Don't have any tootling problems though, I add a couple of dried bay leaves to the cooking water, when cooking dry beans for recipes, that seems to work the charm. Maybe give this a try. I don't use canned beans unless I absolutely have to. It's easy to cook up a batch of beans and then freeze what you don't need in portions for later use.
