Preface: I've got a lot to share today, so please take a seat. Thank you.

For the past several months, I've read a plenitude of articles, blog posts and blog comments condemning anyone who won't take the vaccine, claiming that we are complete assholes because we're allowing others to die through our ignorance and stubbornness. Several drama queens even went so far as to refer to us as killers and criminals.

And although I'm far from ignorant, I am stubborn. And I can be an asshole too, when I need to be. Particularly when it comes to something such as a vaccine being shoved down my throat.

I have held off for the longest time voicing my opinion on this topic, but quite frankly I'm sick and tired of holding my tongue because at one time America was a country where freedom of speech was our right. However, we now have that right only if we think like everyone else, talk like everyone else, and do like everyone else because Big Brother is watching.

First off, I don't fear COVID. I never have. Nor do I have any fear of the new Delta variant. I'm aware of them, yes, but I don't believe that they are lurking around every corner just waiting to pounce on me. I knew last year when there was talk of a COVID vaccine that I would not be taking it because I don't believe in vaccines for myself. I've never even taken a winter flu shot. I know it's very difficult for many people to comprehend how someone could be aware of something like COVID, yet has never been terrorized by it. But believe me, I have not. And if people feel that I should take the vaccine for others, I say, no.

No.

Sorry, but I won't do that for anyone because this is my body, so it's my choice.

Or have people not only forgotten about freedom of speech, but freedom of choice as well?

Besides, if someone is already vaccinated what are they worried about, that it might not work?

It seems to me that either way, whether you take the vaccine or not, nothing is 100%. I just choose not.

And instead of shaming the Americans who made a conscious decision to not get vaccinated, why aren't our politicians focusing their attention on the THOUSANDS of untested/unvaccinated migrants who have been pouring into this country and continue to do so? I wonder, did it ever occur to them that that might be a major contributing factor as to why there has been a sudden uptick in COVID cases and that they need to seriously address this issue? No of course not, because our politicians would like everyone to envision them as all-caring, all-loving, all-accepting, and all-bleeding heart, except when it comes to the Americans who haven't been vaccinated. In that case, they turn into tyrants and label us as "The Unvaccinated Pandemic."

*a side note: I have a very good friend who lives in Texas, only a few hours from where all this is happening, so she and her husband keep me well-informed as to what's going on watching it unfold before their very eyes. And by the way, her husband is a native Mexican, who is totally against it because when he entered this country and became an American citizen, he did it respectfully. And legally.

Let me be crystal clear. I wholeheartedly believe that COVID is real because I know people who have been affected by it. I'm not someone who thinks that COVID is some crazy hoax. However, I don't believe for one second that I am being told the truth because of all the mixed messages and contradictions by our so-called "medical experts."  None of it makes any sense. And it never has.

-You must wear a mask

-Don't wear a mask

-Wear a mask because it will protect you.

-No, you don't need to wear a mask because it offers no real protection.

-Wear TWO masks.

-No, wait, wear THREE masks.

-No, wait, don't wear a mask, they're useless.

-Get the vaccine because it will protect you against COVID, but you must also wear a mask.

-Only those who are not vaccinated need to wear a mask.

-No wait, even those who have been vaccinated need to continue to wear a mask because it will protect them from the unvaccinated even though you are vaccinated.

-You may need a third shot to make sure the vaccine works.

And the mixed messages go on, and on, and on...

Have any of you noticed how our medical experts, politicians, and media, are getting more and more aggressive in their ways of pitting vaccinated people against the unvaccinated people because they believe it will intimidate the unvaccinated people into getting vaccinated? They are punishing the vaccinated people for the horrendous sins of the unvaccinated so that they'll get furious enough to start fighting. They're the ones causing this friction while standing back, smiling, and watching the Pit Bull fight. And it's so blatantly obvious.

But I've got news for our medical experts, politicians, and media, they will never intimidate me or shame me into taking the vaccine.

Never.

Nor will they bribe me with $100.00.

So you see, it's not the virus I fear. It's the people who are delivering the messages and their double-standards.

Therefore, this is what I have personally done when it comes to COVID. I've taken my health into my own hands. In fact, I've been doing that for well-over a year now. Just because I don't choose to take the vaccine, doesn't mean I'm not being proactive to remain healthy. And in doing so, I am keeping others healthy. So you see, I am doing my part during this pandemic. I'm just not doing it by injection.

