Hi folks!
Some of you emailed me last month and asked if I was going to make another calendar for the new year.
Well, I just wanted to let you know that I finally created a 2015 Urban Life calendar in my Zazzle Store. Yeah, I know I'm late, but I was so busy over the holidays with work, that I didn't have the time to get it together before the start of January.
BAD me.
I also have to share a comedy of errors involving this calendar. You see, I had already created and published it on Zazzle three days ago, when yesterday afternoon while visiting my store and looking over the calendar once again, I suddenly noticed that I had mistakenly used the template from LAST year; therefore the calendar had the 12 months listed as 2014 instead of 2015.
OMG!!!! I freaked out and immediately deleted the calendar from my store and then had to create it ALL OVER AGAIN. I cannot believe I didn't catch that mistake before I published it.
And my only thought was that anyone who had viewed my calendar over those three days, was probably thinking,"WTF is wrong with this guy? The front cover of his calendar reads 2015, but the inside months read 2014!?"
I seriously think I need to hire a professional proofreader. Or at least a Seeing-Eye dog that knows how to proofread and spell check!
Anyway, here is a sneak peek. Hope you enjoy this one!
Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteI've got a VERY early product training at work this morning; therefore I will be responding to comments and visiting your fabulous blogs later in the day. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

" And our parent(s) would scold us for using candles cuz the house was gonna burn down and all of humanity was going to perish. And then they'd go to mass and do what?!? Oh yes, light candles!!"
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA! You're right, Mel, back then lighting candles was so taboo because god forbid they set the house on fire! I remember not being able to light candles in my bedroom, only downstairs with parental supervision.
"Today I have two....spendy soy ones without the leaded wick....very lightly scented...."
Ooooo...they sound faaaabulous! Illuminations used to carry soy candles as well. And they prided themselves on NEVER using leaded wicks, only cloth.
"Shhhh....don't tell....but sometimes, when Mr. Phobe King is out of the evening with his buddies, I.LIGHT.THE.CANDLES. :-D"
HA! You crack me up!
Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Hope you're having a super-duper week!
(((((( You ))))))

Woohoo! Ron, your new calendar looks great. Very professional! I will be purchasing it today. And I'll be proud to hang it on the wall in my office so I can look at it all day.
ReplyDeleteThe best to you with your new 2015 calendar!
Have a wonderful day, Ron x
Awesome looking calendar, Ron! I love the front cover. Cool picture! "I seriously think I need to hire a professional proofreader. Or at least a Seeing-Eye dog that knows how to proofread and spell check" Lol! I'm so glad that you're putting your photographs online and offering them for sale because they're great. And you've inspired me to take more pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, dude!
It looks good, Ron. Love the picture for January. Pity I don't live in the States, I could have had one. Let me tell you - you are not the only one who got muddled with the years. I did the same when I was organising the 2015 speakers list for WI. I actually copied the year before. Fortunately, I found out before actually contacting the speakers. Wouldn't I have looked a fool, eh?
ReplyDeleteHave a great day x
I think it must have been because we walked there on cobblestone (brick?) streets. I have no memory of the name of the place, though - this was probably or 8 years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful, Ron. Do you have special reasons why you pick certain photos for each month?
ReplyDeleteVery cool, looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pain in the butt to have to do it all over again. I hate when that kind of stuff happens to me!
Gorgeous photos. Don't be too hard on yourself. Most people make that very same mistake when creating calendars, especially if they had done one the previous year. Plus I've never found Zazzle that user friendly - never get to see a proof of the finished product as it actually will look.
ReplyDeleteRon, I had no idea you made a calendar last year using your own photographs. What a great idea because your photos are beautiful. And this one looks great! I'll take a look at your store tonight. Hope your product training went well.
ReplyDelete" Sometimes we used them for so long that the wax spread out onto the table (or whatever they were sitting on) and weighed a few pounds."
ReplyDeleteHA! Yes, you're absolutely right, Pat!
"I think it must have been because we walked there on cobblestone (brick?) "
ReplyDeleteYup, that sounds exactly like Old City because the streets down there are mainly cobblestone or brick.

Thank you, Denise :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a terrific day!

Hiya Matt!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The photograph on the front cover is one that I took last summer on a rainy day. I was sitting inside a Starbucks when I snapped it.
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy!

Thank you, Valerie :)
ReplyDeleteThe picture for January was one I shared on my blog many months ago, so you may have recognized it.

HA! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who does this kind of stuff. I swear to god, I need to hire a proofreader!
Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Hope your Wednesday was fabulous!
X to you and Joe!
Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I try to pick certain photos that depict the essence of each month/season. Many of the ones I used in this calendar are photographs I have already shared on my blog 'during' that particular month.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend!

Thank you, Suzi :)
ReplyDelete"What a pain in the butt to have to do it all over again. I hate when that kind of stuff happens to me!"
OMG...it was like a comedy of errors. Thank god I had saved all my photographs in my 'images' box on my Zazzle Store, so that I could just upload and resize them again. It just took a long time.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend!

