Today, I thought I’d brighten your Monday morning by sharing a bit of ‘eye candy’ whilst sipping your coffee or tea, and eating your toast.

Being a Libra, I can’t help but contain the one characteristic that prevails my astrological sign…

…we enjoy looking at pretty things.

And one of those things is physical beauty.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not someone who is ONLY attracted to what someone looks like. On first glance I‘ve seen many attractive individuals, however after actually getting to know them they somehow became very unattractive. You know what I mean?

Yet, I can’t help but be completely honest and say that my eyes definitely check out someone who I feel is initially attractive.

Like, say, someone I may see on the street who makes my head turn; getting a severe case of whiplash.

Oh come on….we’ve ALL done that, haven’t we?

I realize, that what I find attractive may not necessarily be what someone else sees as attractive because we’re all different.

As I’ve posted in the past, my physical type is very eclectic. I’ve been attracted to and dated tall, short, lightweight, heavyweight, and all nationalities and cultures.

I have no static type because let’s face it….our tastes change as we change.

What I thought was attractive back when I was in my late 20’s and early 30’s, is nothing like what I’m attracted to now.

Also, it’s not only what someone looks like, it’s more about the ‘whole package.’ The ‘aura’ they exude.

The only thing that often remains the same for my attraction, is that I prefer someone who is ‘seasoned’ in their looks.

Kinda like a bottle of wine. The older they get, the better they taste.

*pun intended

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been attracted to age. When I was younger, I loved hanging out with the grown-ups because most kids my age bored me to tears - both physically and intellectually. Overall, I found older people more attractive.

Age to me, whether it be male or female, is sexy. And not only on a physical level, but there is often a certain quiet confidence and contentment that comes with age, a surrender, which I also find sexy.

So, here are some people who in my eyes, are sexy eye candy….

Clive Owen

Julianne Moore

Javier Bardem

Vanessa Williams

Ed Harris

Susan Sarandon

Daniel Craig

Anne Archer

Ooops…..sorry, didn’t mean to put this one in!

David Beckham

Oh well....enjoy the candy.

  1. oh ronnie, you're not fooling me with that OOPS...you wanted to put him first but i like your order of prettiness, at least in the men....women i don't really see at all the same way, but rather judge my sex a different way, mostly according to age...i prefer older as well and always have and you have a fine choice here...ohlala shall we say? xoxoxoxo and have a good week, my dear.

  2. hahaha! you totally lighten up my monday by having me imagining you on the street with your head turning here n there looking at beautiful people. wink. i totally agree with your statement on how our taste change according to growth. i used to love looking at people with baby face, but not any more. now i tend to find them looking too similar to one another. hah! we love to sit around looking at people, especially crowded places. then we started commenting on Everyone! it always make the outing fun. :p

  3. I think we have the same taste in men and women Ron. Thanks for the eye candy today. Have you ever fancied the pants off a character in a book? Am I strange in that respect? I've just started reading John Sandford books and am totally besotted with Virgil Flowers, one of the characters :0

And I keep scrolling up again as I write this comment. Delish.

  5. Oh my gosh, I LOVE the changes your made to your blog! SO glad to see Ed Harris made your list. I LOVE LOVE LOVE him. Those soulful eyes...Did you see him in Pollack? He's such a brilliant actor.

And David Beckham is fabulous as long as doesn't open his mouth.

    Happy Monday!

  6. Wow, you sure opened my eyes this morning, however don't don't how much I can get accomplished after viewing that last one!

  7. Hey, Ron, great post! All this fabulous candy and no calories! "On first glance I‘ve seen many attractive individuals, however after actually getting to know them they somehow became very unattractive." Oh, I know that one very well indeed. Take care!

  8. Ooooh it's eye popping time. Good afternoon, Ron. It's funny how age changes our perspective. Funny, but good. Aside from looking jealously at the youngsters who can carry off the latest fashons, I find myself leaning towards (pun intended) the older male. If only I could find a Clive Owen lookalike. Julianne Moore is okay, I guess, but my main feeling would be to scratch her eyes out. How dare she look like that when I look the way I do... grins. I only recently discovered that D Beckham had heavily tattooed arms, they must always have been covered by sleeves whenever I've seen him. I think he's a bit of all right but preferably without the tattoos. Out of your collection of beautifies I like Javier Bardem but Ed Harris turned my stomach. Something about the eyes Coooooorrrrrr! Thank you. Happy bunny's off now, I've another blog to read. Enjoy your Monday.

