If you've been reading my blog for awhile now, you know that my favorite color is green and that my second favorite color is pink. Which I think is hilarious because I don't ever wear either color. I primarily wear all black.

Traditionally though, each year during spring, I enjoy sharing a post about the color pink because it's a color that, whenever I see it, instantly makes smile and feel happy.

And spring-like!

Please enjoy these beautiful shades of pink...

This is a photograph I found online of an apartment building in New York City. When I finally do move to my favorite city (and I know that eventually I will), wouldn't it be ironic if I found a vacant apartment in this building? I'd be tickled pink. Ha!

I love this pale pink, beautiful suit.
I think women look stunning in suits, don't you?

Pink also looks terrific on men.
*I found this article on pink for men entitled: 5 Reasons All Men Should Wear Pink

One of my favorite cars, a Corvette Sting Ray.
And in pink, no less!

These next several flower photographs I recently took myself...

This final photo collage is from the Audrey Hepburn (1957) movie, Funny Face, and the musical number, Think Pink. I especially love this number because it so brilliantly captures the musical films of the 1950's. I remember watching this movie with my beloved mother on a Saturday afternoon.

And by the way, in real-life, Audrey Hepburn's favorite color was PINK.
If you're interested, here's the clip....

Wishing you a colorful pinkish week, everyone!

  1. Lovely, lovely. Yes, I love pink and I agree that both women land men look stunning in suits and shirts. The colour is so soothing. I always felt good in pink although I don't have any pink dresses now. Something to rectify, I think.
Reading this I was reminded of the oft used saying 'in the pink'.

Hope everything is going well for you, my friend.

  2. I agree, Ron, pink is such a happy color! I love your selections of "pink" images. And yes, pink is a color that both women and men can wear and look wonderful. I guy I used to date loved to golf and during the summer would often wear a pink polo shirt when he played.

Enjoyed the clip from the Audrey Hepburn movie. Such a classy and beautiful lady she was.

  3. I don't think I've ever heard that song before, Ron. I adore pink as well and have a pink cardigan that I only wear in the spring. And I would totally wear that suit!!! That is just my style - I wore lots of ties in the '80's! Magnolia trees are so pretty, so that's my favorite photo that you posted. Reminds me of my city grandma who had one that bloomed around Easter in front of her home. Enjoy your week, Ron!

  4. Don't you just love a man or woman in suit? Not only are they classy, but also sexy.

Yes, you're right....pink is also a soothing color; especially when it's a pastel pink!

As I shared, even though I love the color pink, I have not a stitch of clothing in that color. I may have to purchase at least a pink t-shirt this summer.

"Reading this I was reminded of the oft used saying 'in the pink'."

    HA! Love that saying!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a lovely week!

  5. Greetings Candice!

Isn't pink such a faaaaaaaabulous color? Not only how it look, but also how it makes one feel. HAPPY!

" I guy I used to date loved to golf and during the summer would often wear a pink polo shirt when he played."

Funny you mentioned that because my father was a big time golfer and would often wear a pink polo shirt that my mother bought him because she LOVED the color and said it looked good on him.

Audrey Hepburn was one of kind. There never was or ever will be another like her. To me, she always seem ethereal - an earth angle.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a terrific week!

  6. Isn't that song a hoot? It's soooooooooooo 1950's! I remember seeing it for the first time with my mother on a Saturday afternoon. She loved any Audrey Hepburn movie!

" And I would totally wear that suit!!! That is just my style - I wore lots of ties in the '80's! "

Don't you just LOVE that pink suit? It's such a beautiful shade of pastel pink. I think a woman looks so sexy in a suit and tie!

Aren't magnolia trees stunning? I just wish they lasted longer. I was out and about the past two days taking pictures of everything PINK. I also love cherry blossoms.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Enjoy your week and Springtime!

  7. Ron, I love the movie Funny Face! God, they don't make films like that anymore, do they? What a great musical number....THINK PINK! I knew that Audrey Hepburn's favorite color was pink because I read a biography about her that shared all her favorite things, and pink was one of them.

Gorgeous flower photos! I'm really enjoying the cherry blossom this spring. Did you take those photos in Philly or New York?

Can't you believe how warm it's been these past three days? Monday was in 80's! A bit too warm too soon, don't you think?

Have a great week, Ron. x

  8. I love the Corvette!! I'd drive that in any color. And actually, I don't mind pink, either. It looks especially sharp when paired with black. Speaking of Pink songs, have you heard Aerosmith's "Pink"? It's right up your alley! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfbBqBOSXlU

  9. Hey there Elaine!

Isn't that film a delight? You're right, they don't make movies like that anymore. Even though they didn't have a ton of special effects, they had a wonderful GRANDNESS about them - the colors, the costumes, the music, the dancing. It was so entertaining.

Yes, I also either read a biography or watched documentary that talked about her personal preferences.

I took those photos in Philly. The Rittenhouse Square Park and Society Hill areas.

OMG...I cannot stand how hot it's been these past several days. Monday was the worst because it was 83 degrees and soooooooo humid!!! It felt like summer!

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor. Have a most excellent week!

  10. OMG Mark, thank you SO MUCH for sharing that video link. I freaking LOVED it!!! I had no idea Aerosmith did a song called, "Pink"!?!?!" What a great video!. I love the visual effects!

Don't ya just love a Corvette? And I especially love that year/model. It's very 60's-70's!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have an AWESOME week!

    X to you and Tara

    Lovely splashes of pink!

