As most of you guys and gals know, I respect and adore both cats and dogs because I was raised in a family with a mother who was a HUGE animal lover; therefore we had both feline and canine pets. And at certain times we also had ducks, bunny rabbits, hamsters, fish, turtles, and birds. Hell, we would have even had a cow, horse, and a couple of llamas had we lived on a farm, if were up to my mother.
Yes, my mother's spirit was very reminiscent of Elly May Clampett on the TV show, The Beverly Hillbillies, because she had a special connection with critters. She loved them and they loved her. If ever she walked into someone's home and they had a dog or cat, they would immediately go to my mother as if she were a magnet. Just like Elly May...
Anyway, today I thought I would have some fun by sharing a few photo collages that I created using some cat and dog photographs, and then coupled them with photographs of myself to mirror the expressions on their faces.
So without further ado, please enjoy some feline and canine expressions...
"I'm a cool STUD puppy, aren't I?"
"Um...are you talkin' to me? Because if you are, I'm not listening."
"Oooo...I'm PISSED. See my teeth?"
"OY VEY!!"
Oh I loved this, Ron. You managed to mimic the animals perfectly. I bet you had a lot of fun doing it, too. Which did I like the best? Possibly the one reading the New York Tiimes....oh and the one where you're wearing the dog collar!!
ReplyDeleteDid you know Joe calls me the Bird Lady... I wonder why... whaaaa. I'm a bit like your Mom for loving animals and I do seem to get on with most varieties.... except squirrels. It's not that I don't like squirrels it's just that I don't like them breaking everything in sight. Perhaps if I had my picture taken with one we might get to be friends... who knows!
Happy Monday to you, my friend x
These are stellar, Ron! My fave is the one with the teeth! Have you ever seen the photos of dogs that look like their owners? It's funny how people will choose a pet that resembles them!
ReplyDeleteron, those photos of you and the animals are awesome. you did a great job copying their expressions. thanks for the much needed laughs on a monday morning.
ReplyDeleteAww now this is such an adorable way to start off a Monday! Such a great post! I also loved that you did most of it in black and white. Made everything that much more adorable and awesome to look through. Thanks for this post Ronnie absolutely loved it!
ReplyDeleteOh Ron, these are so clever and cute! I laughed out loud at my desk this morning on the one with the cat sitting on the couch reading the NY Times. Hilarious! And the one of you with the reindeer antlers is adorable. I noticed the men's Armani Gio in the background, were you at work?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giggles this morning. I needed them because well, you know, it's MONDAY Lol.
Have a wonderful week, Ron x
Goooood morning Valerie!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and yes, I had so fun putting these collages together :) When I spotted the one of the cat reading the New York Times, I busted out laughing because that is SO typically a cat! The one of me wearing the dog collar, I created over at PicMonkey by adding the studs to a leather belt collar. However, if you look real close, you'll notice that they are not really studs, they're push pins - HA!
"Did you know Joe calls me the Bird Lady... I wonder why... whaaaa."
OMG, how funny! But you do have such a wonderful connection to birds and animals because of the posts you've shared on your blog.
" It's not that I don't like squirrels it's just that I don't like them breaking everything in sight. Perhaps if I had my picture taken with one we might get to be friends... who knows!"
HA! I know, in as much as I love squirrels, I also know that they can be very aggressive when it comes to getting food.
Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a fantabulous week!
X to you and Joe!
Thank you :) I had so much FUN putting these collages together.
ReplyDelete"Have you ever seen the photos of dogs that look like their owners? It's funny how people will choose a pet that resembles them!"
Yes, I have. And it's funny you mentioned that because while searching for photographs for this post, I found several pet (dog) look-a-like photographs. Hysterical!
Have a SUPER week, my friend, and thanks so much for stopping by!
X
Thank you, Val :) I had a blast putting these collages together.
ReplyDeleteHave a FAB week, my friend, and thanks a bunch for stopping by!
X
Hey there Shae!
ReplyDelete" I also loved that you did most of it in black and white. Made everything that much more adorable and awesome to look through."
It was so challenging to find photographs in black and white because most of the ones I had of myself were, so I wanted them to match. The only one I converted from color to B&W was the one of me in the reindeer costume.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a super Monday and week!

