I had a very strange weekend….
It all started on Saturday morning, when I woke up with a case of butter-fingers. I swear to god, every single object I tried to pick up…I dropped. And not only did I drop things, but my body coordination had about a 30 second delay to my brain coordination.
You should have seen me making coffee with my French press.
Every time I tried to add a scoop of coffee into the beaker, the scooper hit the rim of the glass; sending coffee grounds flying all over the kitchen. My entire kitchen-nook looked like it had snowed java.
And lets not even talk about shaving my face.
I dropped the razor twice, and nicked my face at least four times.
I had blood dripping from my chin, cheek, adam's apple, and the side of my nostril.
By the time I had finished, it looked like I had tried to commit suicide one feature at time.
And it didn’t stop there, because all day at work I was like a human tornado. While walking past one of the fragrance counters, my right shoulder hit a stack of gifts sets, which caused an avalanche of falling boxes. Then around midday, while talking to a customer, I accidentally backed into a glass display table; making all the perfume bottles hit the floor. Luckily, not one of them broke.
But I think there must have been something in the air this weekend, because I noticed that a lot of people at work were having this same issue.
At certain points throughout the day, you could hear the sounds of things crashing all over the department. Every half hour or so, you would hear SMASH! CRASH! BAM! SCREAM!…SMASH! CRASH! BAM! SCREAM!
And then all the employees would look at one another and say, “oops…not another one?!?”
I also noticed that there were more than the usual percentage of mentally insane customers walking through the store. Several times when I would approach a customer and say, “Hi, can I assist you?” They acted like I was saying, “Hi, I have herpes…can I kiss you?”
Another thing that made me feel strange this weekend, was the time change.
I know it’s only one hour, but for some reason, every time the clocks spring forward…I feel like I’m experiencing a six hour European jet lag.
All day at work yesterday, it felt as though my brain was filled with cotton balls. I felt tired, sluggish, cranky, and found myself acting like Joan Crawford whenever she saw a wire hanger.
In fact, there was a point when I had to put my hands in my pockets, because I seriously wanted to slap someone.
Gee…I wonder if part of this strange weekend had anything to do with experiencing what I like to refer to as the male version of P.M.S.
I.M.S.
Irritable Male Syndrome
Is it a full moon? The 4 of us are just spending a lazy Sunday at home just in case it is a full moon and the donkeys drive more like nutsos than usual.
ReplyDeleteHi Ron,
ReplyDeleteHoly Moses !!! Are you coming down with something, like Spring fever ??
I have had the "Butterfingers syndrome" but not like this !
Easy on the cafeine too, amigo. That's a stimulant.
What that was I hope that you have a calm Monday.
Pssst; BTW it's Deb's B day today !
Stop by my blog ;)
Big hugs to you
XXXX
I think I'm the only one on this part of the planet who remembered to move the clock.....leastwise it felt like that when I showed up Sunday morning to my usual haunts. The good news is I showed up on time.
ReplyDeleteThe bad news is when folks did straggle in, they were human pinballs bumping into this and that and grumbling.
I just smiled and got outta their way.
And made pinball machine noises....LOL
Ron, You don't come across as a tempered type of guy. I would have to say it was the time change and that its a good job for you that it only happens twice a year.
ReplyDeleteWow! You need a mini vacation!! LOL
ReplyDeleteA few things probably contributed to you feeling a bit off. Daylight savings messes alot of people up!! You are sensitive so that probably amplified things. Also, the weather changing. Being a lover of the cold temps, the heat wave Saturday might have been enough to make you feel different. It sure had everyone and their grandmother out and about. It's weird to be driving one day and not see so many people out and then the next to be dodging bodies all over the place... they were running, power walking, dog walking, playing sports, gardening. That first day of really good Spring weather just gets everyone GOING! Of course the Moon in Leo adds to the drama of things. It's an energetic fiery moon. Also though, astrologically speaking, Venus went retrograde... Friday, I think. So maybe because you are a Libran, and ruled by Venus, you are feeling that too.
Venus rules things like cosmetics and clothing and jewelry and things that make us feel good. Even though it doesn't really have anything to do with coffee and shaving, maybe, again, you might be sensitive to that energy and those are things you do to feel good! So that we're in the first few days of a retrograde, your body needed time to get used to the change of energy.
So with a Leo moon saying get out there and partay and be seen, and a retro Venus saying slow down, stay in, well, it's no wonder people are a bit strange. Venus only retrogrades every 18 months and it's a cycle that everyone has to adjust to in their own way. I wonder if you will notice any drop in sales over the next few weeks. Your business is primarily dealing with Venusian items, right? Or wonder if people will buy and then want to return stuff. ?? Let me know if you notice anything a little different with people that way.
Of course those with a prominent Aries or Pisces in their chart might feel the effects more as those are the signs of the retrograde this cycle.
Have a wonderful week. :)
I was in a grouchy mood all weekend myself. Something told it it best to lay low and so I did. I read and read and read. Hope your day is better today!
ReplyDeleteAloha Debi!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, because one of the women I worked with yesterday, walked up to me and said, "Ron...is it a full moon or someting? What the hell is it with all these crazy people today???"
AAaaaaaooooooooow!
You could actually hear the werewolves howling at the moon!
HAAHHAHAHAHAHA!
Good for you Deb, for spending the day at home with the pooch puppies.
Woof woof!
Thanks for stopping by my friend!
Happy Monday to ya!

