I always return from New York City filled with a surge of creative energy because that's what it does to me, and to so many other people as well. It ignites my senses so that everything I see, hear, touch, taste and smell, becomes acute. You would naturally assume that one would become distracted and overwhelmed by all the things going on around you in New York, but you don't. Well, at least I don't. Ironically enough, I become more centered, focused, and calm. Yet at the same time, excited and energized.

New York City is my muse.

It feeds me soul food, filling me with inspiration.

This quote pretty much sums up my feelings...

Please enjoy the streets of New York City...

Have an inspiring week, everyone!
And Happy Easter!

  1. I just got home after a look round H&M...how strange to see it again when I come on line. As usual you entertain us with your photographs of that great city. Thank you.

It is sunny here, I hope you have some too.

  3. Ron, no one captures the energy and essence of New York City like you! Outstanding pics! My faves are the first one of the door, it's incredible. I also love the one of the tall building and moon. And what a great street shot of the people standing on the corner with the dogs. Wonderful capture!

Love all the quotes as well! Happy Easter, Ron!

  4. Ron, your photographs epitomize the diversity of New York City so perfectly. You have such an eye for urban photography. I can always "feel" NYC through your images. Love the door and the one of the Empire State Building. Such incredible lighting.

New York City is my muse. It feeds me soul food, filling me with inspiration.

    You can tell, dude!

  5. Yay, you got back to NYC for more photos! Love the darling doggies. And the partial moon. And all those skyscrapers. Love that you had beautiful blue skies and clear nights for wandering around the city and capturing its vibe for us!

Ron, I can understand how much you love the Big Apple. Really wish I could find a place that would serve as my muse, a place that satisfies me on so many levels as NYC does for you. Perhaps I just haven't traveled enough. I'm sure there's such a place somewhere in the world for each of us.

Happy Easter to you, my friend! xo

  6. Wait. You like New York? How long have you been withholding this information from us??

I kid, I kid. Your love affair with the city has been well-documented for years...and it never gets old. Nice touch, adding the quotes. I particularly like the New Yorker building in your last photo. I don't think I've ever seen that before!

    Happy Bunny Day.

  7. Valerie, that is so ironic! We here in the US LOVE H&M! It's a wonderful clothing retailer that offers a wide selection of clothing at an affordable price. They first came to the US around 2003. Over the years they've been popping up all over the country. New York City has several of them.

"It is sunny here, I hope you have some too."

Yes, it's been sunny here as well. And very warm (a bit too warm for me right now). I have a feeling this summer is going to be extremely hot because it's only April and we've had days with temperatures in the mid-80;s,

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a fantastic weekend!

  8. Thank you, my friend :) I took these photographs over the past couple of months anytime I've been in New York City. I've been going more frequently, probably about 1-2 times every month. I found the quote online and thought they would go well with how I personally feel about New York.

The brownstone picture I took back in February when I was in NYC for two days. I loved that brownstone! It's one the upper west side of the city.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Easter! XO

  9. Thank you, Candice :) I took these pictures over the past several months and had them stored on my computer. Some of them are more recent.

The second I spotted that door, I knew I wanted to take a picture. Isn't that brownstone faaaaaaabulous? The shot of the people standing on the corner with the dogs I took more recently when I was in NYC the end of last month.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a fantastic weekend and Easter!

  10. Thanks, Matt :) The second my feet hit the pavement when I get into New York City, I instantly feel alive and inspired. That city truly brings out the best in me.

I have an obsession with doors, so I had to take a picture of the brownstone. Isn't the architecture beautiful? The sun was just starting to set when I snapped that photo of the Empire State Building. I was standing in Bryant Park when I took that shot.

Wishing you and your girlfriend a Happy Easter. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  11. Debbie, aren't the doggies darling? I took that photograph so fast because the traffic light was getting ready to change, so I had to whip out my camera and take the pics quickly. I was so happy that at least one of them came out. As big as New York City is, I'm always amazed by how many people have dogs. And it's funny because the dogs are so well adjusted to the energy of that city. They just calming walk along the streets, even with all the movement and noise going on around them.