  13. Ah, Ron, these are gorgeous!! While pink isn't my favorite color (GREEN is, of course!), I do tend to wear it often. It's a softer shade of red and looks good on a lot of people, depending on the depth of the color and whether it's more pinky or orangey. And that model looks stunning in her pink suit -- I remember a "power" pink suit I once had and how good it made me feel.

Your flowering trees are lovely. Ours are a week or so behind in blooming. My friend, I can totally see you living in a pink apartment building, ha! That'd be so cool.

Enjoy the rest of your week -- hope you can bypass the winds we're getting today! xx

  14. Oh my! My mood just life about 1000% looking at all this pink! And, real men have no issues wearing pink. And....why yes, I'd be tickled pink to have that ring! :-) The soft blush pink suit looks lovely...especially on that rail thin model. Not sure it would look quite that stunning me. I totally think you need to purchase a pink shirt for summer! But nature always wears the color pink the best. 💗 Those delicate, pink blossoms are gorgeous.

  17. Helllllllllo there, Debbie!

Yes, I know that you and I both share the same favorite color of GREEN. Green is another color that makes me smile and feel happy. But isn't pink fabulous too? You're right..."It's a softer shade of red and looks good on a lot of people, depending on the depth of the color and whether it's more pinky or orangey." I have a tendency to be attracted to more cooler tones of pink. A pink with a blue undertone.

"I remember a "power" pink suit I once had and how good it made me feel."

OMG, and I bet it looked faaaaaaaaabulous on you! Pink is a very powerful color!

Our trees/flowers here have just starting blooming because our weather suddenly changed from cold to very warm and humid, so I think that's why we got a sudden burst of color. I particularly love the pink cherry blossom trees, however, they don't last long so I try to get outside and take pictures of their beautiful color before they fall away.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have an awesome weekend!

Isn't it something how pink just lifts your mood and puts a smile on your face?

"And, real men have no issues wearing pink."

Ditto! I agree! And I think men look fabulous in pink.

Isn't that pink diamond ring INCREDIBLE? And I especially love the square cut.

" I totally think you need to purchase a pink shirt for summer! "

Yes, you're absolutely right, I do! And I think I will this summer. A nice pink polo shirt!

I was so happy to capture those delicate, pink blossoms because they don't last very long. Several days ago when I had off, I grabbed my camera and ran all over the city in an effort to get as many shots as I could before the blossoms all fall off. I got VERY lucky!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a most awesome weekend!

  19. Ron, I must try and get over to those two parks to photograph the flowers and trees before they vanish. I may do that this weekend with my husband.

Have a super weekend, my friend!

  21. Wow, Ron, you're a real pinko, aren't you!?! Just kidding--these are great photos. I think a lot of manly man types freak at the idea of wearing pink, but, as you point out, pink is a terrific color for men.

Glad to see that you're in the pink! I hope you move to New York as soon as humanly possible and you find the biggest, pinkest apartment house in creation!

    Take care, buddy!

  22. "Wow, Ron, you're a real pinko, aren't you!?!"

HA! OMG Rob, that freaking made me laugh out loud! I always love your play on words!!!

Yes, I think you're absolutely right....manly man types do freak out about wearing pink, but I think people (both women AND men) look wonderful in pink. And I have always wondered what idiot ever came up with the falsehood that women are pink and men are blue?!?!?!

"I hope you move to New York as soon as humanly possible and you find the biggest, pinkest apartment house in creation!"

Can you imagine landing an apartment in that building? I'd be ecstatic!

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a most excellent week!

  23. Ron, I love this post for so many reasons. Pink is my favorite color! And I used to date a guy who looked so sexy in pink. I think men look incredible in pink! Also, I adore Audrey Hepburn, so I really enjoy the clip. I can't believe I've not seen that film. I will have to look for it online because just from the musical clip, it looks like a film I would enjoy.

Your pink floral pictures are so beautiful! That's one of the main things I miss about living in the northeast, the colorful springs and falls!

Btw, I am so loving that pink diamond ring!

Have a wonderful week, Ron xo

  24. Hola Denise!

Isn't pink faaaaaaaabulous? I agree, men look very sexy in pink!

I first saw the movie, Funny Face, when I was a kid because my mother loved Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astair.

"That's one of the main things I miss about living in the northeast, the colorful springs and falls!"

I TOTALLY hear ya, because I feel the same way. Moving back east made me realize how much I love spring and fall. But I also love winter.

Isn't that ring incredible? And I especially like the square cut.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a fantastic week!

  25. Pink and green. Very Lilly Pulitzer of you! I wear pink only rarely, and usually more of a fuschia. And I wear green occasionally, too. I like that pink suit, though. I only have one actual suit and it's a brown and black plaidish wool one with a short jacket. I wear it with a black sweater! I tend toward blacks and grays myself for clothes. But I love both pink and green in nature. My yard has loads of pink flowering plants. And in spring, when all the trees leaf out, I'm in heaven.

  26. "Pink and green. Very Lilly Pulitzer of you!"

HA! That's right, it is VERY Lilly Pulitzer! Which reminds me of my time spent in Florida because they have so many Lilly Pulitzer stores there.

As I've said to you many times during our years of blogging together, I LOVE your sense of style. Whenever you've shared your clothes on your blog, I've always thought you had impeccable taste!

"But I love both pink and green in nature. My yard has loads of pink flowering plants. And in spring, when all the trees leaf out, I'm in heaven."

Me too! And I enjoy seeing pink and green on others, however, for me, black is so easy and simple. I bet you're soooooooo enjoying this spring. Can't wait to see your garden!
