For as long as I can remember, I've always believed in a power greater than myself that guides and directs me throughout my life.

Some people refer to that power as the Universe. Others refer to it as God.

Personally, I refer to it as a Universal God because I believe God is everywhere. And within everyone.

I don't believe there is only one path to God. There are many.

I also believe synchronicity works as a catalyst toward working out our destiny.

Synchronicities are incidents of significance that ask us to consider the possibility of the Divine.

There is a higher intelligence that has our best interest at heart, guiding us toward that which is most right and appropriate for us.

We might not always notice the synchronicities at first because our attention is focused on the issue. However, in retrospect, I can see how this intelligence did, in fact, guide me to my highest good.

Today, I would like to share an example of synchronicity.

---------------------------

One evening last week, my friend Diana and I made a phone date to catch up with one another. Our talks can last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. We can jump from one topic to the other and before we know it, hours have passed. Last week, we talked a lot about the changes that have happened in Diana's life since losing her husband a year ago. It's been extremely challenging for her, doing all the things that two people used to do, but now doing it all herself.

To say that she sometimes feels stressed and worn out would be an understatement.

She has had to make a lot of adjustments in her life in a very short time.

Last month she had an overload of emotions - fear, grief, worry, and anxiety.

Diana and I, like all of my close friendships, have a sixth sense about each other. We can sense when the other one is going through something without even talking to them.

Such as it was for me. I'd been thinking about Diana and her son for the past several weeks, sending them positive energy, prayers, and lots of love.

I strongly believe in the energy of prayer. There is tremendous power in prayer with a strong intention. And that intention can be felt by others, regardless of where they are.

During our talk last week, we both did a lot of expressing our feelings and emotions. We reflected, we cried, but we also laughed.

I think it's healthy to share similar experiences because it makes the other person feel less alone. I never tell anyone what to do with their life or how to do it. I simply share my experience and then allow them to take from it whatever they want.

What Diana is going through was very similar to what I went through when I first moved back to Philadelphia in 2001, so I strongly related to how she felt and told her so. Back then, my life fell apart. And it didn't just fall apart, it BLEW apart. I lost everything that meant security to me. And this went on for two years. Never in my entire life did I feel more scared, confused, and abandoned.

But I knew that if I held strong to my beliefs, things would turn around and move the other way.

And they did.

Looking back, I can see the many synchronicities that happened in my life that were so helpful and supportive. They each gave me a feeling of "You're not alone. We got you covered."

By the time our conversation ended that night, we, as close friends, felt even closer.

After we hung up, I thought about how blessed I was to have a friendship like Diana and me. We've known each other for over 28 years. And in thinking back to that time, I realized our friendship was part of the synchronicity in both our lives.

When I woke up the next morning, I felt the desire to text Diana to let her know how much I enjoyed our three-hour talk and how much I cherished our friendship.

Here is that text. I highlighted what each of us said so that you could see what transpired...

In her text, Diana shared her Thursday's daily word with me, which matched the topics that she and I talked about the night before, such as change, resilience, and staying attuned to the Universe...

*Have you ever had synchronicity touch your life?

  1. Oh Ron, I love this post topic! I too have had (many) experiences of synchronicity in my life. Like you, I also believe they are winks from the Universe, providing us with guidance and direction when we need it the most.

"I don't believe there is only one path to God. There are many." -- My feelings too. There is not only one way to know God. I think we each have our own way because we are all different. Therefore we communicate with God in a way that feels "right" to us.

You've shared several posts on your relationships with your close friends and it's wonderful. You sound like me. I don't TELL people what to do with their lives. I just listen and allow them to figure it out for themselves. If they ask me my opinion, I will share it. But I don't volunteer it because I don't like people doing that to me.

You and Diana sound like such great friends. 28 years!?!? That's wonderful!

I loved reading your text! And you're right, there was so much synchronicity!

Thank you for sharing, Ron. So inspiring! xo

  2. Helloooooo there, Candice!

I think many of us have had synchronicity touch our lives. However, Some may refer to it as a coincidence.

"I think we each have our own way because we are all different. Therefore we communicate with God in a way that feels "right" to us."

My feelings exactly! We are all different, so our way of communicating with God will be different. But that doesn't mean one way is better or less better than the other. They are all unique!

Me too, I don't like people telling me what to do, Therefore, I don't do that to others. Besides, I like figuring things out on my own.

Yup!,28 years!!!! We met when we both lived in Florida. We worked together. That's how we met. We both worked for Chanel!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Candice! Have a great rest of your week!