"I'm sure there's such a place somewhere in the world for each of us."

Yes, you're absolutely right about that. I truly believe that there is a place in the world where we each feel a "special connection" to. A place that resonates with our soul. For me, it's always been New York. I remember going there when I was only 14 years old and thinking, "This is my home!"

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Easter to you, Domer, and Dallas!

  12. Bwhahahahahahaha! OMG Mark, the first line of your comment made me laughed my ass off. That was priceless!!!!

I know, I can't help it. I freaking LOVE New York. And it's funny because my love for that city keeps getting more and more intense over years. And I have a feeling that I'll eventually be living there.

The New Yorker building is actually a hotel (a Wyndham hotel) located on 8th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen. It's a NYC landmark.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Bunny Day to you and Tara!

  13. I always hear about Hell's Kitchen, but don't know what it actually is. Maybe you can do a post in the future about the different little areas like that and Soho, Greenwich Village, etc.

  14. Wow, Ron, you really outdid yourself with this one!

Fabulous photos, beautiful quotes, and just an all-round feeling of big time love for New York! The city's tourism board HAS to give you a job!

You remind us crusty old New Yorkers why we're so lucky to live here! Thanks so much, buddy! And Happy Easter!

  17. The name Hell's Kitchen came from what that area of Manhattan used to be like - poor and very gritty. However, over the many years it's transformed into a very cool area of the city.

Thanks for the great idea about highlighting different areas. Will do!

  18. "The city's tourism board HAS to give you a job!"

HA! OMG Rob, I would truly love that! Could you imagine me having my own tour bus, taking people around the city, pointing out all the different places? I called call it, Ronnie's NYC Tours!

"You remind us crusty old New Yorkers why we're so lucky to live here! "

It's funny you say that because I think it takes leaving New York City and then coming back to really appreciate how fabulous that city is. I think very often that when someone has lived there for a long time, you just naturally forget how incredible it is.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a super weekend and Easter!

  19. Ron, you never cease to impress me with your photography of New York City. I believe you when you say that New York City is your muse because I can see in your pictures and hear it in your words.

Love every one of these images, but the one of the brownstone is incredible!

    Well done!

  20. Thank you for your kind words, Daniel :) New York City brings out the creativity in me. I find it the most inspiring city I've ever visited or lived. It's truly one of a kind!

  21. Ron, you could be an official ambassador for New York City! Your posts about my hometown city always make me homesick. You're so right in what you said to one of you readers (Rob) about how when someone has lived there for a long time, you just naturally forget how incredible it is. It takes moving away and then coming back to realize how special that city is.

Stunning photographs! The one of the brownstone is WOW! I also love the one of all the people standing on the corner with the dogs. What a natural shot!

Hope you're having a great weekend and Easter, Ron! xo

  22. Hey there Elaine!

That brownstone picture was taken on the west side of Manhattan (around 52 or 53rd street). I took that one back in February when I was in New York for a few days. I LOVED the door!

Yes, when you live in NYC, you forget how faaaaaaaaabulous it is sometimes. I can honestly say that I love it more now than I did when I lived there in 70's and 80's because I feel like I appreciate it more. I also see it with different eyes than back then. However, I have ALWAYS loved that city.

I was so lucky to get that shot of the people and dogs because the traffic light was getting ready to change.

Thanks so much for stopping by, friend. Happy Easter to you and your family!

  23. I always love your residential doorway shots. LUV that first photo! You selected great quotes to go with your photos to convey your love of NYC. The eclectic architecture is amazing and you do a fantastic job of capturing a building's personality. Well don! It's always wonderful when the muse is cooperative. :-) Hope your weekend is awesome.

  24. Aw, thank you, Lisa :) New York City always inspires me to look around and notice all the fantastic sights and sounds. No matter how many times I visit, or even when I lived there, do I continue to see parts of New York I never saw before.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're enjoying a faaaaaaabulous weekend! We're having some wonderful Spring weather here this weekend. :)
