My inspiration for today’s post comes from Lisa at Peripheral Perceptions, who will often post gorgeous photographs that she has captured; adding various inspirational quotes, which she overlays onto each photo.
I don't know why I never thought to do that with my own photos. But that's one of the many things I love about blogging because you will often get great ideas from other bloggers and their talents.
So thanks, Lisa!
I have quite a plethora of photographs taking up space on my computer, so I thought I would follow Lisa’s creativity and share some of those photographs with some of my favorite quotes, which I find very inspiring and true for me.
And I have decided to entitle this, Picspiration.
Hey, I may have come up with a NEW word for Webster!
Yeah, I know, it sounds a lot like Perspiration though.
Please enjoy…
This last quote from Anthony Hopkins is my personal favorite.
AMEN.
Have a picspirational Monday everyone!

Wow, Ron, these are fabulous. The words go so well with the images.
ReplyDeleteThat one about "chasing the wrong things" really touches me personally, as does the "comfort zone" image.
You have a great eye and keen insight--that adds up to a whole lot of picspiration! Thanks, buddy, and have a most excellent week!
I love the pic and the quotes Ron!
ReplyDeleteI loved all of these. Hope you don't mind but I've pinched the second one for this week's desktop background. ;<) These are not only inspiring, they are works of art.
ReplyDeleteStellar post as usual! Thanks Ron. And happy week to you.

My comment disappeared, I'll try again. These are not only inspiring quotes Ron, they are works of art. How beautifully you've matched the photos to the words.
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind, I've "pinched" the second one for this week's desktop background.
Stellar post, as usual. Thanks Ron and happy week to you.
You have chosen pic and phrase very well, Ron. It's a good idea although I find that the words do tend to take the eye away from the photograph. Heehee I guess you dedicated the penultimate pic to me.... whaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Fanku!
ReplyDeleteHave a stupendous week x
I love these! I keep telling myself I'm going to learn how to put text on photos...I tried it once with the photo thing on google but it loses the quality of the photo. What do you use?
ReplyDeleteRon, these are amazing photographs with outstanding quotes! The pics and quotes quotes go so perfect together. My favorites are the second one, the billboard (love that one) and the last. I think you should start a series of these posts each month. Love the name you came up with!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Ron. And thank you for sharing the picspiration!
Hey there Rob!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It was fun putting this post together.
"That one about "chasing the wrong things" really touches me personally, as does the "comfort zone" image."
Me too. Which is why I posted those two quotes - as a reminder to me.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by buddy. Have a most excellent week!

Thank you, Pearl :)
ReplyDeleteHave a super week and thanks for stopping by!

Good morning Geraldine!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
No, I don't mind at all. Help yourself to the photo, please.
Have a fabulous week, my friend and thank you for stopping by!

P.S. Btw, your first comment went through, so I deleted it. I don't know what's up with Disqus, but there has been a delay in publishing comments at times. I apologize for that, my friend.

Hey there Bijoux!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend :)
"although I like the billboard one a lot, too"
Yes, isn't that quote faaaaaaabulous?? I took that billboard photo back in June or July and had no idea what I was going to do with it until I realized the quote would go perfect on it - HA!
" And who'd have thought a quote from Johnny Depp? Fabulous!"
I found that quote online last week, and went WOW because it's so true!
Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a most excellent week!
X
Hey there Suzi!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Glad you enjoyed. I had so much fun putting the quotes to the images.
"I tried it once with the photo thing on google but it loses the quality of the photo. What do you use?"
I use the photo editing software over at Pic Monkey. It's so easy to use and it's FREE. And I find that I don't lose the quality of the image because I know exactly what you mean. You can sharpen and clarify the photo after you add the text at Pic Monkey.
Try it out, it's great!

Goooood morning Valerie!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
" It's a good idea although I find that the words do tend to take the eye away from the photograph."
I guess we all see things differently because I see the words and photos playing off each other.
"Heehee I guess you dedicated the penultimate pic to me.... whaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Fanku!"
HA! Yes, I dedicated that one specifically to YOU!
You are AMAZING!!!!
Much thanks for stopping by, dear lady. Have a stupendous week as well!
X
Hola Denise!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
It took me a few days to match the photo to the words, and I changed them a few times, but it was enjoyable.
" I think you should start a series of these posts each month."
Funny you mentioned that because I was thinking the same thing. I may start a monthly post/series, using photos with quotes. And I may even do a post sharing other people's photos and favorite quotes as well. That might be FUN!
Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a super week!
X
What a cool idea, Ron. And as one of your other readers said, poster quality! Your eye for photography is superb. You see things that I would never even notice. Like the photo of the light on through the window. That is shot is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quotes are the billboard and the last one.
Great post, dude! I've got to get out more often and start using that camera a bought.
OH, this is wonderful! Right away, I have 2 favorites -- the bullshit post, and the Johnny Depp quote.
ReplyDeleteHiya Matt!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
" I think you should start a series of these posts each month."
I took that shot over the summer because I was thinking of doing a series of photos entitled, "Looking Through Windows." I have several others, which I will posting later on.
"and the last one."
Don't you just love that quote? It's very much how I see myself, so it really clicked for me.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, buddy. And yes, get out there and use that camera you bought because you'll find yourself becoming more and more interested in photography. Also, when you start taking photographs, you really begin to notice all the cool things around you to take pictures OF.
Have a super week!