Hola Denise!
ReplyDeleteWhen I spotted the one of the cat reading the NY Times I laughed too, because it was SO typically a cat - HA!
"I noticed the men's Armani Gio in the background, were you at work?"
VERY good eye you have! And yes, I was at work when I had that picture taken. It was taken many years ago, when we all got dressed up in Halloween costumes.
Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a wonderful Monday and week!
X
Oh this is just hilarious - great way to start the day and the week!
ReplyDeleteYes, aren't their expression hilarious?
ReplyDelete"They think they're mini people stuck in furry bodies...so, what does that make you, ha?"
Bwhahahahahhaha! Suzi, that was brilliant!
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a fantabulous week!
X
Grace, I was SO thinking of YOU when I was putting this post together and knowing your (our) mutual love and understanding of cats.
ReplyDeleteHave a MEOW of week, my friend. And thank you for stopping by!
X
Ron, this post is ROFLMAO! You mirrored the expressions on their faces perfectly. You really know cats very well because your captions were spot on. The one of the cat reading the newspaper is so damn funny! I'm going to email this post to my girlfriend because she will get a kick out of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, dude!
Thanks, Matt :) I had a so much fun putting these collages together. Yes, I do know cats very well because I used to have two of them many years ago. I love their devil may care attitude.
ReplyDeleteMuch thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a most excellent week!
X
Ron, these are a HOOT!! Having never owned a cat, I can almost hear them saying exactly what you've captioned, especially the one reading the newspaper!
ReplyDeleteI'd have liked and appreciated your mom as I, too, am a magnet -- for dogs! There's just something about me, I guess, that they instinctively like and trust. Dogs, you know, are good judges of character, ha!!
Happy Monday to you!
" Having never owned a cat, I can almost hear them saying exactly what you've captioned, especially the one reading the newspaper!"
ReplyDeleteYes, Debbie, that's exactly how a cat would express themselves, could they talk.
" There's just something about me, I guess, that they instinctively like and trust. Dogs, you know, are good judges of character, ha!!"
Yes, they are, you are absolutely right!
And you would have LOVED my mother because she was a very down to earth lady and had such a deep respect for animals and nature.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Monday to you and have a super week!
X
"Excuse me but I'm reading the New York Times, so please don't bother me. However, you can clean my litter box and get me another cup of coffee." Lol! That is so a cat, Ron, as well as the"Um..are you talkin' to me?"
ReplyDeleteYour mother sounded like such a special lady. I still watch The Beverly Hillbillies on TV Land. I love Granny!
Hey ho Robert!
ReplyDeleteHA! Isn't that so typical a cat? But that's why I love them :)
Thank you. My mother taught us to have respect for animals and nature. I learned a lot from her.
" I still watch The Beverly Hillbillies on TV Land. I love Granny!"
I will sometimes watch episodes on You Tube. Isn't Granny a HOOT? I loved Irene Ryan and feel that she never got the attention she deserved in her career. I knew someone who actually met her while she was performing in a stage productions of Pippin and they said that she was just delightful.
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a super week!
X
Ha ha - what a brilliant post! I love your sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteHey. Ron this is hilarious! You really captured the expressions of these animals. It's the truth about cats and dogs! You're a very creative guy. Great post
ReplyDeleteSuddenly, I want to hire you as entertainment for the company Christmas party this year. You did express an interest in visiting Portland, Ron - it'll be perfect! Just be sure to do your Rudolph impression. You'll be the life of the party, I promise.
ReplyDeleteAw...thank you, Fiona :)
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend, my friend. And thanks so much for stopping by!
X
Hey there Rob!
ReplyDelete"It's the truth about cats and dogs!"
Yes, isn't it? Cat and dogs are so different, but that's why I love them.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by while on your vacation. Hope you're having a fantastic time!
X
"Suddenly, I want to hire you as entertainment for the company Christmas party this year. You did express an interest in visiting Portland, Ron - it'll be perfect!"
ReplyDeleteHa! And yes, I would LOVE to visit Portland one day because I know I would LOVE it. And have a feeling that one day I will.
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a faaaaaaabulous week!