Don't you think it's strange how we have never heard a single word from our medical experts or politicians about the positive things that we can do to support our immune system to keep our bodies strong and virus-resistant, such as diet, exercise, vitamin and mineral supplements?

No, of course not. All they ever deliver is doom and gloom. Every action and word that has come out of their mouths has been fear-inducing because they know that fear causes tension.

Fear. Fear. Fear. That's all they keep promoting. Day in, and day out.

But, me, personally? I don't buy it. I know bullshit when I smell it. I follow my gut to know what is best for my own body and my own health.

I eat well, exercise regularly, take specific supplements that keep my immune system strong, I use pure essential oils, I meditate to sustain a positive outlook, and I spend a lot of time outdoors in the fresh air.

I don't spend time focusing on fear. I focus my attention on remaining healthy.

Incidentally, I am totally transparent about being unvaccinated. My family members know, my friends know, the company I work for knows, and even my dentist knows. I have nothing to hide. And out of consideration for other people, I continue to wear a mask indoors.

If you, your family, and friends have chosen to get vaccinated, for whatever reason, I think that's great because it's your personal choice. And you have every right to make the choice you think is best for you.

But I need everyone who is vaccinated to hear me loud and clear...

SO. DO. I.

You won't ever see me take the vaccine, regardless of how threatening and difficult they make it for the unvaccinated, because I will not cave. Trust me, I am very street-smart and will find a way around every single roadblock and detour they place in front of me.

No one. And I repeat, no one will ever take away my right and tell me what to do.

My body, my choice.

💗 to you all!

Ron, the stubborn asshole

  1. Ron...WELL STATED!! That's all I need to say. Your words resonate my thoughts exactly. You wonder why now, all of a sudden, vaccines are now being "pushed" on getting 12 and younger vaxxed? It boggles my mind.

Hooray for this post...you made my day.

  2. Ron, even though I am vaccinated, I agree with you 100%, people should have the freedom of choice. This post is one of the most articulate things I've read on this topic. And I admire you for speaking your mind so clearly. I agree that the mixed messages and contradictions are ridiculous and do nothing but confuse and frustrate people. I have a cousin who lives in Texas and he said it's been a nightmare in certain parts of the state.

    Powerful post, Ron! Thank you.

  3. Whoa, you really unloaded here, Ron! I’ll be honest in that I have very mixed feelings on the topic. No, I don’t believe Covid is a hoax, but it is clearly NOT as deadly as they make it out to be. The messages put out there by the CDC have been so f***ed up that I will never trust that agency again! But, it’s the government, so I guess we shouldn’t have expected any better?? I’m very upset about having to wear a mask again because it does feel like I was lied to, after getting the shot.

Are the death numbers completely inflated because they have marked everyone who’s tested positive and died from something else a Covid fatality? Yes! However, my son-in-law worked in the ICU during the height of the pandemic and did witness perfectly healthy 30-40 year olds die of Covid. It’s a tricky virus and the medical community still doesn’t know why it hits some people so much harder than others.

Like you, I’m very concerned about my health and do everything I can to stay fit. For me, that includes all vaccines, including Covid and the flu shot. I respect that what I do is not what everyone else must do. I’ve recently learned, due to a new health issue, that everyone’s body reacts differently to even the food we eat. So, what’s right for me is not what’s right for everyone.

It’s interesting how it’s only ‘My Body, My Choice’ when it’s something the far left is promoting, isn’t it? That’s what is most annoying about the condemnation of those who don’t want the vaccine. And yes, I also personally know immigrants who get so angry about the border issue! Because they did it legally!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. You think? LOL! Yes, I most certainly did unload here. And ROBUSTLY! Ha! That's what happens when you hold things in until you explode. Last week I read a post that was strongly condemning the unvaccinated, by calling us murderers, which made me say, "Enough...it's time for me to speak MY truth now."

Thank you so much for your comment, my friend. It was honest, fair, and very broadminded. You, like me, see both sides and are open to that. But we also see the bullshit and are not afraid to say it.