Wow....aren't you a clever and talented one. I found the first one amazing enough...and then there were more. Wonderful snippets of your collection. I think I OUGHTA snag the billboard for the desktop (LOL!!) But I think I'll ask permission to borrow Sir Anthony Hopkins instead, please. I'm well to be reminded of this, day in day out!
ReplyDeleteThey really are good. I marveled when Barb did something similar...such fitting quotes for the photos. I wondered if the quote decided the photo, or if it was the other way around... Which was it for you? And how fun would it be to take a quote and find the photo. I'm NOT that focused, but for those who are....how fun!
And for the record, I think picspiration is a lovely word for the end result. I'd be sweatin'it if someone asked me to do it! LOL. All the more reason for you to do another round! ;-)
Helloooooooo Jean!
ReplyDeleteIsn't the bullshit quote faaaaaaaabulous?
And don't ya just love Johnny Depp? Cool guy he is! And any movie he is in, I'll watch. Amazing actor!
Much thanks for stopping by and have a lovely week!
X
Hiya Mel!
ReplyDeleteHA! Isn't the billboard quote a HOOT? I took that photo over the summer and had no idea what the hell I was going to do with it. But when I found the quote online, I knew the photo would be perfect to house the words.
"But I think I'll ask permission to borrow Sir Anthony Hopkins instead, please. I'm well to be reminded of this, day in day out!"
Yes, please feel free to use that one, by all means. And don't you LOVE the quote? As soon as I read it I thought, "Yup...that's my thoughts exactly."
" I wondered if the quote decided the photo, or if it was the other way around... Which was it for you?"
Great question, Mel! I found the quotes first, then tried to find photos that matched. But I may do a post in the future where I post photos and then ask everyone to compose a quote on what they FEEL from the photo. Might be a fun idea.
HA! Glad you like the new word. And yes, I will be doing another round of these because I really enjoyed putting this post together.
Much thanks for stopping by, dear lady. Have a glorious week!
X
Hiya Babs!
ReplyDeleteAs I shared, I didn't either. I've been reading Lisa's blog for a while now and have always enjoyed how she does this, so I decided to try it myself. She inspired me!
" but I think I like your favourite one best and I love the photo too :)"
Thank you, and don't you LOVE that quote? I love Anthony Hopkins. I've watched several interviews with him throughout the years, and I enjoy how he thinks and feels about certain things. Amazing actor too!
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, my friend. Have a lovely week!
X to you and Mo!
What a neat idea, Ron -- glad you borrowed it from your friend Lisa!
ReplyDeleteAnd I so love your quotes! As I was reading them, I thought about which one I could point out as my favorite, but each one built on the previous -- to the point that, taken together, they make a splendid blueprint for LIFE. Well done!
And your photos are simply beautiful, adding just the right visual touch for these words of wisdom.
Happy Monday to you!
Hey there Debbie!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
Isn't Lisa's idea SUPER? I thought about that over the weekend and decided to try my hand at it. And it was FUN!
"but each one built on the previous -- to the point that, taken together, they make a splendid blueprint for LIFE."
HA! You know, I never even thought of that, so thank you for pointing it out to me. I wasn't quite sure as to the order I wanted to present these. But I guess my inner guide took me there on its own.
Much thanks for stopping by, dear lady, and for your kind words. Have Happy Monday and week!
X
At first I thought you were sharing a post about sweat, but was glad to see otherwise! I like this idea, and I'm impressed how you found quotes that so easily match the mood of your photos. Well done! Bravo! (And who knew Johnny Depp was so wise)?
ReplyDelete"At first I thought you were sharing a post about sweat, but was glad to see otherwise!"
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA! I know, Mark, doesn't it sound almost like PERSPIRATION?
And thank you. I had a blast putting this post together. I may do more throughout the next year. Maybe once or twice a month.
Thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a grrrrrrrreat week!
X to you and Tara!
P.S. hope you're feeling better this week.
