Autumn always makes me think of the movie When Harry Met Sally.

Not only is it my all-time favorite romantic comedy, but I also love how the movie takes you through all four seasons but highlights autumn and winter, my most-loved.

While living in New York City, my ideal thing to do once autumn rolled in was to take long walks through Central Park. Lucky for me, I lived only half a block from Central Park East Side.

Central Park was one of my cherished spots in Manhattan because in a city composed primarily of buildings—small, large, and huge—the park was my escape into nature.

Besides the cooler temps and cozy, comfy foods, I also look forward to fall clothing. I have always felt that clothing is much more attractive than little or no clothing. And to me, I think fall wear is sexy.

Two things I love about fall clothing:

- warm, rich, earthtones.

- layers and textures

Some of my faves...

Fall clothing for kids...

And for pets...

🍂🍁🍂🍁 Hope you're all enjoying this season!🍂🍁🍂🍁

I certainly am...🧡

  1. Oh Ron, you see, THIS is what I dearly miss about not living in the Northeast --- the fall fashion. I do wear a bit here in Florida, but only Dec., Jan., and some of Feb. It's too damn hot the rest of the year.

I LOVE the pictures you highlighted! In the forth photo down, I want all four of those outfits! I love fall scarves, boots, and sweaters. And I agree, fall clothing is sexy.

I smiled at the ones of the kids and pets. Oh my god, how CUTE!!!!

Have you gotten cooler weather? I'm looking forward to when you post the colorful foliage.

Enjoy fall for me, dearest Ron! I'm jealous. xoxo

  2. Being that I'm a TARUS, Ron, I love anything EARTHY. That's why autumn is so special for me because I wear earthy clothes, earthy fragrances, and eat earthy foods. It's such a wonderful comfy, cozy time of the year, isn't it?

God, how I love the photo of those boots! Makes me want to buy a new pair this year. I also love that blue sweater the woman is wearing in 8th picture down. It goes so well with those jeans.

I smiled and giggled out loud when I saw that photo of that adorable black girl WORKIN' that sharp ensemble! I love her crossed legs. What a cutie!

  3. Ron, isn't fall the best? The clothes, the food, the weather, and the holidays. I so enjoy this time of year.

I'm with you, I really love the colors of fall, they layered look, and all the textures. I tend to wear more natural earth tones when it comes to my clothes. I like basic black too. And a nice dark brown.

I am looking forward to when our weather gets a bit more cold, so I can wear those layers. Because right now it feels more like spring here.

The cat and dog clothes are adorable, Ron!

  4. Oooops, forgot to mentioned in my first comment that I am also watching the series Matlock with Kathy Bates. So far, even with only two episodes, I am REALLY enjoying the storyline. I can't wait to see where it takes us. And the cast is so good, aren't they?

  5. Hola Denise, and good evening!

I know EXACTLY how you feel because having spent 20 years in Florida and then moving back east in 2001, I never realized just how much I fall and winter, and all that comes with them, such as the clothes. Florida has its own beauty, however, it does not have the seasons, which I dearly missed.

Aren't those outfits gorgeous? I love the colors.

I added the kids and the pets last minute. I suddenly thought, "Why not share kids fall clothes, and cats and dogs too?!?

"Have you gotten cooler weather? I'm looking forward to when you post the colorful foliage."

We started to get some of that cooler weather last week, however, this week (tomorrow) it suddenly goes to 83 degrees!!!!!!! I'm hoping we get a really good cold snap because that's what causes the foliage to change.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl! If I could, I'd send you some Northeast fall weather in a box. LOL!

    Have a super week!

  6. Abby, you're a TAURUS?!?! How fabulous is that! Did you know that Taurus and Libra (which is what I am) are the only two astrological signs ruled by Venus (the planet of BEAUTY and LOVE)? Yup, we are! That's why we like pretty things. LOL!

"That's why autumn is so special for me because I wear earthy clothes, earthy fragrances, and eat earthy foods. It's such a wonderful comfy, cozy time of the year, isn't it?"

Yes, yes, to all of that! It's truly my favorite time of the year. I'm so glad I was born in October.

Isn't the blue sweater FANTASTIC?!?! And you're right, it goes so well with blue jeans.

" I saw that photo of that adorable black girl WORKIN' that sharp ensemble! I love her crossed legs. What a cutie!"

OMG, isn't she the BOMB? The second I spotted that photo online, I immediately knew I wanted to use it. Isn't she adorable? Not only the clothes, but her whole attitude! She's workin' it alright!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Abby! Enjoy fall you Taurus!!!!

