Marlon Brando's screen test in "Rebel Without A Cause" (1955)

Last week my brother,Tom, forwarded an email to me in which the subject box read, What Cool Used To Be. After viewing the photographs and reading the captions, I suddenly felt the desire to share it with you guys.

Thanks, Tom!

It's funny how as we get older, we often look back on each decade and think about how certain things were much cooler then. I remember my grandparents doing it; my parents doing it; now I'm doing it. And I'm certain that the generation of today will one day look back and say, "It was much cooler back then."

But don't you find it ironic how especially when it comes to things such as fashion, design, and even music, they seem to reinvent themselves? The present often borrows from the past because let's face it, some things will always remain cool.

Please enjoy some cool glimpses from the 40's, 50's, and 60's...
