Yeah, I'm sure most of you have already observed how much I enjoy overly-using OMG in both my posts and comments.

And the funny thing is, four years ago when I first began to notice bloggers using this Internet lingo I thought, “What the hell do they mean by O-M-G?”

SIX MONTHS later, when I finally figured out what it meant I said, “OMG…how LAME is that?”

I then said, “OMG…I will NEVER use cutesy acronyms like that as long as I live and blog!”

And just look at who’s LIVING and BLOGGING it now.

Me!

I’m a regular OMG linguistic addict!

And the only reason I can give you for why I use it all the time is because before I ever say anything, whether speaking or writing it, I actually hear the preface OMG in my head.

And if you think I only say it a lot when I blog, you should hear me when I’m doing the “nasty.”

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!

People can hear me OMG’ing in Japan!

I can’t help it, I get very vocal while reading the book, Sex for One: The Joy of Self-loving.

However, you have my solemn word that I will NEVER use any other lame acronyms such as:

DIKU - do I know you?

CSG - chuckle, snicker, grin.

420 - let’s get high.

CUL - see you later.

LOL - laughing out loud (if I want to laugh out loud, I just type HAHAHAHAHAHA).

WTF - (I lie, I’ve used this one before. Actually, a lot.)

Oh, and this is one I made up myself that’s great to use in response to the SPAMMERS I get on my blog, who ask me to hide their business links within my posts.

UCKMFA - meaning: YOU. CAN. KISS. MY. FUZZY. ASS.

Wishing you an OMG weekend everyone!

  2. Hey there Ronnie,

Now,you gave us that abbreviation list and I didn't even now the first four! WTF?!! :) I guess that I am not that much into it. I still spell things out!
Though, CUL made me laugh; you just spelled the word for ass in French hehe!

I should get you together with my cousin Bill because every other sentance he speaks ends with OMG.

I think that everyone who has either started a blog or is really into e mails can relate to this post!

You can tell your boyfriend to stop wiggling his bottom now that we have all admired his curves :)

Happy weekend and big hugs XX

  3. OMG Ron, this is hilarious. First off, it's quicker to write LOL than HAHAHAHAHAHA but both are preferable to 0:)and other Hieroglyphics that require me to twist my head to one side to work out WTF they mean. Oh, and I hate the expression WTF. The F word grates on my fairly decent upbringing but I won't hold that againt you or anyone else. It's just me being my usual prudish self. Have a nice weekend, my friend.

  4. When I got my first computer many years ago, I would see LOL, OMG, LMAO, ROFL, BBF, and many more. I had NO idea what they meant. Of course, over time I learned and have to admit I use them. I still see abbreviations from time-to-time that I don't understand.

  5. Hiya Ron....

OMG! I ALWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS use OMG! when I write! It's only b/c I'm from L.A. - Land of OMG!!! hahhaahah!!! I didn't know the other ones except LOL- which I NEVER use- I prefer Hahahhaah or hehhehe much more..
and sometimes I use TTFN- if I'm feeling like Tigger! However- 'cul' in French is the vulgar word for ASS!
And I used to see friends write ILMAO- which always confused me- I'm laughing my ass off- which I don't use either-- One of my favs that I use probably at least once a week is TGIF!
But, other than that-- Oh yeh, and C Ya ...
    That's about all for now..
Have a great weekend... or HAGWE.
In French we say, Bon WE.
    Ciao, Leese

    OMG, that made HAHAHAHAHHAAHHHAHAHAHA!

    Hysterical, man!

    No, not 420, just CRAZY!

"Now, you gave us that abbreviation list and I didn't even now the first four!"

Me neither. I found these online when I googled "internet abbreviations."

"CUL made me laugh; you just spelled the word for ass in French."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG, how FUNNY!

Since being online, I feel like I've learned a whole new language!

"You can tell your boyfriend to stop wiggling his bottom now that we have all admired his curves."

Isn't he cute? He use to be a male stripper back in 1945.

    Bwhahahahahahahaahaha!

Always great seeing you, my friend! Thank you for stopping by!

    X to you and D!

  9. Good Morning Dear Valerie~

"but both are preferable to 0:)and other Hieroglyphics that require me to twist my head to one side to work out WTF they mean."

OMG, you are tooooooooo funny! And I have to agree. The first time I noticed people using 0:) and ;0 and :0, I thought they were TYPO'S!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"The F word grates on my fairly decent upbringing but I won't hold that againt you or anyone else. It's just me being my usual prudish self."

Same here. I'm not prudish, but if someone over-uses it, it becomes redundant and does grates on my nerves. I have been known to use it, yes, but I try not to over-do it. I use to read someone's blog who uses "F" like ever other word, but it got old after a few months.

Always so wonderful to see you, dear lady! You're just the coolest!

    Have a faaaaaaaaabulous weekend!

"I still see abbreviations from time-to-time that I don't understand."

Yup, me too! In fact, when I was googling for "internet abbreviations", I found a SLEW of terms I had NO IDEA what they were!? What scares me sometimes, is I wonder if communication online will eventually become a series of abbreviations - like short-hand. HA!

Thanks for dropping by, neighbor! Have a great weekend! I hear it's gonna be cool, crisp, and beautiful.

"However- 'cul' in French is the vulgar word for ASS!"

YES, you'll notice in Barbara's comment she shared the same thing.

"TTFN" I've never even seen that one before?!?

Anytime I see TGIF, I think of the restaurant or the movie!

Have a great weekend too, my friend!

  24. Well Ron I usually try to be original when i respond to your blog...but OMG I have to say i like the short cuts. I for one never use them because I am an old biddy when it comes to using words. I have to admit to the occasional LOL (sorry) but other than that it is the long-winded reply with actual words. But your OMG's on my blog are invaluable and I count on them every time. So please...don't un-OMG when it comes to me ...I depend on them!!!

No apologies dear friend, I mean if I can use OMG 100 times within one comment, I certainly understand someone else using LOL or any other Internet lingo they enjoy using.

OMG, me too...sometimes my comments are so long-winded, they end up looking like the book, "War and Peace" bwhahahhahhahahaha!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet words, Susie! I soooo enjoy commenting on your posts. And you have my promise that I will NEVER stop using OMG!

Hmm... back in their day my parents would have probably used:
JHC Jesus H. Christ. Like the H was his middle name or something.