" The messages put out there by the CDC have been so f***ed up that I will never trust that agency again! But, it’s the government, so I guess we shouldn’t have expected any better?? I’m very upset about having to wear a mask again because it does feel like I was lied to, after getting the shot."

BINGO! And my feelings exactly. Why do you (and others who are vaccinated) have to wear a mask?! It doesn't make any sense, does it?!? And you're right about the CDC being the government, so why should we expect any difference?

"Are the death numbers completely inflated because they have marked everyone who’s tested positive and died from something else a Covid fatality? Yes!"

You better believe it because a friend of mine told me that she spoke to a nurse who worked at a nearby hospital, and what she shared with her was MINDBLOWING about the hospital numbers. And that was coming from a nurse who was not lying.

But you're right, it is a tricky virus, I completely agree. And that's why I have decided to take my health into my own hands and do what feels right, like strengthening my immune system.

"It’s interesting how it’s only ‘My Body, My Choice’ when it’s something the far left is promoting, isn’t it? That’s what is most annoying about the condemnation of those who don’t want the vaccine."

OMG...FINALLY! Someone who SEES what I SEE. Yes!!!!! It's okay to use "My Body, My Choice" when it's convenient for them. However, it's a NO-NO when it comes to people having the freedom of choice with the vaccine.

Again, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this touchy subject matter. I really appreciate your honesty.

Have a super rest of your week!

  5. Hello there, Candice!

Thank you. And that's the thing I'm trying to say here. I think everyone should have the freedom to choose whatever they feel is right when it comes to the vaccine. If you want it, go for it. However, I don't want people telling me what I should do or our government mandating it. Because, I don't care what they say, I refuse. And that's my right!

Yes, the messages (from DAY 1) have been totally ridiculous. I can understand at the beginning when they were unsure of things, but come on...it's been OVER a year now and it's the same crap - over, and over, and over again!

"I have a cousin who lives in Texas and he said it's been a nightmare in certain parts of the state."

You too? My friend and her husband moved back to Texas about three years ago because that's where they used to live. And like your cousin said, it's been a nightmare.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Candice! Have a great rest of your week!

  6. Hello there, Anni!

I realize that this topic is a very sensitive one. And I've been very good about allowing others to have their own opinions about the vaccine without getting upset. However, the posts and comments I've been reading for the past several months have been outright nasty and mean, therefore, I had enough and felt the need to express my own feelings.

"You wonder why now, all of a sudden, vaccines are now being "pushed" on getting 12 and younger vaxxed? It boggles my mind."

Yes, and that's what I'm talking about. Nothing makes any sense at all. And that's been going on for OVER a year. And I'm sick of it.

Much thanks for stopping by, Anni! Have a fantastic rest of your week!

  7. Ron, I plan on forwarding this post to several people I know - both vaccinated and unvaccinated - because I know they would get a lot from your perspective. I did get the vaccine, but I'm not going around insisting that everyone else get it too. It's their choice. It's great to hear you talk about vitamins and mineral supplements because I take them too. I'm a believer in both science and nature. I'm curious, what essential oils do you use? I have a few, but I would like to know the ones you use. The mixed messages are crazy. It's no wonder there is so much tension among people. I've stopped listening to the medical experts.

Thank you for sharing your truth. And you're not an asshole. You just don't take bullshit lightly. I admire that.

  8. Ron, as someone who is unvaccinated, I appreciate your words here. I too have no fear of Covid. Like you said, I'm aware of it and take steps to stay healthy, along with wearing a mask indoors But I won't be taking the vaccine. What scares me the most is how all of this information is being delivered and the mandates. I don't trust what we're being told either. And I've stopped watching the news everyday because it's too much. What puzzles me is why aren't they doing things to be more uplifting and positive? It's nothing but negativity. The fear mongering is so evident. My poor grandparents are so scared because of their age. It's really sad.

Thanks for this. I needed to hear someone else say the things I think and feel. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Well done! But man, I wouldn't want to get you pissed. LOL! (only joking).