Bonjour Barbara!
ReplyDeleteHOLY MOSES is right!
YEEEEHAAAAW!
I was one cranky beast!
GRRRRRRRRrrrrrr!
It was just one of those "off weekends" I guess...

HEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHE!
Oh, well...it's now Monday and I feel MUCHO better!
Thanks for dropping by today, Barb!
Hope you had a marvi weekend!

Happy Monday!

Morning Dear Mel!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that!!!
Yes! And I was "one" of those pinball people.
ping! pang! ping! pang!
And it's funny you mentioned setting the clocks, because I actually left myself a message on my voice mail at home; reminding me to move the clocks forward, cause I had to work the next day and didn't want to me late.
*don't you LOVE being an anal Libra???
tee, hee!
Thanks for dropping by this morning, dear lady!
HAPPY MONDAY TO YA!
Hey...and Spring is almost here!!!
X
I hate days like that! We don't put the clocks forward until the end of March and I hate losing that hour.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of the week is calmer for you. x
Howdy Grumpy!
ReplyDeleteI know...several people have shared that same thing.
I'm basically a very happy person most of the time, but BOY, when I lose my temper...I'm not a pretty sight.
You can ask any of my close friends, they'll tell you...oy vey!
I've gotten much better with age, but my temper can still rear it's ugly head at times.
And this weekend, it was in full BLOOM!
tee, hee!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, Grumpy!
So glad you're here!
HAPPY MONDAY TO YA!

Hellooooo Crystal Chick!
ReplyDeleteOMG...thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your knowledge of the stars, dear friend!
And you were so RIGHT ON about everything, so I believe it!!!
I felt SO SENSITIVE to the energy around me this weekend.
And yes! My moon is in Aries, so I was definately feeling the effects of the cyle, I can vouch for that!!!
OMG...it's funny that you mentioned customers buying and returning things, because that's what this whole weekend was at the store. However, I'm amazed at how well my business is doing right now - I feel tremendously blessed.
I think this weekend was a combination of many things for me, the stars, the time change, and a shift in my own personal energy.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge, M!
You explained a lot to me!!!
I actually feel much better today.
Happy Monday to ya, neighbor!
X
Hiya Hope!
ReplyDeleteaaaahh....so you felt it too??
I've had several people at work share the same thing with me.
Everyone kept asking, "Is it a full moon or something??"
It's wonderful that you layed low and read. That's the best thing you could have done, trust me, because it was INSANE out there!!
*and I hope you didn't shave your legs this weekend!
HAHHAAHHAHHAHA!
Thanks for dropping by, Hope!
Always great seeing ya!
HAPPY MONDAY!

Afternoon Akelamalu!
ReplyDeleteAren't days like this, the BEST????
HAHAHAHAHAHHA!
You know, we normally don't change the clocks until April, but starting last year, we switched it to March. And it's weird how that one hour makes a difference, isn't?
Thanks for stopping by, dear lady!
And yes....I felt much calmer when I woke up this morning.
*it must have been because of my VENT!!!!
tee, hee!
Happy Monday to ya!

