Once again, I share a wine review about a brand that was recommended to me last year by my dear friend, Diana, from Florida.

Diana, being a red wine drinker like me, suggested that I try this wine because she had a feeling I would enjoy it. Plus, I have a dirty mind, so she knew I would love the name.

Menage a Trois.

And although I've never tried a menage a trois myself, I thought it would be interesting to partake through a wine.

Well let me tell you, I LOVED it!

I’m pretty much a one-on-one wine drinker, enjoying just a single note. But ever since trying Menage a Trois last year, I’m finding myself more experimental with blends.

Okay, first allow me to give you the stats on Menage a Trois Red, and then I will share my feedback.

_________

 Menage a Trois Red

*Zinfandel
*Cabernet Sauvignon
*Merlot

Even if red wine is not your speed, give our Ménage à Trois Red a try. This wine exposes the fresh, ripe, jam-like fruit that is the calling card of California wine. Ménage à Trois Red brings together three strange bedfellows.

On top we've got Zinfandel, a saucy tease that brings blackberry and raspberry jam to the relationship. Merlot, with its generous mouth feel and red fruits, fits perfectly in the middle. The rich flavors and firm tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon make it the ideal.

Price: $12.00 per bottle

*Menage a Trois not only makes blended wines, but also single notes.

_________

I prefer a bold and full-bodied wine, but not so much that it purses my lips, making me feel as though I’m drinking a glass of oak wood. I also like to taste the grapes, but not so much that it feels as though I’m drinking grape juice.

And what I loved about taking my first sip of Menage a Trois Red was that it fulfilled all of my preferences to perfection. It offered a bold and rich texture, but was also smooth and flavorful. I could taste the grapes but it was not overly sweet. And it left a beautiful lingering taste on my tongue

I must also add here that the aroma from this wine is magnifique!

I have tried it alone and also with dinner, and it seemed to enhance the flavor of my food.

Yup, I adore this wine and highly recommend it!

So if you’re looking to try something new, you’ve got to try your first Menage a Trois

Because one is good, two is great, but three ROCKS the house!

 Enjoy!

*And remember to drink responsibly. Thank you!

  1. Oh what a shame, I don't drink red wine. I did try a Zinfandel Rose recently and that wasn't too bad but on the whole I prefer white wine. I wonder if there's a similar threesome in white!! I do drink Californian wine, though. It has a wholesomeness that I like.

Thinking of you all today x

  2. Great review, Ron! I have been a fan of their Red Table Wine for over a year now. It's my go-to red! Cheers!

  3. I haven't drunk alcohol for about 20 years and red wine for even longer, though there was a time I loved wine. I even made my own.

  4. Oh Ron, what a cleverly written review. And I love the ending photo! I drink this wine and can attest to its greatness! I drink both red and white wine, so I've tried a lot from this brand. My favorites are the red and white blends and the Pinot Noir. They also make a wonderful Pino Grigio which I drink during the summer.

Menage a Trois is one of my favorite wines. Sometimes I'll get it on sale ($9.99) at ABC, so I'll buy a few bottles. But the normal price is not bad at all, especially for the quality.

    Great review, Ron!

I know people who have tried it and loved it!

LOVE California wine! It's actually my favorite wine. I also like Australian as well.

    Love them! Cheers!

  7. Hiya Babs!

Isn't funny because I used to drink white wine, but it didn't agree with me so I stopped drinking wine all together. Then about 6 years ago, I tried red and loved it.

    "I even made my own."

Oh, how faaaaabulous! And I bet it was GOOD! I work with a woman who's husband makes his own wine as well.

Thanks for stopping by, my friend!

  8. Hola Denise!

Isn't this brand faaaaaabulous? I've only tried the red blend, but am dying to try the Pino Noir because that's one my favorite grapes. I don't drink white wine, but someone I know loves the Pino Grigio.

"Sometimes I'll get it on sale ($9.99) at ABC, so I'll buy a few bottles. But the normal price is not bad at all, especially for the quality."

Yes, I will sometimes find it on sale for the same price here in Philly. You're right, the normal price isn't bad at all. It's an AWESOME wine!!!!

Thank you for stopping by, girl! Cheers!

  10. Thank you, Pearl! And I so thought YOU when I was writing this because of our mutual love of red wine!

I don't know if they carry this wine over there, but if you so see it, give it a go because I think you will LOVE it!

    It's faaaaaaaabulous!

Thanks so much for stopping by, m'dear!