  9. Ron, this is very well thought out and said. I chose to get the vaccine. My elderly mom lives with me, and I'm the one who cares for her and runs her errands, so I couldn't afford to get seriously sick. I take a flu shot every year, too. BUT I also do my best to maintain health through exercise, eating right, and everything else. AND, I agree with you 100 percent -- this whole pandemic has been used by our politicians as a way of dividing and conquering. They've spread rumors, conspiracy theories, myths, and downright lies ... all in an effort to maintain control, incite fear, and keep us apart from one another, while wrecking our economy.

Yes, it's totally within your right not to get the vaccine. I applaud you for what you personally are doing to keep yourself healthy. And, because there's just so much none of us knows about this virus right now, perhaps you're the wise one not to drink the Kool-aid. I'm giggling over your discussion of the masks! They really don't have a clue on that, do they? I think most folks are "selfish" enough that, had they promoted mask wearing as a way of protecting the wearer, they might not be in the pickle they now are.

Thanks, my friend, for your candid post today. It's timely and logical, and we can't get enough logic these days. Enjoy the coming weekend! xo

  10. Hey there, Debbie!

Yes, I totally understand and respect your choice to get the vaccine. I think everyone has the right to choose what they feel is best and important to them.

And yes, I also know that you things to maintain good health because you're a very conscious person.

I LOVE what you said here because it encapsulates exactly what I see and how I feel....

" ...this whole pandemic has been used by our politicians as a way of dividing and conquering. They've spread rumors, conspiracy theories, myths, and downright lies ... all in an effort to maintain control, incite fear, and keep us apart from one another, while wrecking our economy."

    ...you NAILED it!!!

And thank you for understanding my choice, because many people can't understand why I'm not scared enough of the virus to take the vaccine. I'm not scare. At all. And I know my body and what it needs to stay strong. Like I said, I'm doing my part during this pandemic to keep myself and other safe. I just doing differently than taking the vaccine.

And no, you're right, they really don't have a clue about the masks. I feel that I should wear one (at least until they get this under control) because I'm not vaccinated, However, I don't understand WHY someone who is vaccinated needs one. That is totally wacko.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and feelings on this topic, my friend. Appreciate that!

    Enjoy the coming weekend too!

  11. Hello there, Clair!

Love your outlook! And I think it's great that you got the vaccine. Like I said, everyone should have the choice to do what they feel is right for them. And if getting vax feels right, then go for it.

"It's great to hear you talk about vitamins and mineral supplements because I take them too. I'm a believer in both science and nature."

I am the same! I think there is power in both worlds - science AND nature. In fact I use a skincare brand by a woman who is a bio-chemist who creates skincare with both science and nature. It's a wonderful line. And very effective.

Yes, I use several different essential oils, particularly during this time because they are antimicrobial and antibacterial. I primarily use: eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, lavender, and lemon grass. I used them in my diffuser (to inhale), I used them in room sprays, I used them as hand sanitizer, and I sometimes will place a few drops on my pillow case at night before I go to sleep. I usually us eucalyptus and lavender for that.

I took a wonderful class in essential oils years ago and got a certification.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet words. Hope you're having a fabulous week!

  12. Hello there, Daniel!

You too? Glad to hear that. I thought perhaps I was the only person on the planet that didn't get the vaccine. LOL!

And good for you for taking steps in staying healthy. Smart man!

And me as well, that's the only thing that scares me, the information and manner in which the information is being delivered. And I totally don't trust it. I don't watch the new everyday either. I will tune in every couple of days, just to see if anything changed. But it's funny because nothing ever does change, it the same old, same old, just regurgitated from the day before. HA!

I know, they do nothing to promote anything uplifting and positive. It's all doom and gloom And you're right, it is sad because the most vulnerable (the elderly) are the ones who are the most concerned.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Always enjoy your comments. And I laughed at your last sentence because other people have said that to me in the past as well. I'm actually a very nice (and fair) guy, however, if someone tries to take advantage of me or gets in my face about something, I become very direct. LOL!

Have an awesome rest of your week!

  13. Ron, thanks so much for letting me know about the essential oils you use. I'm happy to say that the ones you mentioned I also use except for the lemon grass, so I'll have to try it. And thanks for letting me how you use them as well. Interesting to know that you got a certification in essential oils. I would love for you to post something in the future sharing advice and recommendations on some of your favorite natural things that you use to stay healthy. I'm always open to new things.

