Having just seen a small sample of photos from your preferred areas, all I can say is that they all look good. You got a tough decision to make.

A suggestion for your photos. Scan them! However, even Brooklyn has gotten expensive. What I love about Brooklyn and Queens is that they are not far from Manhattan, so I'll be able to take a subway into work. And it might be nice to not actually live in the city all the time, but instead get a break by living outside in one of the boroughs.

"My husband and I sometimes think about moving back because like you, we are over Philadelphia."

OMG, I've been OVER Philly for YEARS and YEARS, so I CAN'T WAIT to move back to New York. Each month I've been letting go of more and more stuff so that I didn't have to wait until the last minute. I want as little to pack as possible when I move in Sept.

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor. It's changed so much over the years, but around the time we moved, Brooklyn was at its peak of everyone wanting to move there because it was less expensive than Manhattan. I still have family there and enjoy visiting. My husband and I sometimes think about moving back because like you, we am so over Philadelphia. We moved here for a my husbands job, but he's retired now so we really have no other reason to live here.

When we moved from NY to Philly, my husband and I drastically streamlined our life because we moved to a smaller home and didn't want the clutter. I applaud you for slicing away all the things that are not necessary in your life because it's not an easy thing to do, part with memorabilia. You're right though, we don't the "things" to remind us of the memories because they will always been within our heart.

Inspiring post, Ron! I have a feeling this summer will fly by in my preparations to move. I'm going to take the last week of May into the first week of June off and go into NYC to check out living locations. I will be doing this in two parts. Once now, and then again in July. Yes, I have a feeling everything is going to work out fine and that I'll find an affordable apartment in an area I like. I feel very positive about this move.

" I hear that Harlem made a complete turnaround since I moved and that's it's really nice and still affordable.
