My inspiration for this post came from my dear, longtime blogging friend, Debbie @ Musings by an ND Domer's Mom, who is not only a gifted...
As many of you already know, green is my favorite color.
And as many of you also know, every year at this time I like to share a post on all things green.
Personally, color has a strong effect on me. There are certain colors that make me feeling really good, and yet there are other colors that either do nothing for me, or make me feel anxious. I'm not one for a lot of bright colors in my home or when it comes to my clothing because it feels like color overload. I don't like colors to jump out at me. I prefer them to be subliminal, particularly in my personal space. However, I do get enjoyment from seeing other people use bright colors in their homes and clothing, even though it's not for me.
Here's an example of colors I prefer to live around in my space:
And when it comes to clothing, I pretty much always wear basic black; particularly next to my face. I do own a few jackets that are green and whenever I wear them, people comment how nice the color looks on me. But they are a deep green. I don't look good in pastel colors because they fade me out. I need a contrast next to my skin and eyes. I also have a few shirts in blue. They are a slate blue (a dark, grayish blue).
Like this:
Anyway, let's talk about green because it's a color that makes me feel all sorts of wonderfulness; either wearing it or just looking at it.
About Green:
Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth, renewal, and harmony. Green is the color of nature. It brings peace and harmony into our lives. It is the color of healing and hope, optimism, freedom, and balance.
I took these photographs over a period of about two weeks in various locations -- some here in the city, some outside the city.
Please enjoy some GREEN...
My fresh basil plant. Isn't it beautiful? Go ahead, it's a scratch n' sniff photo...
However, this is what that beautiful basil plant looked like only two days later...
And then this is what it looked like only five days later...
So you see, in as much as I LOVE the color green, I don't have a green thumb when it comes to caring for plants.
No, I actually have a crossbones and skull thumb, because I'm a plant MURDERER...
*note: I've been known to kill silk flowers.
Moving on...
Birch tree leaves...
Okay, and I also have to share the PRICE TAG that was on the base of the birch tree above. Please scroll down to the next photo...
Wishing you a green-filled week, everyone! 💚
*Please feel free to share your favorite color(s) in your comment.