There's no accreditation for my favourite, the bullshit one. Is that one of yours?
ReplyDeleteI love this Ronnie! I am definitely a quote junkie and you have certainly rounded up some of my personal favs and gave them a nice new look! Such a great ideas! Are these all pics you took? If so they are absolutely fab! Have a great week my friend!
ReplyDeleteI like it! You matched those up beautifully. I like them all, but the second one really speaks to me - I think it's true both in comparing your life to others and also in relationships.
ReplyDeleteWOW, Ron! Between the wisdom of the quotes and your outstanding photographs, this post is super! I love all them for different reasons, but the one of the leaf on the green stones is just beautiful. I also love the bullshit one and the last two. What a powerful quote from Mr. Hopkins!
ReplyDeleteYou should find a way to print these and sell them because they are that good!
Hey ho Robert!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your supportive an encouraging words :)
The one of the leaf on the green stones, I took several months ago at the new Barnes Museum here in Philly. I shot that through water. Behind the museum they have a man-made pond/pool that is HUGE. I saw the leaf under the water, so I snapped a photo of it. I can't believe it came out that clear because I thought the water would blur it.
Yes, don't you love the quote from Anthony Hopkins? Very powerful indeed. And very true.
Mucho thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a terrific week!!!
X
You took that photo through water??? Wow...you can't even tell because it's crystal clear. Well done, Ron!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robert. I got very lucky on that one!
ReplyDelete"Silence is better than bullshit" This is, without a doubt, the quote of the week. Heh...genius.
ReplyDeleteHA! My sentiments exactly.
ReplyDeleteGenius quote!
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, buddy. Have a SUPER week!
X to you, Karin, and Mr. Tyler!
This is awesome!!! What a great idea! I just love the billboard...Silence really IS better than bullshit!! Quote of the week indeed. All of these quotes are great. Superb idea Ron!! Happy Tuesday! xo Jeanne
ReplyDeleteAmen to silence is better than bullshit. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteWell, I bow to you with these amazing shots and quotes! What a great term you've coined...Picspiration...I love it! Ron, really, these shots and quotes are absolutely faaaabbbulous! :-) I think I like the Comparison combination the best.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the kind shout out. My muse thanks you too. Hope you continue to have many picspirational days.
Helloooooo Lisa!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend :) And thank you for inspiring me! Every time I see your beautiful photographs with the quotes, I go, "WOW!"
" I think I like the Comparison combination the best."
Isn't that a SUPER quote? Short, powerful, and so true.
Much thanks for stopping, Lisa. Have a faaaaaaabulous week!
X
Hey there Jeanne!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
" I just love the billboard...Silence really IS better than bullshit!!"
Ain't that the truth? And it pertains to so many things - sometimes not saying ANYTHING and just LISTENING to a friend share a particular problem they're having is more helpful than saying bullshit because they often find a solution to their problem through just sharing it with someone.
Thanks for stopping by, dear lady. Happy Tuesday to you!
X to you and the girlz!
Greetings Lauren!
ReplyDeleteWelcome! Thanks for stopping and sharing a comment. So nice to meet you!
Isn't the bullshit quote faaaaaaaaabulous? When I saw it online I said, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"
Have a wonderful week!
X
Beautiful! I love the words you chose, especially "When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right things a chance to catch you."
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Lisa has to do this. And, you're right, we do get inspired by others.
You know, it's so ironic that you posted this today because I was chatting with another blogger friend of mine in Texas last night and she told me about this guy who photographs people in New York and captions them. You may have already heard of him. You can follow him on FB, Twitter and his blog. I thought of you right away because of your love for NY. Here's the Nightline story on him.