  3. Ron, your post popped up on my reader tonight, so I wanted to stop by and comment immediately. I just recently experienced synchronicity at work that involved getting a promotion because of someone else leaving the company. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I had wanted this position for a long time, but there was always something blocking my opportunity. Finally, I just gave up trying. And when I did. It HAPPENED. Lol!

Fantastic post! You express yourself so well. You should be a motivational speaker or a life coach! I'd buy your books and come to your seminars!!!

I'm sure your friend Diana appreciates having you as a friend. I bet you're a good listener. And I'm sure you appreciate having Diana as a friend as well. To sustain a 28-year friendship is kudos to both of you!

Reading your text made me laugh because I use a lot of emoji's when I text. To me, they really accentuate what it is you want to say. BTW, I like your bitmoji. I looks just like you!!!!

Thanks for sharing this VERY interesting topic, Ron!

  4. Ron, did you ever read or hear of the book, "Winks from Above" by Liliane Fortna? If you haven't, do check it out because I think you would really enjoy it. I read it last year when I was doing some soul searching. It was very helpful. I found it in Barnes and Noble. So yes, I most definitely find synchronicity fascinating.

"I also believe synchronicity works as a catalyst toward working out our destiny. " - That book says something very similar to what you shared.

I smiled reading your text because it was such a great example of synchronicity in the works!

Oh, and tell Diana that I too read The Daily Word. I have that little book sitting on my nightstand and read it every morning.

  5. Goooood morning, Robert!

Yes, I published this last night. I was going to do it earlier in the day, but I got busy running errands, plus I hadn't quite finished the post.

    CONGRATS on your promotion!!!!!!

"I just recently experienced synchronicity at work that involved getting a promotion because of someone else leaving the company. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I had wanted this position for a long time, but there was always something blocking my opportunity. Finally, I just gave up trying. And when I did. It HAPPENED. Lol!"

Perfect example of synchronicity! And isn't it something how in looking back, you can see how things worked out for it to happen at the best time? It's all about the "timing".

Yes, I so appreciate having Diana as a friend. I don't have a lot of friends, however, the ones I do have are "quality" friendships. I would rather have a few good friends than many acquaintances. I've always been that way.

HA! Don't you love using emoji's when you text? I very rarely send a text without using at least one emoji. Thanks! I created my bitmoji years ago. My friend Kelly actually helped me with that because I didn't know anything about that app.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. And thanks for sharing your experience! Have a FAB week!

  6. Beautiful post, Ron. I also have a very close friend that I definitely share a synchronicity with. She lives about 2 hours away, so we only see each other a few times per year. BUT whenever either of us are having a difficult time in our lives, the other FEELS it and immediately texts. It’s amazing how often it happens. In fact, we consider ourselves sisters. We grew up next door to each other since the year I turned five. And because she’s really the only friend I have who’s ever known my mother, she has been a tremendous support to me over the last few years. She spent an entire day helping me clean out that master closet I shared in my last post.

I also believe in a higher power and I often think that there would be so much less violence and mental illness if other people also believed in something other than this material world. I refuse to believe we have no purpose in this life and that everything is random. But like you, I also don’t tell other people what to believe or how to live their lives. They need to come to their beliefs on their own terms.

Please let Diana know that I’m thinking about her and will pray for her and Nico. XO

  7. Morning, Abby!

No, I have not read that book, but it sounds very similar to the book, When God Winks. I read that back in the early 2000's. LOVED that book! And it was extremely helpful to me because that's when I was going through a really rough time after moving back to Philadelphia.

I know, Diana and I were blown away by how our conversation the previous night, synchronized perfectly with The Daily Word she read the next morning. Also, the fact that we both were thinking about each other at the exact moment that morning!

I too used to read The Daily Word. I think it was back in late 90s. I found it very helpful and supportive.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Abby! And thanks for sharing. Have superb rest of your week!

OMG, I LOVE that for you! Isn't it something how you can feel such a close sister/brother bond with someone who is not technically your brother or sister? I am sooooooooooo happy that you have her (and she you) at this time in your life.

" I often think that there would be so much less violence and mental illness if other people also believed in something other than this material world. I refuse to believe we have no purpose in this life and that everything is random."

Yes! Yes! Yes! Wouldn't it be a much different world if people did believe in something OTHER that this material world? Particularly now with what's going on all over the world. Like you, I believe we all have a purpose in this life and that nothing is random. And the older I get, the more I believe that 100%

"They need to come to their beliefs on their own terms." Thank you. My sentiments exactly.

Thanks sooooooooooo much for stopping by and sharing, my friend. You've added much to this topic. And I will definitely let Diana know. In fact, she will be reading this post, so I will direct her to your comment.