  11. Ron, I tried the wine you reviewed on a previous post and really enjoyed it. So, I will definitely try this as well! I enjoy Merlot and Cabs so this sounds like one I would really like.

    As usual, great review, dude!

  12. Hiya Matt!

Do you know what's funny? I'm not a big Zinfandel person, but I think the Merlot and Cab in this blend really bump up the taste and body. It's one of my FAVS!!!!

    Thanks for stopping by, buddy!

  13. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I love your review, Ron. I think you've covered every possible aspect of this drink (even the traditional warning to "drink responsibly"!)
You've painted such a glowing picture that I can almost taste the stuff! You know, if perfumes combine more than one ingredient (top notes, bottom notes, etc.) why NOT wine??
    Have a super Wednesday!

  17. Gooood morning Debbie!

Thank you :) I really wasn't a wine drinker until about 6 years ago. I tried white and didn't care for it, but then tried red, and LOVED it!

"You know, if perfumes combine more than one ingredient (top notes, bottom notes, etc.) why NOT wine??"

Amen! I am in the perfume industry, so whenever I describe wine I compare it to the notes in a fragrance (top, middle, bottom). I think of wine like perfume.

Thanks bunch for stopping by, dear lady!

    Happy Wednesday!

  20. This is one of my favorite wines. It's been a staple in my wine rack for years. Isn't it fabulous?! The other wine I love is Apothic Red. You need to try it too. Along with the red, Apothic White is the only white wine I've found that I like. I'm also gravitating more and more towards Malbac wines too. Oh, so many choices...so little time.

  21. Hello Lisa!

"This is one of my favorite wines. It's been a staple in my wine rack for years. Isn't it fabulous?!"

OMG...you too? Yes, it's faaaaaaaaaabulous! Last year when I tried this is was the first blend I had ever tasted and feel in love with it.

And Yup...I drink Apothic too! In fact, I did a review on that one at the beginning of the summer. Love it! Love it! Love it!

"I'm also gravitating more and more towards Malbac wines too."

I've never tried a Malbac but it's next on my list because a few people I work with mentioned it as a really good wine!

Yes, so many choices...so little time!

Thanks for stopping, my friend. Hope you had super Wednesday!

  23. "Because one is good, two is great, but three ROCKS the house!"

Ron, that was a brilliant finish! You are so clever! And do you know whats funny? I've been wanting to try this brand because I've seen it in the store several times. And from the stats you shared, I bet I would really enjoy it. I think I told you before in your other review that I'm not a big fan of Zinfandel, but love Merlot and Cab. So this sounds right my alley. By the way, I tried the Apothic you recommended and really liked it.

    Great review, Ron!

  24. such a great write up, ron. loved your choice of words in describing the wine and although the thought of anything menage a trois grosses me out (i LOVE saying the word though) i would give it a try. my sister is the wine lover in the family - well my brother and SIL too - but i like the hard stuff and um, good night. ;)

  25. Hey ho Robert!

Tee, hee...I couldn't resist adding a little smut at the end :)

" And do you know whats funny? I've been wanting to try this brand because I've seen it in the store several times."

Oh, how ironic! I would have never tried this wine had my friend, Diana, suggested it. And I'm so glad she did because I adore it.

" I think I told you before in your other review that I'm not a big fan of Zinfandel, but love Merlot and Cab."

Yup, I do remember you sharing that in your comment on my last wine review. I too am not a Zinfandel fan because I like a bolder wine. However, the addition to this wine is what I think adds the grape flavor.

Oooo...and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Apothic. Thanks for letting me know. I love that wine!

Always fab to see ya, buddy. And much thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a super Wednesday!

And honestly, it's an AWESOME wine!

"but i like the hard stuff and um, good night. ;)"

HA! You GO, girl! My mother like the harder stuff too. She LOVED martini's. But sometimes she would enjoy a glass of red wine as well.

  35. I'm not wine savvy by any means. If it's got organic, red and dry on the bottle, I'm sold.
Interesting combo of wines in this product, Ron and you've presented it in a very 'engaging' way!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this wine. Probably not available here in Canada but I won't forget the name if we head south. ;<)

Me as well. Although, I don't think I've ever had an organic wine, but I bet you taste the difference!

I doubt we can get Menage A Trois here, but that's OK because *gasp* I'm actually not that fond of Californian wines. I know that may well be because I haven't tried the right ones, but right now my stomach is so delicate that when I feel I can drink wine at all, I'm going to stick with the ones I know!
