Like Autumn, Spring brings lots and lots of color!

Whereas the Autumn palette is warm, rich, earthy and vibrant, the Spring palette is warm, light, bright and fresh.

What I love most about having four seasons is that you get to experience four different fashion designs created by Mother Nature.

Over the past few weeks, I walked all around the city; capturing Spring. I also spent some time out in Ardmore; doing the same thing.

So, please enjoy this colorful season in Pennsylvania.

Hello Spring!...

These next several photographs are homes in Ardmore. I love the homes there because each one has a completely different architectural style...

I would like to conclude this post with a collage I created; using photographs from an Instagram account I follow, which highlights vintage fashion photography. The colors remind me so much of Spring. Not only the clothing and accessories, but also notice the hair and makeup. So classy!...

Hope you're having a beautiful Spring, everyone!

  1. Ron, Ron, Ron, each one of these photos are more stunning than the next. You have such a talent for photography. So professional.

I love all the pink! Pink is one of my favorite colors. Wow, those homes are beautiful too. And I agree, the clothing, accessories, hair, and makeup in those photographs is so CLASSY. I own quite a few dresses and coats (even pieces of jewelry) that I got at various vintage clothing stores. I travel a lot for work, so I get them from all over. Big fan of vintage clothing. It's timeless! I have a few red lipsticks I like to wear as well. Nothing like a nice red lip!

Thank you for sharing spring in Pennsylvania, Ron. Simply gorgeous! xo

  2. Ron, your photographs are gorgeous! You really captured the beauty of SPRING! I have to say that you have much more color than we do here. And for living in a city, I'm so impressed!

I see why you love the homes in Ardmore. They each have their own distinct and diverse feel. I love the home made out of stone.

The collage you put together using the Instagram photos made me smile. I love that style of clothing. Has to be 40s and 50s?

    Happy Spring, Ron!

  3. Goooood morning, Candice!

Thank you for your kind words. I took the majority of these photographs with my cellphone, which is something I don't like to do because I would much rather use my camera so I stay in practice. However, sometimes it's much easier for me to use my phone because I can just whip it out of my pocket. Quick and easy.

Pink is one of my favorite colors. Green is my second favorite. Those colors make me happy whenever I see them.

OMG, I LOVE that! I'm a fan of all-things-vintage as well. Particularly the late 30s, 40s, and 50s! Classy indeed!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great rest of your week!

  4. Thank you, Clair!, and hello!

I'm so glad that I got out there early and captured this early Spring color because it's already starting to fade away. It came and went so fast this year!

"I see why you love the homes in Ardmore. They each have their own distinct and diverse feel. I love the home made out of stone."

Me too. I love me some stone homes! You don't see architecture like that anymore. There is a place I like to visit (Chestnut Hill, PA) that also has a lot of stone homes.

Yup, you're spot on ---- 40s and 50s. I love those decades for the style. Both women and men looked so well-groomed and well-dressed.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Spring! Have a great rest of your week!

  5. Ron, that third photograph from the top looks like a curtain of pink cherry blossoms. It's so beautiful! Cherry blossoms are my favorite tree to see blossom in the Spring, but they don't last very long. I love the white ones too!

I love the pictures of the homes you shared. I really like the style of the second one. And that tree in the front yard almost looks like a bonsai tree! The home below it is adorable. I like the porch. Cozy-looking home!

"What I love most about having four seasons is that you get to experience four different fashion designs created by Mother Nature." - me too!

Thank you for sharing the colors of Spring, Ron!

  6. You found some great colors, Ron. We have 5 dogwoods around our house, but they are sparse compared to the ones you photographed. I do love the crabapple trees and the magnolias. Every spring, I think of my grandma who loved her magnolia tree in her front yard. We’d always take Easter pictures under it.

That third home is stunning. I love how they painted the shutters green and the porch red. It really makes the whole thing ‘pop.’ It’s supposed to be 60 degrees today, so I’m going to walk with a friend. Wish it was you! XO

  7. Morning, Daniel!

You're right, it does!!!! That photo, and the one above it were taken of the same tree (different angles). Cherry blossoms are my favorite as well. As you said, they don't last very long. And I love how when the white cherry blossoms fall on the ground and look like SNOW! This year we had an early Spring yet, it's already fading away...:(

" I really like the style of the second one. And that tree in the front yard almost looks like a bonsai tree! The home below it is adorable. I like the porch. Cozy-looking home!"

Funny you mentioned that because that's one of the reasons WHY I took a picture of that home. I loved that tree in the front yard. Also, I liked the windows!

There is nothing like having all four seasons, is there?

Thanks so much for stopping by, Daniel! Enjoy Spring!

  8. Thank you, dear friend! Spring came so quickly this year that I wanted to get out there and capture it. The colors are already starting to fade.

Aren't dogwoods STUNNING? The one in that photograph I found in a park in Old City.

