SURPRISE!

Yup….I spent the past five weeks giving this blog a bit of new interior decorating. I usually do a blog design makeover once a year, which technically should be this coming April, which is when I did my last one. But hey, it’s February, so that’s close enough.

I actually started this project last month when I had off, but just finished putting on the final touches this week.

Once again, I used a template that was designed by Chicablogger and customized it to suit my own needs. She really does an AWESOME job in designing both Blogger and Wordpress templates, which are easy to use and customize. So again…thank you Claudia!

Like my previous template, I wanted something that was bright, fun, and would also have some of the same features, like: a slider, footer, and a nice wide sidebar and content section area to accommodate large photos. I also wanted one that came with a readmore feature.

Well, let me tell you…it wasn’t easy to find. It took me FIVE weeks.

Yet, even with this template, I had to adjust the widths of the content section and sidebar section, but it was really easy. I also tweaked things here and there.

The navigation system on this template is similar to my last one, so you should find it easy to use. The only thing different is that the navigation bar is now above the header - along with my feed burner icon.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. I normally like to use Verdana font on my blog because it’s seems to be the easiest to read. This template came with Helvetica, but the font size seems large enough to read, so I decided to keep it. But please let me know how it reads for YOU because that is the most important thing on a blog – readability.

Is it big enough, dark enough, etc.

Before I decided to use this new template, I viewed it on my desktop computer (which has a large screen), and my laptop (which has a small screen), and it looked good on both. So I’m hoping it presents itself good on your computer screens as well.

If you can believe this, the hardest time I had with this template was making the header banner with my blog name on it. Because no matter what I did, I couldn’t figure out a way to make the background transparent so that all you would see would be the lettering.

It was a friggin' BITCH, but I finally found a way to do it. Praise baby Jesus!!!!

Also, you will notice that I changed my blog caricature at the top of the sidebar. I created him over at Face You Manga. So, that’ll be my new caricature face with this template.

Anyhoo, there you have it folks – a new interior design for Vent.

Please make yourself at home and enjoy!

And have a super-duper weekend everyone!