  14. Oh Clair, you are sooooooooooo welcome! And thanks for the post idea. Funny you mentioned that because I have a post that haven't published yet on aromatherapy/essential oils that wrote MONTHS ago. I may publish it soon. Hey listen, if you're interesting in knowing more about aromatherapy, I can highly recommend anything by author, Valerie Ann Worwood. I have several of her books. She's from the UK. Check out her books on Amazon, she's got many.

  15. Ron, you're so right, they are punishing the vaccinated people for the unvaccinated for exactly the reason you stated, to cause friction and fighting. You hit on some really excellent points about what's going on here. I'm vaccinated and I don't regret doing it at all, but I'm like, what was the purpose if I still have to wear a mask? This whole thing is a farce. So many of us thought that once we got vaccinated, that would be it. But nooooooooooo. And I had a feeling this would happen after things started to open up. I don't care if people choose not to get vaccinated. Like you said, it's a choice people should make on their own. It's scary what's going on with all the possible mandate stuff. And can you believe how long this has been going on? It's like, make up your freaking minds.

    Double-standards is right!

Excellent post, Ron. I read it a few times at work this morning and then again when I got home. xo

  16. Hola Denise!

" I'm vaccinated and I don't regret doing it at all, but I'm like, what was the purpose if I still have to wear a mask? This whole thing is a farce. So many of us thought that once we got vaccinated, that would be it. But nooooooooooo."

Exactly! I'm not even vaccinated and I think it's outrageous that vaccinated people still have to wear a mask. I understand why I do, but not vaccinated people.

Me too, I had a feeling this would happen. In fact, I got that feeling at the start of the summer, I had a feeling this was going to go back to a mask mandate.

Yes, make up your freaking minds! And the whole double-standard thing gets on my nerves. It's okay to have freedom of choice with some things, but not others. What's happening to this country?

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Hope you're enjoying a great week!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ron, I am all for freedom of choice and what's scary is how this vaccine is being forced on people. And their scare/force tactics are getting more and more aggressive. Both my girlfriend and I are vaccinated, but we don't believe that everyone should be obligated to do the same. What's confusing are the mask mandates. Like you said, they are all over the place, which is confusing to both the vaccinated and unvaccinated. I too believe they are pitting people against each other, it's so clear what they are doing. And yes to your remarks about the migrants. Total double-standard. If people want to come to this country, I'm all for it. But do it right.

Along with the vaccine, we are also taking supplements that support our immune system. There are a lot of really effective health supportive options out there, so why not use them in conjunction?

Thanks for sharing this, dude. Wise words.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hiya Matt!

Yes, the scare/force tactics are getting sooooo aggressive, you're right. I keep seeing news articles on Yahoo mail that are fear inducing, both about the virus and the possible mandates. And you can tell that they are so manipulative and lies.

The whole mask thing is ridiculous. I will wear one because I'm not vaccinated. And I honestly don't mind. However, I don't think the vaccinated people should have to because (according to the "medical experts"), masks are worn to protect other people, not the mask-wearer. And if someone is vaccinated, who are they going to infect? But then again, that "medical advice" keeps changing too.

"Along with the vaccine, we are also taking supplements that support our immune system. There are a lot of really effective health supportive options out there, so why not use them in conjunction?"

That's awesome! And yes, why not use them in conjunction? I've been using vitamins, minerals, homeopathic alternative medicine for years. And I will keep on using them because I know they work for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Matt. And thanks for your views. Have a great rest of your week!

  19. Ron, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this post. It was so accurate as to what is going on in this country, which is much scarier than the virus itself. I have so much I would like to add, but it would take a book for me to express what I think and feel. Everything you said here, I say YES!

And speaking of double-standards, how about the (soon-to-be-resigned) governor of one of our American cities and the nurse home fiasco? You want to talk about double-standards? I guarantee that will never be addressed, only ignored.

I could go on, but you said it all. Thank you for speaking your mind and not being afraid to say it.

My husband and I are both vaccinated, but we don't believe that people should be forced to take it. I admire you for doing what you feel is best for you own well-being.

Have a great weekend, Ron. xo

  20. Hey there Elaine!

I know what you mean, I could have said more myself, but it would take me forever to touch on every topic.