X to you and Tara
OK Ron, my question is, in the photo collages were you mimicking photos of the animals or were the animals mimicking you? at any rate I love the end result..Good Job Buddy
ReplyDeleteYes animals do become a big part of the family, and people like your Mom just makes it easier for these critters to to get into your heart.
Excellent Post Ron
Ron, you are such a funny guy. Love your sense of humor. I'm really enjoying your blog because share on so many different topics.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elaine. When I first started this blog it was primarily only humor, however, over the past 7 years it's changed. I sorta post about whatever I feel like sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week and thanks so much for stopping by!
X
"OK Ron, my question is, in the photo collages were you mimicking photos of the animals or were the animals mimicking you?"
ReplyDeleteHAHAHHAHA! Great question, Jimmy!!! And I think it's probably a little of both ;)
"Yes animals do become a big part of the family, and people like your Mom just makes it easier for these critters to to get into your heart.:
They sure do. My mother was such a huge animal lover, so I think in turn, it made me the same way.
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a super week!
X to you and Cindy!
This. Is. Awesome!!!! I just LOVE it when you get all crazy! What a great job you did with all of these canine and feline expressions!! I can tell you took acting classes!! You ROCKED those looks! Happy Tuesday Ron and thank you so much for making me smile...I need it today!! xo Jeanne and the girls
ReplyDeleteHey there Jeanne!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I had sooooooooo much fun putting these collages together.
" I can tell you took acting classes!!"
HA! Yeah, can you tell? I can be such a HAM.
Happy Tuesday, my friend. And thanks so much for stopping by!
X to you and the girlz!
I have ya tagged as a cat person. You and the kitty in the last photo....twins! LOL. Kinda scary if you think about it. They're all adoreable, of course....mostly cuz of you. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI seem to be one who attracts critters, but I adore them when they bounce across the yard knowing I have the goodies in hand. LOL. But it's not always about food. The darn thing seem to want my attention and affection, too.
I'm NOT a cat lover....but they seem drawn to me. LOL. I was probably a catnip farmer in my previous life. :-/
I can't imagine doing all those "selfies", but well done YOU!!
And thanks for the smiles. *hugs*
BAHAHAHA! I think you have a bright future in this line of work.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Thanks for that laugh, Ron!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a laugh, my friend :) I had so much fun putting this together.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by. Have a fantabulous week!
X
You are such an out of control crazy person! I love you, bro!
ReplyDeleteHellooooo there Jayne!
ReplyDeleteHA! Yeah, I may even add a new category to my blog...
"People/Pet Expressions"
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a terrific week!

"I have ya tagged as a cat person. You and the kitty in the last photo....twins!"
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA! I think you're right, Mel!
"I seem to be one who attracts critters....but it's not always about food. The darn thing seem to want my attention and affection, too."
That's because they can tell you have a good heart, just like my mother :)
"I'm NOT a cat lover....but they seem drawn to me. LOL. I was probably a catnip farmer in my previous life. :-/"
OMG...how FUNNY!! Well, there must be something about you that they LOVE or they wouldn't be drawn to you because cats are VERY discerning.
I think deep down inside they can tell that you ARE cat-lover ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a meow of week!
((((( You ))))))
X
Bwhahahahahaha! I agree...out of control!!!!
ReplyDeleteI once had someone I worked with say to me, "You ain't right, Ron."
And it was RIGHT!
Thanks so much for stopping by, Sis!
X ya!
(((((((((( You ))))))))
LOL I don't know which are cuter, Ron? The felines, canines, or homo sapiens? ;)) If I could adopt, I'd take you all! Now that would be the role for the mad hatter! But a lot of fun! And just as I thought that pairing was perfect, came the next. Brilliant, Ron! :))
ReplyDeleteAw...thank you, Petra :) I have no idea what made me post about this, however, I just suddenly got a desire to compare cat and dog expressions with people, and how they can be similar in attitude.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by, dear friend. Hope you're having a glorious week!
X
Hahaha!!! Love them ALL! Perfect expressions. Hey, if you're not using the collar... could I borrow it for birthday weekend?? Hehe
ReplyDeleteThis post is especially interesting because while trying to figure out what the heck I'd share this week after the Halloween post and I thought... ooh, I have some photos of Greta taken recently that I like.