  7. Greetings, Daniel!

Yes, it sure is....the BEST! Me too, I love this time of year. And being that I'm in retail, I get to see all the really cool holiday decorations in our stores. A lot of people in retail can't stand working the holidays. But not me, I adore it.

" I tend to wear more natural earth tones when it comes to my clothes. I like basic black too. And a nice dark brown."

I like basic black too. In fact, most of my wardrobe is black. I have to wear it for work, so I buy a lot of black stuff. But I also wear black on my days off. It's simple, easy, and it always looks nice.

"I am looking forward to when our weather gets a bit more cold, so I can wear those layers. Because right now it feels more like spring here."

You and me both! Today and tomorrow have been so warm. Tomorrow it's supposed to reach 83!!!???!! I can't wait for some REAL fall weather. I had to take the train out to the burbs this past weekend for work, and as I was looking out the window, I did see the foliage starting to change. I got so excited!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a great week! And here's hoping for some fall weather soon!

  8. You too? I saw the trailer on You Tube a few weeks ago and it looked very interesting. And just the fact that Kathy Bates was in it, made me want to see it even more. Yes, the storyline is so good. I like that there's two stories going on - one that's obvious. And the other that keeps you guessing where its going.

  9. Ron, I cannot wait to wear my J.Crew tweed coat this year. It has not been cold enough as of yet, but I look forward tp tje moment when I can say to myself, "Yup...today's the day I wear it!" I also have a beautiful cashmere scarf to go with it. And leather gloves. And two pairs of boots (tan and black). I'm a boot girl Lol!

"I have always felt that clothing is much more attractive than little or no clothing. And to me, I think fall wear is sexy." --- my feelings too!

You got me all excited for fall clothing, Ron!!!!! x

I love the picture of the sleeping cat wearing a sweater! I have to see if I can find one for my kittie boy.

  10. Ron, When Harry Met Sally is my all-time favorite romantic comedy too! And it's also my favorite Nora Ephron movie. I was so sad when she passed away in 2012. She was such a brilliant writer/storyteller.

What can I say? I am such a fan of fall, fall clothing, and everything else that comes with it. I think if you asked people what their favorite season was, I bet most of the would say FALL. I mean, what's not to love about it?

The articles of clothing in all of these photos are INCREDIBLE! Don't you love deep, rich, earthy, natural colors? My apartment is designed that way. I like those colors because they're easy on the eyes and calming.

Those kid (and the pet) clothes are so damn cute! And I love the little girl wearing the camouflage print bag and skirt! I can tell that she's got the making of a Supermodel!

Fun, fun post, Ron! Made me happy!

  11. Ron, the photograph of all those men's pieces - hats, sweaters, coats, shoes, belts, etc. is so sharp! Like you said, there is something so beautiful about the colors, layers, and textures of fall clothing. It's so rich and earthly-looking! I normally don't like to wear a lot of bright colors, I tend to go for the earth tones. I have to wear a tie and jacket at work, so I have a lot of those kind of color combinations.

Best time of the year as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy the other seasons too, but there is something about fall that seems extra-special.

As others said in their comments, the kid and pet shots are so cute. I wonder if my dog would ever allow me to put a coat/sweater/scarf on him? I can barely get a collar and leash on him Lol!

  12. Good morning, Clair!

I love anything J Crew!!!! I love their style. So classic, clean, minimal style! And I also love anything TWEED!

" I also have a beautiful cashmere scarf to go with it. And leather gloves. And two pairs of boots (tan and black). I'm a boot girl Lol!"

Oooooo....sounds awesome! And speaking of boots, I bought a pair (in black) towards the end of last winter but never got a chance to wear them, so it will be like wearing brand new boots this year!

I feel like you, I'm looking forward to the day when I can start wearing my sweaters, jackets, scarves, and gloves, and laying.

Isn't that sleeping cat adorable? It looks all cozy and comfy, sleeping on its back.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a fantabulous week!

  13. Helloooooooooo there, Candice!

" And it's also my favorite Nora Ephron movie. I was so sad when she passed away in 2012. She was such a brilliant writer/storyteller."

Ditto! There isn't a book or film by Nora Ephron that I didn't love. Me too, I felt so sad when she passed. She died only a few months before my mother in 2012. When Harry Met Sally is my favorite. I also love You've Got Mail. And did you ever see, Heartburn? SO GOOD!

Isn't fall the best of the best? Like you said, what's NOT to love? I am so glad I was born in fall!

Like you, I'm more attracted to earthy, natural/neutral colors in my living space because I live in a studio apartment and those colors give more of a "spacy" space.

"And I love the little girl wearing the camouflage print bag and skirt! I can tell that she's got the making of a Supermodel!"

