Last week we had a special event at work, which included a DJ who played an awesome variety of music.

One of the songs was, Cupid Shuffle, which I'm ashamed to say I had NEVER heard before.

Well, ever since, I’ve been listening to the song on You Tube and line dancing around my apartment; doing the Cupid Shuffle moves. I even do it while I’m washing the dishes. You haven't lived until you've seen a soapy fork FLY out of your hands and across the room while trying to dance.

I COULD NOT get that song out of my head because it had such a great beat.

In fact, at one point during the middle of the night on Saturday, I woke myself up dancing the Cupid Shuffle in my SLEEP.

“To the right, to the right, to the right, to the right…to the left, to the left, to the left, to the left…now kick, now kick, now kick, now kick…now walk it by yourself, now walk it by yourself.

Please don't tell anyone this yet, because it's a secret. I’ve decided to quit my job and become a professional rapper and then tour the world.

I’ll call myself, Rapper Ronnie, The Gift Wrapper.

Who knows, maybe I'll get some gigs at the geriatric community centers in Miami Beach, Florida. But I may have to dye my hair BLUE first.

What do ya think? Have you ever seen or heard of a 57-year old rapper?

Well, now you have…

OMG Ron! A-Mazing! Thank you for making my day. Even though Mother's day is technically over, that has to be the best gift-EVAH!!!!! I'd subscribe to your YouTube channel any day. (((HUGS)))

  2. OMG Ron, that was BRILLIANT. You make a great rapper and I lurve the way you move, baby. You sure got rhythm! FYI my feet were tapping to the music. I think this is one of the times when we can safely say GIVE UP THE DAY JOB.

Now, tell me, how did you achieve those effects on film?

Have a super week and keep rappin' x

  3. I had never heard of it either, so I looked up his video online. Yeah, your video is soooo much better. You are hard core, Rapper Ronnie! Get yourself a gold tooth and you are ready to tour as opening act for Kid Cudi.

Those photos of you are hilarious! Thanks for the Monday morning fun!

  4. Your videos are THE BEST! That was hysterical!

I was at a wine tasting event back in 2008, and they played that song. Everyone got up to dance and I'd never heard it but the moves are easy so I jumped in. So much fun! Line dances were big when I was in high school, and I always enjoyed them.

  5. All right, Grandmaster Ronnie busts a move!

Love this video, man, it's got a great urban look to it. And those dance moves are off the hook! I don't know "Cupid Shuffle" either, but then I'm still listening to the Andrews Sisters so I'm probably not the guy to ask.

Follow your dream, buddy, and I'll look forward to seeing you shake your booty on MTV!

  6. Ron as you already know, I share your posts with one of the girls I work with because she always hears me laughing at my desk. So I showed her this one and she told me to tell you that it's the funniest thing she ever saw. She watched it two times. You are hysterical! And boy can you move!

Give it up, Rapper Ronnie, and go for it. You could definitely be a professional rapper.

Great video, Ron! Thanks for the best Monday morning laugh!

"I think this is one of the times when we can safely say GIVE UP THE DAY JOB."

HAHAHAHAHA! Aren't I a silly man? I had soooooo much fun putting this video together. I decided to do this on Saturday night, so I quickly got everything together and then finished it yesterday afternoon.

Hey listen, when I go on tour I'll be sure to make the UK one of my concert spots. And then after the show, you and I can go out for a glass of wine, okay? HA!

"Now, tell me, how did you achieve those effects on film?"

I achieved them all through Windows Live Movie Maker. I'm discovering more and more really cool things (effects) you can do with that software. I had to splice the pictures and video clips of me walking the streets together, and then I added the music. This video was really not as difficult to make as my last one.

Thanks for stopping by, dear lady. Have a lovely week!

Aw...thanks. I'm really not a big rapper music fan, but this song I LOVE!

"Get yourself a gold tooth and you are ready to tour as opening act for Kid Cudi."

OMG....I CANNOT believe you said that because I wanted SO BAD to figure a way to make a false gold tooth and then SMILE in camera at the end of the video - HA!

Thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a fantabulous week!