Thanks, Grace :)

You're right, Zazzle is not the most 'user friendly.' It's gotten a bit better since I started my store last year, however, it's VERY slow to edit.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey there Elaine!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Last year (before you and I met) I opened a Zazzle Store and made my first calendar. I also sell single prints of some of my photographs for framing.
"Hope your product training went well."
Yes, it went very well, but I had to get up SO early to be at the training because it was located outside of the city.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh Ron, sorry you had to go through creating your new calendar over again, but reading about it you made it funny!
ReplyDeleteAnd it was worth it because the calendar came out fabuloso! It really shows off your great photographs!
Thank you, Robert :)
ReplyDeleteThere was nothing else I could do except make the calendar over and try to find the HUMOR in it - HA!
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy!
X
Ha ha ha ha!!! That is something I SOOOO would have done! Except I wouldn't have noticed it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the water picture... so pretty!
"That is something I SOOOO would have done! Except I wouldn't have noticed it! LOL!"
ReplyDeleteOMG, Katherine, all I kept thinking was THANK GOD I noticed it!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're having a SUPER week! And I am so enjoying your blog writing challenge!
X
Hey Katherine!
ReplyDeleteAren't the pictures GORGEOUS? I want to live INSIDE some of them!
Illuminations was based out of California in Petaluma. It was SUCH a great candle company that I miss dearly.
" And on Christmas eve I put tea lights everywhere. It is my own little tradition that kind of means, "Time to relax... shopping is done, Church is done.. everyone is home. Now just enjoy."
Ooooooo....that sounds faaaaabulous! I did the same thing on Christmas eve AND on Christmas day.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Well, bravo for you! First off, I love the cover shot. Isn't it amazing where we discover the coolest photos?! And it's only the middle of January so there's plenty of time for people to purchase a 2015 calendar. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHey, Ron, your calendar looks great! I know what a great photographer you are so this no doubt an epic piece of work. With a calendar like this, I won't mind getting older! Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteAw...thank you, Lisa :)
ReplyDelete" Isn't it amazing where we discover the coolest photos?!"
Yes, it sure is. I was just sitting in Starbucks on a rainy day when I took that shot. Who knew?
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Please know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers...

HAHAHAHAHA! OMG, you are SO clever with words!
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, buddy. And for your encouraging words. Hope your week is going great!

Looks like a wonderful calendar! And just as well you spotted the mistake now rather than in the middle of the year...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Fiona :)
ReplyDelete"And just as well you spotted the mistake now rather than in the middle of the year...
HA! You are SO right, my friend!
Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Have a grrrreat weekend!

Oh, shoot - I could easily see making hat kind of error. But congratulations on getting it done - it looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
ReplyDelete"Oh, shoot - I could easily see making that kind of error."
Ha! Glad to hear I'm not the only one :)
Have a super weekend and thanks for stopping by, my friend.

An easy mistake to make Ron, I'm sure the calendar looks great now, in all ways. :-) You take some amazing photos!!!
ReplyDeleteAw...thank you, Geraldine :)
ReplyDelete((((((( You )))))))
And thank you so much for stopping by, my friend!

Ron, you create calendars every year? So cool. If so, I will definitely begin looking for it each year.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can understand the mistake. I don't know how many checks I void because I've written the old year on them, growing accustomed to the new one.
Hope the new year is going well, Ron! :))
There is absolutely nothing like candlelight to make a person look more attractive! Unfortunately, with my breathing problems, I have had to put all my scented candles away in a drawer. It is so unfair! It's a nightmare to go shopping anywhere they sell candles because I have to completely avoid that area - I can't even look anymore! I love candles & I actually don't mind some power outages because it's a good excuse to light up some candles!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love your photos!
ReplyDeleteHey there Petra!
ReplyDeleteYes, I started doing this last year after I opened my Zazzle store in November. I also sell my photographs in prints so that people can frame them if they see any they wish to purchase. I do this to get my photography out there. I've sold about 15 items so far.
".I don't know how many checks I void because I've written the old year on them, growing accustomed to the new one."
HA! I've done the same thing this year!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're weekend was faaaabulous!

ReplyDeleteHA! I agree, Benze! Everyone looks gorgeous in candlelight!
"It's a nightmare to go shopping anywhere they sell candles because I have to completely avoid that area - I can't even look anymore! I love candles & I actually don't mind some power outages because it's a good excuse to light up some candles!"
Yes, some candles are so strong in scent that they even affect me that way. I usually one have ONE scented candle in my apartment. All the rest are unscented.
Having lived in Florida, with the frequent power outages, I know what you mean!

Gorgeous calendar! I'm so excited that you did this! I ordered mine today. Thank you, Ron!
ReplyDeleteAw...thank you, Jean!
ReplyDelete(((((((((( You )))))))))
Sorry it took so long to make it this year.

No problem! I filled out a crappy "insurance" calendar in the meantime, but will gladly toss it out. :-D