Animals always seemed to like my mom, however, she didn't really like them much and would shoo them away. I guess she just didn't care for them rubbing against her or begging for food. (Yeah, we give our furry friends some people food.) Growing up, we had both dogs and cats, hmm... maybe she did secretly like them.
Helloooooooo Mary!
ReplyDelete" Hey, if you're not using the collar... could I borrow it for birthday weekend?? Hehe"
Ha! Yes, I would absolutely lend it to you, however, it's not a real collar. I made it over at PicMonkey by using one of my black leather belts and then edited studs onto it. And actually, they're not really studs, they are push pins - HA!
" ooh, I have some photos of Greta taken recently that I like."
OMG...I would love to see those photos on your blog!!!
"Growing up, we had both dogs and cats, hmm... maybe she did secretly like them."
Yup, bet she did :) And you, like me, have a respect and love for both dogs and cats.
Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor. Have a great rest of your week!

In a word: PURRRFECTION!!! Oh what a treat to click through and see/read this great post this morning. I'm a big-time animal lover too and your post brought a big smile to my morning. Your mimic photos are Spot on, pun intended!!! ;) Mr. Cheddar is enjoying checking these out too, as I type this.
ReplyDeleteHAVE A FAB WEEK!!! G
Ha ha! You looked like every, single one of those, Ron! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteOur house was always full of animals too. At one time (before I was born, I think), my parents even looked after a monkey! We had rabbits, tortoises, cats, dogs fish and birds, in my childhood years, though not always at the same time. Then again, we probably did!
"Your mimic photos are Spot on, pun intended!!! ;)"
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA! Thank you, Geraldine. I had so much fun putting these collages together.
And yes, I know what a BIG-TIME animal lover you are :)
" Mr. Cheddar is enjoying checking these out too, as I type this."
HA! Please tell Mr. Cheddar I said, "Meow!"
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a most excellent week!
X
Thank you, Babs. :) I had a blast putting these collages together.
ReplyDelete"At one time (before I was born, I think), my parents even looked after a monkey!"
OMG...how fabulous! And it's ironic you mentioned a monkey because my mother always wanted a pet monkey!
"We had rabbits, tortoises, cats, dogs fish and birds, in my childhood years, though not always at the same time."
It was the same in my family. We had ducks and bunnies during the spring season (Easter). But other times we had various pets as well. I even had a ant farm!
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're having a lovely week!
X to you and Mo!
Great post! You are very darn funny.
ReplyDeleteWe have four cats and I wouldn't dare make fun of them. Not because I'd feel bad about it, but I'm pretty sure they are secretly reading my blog and email.
Speaking of Elly Mae. If she walked into my house, I'd go right to her also.
"We have four cats and I wouldn't dare make fun of them. Not because I'd feel bad about it, but I'm pretty sure they are secretly reading my blog and email."
ReplyDeleteBwhahhahhahaha! You are SO right about that!! Aren't cats hilarious?
"Speaking of Elly Mae. If she walked into my house, I'd go right to her also."
HA! Yes, she was most definitely a very attractive lady. Both sweet and sexy.
Thanks so much for stopping by, Pat. Hope you're having a super week!
LOL! These are awesome. I love the first cat photo. Sooooo true. We have a petting zoo at our house with 3 dogs and 5 cats between The Investigator and us. The Golfer temporarily moved home last year and "forgot" to take her cats when she moved back to Florida...hence the two extra cats in addition to The Investigator's three. Oy vey.....They say owners begin to resemble their pets. I wonder how that works in our house. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa :) I had so much fun putting this post together and making the collages.
ReplyDelete"We have a petting zoo at our house with 3 dogs and 5 cats between The Investigator and us."
OMG!!!! That certainly is a petting zoo! And I bet it's fun. I think it's odd how they say that cats and dogs don't get along, but I have found that they get along famously. Our cats and dogs would cuddle together and sometimes actually groom each other.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're having a SUPER week!

Oh Ron, you are so cute! I love the new look of your site!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Benze :)
ReplyDeleteWith this new template, I've decided to create a new header each month, just to keep things fresh and interesting.
Have a FAB, my friend!

I love you, Ron. That is all.
ReplyDeleteLove you too, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by, girl. Hope you're enjoying this COLD weather we're having :)