I LOVE line dancing. And you're right, the moves are so easy to learn, so you can just jump in and do the dance. In fact, we were all doing it at work last week and had so much fun!

  17. Hi Ronnie,

Yo!! You are somethin'!! A new career for Ronnie, just could be, once you pump your you tube video! You have a great video!! There's our home boy in Philly.

    So cool :)
I had my busy Monday so I just "peeked" in much earlier in the day... The home boy was full of sunshine and smooth moves. I NEVER heard these artists and I like the beat of this song.

It goes to show, we are at our best learning and trying new things.

I loved your video, my friend. Thanks for sharing!! xoxo

  20. Ron, you're a pisser, dude! I laughed my butt off watching this hysterical video. You are so creative!

I know Cupid Shuffle and have danced it at several weddings I've attended. But it's really the only kind of dance I can do because it's easy and I can dance it with a lot of other people and not feel self-conscious because I have two left feet when it comes to dancing.

    But you, CAN dance!

  21. Yo, dawg - that's brilliant! If this video doesn't go viral, there's something wrong with America. You're a natural! And you've got mad rhythm, boy.

  24. Well, I'm still going to want Prince Poppycock to perform at my 50th birthday bash... but since you've worked so hard, I think I'll hire you as the opening act. Get the crowd really pumped up. lol You've got like a year and a half to get a grill, big gold chains, and an agent.

Hey, I'm with you, I don't think I'd ever heard this song before today. Atleast I don't think so anyway. There's always the chance I had a little too much celebration beverage at a wedding and cut loose to it without remembering. ha!
I don't much like rap, but you made this so fun that I can really appreciate it. Thanks for the giggles!

Have a shuffalicious week, Rapper Ronnie! Don't bust too many moves though! Gotta keep healthy for the World Tour! ;)

I'm not a big rap music person myself, but I love this song. I like music that has rap music intertwined withing the song. Fergie does one with a rapper to the song, The Look Of Love, and it's faaaaabulous!

    Who knew?

" Let me tell you though, that angle of you walking down the street was BOSS. How did you do it. Loved it so much."

Thank you. I took that video of MYSELF while walking down the street. I held the camera away from myself and shot two different clips. I took those videos WEEKS ago and had no idea what I was going to use them for until yesterday, when I made this video clip.

My favorite part of the video was when you lifted your leg up in the air, while giving the rapper hand jive. You crack me up, Rapper Ronnie!

Okay, the pic of you sportin' the chain and bat had me laughing. The only thing your video was lacking was money falling out of the sky, but otherwise you get high props for choreography, urban flava, and for keepin' it gansta! Heh...

" Maybe other wrappers should consult you for their music videos. Just sayin'."

Yeah, perhaps if I don't make it as a wrapper myself, maybe I could be a wrapper video consultant - bwahahahahhaha!

"Also, is that a closet-sized kitchen you cope with?"

Yup...that's it (a kitchenette)! Now you know WHY I have to go grocery shopping twice a week because I can only store so much at one time.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, Kathy! Hope you're having a terrific week!

  71. Yes, he and I have the same sense of humor. That's why we both LOVE Woody Allen.

  72. I agree with Val. I loved the video, couldn't stop smiling and marveled at your mad video skillz. I loved the angle too of you walking down the street. Maybe other wrappers should consult you for their music videos. Just sayin'. Also, is that a closet-sized kitchen you cope with?

" Oh wait....a new HOMIE physical therapy! I'm gonna haffta try it, ya know. See if I can get those crutches to the left to the left to the left.. lalalala..Eeeoowww!! GET down!"

Bwahahahhahahaha! OMG....you're KILLING ME, MEL!! Could you just imagine doing this dance in CRUTCHES?? You might have to do this dance with a WIDE space around you, as not to accidentally hit someone with a crutch in the legs when you turn to left...and then turn to the right...and then KICK!

"I saw the disco tech feet doing their thing and I was all smiles thinkin' I can DO THIS!"

Yes, you could, because the dance steps are very easy.

Thanks so much for stopping by this morning, dear lady. Have a terrific Tuesday!