Isn't she a HOOT? Yes....she is definitely Supermodel material! I can picture her strutting on a runway!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Candice! Have a grrrrreat week!

  14. Yes Ron, I've seen "Heartburn" many times and really loved it. The chemistry between Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson is incredible. Also, I didn't realize until much later that the story is based on Nora Ephron's life and her marriage.

  15. I agree that Fall clothing is the best AND the colors are also the best, too. The first time I ever thought about this wardrobe change was my freshman year of college when my best friend at the time was so excited about finally getting out her sweaters. October always makes me think of her. She LOVED Ralph Lauren everything, which also makes me think of Fall clothing. Classic!

I’m trying to embrace the colder temps because I really do like wearing jeans, sweaters, and furry coats. The 4 women in a row with sunglasses look amazing! I wish I had somewhere to go so I could dress like them! Thanks for the inspiration, Ron! XO

  16. Greetings, Robert!

Aren't those men's pieces so sharp? And so handsome too! I love the dark, rich earthiness!

" I normally don't like to wear a lot of bright colors, I tend to go for the earth tones. I have to wear a tie and jacket at work, so I have a lot of those kind of color combinations."

You sound a lot like me. I love bright colors on other people, just not on myself. I like more neutral tones. I also wear a lot of black.

"but there is something about fall that seems extra-special."

    Yesireee! I agree!

I see so many people on that streets who put sweaters, jackets, and even RAIN COATS on their dogs! Cats, not so much. But I do follow a guy on Instagram who is a veterinarian who puts these cute little knitted caps on his cats. ADORABLE!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend! Hope you're having a great week!

  17. Yes, aren't they the BEST?!?! So rich and earthy! I also adore the feel of the various textures of fall clothing.

I love that you shared your freshman year of college story!

"She LOVED Ralph Lauren everything, which also makes me think of Fall clothing. Classic!"

Ralph Lauren is TOTAL American classic! I used to enjoy looking at all the print ads in magazine back then, that highlighting RL clothes. I also enjoyed many of his fragrances!

It really hasn't been cold here so far, this fall. Today it's supposed to reach 83. Can you believe that? However, I do see that the weekend, and next week, it's going to get much cooler. I can't wait to bring out my turtlenecks, sweaters, and jackets.

"The 4 women in a row with sunglasses look amazing! I wish I had somewhere to go so I could dress like them! "

I freaking LOVE that photo too! They look so sharp, don't they?

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend! Have a faaaaaaaabulous week!

Yes! Yes! Yes! They had the best chemistry in that movie. And me too, I didn't find out about the film being based on Nora Ephron's own marriage. I think I discovered that after watching the documentary her son made of her life called, Everything Is Copy.

  19. Oh, Ron, me, tooooo!! I just love Fall clothing. Always have. As summer wanes, I can hardly wait to get back into my sweaters and boots!

You've highlighted some gorgeous styles here (and the models are so attractive!). I love corduroy and flannel. Fleece, too. Earth tones aren't especially flattering to my "summery" complexion, but as you said, layering works. And some of the colors now are flattering for everybody.

Those pets in coats are too cute! Monk isn't much of a lover of dressing up, but he won't refuse if there's something in it for him -- like a treat or a walk! And I love putting him in his winter coat on a sunny, cold day.

This post puts us all in the mood for Fall -- nicely done, my friend! xx

  20. Hellooooooooo there, Debbie!

"As summer wanes, I can hardly wait to get back into my sweaters and boots!"

Meeeeeeeeeeee too! I slowly start pulling them from the back of my clothes closet and move them front and center. However, as of late, the weather has been unseasonally warm. Today it was suppose to reach 83, but I just saw online that it's going to 85!

"I love corduroy and flannel. Fleece, too."

OMG, me too! When I was growing up, I had so many pairs of corduroy pants and overalls, and is different colors.

I feel as you do, with my summery/pink undertone skin, not all earth tones work for me. I can do them if they have a lot of blue/gray in them.

Aren't those pet coats soooooooooo cute? Thinking back to when I had two cats at one time, I'm not so sure they'd be lovers of dressing up either. But OMG....they are adorable!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Tuesday to you and the Monk!

  21. That’s one of my favorite movies, too! You know it’s a classic when the clothing is still iconic after all these years. 🖤

I absolutely love fall and winter fashion—it’s so much better than summer! The colors, the textures, and let's be real... it hides a lot. 🤣

And that little girl in the camo skirt with high tops?? LOVE.

I hope your weather has cooled down! Ours is much nicer today... 71 degrees and windy as I’m writing this!

Great post, my dear friend! 😘🍂🍁

  22. Hey there, Kari!

Isn't that movie the best? I don't care how many times I watch it (I have it on DVD), I enjoy it as if I'm seeing it for the very first time!