" Every spring, I think of my grandma who loved her magnolia tree in her front yard. We’d always take Easter pictures under it."

What a sweet memory! I love magnolia's as well. For some reason though, I didn't spot any this year. Maybe later in the season?

"That third home is stunning. I love how they painted the shutters green and the porch red. It really makes the whole thing ‘pop.’"

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! That's exactly how I feel about that house as well. I walk past it whenever I'm in Ardmore, so the last time I was there, I decided to take a picture. I LOVE the front porch and the window on the side of the house.

I wish it was ME too! One of these days, when we finally meet, I can't wait to take long walks with you. And then sit down and drink a bottle of wine with a charcuterie board LOL!

Enjoy your walk today. And thanks so much for stopping by!

  9. Ron, I'm going to use your favorite word to describe how I feel about your photographs. Ready? FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS!

Sorry for copying, but I couldn't think of a more perfect word. LOL!

You captured the color and beauty of this season so well. Whenever you post pictures of this area, you get me (and my husband) excited to take walks and enjoy Philly. As you know, not all areas are as beautiful as your pictures, but many parts of it are just lovely. And I don't know if I already told you this, but hubby and I took the train out to Ardmore a few times and really enjoyed it. We had some lunch and walked around. It's such a walkable little town!

God, how I loved the photos you included in your collage. Those were the days, hu? Class!

Thanks for sharing, sir. I look forward to your weekly posts. Have a great weekend! xox

  10. Hello there, Elaine!

OMG, that made me laugh out loud! But you're right, that is one of my FAVORITE words, which I use A LOT!

Thank you for your sweet words, dear lady. And I am so happy to hear that you and your hubby made it out to Ardmore. Isn't it faaaaaaaaaaabulous? It's such cool little town that has some great places to eat and shop. And yes, TOTALLY walkable. That's why I'm still seriously considering moving there.

Those were the days, for sure! I watched a documentary a few weeks ago about what it was like to fly in the 50s and 60s, and how classy flying was back then. It's totally the opposite now. Flying went from an enjoyable experience to something I dread. I much more prefer train-traveling. However, if I want to go to Europe, I gotta fly. UGH!

Hope you're having a terrific Thursday, my friend. Have a grrrrreat weekend!

  11. I absolutely adore spring. Beginning again, seeing color changes after winter, and, of course, my birthday may have played a role. 😊
Ron, you're a fantastic photographer. I've added Philadelphia to my travel bucket list because of your photos and blog. Maybe we will even meet in person too.
I wish you a wonderful weekend and hope the weather allows you to enjoy it outside. 😘❤️

  12. LOVE your Spring photos, Ron! I've been meaning to capture some of my area's Spring beauty, too, but I just haven't. Maybe I'll do that before it all vanishes into Summer.

You're so right: these houses are splendid. However, in that first one, I'd be afraid I'd topple down that hill while mowing the lawn, and in the second one, I'm not a fan of all those concrete steps. Still, the architecture is stunning!

Thanks for reminding us how classy styles were in the past. I love jeans, but these ladies look so "put-together" in their summery dresses. Enjoy the coming weekend, my friend! xx

  13. Hello there, Debbie!

Thanks! I was so lucky to have gotten out there and captured the colors of Spring because in just a few days, it has already started to fade.

" I love jeans, but these ladies look so "put-together" in their summery dresses."

For casual wear, yes, definitely jeans, I agree. However, for more of a "dressy look" those ladies look so classy and faaaaaaaabulous!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Hope you're enjoying Spring in your area. Have a terrific weekend!

  14. Helloooooooooo there, Kari!

Isn't Spring glorious? Everything looks so wide-awake, colorful, and happy! I feel that way about Autumn as well!

Aw, thank you for your sweet words. And YES! I would love to meet you in person if you ever come to Philly. Over the years, I've met quite a few fellow-bloggers. I think about 10 or 12 maybe. And it was always so exciting!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well. And thanks so much for stopping by, my friend!

    Happy Spring!

  15. "What I love most about having four seasons is that you get to experience four different fashion designs created by Mother Nature."

I love how you expressed that, Ron! I truly miss the seasons. Having lived in New York, and now Florida, I've experienced both. And I have to say that I prefer having all four seasons over just one. Having lived here yourself, I know you completely understand.

Stunning photos! I really like the one at the top of the post (the purple hydrangea). Gosh, they're beautful. And so are the cherry blossoms and dogwoods.

Okay, and those four photos in your collage? Gorgeous! My favorite is the one in the upper right corner. LOVE that whole ensemble!

Even though I can be there myself, thank you for sharing Spring in the Northeast, Ron! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  16. Having now visited Ardmore, I understand why you want to love there, Ron! I could definitely live there myself. In fact, hubby and I talked about it (briefly). I know it's pricy, so that's only thing we need to seriously consider.

