!

XRonhttp://www.triloquist.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092603952139807812.post-37856846168116207542023-01-25T08:36:49.660-05:002023-01-25T08:36:49.660-05:00I will begin with things I love...

A good page turner (book). I just haven't found one in so long, it's maddening. LOL
3. Hearing a child giggle!!
4. I love walking in the early hours by myself in peace and quiet, hearing only the sound of the surf and birds singing. Watching the sun rise & colors of the sky change in front of me.
5. An exceptional tasting meal at a posh restaurant, with service beyond protocol.

Things I don't like...
1. Driving at a good speed & then someone cutting me off going UNDER my speed where I have to brake to avoid hitting them. (I've been tempted!!!)
2. The "F" word. In books, in movies, in life.... it's so gross & crude.
3. Around ANY town, I hate seeing yards with junk heaps of ratty cars, trash, old appliances, etc.
4. Prices of eggs!!!
5. Yes, I know I'm a blogger, but social media such as Facebook, tik tok, and what seems destructive behavior coming from it. With a bonus of E. Musk followers!!!!