  9. Candy for breakfast - now we're talking. Oh Ron, you know that David Beckman is only like around 36 yrs young. Surely that doesn't meet your definition of mature, so please, leave him out of this. HE'S MINE.

The man I "objectify" the most in Hollywood is Mark Wahlberg (shirtless, of course). And, if you can put the 'aura' of Kevin James in Mark's body, that would do it for me.

BTW, by the end of this post I was humming the 50 Cent Candy Shop song. Thanks a lot, Ron. :-)

  10. Hi Ronnie,
    Happy Monday to you!
    Great celebrity gallery!!
Now, we wouldn't be honest if we didn't admit that every lets their eyes roam a bit. Mine were moving as I looked at these peeps. And yes, Beckham looks pretty hot!

The person that we are becoming( I say that because identity always evolves) needs and wants different candy at 20 than at 50.
I remember at 14 or 15 even doing a "list" of how I wanted my perfect man to be! Now, how naive can that be?! As you so beautifully said:

"it’s not only what someone looks like, it’s more about the ‘whole package.’ The ‘aura’ they exude".

Beauty is not all and can be deceiving.
But, what is in your heart can't lie.

" you're not fooling me with that OOPS...you wanted to put him first...."

    Bwhahahahahahahahaha! Touche'!

" i like your order of prettiness, at least in the men....women i don't really see at all the same way, but rather judge my sex a different way..."

Totally understand and respect your opinion. That's why I shared that everyone's idea of what's attactive is different. That's what makes the world go round!

Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady! Have a wonderful week!

Me too. Now I tend to like a more rugged face. I'm very attracted to a face with lines, wrinkles, salt and pepper hair. There's something I find very sexy about an aged face. It's like a map to the journey they've lived!

Thank you for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're having a super Monday. Enjoy your week!

" Have you ever fancied the pants off a character in a book? Am I strange in that respect? I've just started reading John Sandford books and am totally besotted with Virgil Flowers, one of the characters.'

Yes, I have!!!! And it's so funny you mentioned that because I read somewhere that women tend to more 'read' oriented, where as men tend to me more 'visual.' However, I have been attracted to a character in book too. I think it's because I can 'imagine' them to be how "I" see them.

Thanks so much for stopping by dear, and for adding your thoughts to this post!

    Have a wonderful week!

Yaaaaaaay....another Ed Harris fan! Yup....love, love, love him. Those soulful eyes and rugged face! Yes, I did see him in Pollack and thought he was AMAZING! Great movie. I also loved Marcia Gay Harden in the film too. She's another one I find attractive as well as talented.

"And David Beckham is fabulous as long as doesn't open his mouth."

I've ALWAYS loved Susan Sarandon, she definitely has that X factor. And Anne Archer too!

  19. Hello Valerie~

"It's funny how age changes our perspective. Funny, but good."

Exactly. And that pertains to sooooooo many areas in our lives. I truly love getting older because what comes with age is an 'understanding.'

"It's funny how age changes our perspective. Funny, but good."

OMG...isn't he MUFFIN???? LOVE his rugged face.

"Julianne Moore is okay, I guess, but my main feeling would be to scratch her eyes out. How dare she look like that when I look the way I do..."

Bwhahahahahahahahahaha! That totally CRACKED ME UP!

The thing I love about Julianne Moore is that she's like a 'blank canvas' which can be painted into various roles. She can play any time period in a movie because her looks are timeless. I've really grown to respect and admire her work over the years.

". I only recently discovered that D Beckham had heavily tattooed arms, they must always have been covered by sleeves whenever I've seen him. I think he's a bit of all right but preferably without the tattoos."

Actually, he's not one of my favs either. I perfer older, but I couldn't resist throwing him in here for SHOCK value - HA!

" Out of your collection of beautifies I like Javier Bardem but Ed Harris turned my stomach."

I only just discovered Javier Bardem last year when I saw the movie Eat, Love and Pray. He threw me through a loop! Ed Harris I like because of his rugged looks, however I totally understand that we're all not attracted to the same things.

Thanks oodles for stopping by, dear lady. Always a delight! Enjoy your Monday and week!

    3. So glad you didn't put CLooney on that list. Cus hello, he just gets too much attention =P

    4. I agree on all accounts, except Ed Harris and Susan. I don't know why, I've never liked them.

Yes, I think we ALL did that when we were younger, I know I did. And it just goes to show that what we 'think' we want is forever changing. I've gotten to the point in my life where I've stopped imagining WHO I'm suppose to be with because it always surprises me what life has instore for me. Something much better than I imagined!