"And speaking of double-standards, how about the (soon-to-be-resigned) governor of one of our American cities and the nurse home fiasco? You want to talk about double-standards? I guarantee that will never be addressed, only ignored."

Yes, that's a great example! And you know, I used to really like that governor (or thought I did). What a disappointment.

Thank you. I got a point where I couldn't hold my tongue any longer. And why should I, when other people can say whatever they want? I'm sick of the double-standard.

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor! And thanks for being "freedom of choice."

    Have an AWESOME weekend!

  21. Hi Ron!!

You know what I love most about this, other than your eloquent way of using passion through words especially on a "touchy subject", I love that your audience is a total mixed bag of ages, races, and world views and we are ALL AGREEING!! IMAGINE THAT--PEOPLE AGREEING IN THIS DAY AND AGE!!

No matter if you did or didn't get the vaccine, it seems as though people are listening to their guts, and doing whats best for them and their families! The pure beauty of this topic and conversation you've brought, is that we are respecting each other and our choices and trusting that we are doing whats best for us. No weird conspiracies, no shoving "fake research" down anyones throats and no hatred! So THANK YOU Ron, for this opportunity and causing a ripple effect of kindness, listening, empathizing, and respecting each other through communication. Now THAT is a gift! HA!!

    Love ya!!

I freaking LOVED what you said about people listening to their guts, and doing what's best for them AND their families, which is everyone's right to do so.

And I agree, everyone here (in there comments) is sharing opening and honestly, but respectfully. This is how everyone should be because it would making moving through this pandemic so much more positive.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings. I really appreciate that!

Love ya', my friend! And I look forward to getting together with you for some coffee and a conversation!

  23. Well, I don't have to post the draft that's been hanging around in my unfinished post file now! There is a lot of truth in your words today. Tops being this administration/mainstream media/world health organizations are doing nothing but fueling division between people on every front. It's no wonder there is such distrust of them. Now, I hear NYC is requiring people to have vaccine passports to go into businesses and restaurants. AND....because people are forging COVID vax papers, they are also requiring (or thinking about) ID proof. This seems incredible, since "Voter ID is discriminatory towards marginalized populations"......but I digress. After researching and talking with local health professionals we know, we did get the shot, primarily because of Entrepreneur's compromised immune system. And, we know, even if we do get a breakthrough case, there's a better chance he/we won't have to be hospitalized. But, we have friends and family who do not plan to get the vaccine for various reasons. I think it's one thing to not get vaxxed but are careful and considerate about being safe around others; it's another to not get vaxxed and decide to engage in risky behaviors that could cause spread to others. And then there's the politicians who have mask mandates and don't follow them themselves. My question is, if this vaccine is required, where does it stop? Will flue vaccines be mandatory for entrance into businesses/restaurants/museums etc.? Shingles vaccines? Pneumonia vaccine? I agree there are some diseases where vaccines should be required (measles, whooping cough, polio etc.) I'm a bit ambivalent about the chicken pox one. Anyway......great post and food for thought. It's sad we are all pitted against each other on everything from politics to vaccines to race, etc. And, unfortunately, I don't see any end in site. I hope you have a COVID safe and wonderful weekend. X

  25. Hey there, Lisa!

I try to keep my political views to myself, but after months and months of reading articles, blog posts and comments condemning my freedom of choice (along with others) to not take the vaccine, I felt that I needed to express my own views. And what bothers me the most are the double-standard and "selective" topics that our politicians feel should and should not have freedoms. Such as, you MUST take the vaccine, but we're going to allow thousands of migrants to enter our country without being tested/vaccinated.

"I hear NYC is requiring people to have vaccine passports to go into businesses and restaurants. And then there's the politicians who have mask mandates and don't follow them themselves."

Yes, and that's a perfect example. Yes to this, no to that. You know, if these regulations were consistent I could understand their point (even if I didn't necessarily agree with them), but they're not. And on top of that, they don't even make sense.

"After researching and talking with local health professionals we know, we did get the shot, primarily because of Entrepreneur's compromised immune system. And, we know, even if we do get a breakthrough case, there's a better chance he/we won't have to be hospitalized."

And I totally understand why you chose to get vaccinated, totally. Particularly with Entrepreneur's health.