*and please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers daily!

  9. What a beautiful post, Ron! Your thoughts and feeling about God are my own. And I love Universal God! I may start using that myself! Throughout my life I've met people who believe that in order to know God you have to follow a specific doctrine. And that's fine for them. But I don't think it's true for everyone. For me, God is within. It's quiet yet, powerful.

Throughout my life, I've experiences many moments of synchronicity. In my earlier days, I thought these moments came randomly. But as I matured, I realized there was a higher creation going on. So now, I just go with the flow and take them as they come. Much like -- "and follow the path that unfolds before me".

I can't imagine exactly what your friend Diana is going through, but I can relate to her fear, grief, worry, and anxiety because I have experienced those things at certain times in my life. That's the one thing we all have in common. The experiences might be different, but the feelings are the same. That's why compassion for others is so important.

Ron, thank you for sharing this today. I'm going to forward this post to a few people I know who would benefit.

Positive thoughts and love to your friend, Diana! X

  10. Hello there, Elaine!

"Throughout my life I've met people who believe that in order to know God you have to follow a specific doctrine. And that's fine for them. But I don't think it's true for everyone. For me, God is within. It's quiet yet, powerful."

Ditto! Your words are my words.

Me too, I used to struggle with life and try to move it in the direction I wanted it to go. But I finally realized (for me anyway) that my life knows the direction I need to go. And ironically enough, the direction my life took me ended up being the BEST direction.

" That's the one thing we all have in common. The experiences might be different, but the feelings are the same. That's why compassion for others is so important."

Sooooooooooooo true! We can all related because we all feel the same things.

Thanks so very much for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Elaine! THANK YOU!

And have a great rest of your day and week!

  11. Ron, I read that book too! Loved it as well! And yes, it is similar to "Winks from Above."

Also, I forgot to mention in my previous comment that I noticed on your sidebar that you recently watched the movie, "The Holdovers." Me too! Wasn't it wonderful? I liked it so much that I may watch it again before Christmas. I'm a big fan of Paul Giamatti!

    ReplyDelete
  12. OMG, isn't that movie faaaaaaaaaabulous? I saw the trailer on YouTube and was instantly interested in watching the whole movie. I saw it one night last week. The second the movie started, I knew I would love it. And I did. Like you, I very well might watch it again this month. I first saw Paul Giamatti in "Sideways". That's when I became his fan. The whole cast was wonderful.

  15. I think those of us who've suffered through Life blowing up around us are best equipped to empathize and help those who are undergoing such trauma right now. I know there came a time in my own life when I felt like the rug was literally being yanked out from beneath me! I haven't written about it (some things are just too private to share), but that experience helps me relate to those who are suffering.

What a good friend you have in Kelly! It's great how you two have stayed close over the decades, and I'm certain you're both stronger for this friendship. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for someone who's hurting is to simply listen and offer a shoulder to lean on. They don't necessarily want or need advice, as much as affirmation in their power to handle the crisis. You lovingly provided that -- good for you!

Enjoy what's left of this week! xx

  16. "I think those of us who've suffered through Life blowing up around us are best equipped to empathize and help those who are undergoing such trauma right now. That experience helps me relate to those who are suffering."

Debbie, you are spot on! I agree, when we go through our lives being blown up, it gives us empathy and compassion for others who experience the same. It gives us a common ground because we ALL go through it.

"It's great how you two have stayed close over the decades, and I'm certain you're both stronger for this friendship."

Yessiree! I feel so blessed to have that longstanding friendship with Diana. I don't have a lot of close friendships, but the ones I do have are tried and true. And they are loyal friendships. Which, being a Libra, is a very important to me.

"Sometimes, the best thing you can do for someone who's hurting is to simply listen and offer a shoulder to lean on. They don't necessarily want or need advice, as much as affirmation in their power to handle the crisis."

Loved that! I find that listening (whether I'm listening to someone, or they're listening to me), can be more powerful than saying something. As you said, affirming their power to handle the crisis.

MUCH thanks for stopping by and sharing on this topic, my friend. You've added a lot!

Have a grrrrreat rest of your week!

  17. Ron, the text between you and Diana is a strong example of how synchronicity works. I see synchronicity as a Divine intervention that propels us forward with reassurance and confidence that we're moving in the right direction. Carl Jung had a lot to say about synchronicity. He even coined the term. Lol!

"I strongly believe in the energy of prayer. There is tremendous power in prayer with a strong intention. And that intention can be felt by others, regardless of where they are." -- I am in such agreement with that. Prayer is energy. Therefore, it can be felt whether in someone's presence or not. I meditate, so will often pray for others in my meditative state. I am a Reiki practitioner, so I strongly believe in the energy that connects us to one another. Everything is energy.