    2. I do perfer darker too. I like light skin and dark hair and eyes, both in men and women. Something about dark against the light that makes me SWOON! Escpecially Italian's!

    3. No, I've never been a George Clooney fan, myself. I know that A LOT of women adore his look, but he's never really done anything for me.

    4. That's okay, we're all attracted to different things.

    5. Aren't Clive and Javier MUFFIN'S? Clive is the new visual model for Bvlgari's latest men's fragrance...Bvlgari Man...and he's perfect! I had to google Vicky Christina Barcelona to find out what you were talking about, but when I did I almost died. I LOVE Woody Allen films. See...we are besties! I will definitely check it out. Unfortunately for me, I am still attracted to the same things now as I was back then, which means the women I like tend to be younger while I (hopefully) age gracefully. It's okay now, but man, when I'm in my sixties I'm soooo going to be the old pervert on the block, I just know it.

Great pics...Anne Archer I never considered, but if that cigar isn't a phallic symbol, I don't know what is. Nicely done!

  35. Give me the mature look over youth any day!

Now here's the funny thing. When I was a teenager through my twenties, I always mixed with older people. I also found people my own age less interesting. Most people I hung around with were in their thirties, some even their forties. The interesting part is that as I got older my circle of friends stayed the same age. I am now in my sixties and so don't have anything in common with most people of my own age. Both Mo and I have always got along with young people and young people seem to get along with us too.

I think I was born 35 years old, and stayed there. It's just a pity my body didn't :)

I only recently discovered Javier Bardem, but Clive Owens I've been following a while now. And aren't Julianne Moore and Anne Archer the BOMB? I wish Anne Archer would do more, because I don't see her much in film. Julianne Moore is so beautiful because she's like a chameleon, she can morph into any character.

  43. mmm hmmm, yes and Praise Almighty Jesus! Well I've got some semi-deep thoughts on this one too, but don't think it's such a good idea to blab-blab-blab like I did last time. I will add that one of my observations about maturity is the fact that one feels more aligned with one's true self. That's real. That's awesome. That's sexy. Thank you, as always for your thought provoking insight on the rocks, with a twist :) xoxo Diane

  45. My husband and I often talk about what makes a person 'attractive' and how people's opinions vary so greatly. I never thought I had a type because, like you, my taste has changed over the past four decades! I went from David & Shawn Cassidy to Johnny Depp & Colin Farrel.

Thank you for the eye candy this morning! It was quite enjoyable with my coffee!

  48. Hey Dave~

"I mean with leaving a comment. It has locked me out quite a few times."

Yes....that's been happening to A LOT of us who are using Blogger. One of my readers found a way to get around it. In fact, TWO of my readers had problems logging in to make a comment for SEVERAL weeks. So far, I haven't had that problem, however I've had other ones - UGH!

Anyway, I'm so sorry you're having this issue. But, I thank you for stopping by and letting me know.

    Have a great weekend, buddy!

  55. ...Oh, Susan Sarandon, love her! She is the epitome of aging gracefully. Also, I was surprised not to see Diane Keaton or George Clooney on your list... And lordy, David Beckham! *fanning self* ;o)

...Yeah, as much as we preach "don't judge a book by its cover", we do. I think it's just part of human nature. We have eyes and with seeing we know beauty when we see it but I love it when at first you don't see beauty but with time it blossoms in front of you. There's something about that that is reassuring to me...I dunno why.

...I know one thing as I have gotten older is that I don't like mean people. To me, that is ugly in its most purest form. I know one time my husband and I went to a get-together and there was this woman there that was just drop dead gorgeous but then I heard her talk and that was the end to her beauty. She was a bigot, a racist, she spewed hatred; it was disgusting to listen to her. My husband became friends with this woman's husband and once in awhile we get invited to their home and to this day I have never gone. I couldn't stand to be around her for just that one evening and the thought of hearing her speak again makes me cringe. :o\

...Love eye candy! Great post Ron!

...Have a wonderful rest of the week!

    ...Blessings :o)

  57. You didn't mean to put that in? Ha! Liar, liar, pants on fire!! Oh .. uh ... perhaps a little too apposite, that expression, huh? *Snigger*

I'm with you - as a fellow Libran with an eye for beauty, I also favour the older, more lived in type of face. OH would be with you, too, particularly on Susan Sarandon, an all-time favourite of his. She IS sexy, and one reason that she is, is because she doesn't try to look unreasonably young. Her face is the face of a woman her age - a beautiful, sexy woman her age - and not a smoothed out, face-lifted plastic doll.