Like you said, there is a difference between not getting vaxxed and being careful and considerate; it's another to engage in risky behavior and not caring. I take every precaution when I'm around other people and I also take care of my own health and immune system, which in turn helps others.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope all is well in your parts and that's it not too hot and humid like it is here. OY VEY!

  27. First, Ron, thanks for sharing your view on this topic. There's no doubt that it's a hot one and yours was about the most intelligent one I've read as to a personal choice not to be vaccinated. As you said, it comes down your body, and the freedom to decide what you feel is best for yourself. You have presented very valid reasoning based on and I respect your decision.

My husband and I were vaccinated as in mid-March because that was our personal choice, and also because we wanted to see our grandchildren and their mom in April. She was more worried about our health if we did not get the vaccination. No regrets on our part because it was just another one after the flu, pneumonia and shingles vaccines we had previously. Are these 100% effective? While I can't answer that (who can?) at least I've never had to test them with an infection.

The news media is a doom and gloom machine and like yourself I am sick and tired of hearing all the dire stories. And so I do NOT watch the nightly news, ever, just a quick read of the headlines in early a.m. and done. Do I believe that Covid has killed people? Absolutely. But is it in the numbers presented? I seriously wonder as it seems to be a catch-all.

I agree that instead of spouting misinformation and mistruths, there should be positive news on how to protect people through some of the ways you mentioned. But, of course, why be positive when negatively seems to instill the most fear in the most people.

  30. Hey there D!

Thank you. And yes, it's definitely a hot topic that I've tried to avoid because I know people feel strongly either way. However, the nasty articles, posts, and comments I've read online where people are calling non-vaxxed people criminals and murderers got to me, therefore, I felt the need to share my opinion and views. They can say whatever they choose, but god forbid we say what we choose.

Yes, can totally understand why you and your husband decided to get the vaccine. And I can also understand why others have gotten it as well. And that's your right to do so. And you're right, does any really know if they're 100% effective? Who knows? Which is why I said either way, whether you take the vaccine or not, nothing is 100%. I just choose not.

And I'm with you when it comes to watching the news, I watch it every couple of days (at night when I come home from work), and that's it. What gets me though are all the articles that are plastered all over the internet (like my on email account websites) that constantly talking about COVID and the vaccine. And like you, I do believe that COVID is real and has taken lives, but I don't (not even for a second) believe the numbers because they are inflated.

"...there should be positive news on how to protect people through some of the ways you mentioned. But, of course, why be positive when negatively seems to instill the most fear in the most people."

    You said it!

Thanks very much for stopping by and sharing your opinion and views. Very much appreciated. Hope you're having a great week. I can't believe it's almost the weekend!

  31. Ron, I did get vaccinated but what difference does it make because we are all still required to wears masks. And as you said, the information keeps changing, even though it's been over a year. I agree with you about our politicians, they are preying on the fear of the people, which is a fear that they created and keep it going. Everyone is so over all this. I went to the store the other day and I've never seem so many angry people. And everyone looks like they're in a daze. It's pitiful what our politicians are doing to the American people with their vacillating back and forth. Like one of your other readers said in their comment, I think the COVD numbers have been inflated. BIG time!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic, which is a hot one. Like everyone here has shared in their comments, I think people should have the right to choose whether or not to get the vaccine. Little by little it seems as though our rights are being chipped away, and that to me is more frightening than COVID.

Great to know that you are taking good care of yourself. Stay well, Ron!

  32. Hey Robert!

I understand wearing mask if you're unvaccinated, like me. But I'm totally confused about vaccinated people having to wear them because the mask is only for the protection of other people, NOT yourself. See, that's what I mean, the "medical experts" make no sense in their information.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. People seems really on edge and in a daze. And that's because after having a few months of no mandates, suddenly we're back to where we started last year. And if they want to talk about getting the unvaccinated people vaccinated, how about they focus on the people who have been flooding into this country for the past six months who are not being tested and then shipped off to various parts of the States.

I don't believe the numbers either. In fact, I never have.

" Little by little it seems as though our rights are being chipped away, and that to me is more frightening than COVID."

    My thoughts exactly!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Robert. Great to see you. Hope you're enjoying the summer and having a great weekend!