"You know it’s a classic when the clothing is still iconic after all these years. 🖤"

    So true!!!!

I love what you said about fall and winter fashion - the color, texture, and it HIDES a lot. Lol! And I also feel it leaves something to the imagination on what's underneath the clothing. Ha!

Isn't she ADORABLE? And I love her whole "attitude" - it's flawless!

Lucky you. It's been extremely warm here for the past three days. Yesterday it reached 85 degrees. UGH! However, as we move into Friday and the weekend, it goes back to FALL weather.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a faaaaaaaabulous rest of your week!

  23. Ron, I could never live in a place that didn't have four seasons because I always look forward to the "shift" into each one. I enjoy all the seasons, but I have to say that autumn is my favorite. And much like you, I love the clothes and the colors. I also like as the days get shorter. I'm a night person, so I don't mind when it starts getting dark at 5PM.

These clothes are such wonderful examples of why fall fashion is so special. That photo collage of the woman wearing four different ensembles is gorgeous.

I have a cat, and that picture of the one in the wool sweater is so cute! Don't you love how comfortable cats always look when they sleep? That one of the dog is cute too!

How did you create that cartoon of you enjoy the leaves? Adorable!

    Happ Fall, Ron!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hello there, Samantha!

What you said about the "shift" and shorter days is SO me! I''m also a lover of shorter days because I much prefer nighttime. Although I will say that over the years, I've gotten to really appreciate early mornings. It's so nice a quiet in early morning. Especially living in a city.

Aren't those ensembles in that photo awesome? I love the muted colors.

"Don't you love how comfortable cats always look when they sleep? "

Yes! At one point in my life, I had two cats (mother and son), and my favorite thing to do was to watch them sleep. I don't care what position they're in, they ALWAYS look so comfortable.

I created that cartoon on Bitmoji and then forwarded it to my email address. It's actually two cartoons that I edited together.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Samantha! Have a fabulous week and fall season!

  25. Ron, I went completely GAGA over this post! These clothes are (in your famous word) faaaaaaaaaaabulous! LOL!!! And as you know, like you, fall and winter are "my" times of the year. Make me cold, but please don't make me hot. And have you felt how warm it's been here lately? It feels like spring moving into summer. But I do see that it's about the change. Thank GOD!

So many things I want to say - I love "When Harry Met Sally" because it was all filmed in my hometown...NEW YORK! And I feel the same about fall clothes, sexy. Those boots are my taste in style. I love the scarves on those two very attractive ladies in the 7th photo from the top. And the pics of the cat and dog are precious beyond!

I knew you had lived in Manhattan, but I didn't know you lived that close to Center Park East?!? That's wonderful. I'm sure your rent was insane.

Thank you for posting this, Mr. Man. Made me (and my hubby) smile! xo

  26. Hey there, Elaine!

Yes, aren't they faaaaaaaaaabulous????? I know, I use that word a lot. And that's because it's faaaaaaaaabulous!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

"Make me cold, but please don't make me hot."

You took the words right out of my mouth. I feel exactly the same. And yes, where the hell did that October heatwave come from?!?! For the past two days, I've been where short sleeve shirts and sweating. I can't wait until tomorrow because I saw on the weather channel that it drops down into the low 60s. Hallelujah!!!!

I know, part of why I love that move is because of where they shot it....NYC!

I felt tremendously lucky that my partner and I lived in that area because it was so beautiful. I think we paid in the late 70s) around $350.00 for a studio. Which, back then, was expensive. However, now, that price would be just for your utilities! Lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a great rest of your week, and enjoy the cooler weather!

  27. As you know, me (and my girlfriend) go apeshit over autumn and winter. We love the weather, the clothing, the shorter days, the food, and just the overall FEEL of those two seasons. They're GOTH!

Great examples of what's so great about fall clothing, Ron! Like you shared, it's the colors and the textures that so special. I too like to layer.

The pet clothing ROCKS! So do the kids! That one little girl on the lower left is killing that outfit!

Happy Fall, dude! And may it continue right into winter!

  28. "We love the weather, the clothing, the shorter days, the food, and just the overall FEEL of those two seasons. They're GOTH!"

Yes, to my fellow-GOTH-lovers! I too enjoy shorter days. When you live in a city, the early darkness and colder temps make the streets less crowded and much more peaceful. Summer is the worst time to live in a city - the streets are LOUD, SMELLY, and filled with people acting CRAZY.

"That one little girl on the lower left is killing that outfit!"

Isn't she SPECIAL? Love her whole attitude!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Matt! Happy Fall to you too! And yes, may it continue right into WINTER!