    Beautiful (and inspiring) post, Ron!

    ReplyDelete
  18. OMG Clair, you're a Reiki practitioner?!?!?! So am I! I received Level 1 back in 1997. And then a year later I received Level 2. I never proceeded to Level 3 because I never felt a calling to teach Reiki to others. Isn't Reiki wonderful?

    I love this...

" I see synchronicity as a Divine intervention that propels us forward with reassurance and confidence that we're moving in the right direction."

    Yes!

You're so right...prayer is energy. And everything is energy, so yes, it can travel anywhere. And I sincerely believe that people feel prayer.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing, my friend. You've added more inspiring layers to this topic!

Have a great rest of your week!

  19. Ron, synchronicity is what brought my girlfriend and me together. No lie. Had things not worked out as they did, we would have never met each other. I missed my return flight home, so I had to rebook the following day. And boy, was I pissed! But had I not missed my flight, I would have not met my girlfriend/soulmate on the plane when I rebooked.

So yes, I DO think sychronicity is majorly involved with our destiny!

What are your thoughts on the difference between fate and destiny? I'm curious.

Great post share, dude! Sending positive vibes and love to your friend, Diana!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Matt, that is such an AWESOME story and example of synchronicity! In all the years I've known you, I never knew how the two of you met! And I definitely had the feeling that you two were soulmates from the way you've described your relationship.

"What are your thoughts on the difference between fate and destiny? I'm curious."

Great question because for years I thought they were the same thing. From what I've read over the years, fate is the preordained path of your life despite what you do. They are events were beyond your control. On the other hand, destiny is something we create through the choices we make that shape of one's destiny. Destiny is not preordained, like fate.

But I also believe that synchronicity is involved in both fate and destiny.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your story!!!!!!!

    Have a most excellent weekend!

  21. THIS IS A FANTASTIC POST. 🖤

I've had so many synchronicities in my life that I keep a note in my phone to keep track of them all. You've inspired me to share them in a post at some point.

I love how close you and Diana are. I remember you writing about her husband's death. I'm sending her and Nico my love.

I just saw a TikTok about angel numbers and how seeing them everywhere doesn't mean they come down to us, but rather that we rise up to them. They are always around us, but because we don't always vibrate at the same level as our angels/spirit guides, etc., we can't always see or hear them. It changed my perspective on synchronicities, as well as how I need to operate in the world (try to be higher vibrational in my daily life).

I truly appreciate this post today. I wish you a wonderful weekend full of synchronicities and angel numbers, my friend. 😘❤️

    ReplyDelete
  22. Kari, Kari, Kari....I freaking LOVED your comment about angel numbers because I truly believe in the presence of angels.

"...but rather that we rise up to them. They are always around us, but because we don't always vibrate at the same level as our angels/spirit guides, etc., we can't always see or hear them. It changed my perspective on synchronicities, as well as how I need to operate in the world (try to be higher vibrational in my daily life)."

Everything you shared makes total sense to me because of the whole "energy" vibration thing. I know you practice Reiki, so I can share this with you. I will often sense (and even see) my Reiki guides. Sometimes I see them as color, sometimes I see them as a feeling. I have two guides, who have been with me on my whole Reiki journey.'

Thanks so much for sharing your insight to this post, my friend. You've added MUCH!

    Have a flawless weekend!

  25. It's wonderful reading about you and Diana connected, Ron, during this recent call and previously.

What you term synchronicity is also in my life. There are certain long-time friends who I can call or see and we can pick up where we left off, no matter how much time has passed and usually it has been a significant time lapse. Regardless, we just pick up where we left off and continue forward.

Also, through blogging I have "connected" with many "friends" who though I may never meet face-to-face we have found a collection.

  26. Helloooooooo there, D!

Thank you. And as soon as Diane and I met, we had an instant connection that has lasted for over 28 years.

" There are certain long-time friends who I can call or see and we can pick up where we left off, no matter how much time has passed and usually it has been a significant time lapse. Regardless, we just pick up where we left off and continue forward."

That's AWESOME to hear! And I'm sure you (and those friends) cherish one another. Isn't it something how with certain people, you don't have to see them all the time to know you are connected. Like you said, you just pick up where you left off and continue forward!

"Also, through blogging I have "connected" with many "friends" who though I may never meet face-to-face we have found a collection."

Me as well. In fact, there is one blogging friend I've known since 2010 and we STILL blog with each other.
