If it wasn't for Instagram, I would have never discovered the talents of so many photographers, artists, and overall creative people. I truly can't believe how much I've enjoyed Instagram throughout these past four years because it was a social and business media platform that initially held no interest for me. And yet, I have gotten so much inspiration and enjoyment from the people I've discovered on Instagram.

For instance...

Two days ago while visiting someone else's Instagram feed, I was led to other feed that when I landed on the page, I verbally said out loud to myself, "OMG...this is freaking faaaaaaabulous!!!!" So of course, like so many of us on Instagram, I started scrolling through all the images; becoming more and more addicted to what I was seeing. At one point, I spotted a link at the top of the page that led me to the website of the artist. And the second the site loaded, I immediately knew that I wanted to share his talent on my blog because, to me, he's special.

Allow me to introduce to you, Australian fashion illustrator, Aaron Favaloro...

At school, Aaron used to get into trouble for adorning his math book with drawings. Now one of his illustrations hangs in Oprah Winfrey’s house.

He has cemented his place at the top of fashion illustration, and has continued his rise by being recognized by Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Demi Moore and Donatella Versace to name a few. He has also worked with prestigious companies such as: Rolls Royce, Sisley, Moet, Swarovski, Estee Lauder and Bvlgari who have all chosen to collaborate with Aaron.

Now I'm going to warn you, I had the most difficult time choosing examples of his illustrations because a) I'm a Libra, and Libra's would rather eat a box of thumbtack's than make a decision, and b) every single one of his illustrations were like delicious eye candy, that I found it challenging to choose only a dozen.

So guess what?  I had to choose a dozen and a half!

But don't worry, you'll have so much fun scrolling through them because each one will put a smile on your face. And please take notice to how detailed Aaron's work is. He has a gift for making his illustrations come alive. You can almost see them moving!

Oh, and when you're done, please take a quick second to visit his website and check out his animated website header. It's so damn cute!

Enjoy...

I worked for Bvlgari for 10 years, so I couldn't resist sharing this one.

I LOVE the whole Audrey Hepburn/Breakfast at Tiffany's reference. Genius!

Notice the late Karl Lagerfeld sitting in front.

And lastly...

Have a superb weekend, everyone!

  2. I'm curious - when you eat these thumbtacks, do you serve them with a dipping sauce? If so, what? I'm thinking either honey mustard or ranch would work best, but maybe you're a purist who prefers ketchup. No judgment here, Ron!!

About those illustrations, though - WOW. I love them!! Even my doodles are crap, so I am in awe of talented people like that. His drawings look like something straight out of The New Yorker! FABULOUS work. Thanks so much for sharing! And have a fantastic weekend!

  3. These are great, Ron, and he's so talented! As someone who does good to draw stick-people, I'm in awe over anyone with talents at making art come alive! Did you notice his darling doggies, too? It's hard enough to draw, I would imagine, but getting what you're drawing to look so real is a GIFT!

Thank you for introducing us to Aaron. Yes, I'll be hopping over to check out his website -- I'm intrigued by what you said about his animated header. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend! xo

  4. I've never heard of Aaron Favaloro but I'm glad you introduced him to us. His illustrations are wonderful - delightful and refreshing, with a delicious vintage Parisian flair. Definitely reminds me of the 1950's or 60's.

Difficult to choose favorites because I like all of them - - got a real kick out of Audrey Hepburn and also the Queen. It's a pleasure to see his work, and I will check out the website.

I've heard of Instagram, of course, but am completely unfamiliar with it. In my profound ignorance I always thought it was similar to Twitter (which I hate). I had a Twitter account looong ago but didn't know what the hell to Twitter about...or Tweet about...or whatever.
I'm behind the times, Ron (*sigh*)

Hope you have a super weekend!

  5. Oh my god Ron, these are so CUTE! I love them all and can see why it was challenging for you to choose just these. I love the bright colors he used. And you're right, they do seem to come alive in movement. My faves are Tiffany & Co., the one with Karl Lagerfeld, and the last two. I love their dresses. Oh, and I checked out the animated header on his website and it's flawless! How cute!

I'm with you, I really enjoy instagram. But initially I wasn't so sure. But now I love it.

Thanks for sharing this talented man. What a treat! Have a wonderful weekend, Ron xo

And me too! I certainly see why you found this Aaron's illustrations special. Because they are! They're magical. And they did put a smile on my face.

    Excellent talent highlight, dude!

  7. Hey, Ron, I love these illustrations!

They are simple but quite elaborate at the same time--and so stylish and lively. They convey
movement and vitality. They are a real celebration of life and beauty.

I'm glad you're putting your time on Instagram to good use. I've only scratched the surface of this site, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

And, by the way, I'm a Gemini, but I perfectly understand your thumbtack diet analogy when it comes to making a decision. It's such torture!

    Have a great weekend, buddy!

"I love the way he adds such gorgeous splashes of color to his black and white sketches. "

Me too! I like that most of his illustrations are black and white because it make the splashes of color even more beautiful.

    Isn't the Tiffany one faaaaaaaabulous?

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a most excellent weekend!

OMG Mark, that was freaking HILARIOUS! And it's so funny mentioned "honey mustard" because I just recently tried a new salad dressing (from Mom's Organic Market) that is deeeeeeeelicious! So I may have to try it with my thumbtacks as a dipping sauce. LOL!

