As I'm sure it's the same in your area, here in the Northeast, Spring is beginning to celebrate.

Nature is awakening from a long, deep sleep.

What was once bare and void of color, is slowing beginning to drape itself in flamboyant designs.

And as Robin Williams once said, "Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!'"

Last Saturday was simply gorgeous -- a crystal clear sky, sunny, 57°, and zero humidity.

It was heavenly!

So I grabbed my camera, and headed over to the art museum area to try and capture the beauty of this season.

Here's what I found.

Please enjoy a colorful celebration of Spring...

After being closed for a year, Philadelphia has begun to open its many water fountains...

William Penn against a blue sky, atop City Hall...

Wishing you a gorgeous Spring, everyone!

  1. Beautiful photographs, Ron! I really love the one of William Penn against the blue sky. Wow! What a beautiful building. Nature is starting to show itself here as well. Spring and Fall are my two favorite seasons because of how colorful they are.

That quote from Robin Williams is SO Robin Williams. I sure do miss his humor. A few months ago I rewatched "Mrs. Doubtfire." He was hilarious!

    Happy Spring, Ron! xo

  2. Awesome flower finds, Ron! We have had the most amazing spring here! It was 78 degrees yesterday. My favorite temperature! LOL! I love the flowering trees. I wonder if the pink flower is an azalea? They won’t flower here for a few more weeks. Last year, my husband and I planted 200 daffodil bulbs and we have been thrilled with the results. Thanks for the pretty pictures to brighten our Wednesday. XO

  3. Happy Spring, Ron -- these photos are glorious!! Thanks so much for hopping outside and capturing them for us! It doesn't appear that being inside over a long winter has hurt your photographic skills, ha!

All these flowers! And such a clear blue sky! Wow, you DID have a beautiful day! So glad you were able to enjoy it. We've had some lovely days here, too, but we're expecting storms overnight and possibly some cooler weather on the horizon.

Robin Williams's quote is perfect -- and I can almost hear him saying it! We lost such a talent when he passed, didn't we?

Enjoy the rest of your week! xx

  4. Beautiful photos, Ron! You really captured some incredible color. I love those tiny purple and white flowers in the fifth photo down. Don't you just love this time of year when suddenly the earth bursts with vibrant colors?

I've never been to the city of Philadelphia but judging from your pictures, it looks beautiful. Reminds me a little of Boston.

Thank you for sharing the beauty of this season!

  5. Happy Spring to you too, Debbie!

" It doesn't appear that being inside over a long winter has hurt your photographic skills, ha!"

LOL! No, because I was one of those crazy winter-loving people who was out there taking pictures in the snow!

Aren't the colors of Spring just GLORIOUS? The whole day, I was smiling :) just looking at all the color. Like Autumn, Spring is that wonderful transition season in which it just BURSTS with color!

Yes, we might be getting some storms overnight as well. In fact, it's supposed to start this afternoon.

"We lost such a talent when he passed, didn't we?"

We SURE did! I just watched a heartbreaking documentary about the real cause of his suicide. It was a film in which his wife shared so many things the public didn't know about Robin.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a faaaabulous rest of your week!

  6. Aw....thank you, Daniel! I love those tiny flowers too! I wish I was better at flower knowledge because I have no idea what those flowers are called LOL!

Yes, sure do! The color of both Spring and Autumn is such an amazing thing!

"I've never been to the city of Philadelphia but judging from your pictures, it looks beautiful. Reminds me a little of Boston."

Funny you mentioned that because I've never been to Boston, yet so many people who have tell me that Philly reminds them a lot of Boston. And I can see that, even from the photos I've seen of Boston. It has the same type of architecture.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have an AWESOME Spring!

  7. Oh Ron, you see, THIS is what I miss about living in the Northeast---the changing of the season, particularly spring and fall. Oh god how much I miss them. And not only how colorful everything looks, but also how everything smells different during those seasons. Fall, you smell the leaves, the crispy air, and the spicy drinks. Spring, the smell of the flowers, the grass, and the fresh air. Gorgeous photographs! I love those final few ones of the white cherry blossoms. They're stunning!

That sky DID look crystal clear and bright blue!

Thank you for sharing the seasons, Ron. At least I can experiencing through YOU!

    Have a wonderful week xo

  8. Hola Denise!

Yes! And that's what I missed about not living here when I was still living in Florida. I couldn't get over how MUCH I missed them until I moved back 20 years ago. In fact, I was on the phone with a friend of mine a few nights ago and she and I were talking about that. She is originally from the Northeast and was thinking of moving to Florida several years ago, but decided not to because she'd missed the changing of the seasons.

"Fall, you smell the leaves, the crispy air, and the spicy drinks. Spring, the smell of the flowers, the grass, and the fresh air. "

Yup! You said it! LOVE those things!

Aren't those white blossoms just gorgeous? I was so happy to see them while I was walking over to the art museum area.

The sky was INCREDIBLE that day! And it was not to cold or too hot. It was perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a terrific week!