Oh paleeeeese! Flying today is a nightmare. It's bad enough flying 2 1/2 hrs. I can't even imagine flying 8-9 hrs. to Europe. I think I'd rather walk. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, Ardmore is pricey. Even the apartment rentals. I do know that after COVID, prices went sky-high because rents were not raise in over 2 years because landlords were desperate not to lose tenants. I'm still not giving up though. I still look at places whenever I'm there.

"I can't even imagine flying 8-9 hrs. to Europe. I think I'd rather walk. LOL!"

OMG, can you imagine? Or even Asia, which is OVER 20 hours? NOT! Although I will say that the Asian airlines give much better service than in the U.S.

  18. Hola Denise!

Yes, I do understand what you mean. As I've shared before, I enjoyed my time in Florida. However, the weather became so mundane. Besides, I can't stand being hot. Florida is like one year-long summer! I don't miss it at all.

I spotted those hydrangea as I was walking through Suburban Square in Ardmore. They were planted all over the plaza. Aren't they lovely? I loved the color. Cherry blossoms are my favorite. I just wish they lasted longer.

"Okay, and those four photos in your collage? Gorgeous! My favorite is the one in the upper right corner. LOVE that whole ensemble!"

HA! i KNEW you would love them, being that you're into fashion and beauty products. Funny you mentioned the one that you did because that was the first photo I found on the Instagram account that gave me the idea to create a collage. They looked so SPRING-LIKE!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Denise! If I could, I'd send you some Spring in a box so that you could open it and experience it yourself. LOL!

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  19. No, there is no way in hell I could ever imagine flying for over 20 hours. How in gods name did you do it? I know the service was much better than here, but that is a long time to be on a plane. Where you able to sleep part of the way?

    ReplyDelete
  20. No, I didn't sleep at all. I can't sleep on a plane. And it was WELL over 20 hrs. More like 25. We had two layovers too. By the time the plane landed in Osaka, Japan, I couldn't even hear or speak. I was totally exhausted. Thank heavens we had a day off before I we had to start rehearsals. I slept the whole day.

  21. Ron, your photos but a HUGE smile on my face. God how I love this time of year! Spring and Fall are my two favorite season because of all the color they bring. I also enjoy Winter. It's only Summer I'm not a fan of. Too damn hot!

Love the pics of those homes too, particularly the second one. So cool!

Thanks for sharing this season, dude! Let's enjoy it while we can!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I sometimes wish we could go back in time and relive certain aspects, like fashion! There is no fashion today.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Me too, Denise! I love the 30s, 40s, and 50s! And yes....there IS no fashion today.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thank you, Matt! Glad they made you smile....:). They made me smile as well as I took them.

I agree, Spring and Autumn are all about the color! And as you already know from blogging with each other, I can't stand Summer. I absolutely dread it like most people dread Winter. NOT looking forward to this Summer because I have a very strong feeling that it's going to be a scorcher.

Isn't that house fabulous? I love the windows and the various levels of the front yard.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy! Have a superb week!

  25. Ron, you have made me very jealous of the beautiful spring blooms you captures in Ardmore. The reason is that we have so few now in Nashua, NH, aside from some daffodils and tulips. It's not that we had such a cold and snowy winter, just that warmer spring temps never quite arrived on time.

The architecture of those homes is wonderful and so diverse and all of them seem stately and large. And, of course, the yards were just as lovely and well kept. My favorite was the 4th one. Even though the whole house wasn't shown, the stone column was great!

Those vintage fashions were so much more stylish than a lot of what people think of as fashion now. The ones you showed are timeless, unlike modern togs.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hellooooooooo there, D!

You know, so many people have mentioned the same thing as you. And to be honest, our Spring was not as vibrant and festive as it usually is. I was just very lucky to have gotten out there with my camera at that time because a week later, all that color had faded. In fact, I was in Ardmore today and in the 11th and 12th photos down, all those white blossoms are gone. The weather has been very strange, hasn't it? One day it's warm, the next it's cold. I have a feeling that this Summer is going to be extremely hot and humid. UGH!

Aren't the homes beautiful? And so unique. So many of the homes in Ardmore, and even other areas outside of Philly have a lot of stone homes.

"Those vintage fashions were so much more stylish than a lot of what people think of as fashion now. The ones you showed are timeless, unlike modern togs."

    A-MEN to all of that!

Thanks so much for stopping by, D. Have a faaaaaaaaaabulous week!

  27. Helloooo, Ron! We're going to be into full on SUMMER before I get caught up on everyone's posts. Then I'll be too hot to type. haha
Like you, I'm a cooler weather person and definitely love Autumn. But you cannot deny the beautiful flowers blooming now. My daughter gave me a purple hyacinth as part of her Mother's Day gifts to me and the color and smell... magnificent!
I really like the house with the green shutters, red door/floor, stone, and porch. Very nice! While I do like different styles, houses with porches... enclosed or open... are just more inviting to me. I picture myself sitting out there with a beverage watching wildlife, beautiful trees and flowers, people.
    Have a great week!
    ~Mary