Aren't his illustrations WOW! The second I spotted them on Instagram, I knew I wanted to feature him here. His illustrations are simply faaaaaaabulous! And you're right, they do look like something that came straight out of The New Yorker!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a most excellent weekend!

    X to you and Tara

Debbie, my sentiments exactly! I'm creative, however, drawing or painting are not only of my talents, which is why I admire the talent of Aaron.

OMG...yes, I most certainly did notice his darling doggies. Aren't they so cute? And each one has a distinct personality that you can see in way he drew them.

Being a website designer, I think you will LOVE the animated header. It's sooooo cute!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a most excellent weekend!

    And stay cool!

  11. "His illustrations are wonderful - delightful and refreshing, with a delicious vintage Parisian flair. Definitely reminds me of the 1950's or 60's."

Yes, Jon, you are absolutely right, they DO resemble the 50's and 60's! And don't you love how he adds that fabulous Parisian flair?

The Audrey Hepburn one is one my faves as well because not only did I adore Audrey Hepburn, but I LOVE the movie, "Breakfast at Tiffany's!"

I was not at all interested In Instagram at first. I was strictly someone who only used blogging as my social media platform of choice because I feel as though blogging is more "quality" socializing. OMG...I'm with you...Twitter I HATE! I had an account for about a month 8 years ago but deleted it because it was such a waste of time.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a most excellent weekend!

  12. Hola Denise!

Aren't these illustrations CUTE, CUTE, CUTE! I had the hardest time picking out a selection of illustrations under a dozen because they're ALL faaaaaaaaaabulous!

Don't you love the one with Karl Lagerfeld? He has such a distinct look that you know exactly who he is, even in an illustration.

Isn't the header FLAWLESS??? OMG, it's so damn cute and well-done!

I'm shocked by how my outlook on Instagram has changed since joining. I don't post everyday or spend TONS of time on it. Yet, I've met some of the most talented people over the years.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a most excellent weekend!

  13. Matt, I am so happy to hear that your girlfriend enjoyed these illustrations. Being a graphic artist, I'm not at all surprised that she LOVE it. His attention to detail is phenomenal!

Magical! Yes, that' exactly what they are....MAGICAL!

  14. Aren't they GREAT, Rob!

"They are simple but quite elaborate at the same time--and so stylish and lively. They convey
movement and vitality. They are a real celebration of life and beauty."

I loved the way you expressed that because it perfectly describes his talent and illustrations.

I don't post on Instagram everyday. I usually post twice a week. Sometimes only once a week. And I find it really nice platform because you can connect with creative people who share their work and you can leave comments if you choose. It also doesn't take up a lot of time.

"And, by the way, I'm a Gemini, but I perfectly understand your thumbtack diet analogy when it comes to making a decision. It's such torture!"

HAHAHAHAHA! OMG..that's so funny because Gemini and Libra are "Air" signs, which mean we're similar in many ways. And the torture of making a decision is one of them!

Have faaaaaaabulous weekend, buddy. Have thanks much for stopping by!

  15. Ron, what a great find! These are AMAZING! What a talented man he is. You're right, they do look as though their moving. And it's funny because even though some of them don't have full facial features included, you can still envision a whole face!

Love the Harrods one because I've been there on a visit to London many years ago. And being a New Yorker, I also love the Tiffany & Co. The one of Anna Wintour and the Queen is priceless!

Thanks so much for sharing this special talent, Ron. Aaron is a delight!

  16. Hello there Elaine!

Aren't these illustrations faaaaaaaabulous? They truly make me smile because they have a "joyfulness" about them.

" And it's funny because even though some of them don't have full facial features included, you can still envision a whole face!"

I love that you shared that because you're spot on! Absolutely, even though some of the caricatures don't have a fully drawn face, it doesn't matter because you can SEE it, regardless. Great observation!

You've been to Harrods?!?! How wonderful! I've never been to the UK but I hear that Harrods is a must-see if in London. It's kinda of like going to Bergdorf Goodman in New York - a must-see landmark store!

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor! Hope you're weekend was excellent!

  19. Ron, these illustrations are outstanding! Aaron's attention to detail is incredible because even in the most simplest illustration, three is still so much going on. My favorite one is the group illustration with Lagerfeld. Stellar!

  20. You're right, Daniel, even in his simplest illustrations, you can still see a lot going on. One of my faves is the Lagerfeld one as well. If you look real close, you can find A LOT of fashion industry people in that drawing.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a fantastic rest of your week!

  22. Aren't they WONDERFUL, Lisa? The second I spotted them on Instagram, I was hooked. I'm a big fan of his now.

"Instagram is a fantastic place to discover different kinds of artistic talents."

  23. What an interesting fashion artist - very lively and fun!

I have yet to be bitten by the Instagram bug.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Isn't his work FUN and LIVELY? When I look at it, I smile :)

When Instagram first came out, I had no interest whatsoever because I couldn't see the purpose. I thought it would be more like Twitter (which I am so not a fan of). Instagram is a really great social media platform if you have an interest in things such as photograph or art work because it's a wonderful way to showcase your work and meet others who do the same thing. Also, it's a fabulous platform to showcase your business because so many people use it to connect.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a super weekend!