  9. Yes, the first blooms of spring do make my heart sing. Your photos are gorgeous! I'm still putting my spring post together. I've had issues getting good shots because we've had 15-20mph winds and gusts up to 30mph! Nothing stays still very long. I've always wanted to see Washington DC's cherry blossoms. I think that sight would be stunning. My redbud tree is finally starting to bud so I'll be snapping away soon. X

  10. Thank you :) Aren't the first blooms of spring fantastic, Lisa?

"I've had issues getting good shots because we've had 15-20mph winds and gusts up to 30mph!"

WOW! You know, it's kind of been that way here too. We'll have two days of perfect weather, and then it suddenly turns around. We too have had a few days of intense wind.

"My redbud tree is finally starting to bud so I'll be snapping away soon."

Awesome! And I am so looking forward to seeing your photographs. I know they'll be faaaaaaaabulous!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a great rest of your week!

  11. Ron, I was so hoping you would share a pictorial post on the spring we're having because it's been beautiful, hasn't it? My husband and I have been taking walks to the parks in our area of the city and really enjoying the color! The weather has been beautiful too. I wish it would stay like this because I know that next month the temperatures will rise and move right into intense heat and humidity. Spring is such a special season, but it doesn't last long.

The photo of City Hall is just stunning! Hubby and I need to get over to the art museum area soon. Those white blossoms against the blue sky and Drexel building are exquisite!

Thank you for sharing, Ron! Happy Spring! xox

  12. Hellooooooooo there, Elaine!

Yes, you are so right, it HAS been beautiful! And yes, the weather too. And I plan on savoring every second of it because like you said, by next month, the heat and humidity will sky rocket and rise right into SUMMER. UGH! I wish I could got to Alaska or Antarctic during the summer months LOL!

I like the art museum area during the spring and autumn months because there is a lot of "nature" in that area, which looks so beautiful. I also plan on visiting the parks in my area as well this month to enjoy the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor. Have an awesome rest of your week.

    HAPPY SPRING!

  13. Oh, my God, Ron, these photographs are stunning! You capture the very essence of spring in these incredible images.

This is the reason people are happier lately--or at least less miserable. You took that wonderful Robin Williams quote and brought it to life!

Thanks so much, buddy, and party on!

  14. Aw, thank you, Rob! I had such a blast taking these photographs. I was like a kid in a pictorial candy store! Even now, I keep taking pictures of all the beautiful, colorful flowers!

Yes, I agree...people seem much happier lately. And I'm sure it has to do with the weather and being able to get outside and enjoy the season.

Isn't that quote from Robin Williams PERFECT? I can just hear him saying it too!

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Happy Spring! And enjoy your weekend!

  15. Oooo Ron, I loved "Awakenings" too! You're right De Niro was great as well. I cried so hard at the end of that film. What a touching story. It broke my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Me too, Candice. Cried my eyes out! I own that film as well, and no matter how many times I watch it, the ending still affects me that way. It's one of my favorite De Niro performances.

  17. Awesome photos, Ron! One is more beautiful than the other. I really love the white blossoms and the pink magnolias. And that shot of Bill Penn atop City Hall is magnificent! What a great view. Isn't this time of the year incredible?

"What was once bare and void of color, is slowing beginning to drape itself in flamboyant designs." Yes! Spring is strutting its stuff, as if to say, look at me!

You have me all excited to get outside this weekend and take some photos. Thanks for the inspiration, dude!

  18. Hiya Matt!

Thank you! :) Aren't the white blossoms stunning? I think those are my favorite thing about spring. I only wish they lasted longer because they seem to blossom quickly and then fall off the trees. I just recently added the pink magnolias because when I initially posted this, they weren't included. I took that photo yesterday afternoon and added it last night.

"Spring is strutting its stuff, as if to say, look at me!"

    Soooooooo true!!!

I may be getting out there this weekend again too. I can't help it, but spring and fall make me want to constantly take photos.

Have a terrific weekend, my friend. And thanks so much for stopping by!

  19. Glad to see that Philly is in bloom and re-opening, especially by turning on the fountains. We expect to have the Nashua River fountains below our apt windows turned on again this year. Our blooms are not as numerous or colorful yet, just daffodils and crocus and some trees budding. Thanks for showing us the spring colors in your area.

  20. Hey there D!

Yep...Philly is blooming and slowly opening back up again. And you can feel the excitement and happiness in the air!

"We expect to have the Nashua River fountains below our apt windows turned on again this year. "

That's AWESOME! You know, I didn't even realize they didn't have them on last summer until I saw them on just recently. And then it dawned on me.

I bet your area is going to look GORGEOUS once everything starts blooming. Just like you Autumns...colorful and bright!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a fantastic weekend. And Happy Spring!

  21. Ron, these pictures are just stunning! You captured such beautiful color. Pink is one of my favorite colors, so I love all the pink flowers. Those magnolias are glorious. You really have a great eye for photography.

Isn't Spring so special? Just like Fall. They bring such beauty to the world!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Aw, thank you, Clair! :)

And pink is one of my favorite colors too. I also love green! Aren't magnolias such a beauty blossom? The magnolia trees have just started to bloom in a park that I enjoy walking through. They don't last long, so I have to get out there when they first start because before you know it, they're gone.

I agree, Spring and Autumn bring such beauty to the world because of the amazing color they create!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you're enjoying a fantastic Spring season!
