Okay, it's time to share our teenage celebrity crush.

I had several. However, today I'm going to share the one I had the BIGGEST crush on.

And that was...Bobby Sherman (an American singer, actor and songwriter who became a teen idol in the late 1960s and early 1970s).

Do any of you remember him, or even know who he is?

Here, take a look...
He was referred to as a heartthrob, which was very true. I mean, he certainly made my heart throb.

I used to play his 45's on the record player in my bedroom while burning patchouli incense and dancing the latest moves, imagining that he was singing to me. LOL!

Here are a few more photos. I thought he was such a cutie patootie!
Back in the '60s and '70s, wall posters were very trendy. And I was soooo envious of my female cousins who used to have posters of Bobby Sherman in their bedrooms. I wanted one so bad, but all the boys my age at that time had posters of athletes, The Rolling Stones, Woodstock, Cheryl Tiegs and Farrah Fawcett.

Nope, I wanted a poster of this guy...

However, I didn't know how to explain to my parents why I wanted a poster of a heart-throbbing teen idol hanging on my bedroom wall.

Back then, there was no internet or social media platforms; therefore, the only way I could see Bobby Sherman was either on television or secretively thumbing through a Tiger Beat magazine in Grants department store...

Bobby Sherman also co-starred in a television comedy western series in 1970, entitled: Here Come the Brides...

The show was labeled as "mediocre" and only lasted two seasons. But I didn't care because it had BOBBY SHERMAN in it!!!!

Many years later, I spotted Bobby Sherman on various talk shows, and he seemed so down-to-earth, sweet, and genuine. For all his popularity and success, it didn't seem to faze him. You got the sense that he knew there was more to life than being a celebrity.

In 1992, Sherman switched gears to pursue a career in public safety. He became a police officer and the chief medical training officer of the Los Angeles Police Department. And it was reported that he didn't take a paycheck for that gig. He did it to help others.

His last concert date was in 2001.

Then in 2011, Bobby married his second wife, Brigitte Poublon. Together, they created the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation, which provides financial assistance to families who cannot afford to send their children to school. This assistance includes; school fees, uniforms, shoes, food, and supplies. It also provides motivated students in Ghana with a high quality education and music program, providing tools to pursue higher education.

So yes, I had a big 'ole crush on Bobby Sherman. And is it any wonder? Not only handsome but he's also a heck of a guy.

I leave you with this video clip of Bobby Sherman singing one of his 1969 hits, "Little Woman." And notice the 1960's style clothing - leather vests, neckerchiefs, love bead necklaces, and bell-bottom pants. ALL of which I wore. LOL!

Have a fantabulous rest of your week, everyone!

Peace ☮, Love 💗, and Bobby Sherman 👦