Ed Harris is an interesting choice. Can I guess that it's his aura more than anything? He exudes a quiet sort of confidence, doesn't he? He's one of those people who make you feel that he knows far, far more than he's letting on, but there's no arrogance with it.

  58. Hellooooooooo TJ~

"...Oh, Susan Sarandon, love her! She is the epitome of aging gracefully.'

You said it, dear lady! I met her once a few years ago here in Philly. She was here because some film group was giving her an award. And when she walked out onstage, I got all goose bumps and teary-eyed because I couldn't believe she was standing in front of me! She just glowed. So beautiful. So natural. So outspoken. LOVED her!

And thank you for mentioning Diane Keaton, because she's another one who is still going strong in the industry and yes, aging gracefully. George Clooney, I'm not really excited about. I know a lot of women like his look (and I respect that), but for some reason he just doesn't do it for me.

"...Yeah, as much as we preach "don't judge a book by its cover", we do. I think it's just part of human nature. We have eyes and with seeing we know beauty when we see it but I love it when at first you don't see beauty but with time it blossoms in front of you."

Yes! Yes! Yes! I so know what you mean because I've met people who actually BECAME beautiful to my eyes because of something INSIDE them.

"...I know one thing as I have gotten older is that I don't like mean people. To me, that is ugly in its most purest form."

THANK YOU!!! I agree! And hearing your story about this woman, I know I would not have found her attractive. Isn't it something how hatered makes physical beauty vanish?

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and feelings. Muchly enjoyed!

    *wink*

And I LOVE that you said "Liar, liar, pants on fire" because I ALWAYS use that expression!!!!

"I'm with you - as a fellow Libran with an eye for beauty, I also favour the older, more lived in type of face."

OMG!!!! You're a Libra too?????? Figures! I knew I LIKED you from the start. I know most zodiac signs are not suppose to get along with their own sign, but I have found that Libra's do. Both my mother and father are/were Libra's.

"OH would be with you, too, particularly on Susan Sarandon, an all-time favourite of his. She IS sexy, and one reason that she is, is because she doesn't try to look unreasonably young. Yup...I couldn't agree with you more! She embraces age, therefore she glows! And guess what? She's a LIBRA!! I think her birthday is October 11th or 12th, I can't remember.

Ed Harris is an interesting choice. Can I guess that it's his aura more than anything? He exudes a quiet sort of confidence, doesn't he? He's one of those people who make you feel that he knows far, far more than he's letting on, but there's no arrogance with it."

  61. What IS the deal?! Geeze. I hate having issues with leaving comments!!!!

    RAWR.

    k....that being said.....

I started drooling at BUTTONS!!!!!! OMG!!!! BUTTONS!!!!! I haven't had those in eons!!! They still make them?
Not that they'd ever taste AS good as they did when I used to sneak to the little store on the way home and buy a string or two. Kinda like tastes changing in people--that's kinda been my experience with 'once-upon-a-time favorites'. Tastes 'refine'. LOL Or, maybe we actually DEVELOP some?! (probably true in my case....just confessing!)

    BUTTONS!!!!!

Okay. When buttons take up more air time than Ed Harris and Juliann Moore you KNOW I have some serious issues. LOLOL

If I hit 'post this comment' and BAD things happen...I'm telling MOM! (yours of course......)

So I probably really am a...whateveritwouldmakeme.

NUTZOID is probably the correct answer. LOL

    <-- still gonna tell MOM!!!!

" started drooling at BUTTONS!!!!!! OMG!!!! BUTTONS!!!!! I haven't had those in eons!!! They still make them?"

Yes! Yes! They DO still make them! I see them in the drug store all the time. I'm not sure if they're as good as when we were kids, but they certainly look as good! I use to eat them all the time. Hated getting the paper in my mouth though - HA!

"Okay. When buttons take up more air time than Ed Harris and Juliann Moore you KNOW I have some serious issues. LOLOL"

HAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHA! No, no issues. In fact, I think you're right on because Ed Harris and Julianne Moore ARE cute as a button - HA!

When I was younger, I loved hanging out with the grown-ups because most kids my age bored me to tears - both physically and intellectually. Overall, I found older people more attractive.