So nice to meet you, too. : ) Yes, the bullshit quote is fabulous. Hope you have a wonderful week, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!

ReplyDeleteHope you had a super Thanksgiving Day yesterday!

Silence is better than bullshit. Ummmmmm so I better keep quiet! HA HA HA!!!! Honestly I LOVE these... and the photos... ahhhhh you know how much I love your photos!
ReplyDelete"I expect nothing and accept everything." Wow that is a HARD one! Did you take that pic too? Holy COW!
For someone like me who creates Bullshit, silence is not so good.
ReplyDeleteWhere in Philly are you? I lived in Bristol and in Allentown. I skated in both.
Love the last pic! The cloudy ski is perfect with it reflecting in the glass. Favorite pairing was the comparison quote along with the similar rocks. Works perfect together.
ReplyDeleteHey there Katherine!
ReplyDeleteAw...thanks, girl :)
"Silence is better than bullshit. Ummmmmm so I better keep quiet! HA HA HA!!!!"
HAHAHHAHAHA! I know, I thought the same thing about myself! However, I think we ALL do a little bullshitting now and then.
Don't you love that last quote? And yes, it IS a hard one!
Yes, I took that photo over the summer. It's a medical building not too far from where I live.
Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Hope you're having a fabulous week! I LOVED your post today!!!!
X
Helloooooooooooo Jeff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great TREAT to see your comment, buddy!
Thank you. I took that photo over the summer. It's a medical building not too far from where I live. I looked up and saw the clouds reflected off the glass windows and HAD to take a picture.
Yes, don't you love the comparison quote? Short, sweet, and very true!
Much thanks for stopping by, Jeff! Always FAB seeing ya! Have a great week!

"For someone like me who creates Bullshit, silence is not so good."
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA! LOVED that!!!
I live in Center City, Philadelphia. I was born here, moved away to Florida for 20 years, and then moved back about 11 years ago. And yes, I'm familiar with Bristol and Allentown.
Thank you for stopping by. Nice to meet you. I think I've seen you over at Katherine's blog? Stop by anytime. You're always welcome!
What a great pic, Ron!

ReplyDeleteTHESE. ARE. FABULOUS.
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY! FABULOUS!
Thank you, Meleah :)

ReplyDeleteHi Ron,
ReplyDeleteVery well done! I love working with text on photographs. I began doing this when I worked on family photos. It was so gratifying to do that I continued with inspirational quotes .
Thanks for sharing and sending you love.
X
B
Hey there Barb!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
I know, it's it fun working with text on photographs? I used PicMonkey to add the text to these photos because when I tried using the software that came with my computer (Paint) the text seemed to bleed into the images, so it came out looking very blurry.
Much thanks for stopping by, Barb. Have a most excellent weekend!
X to you and D!
Some good stuff here, Ron. I do a weekly (mostly) thing where I find a quite and match with a photo, but never put the quote on the photos. Sometimes I wonder if I should as it can really, at times, add to the image.
ReplyDeleteThank you, P.J. :)
ReplyDeleteAs I shared, Lisa does this on her blog quite often, so I really got the idea from her. It's kinda cool, because I think if you have the right photo and right quote, the two can play off each other.
I may try doing this as a once a month thing on my blog, just for a change.
Much thanks for stopping by, buddy! Enjoy the rest of your week!
Hey there Chrissy!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Lisa's photos have inspired me to do this. I may make this a theme once a month.
"When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right things a chance to catch you."
That one hit me strong as well.
Okay, and I can't thank you ENOUGH for sharing the links to the guy who takes photographs of people in NYC and captions them! I just took a quick look at his blog, but will be going back later today to look more closely. WOW! What an AWESOME blog! THANK YOU, CHRISSY!!!!!
Have a fab week, girl!
X
Helloooooooooooo V Girl!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I had a blast putting the quotes together with certain photos that I took. Some of these I've had on my computer for months and months.
" my favorite is silence is better than bullsh*t. amen to that brother."
Amen is right!
Much thanks for stopping by, girl. Hope you're having a FANTABULOUS time on your vacay. I'm enjoying your photos!
X
Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI really had a great time trying to match my photos to each quote.
Yes, I love the second one as well because it's short, sweet, and so true.
" I think it's true both in comparing your life to others and also in relationships."
You are so RIGHT about that!
Much thanks for stopping by, girl. Have faaaaaabulous week!
X
Hey there Shae!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed :)
I found all these quotes online over the weekend, but they were either already printed on photographs, or on a simple white or black background.
Yes, these are my photographs which I've had on my computer for MONTHS, so I went through and found the ones I thought went well with each quote. It was FUN.
Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a most excellent week!

ron i love these photos and the quotes. my favorite is silence is better than bullsh*t. amen to that brother. you're doing an awesome job with your photos. i was like ron took these? nice.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah that word must be coined. we need to start using it now: picspiration. submit it to the urban dict. for now.
Hey Dale!
ReplyDelete"There's no accreditation for my favourite, the bullshit one."
HA! Don't ya just love that one???
No, I wish I could take credit for that, but I don't know who came up with it because I found the quote online with no accreditation.
Thanks for stopping by, bud. Have a faaaaaabulous week!
X
I've never thought of doing that either. Lots of good quotes there, Ron, but I think I like your favourite one best and I love the photo too :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Poster quality, Ronnie! My faves are definitely the first two, although I like the billboard one a lot, too. And who'd have thought a quote from Johnny Depp? Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAll your photos are beauties. Thanks for posting some picspiration for our Mondays!