I absolutely loath the time changes. Why not just move the damn thing a half hour so it's in the middle, then leave it the hell alone!?!
ReplyDeleteAnd why does Arizona get to keep the same time all year while the rest of us have to go through the "jet lag" syndrome like you alluded to?
Hope your klutziness has subsided now. Guess it's a good thing you don't drive a car or it could have been a lot worse!
Howdy Jeff!
ReplyDeleteYou said it bud!
Why the hell don't we just move it in the middle and just leave it the hell alone!?!?!??
I mean, why do we do this silly thing anyway?
Hey, ya know something? I actually didn't know that about Arizona, I had no idea!?
OMG, and you're right...thank god I don't have a car anymore, because my photo is in the dictionary under road rage!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Feeling much better today, though.
The demon has left me!!!
Thanks for stopping by my friend!
Happy Monday to ya!
I absolutely HATE this time change! It screws me up for weeks.
ReplyDeleteI call mine - Phantom PMS. It's a good thing I don't own a gun.
Howdy Sista' Nitebyrd!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!
Phantom PMS!
OMG, Nitebyrd...I know you are related in some way, because the same things PISS us off!
Thank god I woke up this morning feeling more like the character Beth in Little Women!
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA!
As always, I thank you for stopping by dear lady. It helps to know that you KNOW!
Have a great evening!
Love ya!

Hello Ron,
ReplyDeleteI know all about having clutsy days I have had my share. I was over at your other blog.
I too have been using Liquid Mind for over ten years I have the complete collection. It is so soothing during the healing sessions and when I meditate I put the CD's on.
Stay well my bump in the dark friend.
ha...isn't that the truth. I felt better coming and going to Oz then taking that sping forward hours away.
ReplyDeleteI was late to work. Not that I have a set time...but I do have things to do..like, I totally missed my 'morning just-got-here' nap.
And today everyone looked like tat wanted to slap me. Okay...that new gal in traffic...did slap me and I deserved it. I did afterall give her a salp on the behind...How was I to know, she looked like Rhonda from the same traffic department. She did say she was sorry though and wanted to make it upi to me...said I could slap her ass again.
Who am I to say no to a gal that is trying to make up. hehehe.
Actually she aid she was looking forward to working with me...I think I've made a froend here. hehehe.
That's it though...next time the times changes, I'm taking it on the the lamb, yah see.
I'm telling my gal to ties me upo and call in to worl for me...I'm not coming in. And while I'm tied...hehehe
Ciao sweetie...you rock. You had me rolling with the herpe kiss thingy...ha.
Hellooooo Mr. Dave!
ReplyDeleteThings that go BUMP in the night!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
And I wouldn't have been surprised if I had seen a stick of butter in my hands all weekend!
Hey...so glad you checked out my other blog. Thank you, bud!
Listen, it's funny, because when I wrote that post, I thought of YOU because on Foot Notes, you had left me a comment a looooong time ago, that you LOVED Liquid Mind too! Isn't it the BEST? I've tried various artists, but I still go back to using Liquid Mind for my sessions.
See!!! We truly are Libra's!
Thanks for stopping by, Dave!
And I feel so much better today, thank god!
Enjoy your evening!

OH...Miss Jones...you had in stitches!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was HYSTERICAL!!!!!!
There's something so wonderful about giving and getting a nice slap on the behind, isn't there?
*It's so much better than just a boring hand-shake!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
And OMG...I KNEW, KNEW, KNEW you would "get" the herpes kiss thingy! Last night, when I was writing this post, I couldn't figure out HOW to describe how the customers were reacting to me all day. I mean, they were looking at me like they were scared to death or something...and then RUNNING away!
So I thought, "Ok...HERPES!"
HAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA!
Aren't we a sick bunch of crackers, Miss Jones?
YES!...and I love it!
Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in my madness today!
I feel much better today, but I still feel like it should be 8PM rather than 9PM!?!?
Ciao bella

"I have herpes, can I assist you?" OMG, I'm crying. That's so funny! Now I'm going to think of that every time someone asks me that question.
ReplyDeleteEvenin' Chrissy!
ReplyDeleteOMG...I felt like I was a leper or something!?!?!?
I mean, I know I was a little cranky, but at least I smiled when I screamed...
...NO WIRE HANGERS...EVER!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Always VUNDERBAR seeing ya, dear lady!
Hope your weekend was much than mine!!
Have a great night!

Hi Ron!!
ReplyDeleteAs I read the first few lines, I said to myself-- OH, That's TOTALLY me on PMS!! I am THE WORLD'S MOST CLUMSIEST PERSON on PMS. I should just as well stay in bed that week... Well, at least you survived it! It's really amazing when the whole weekend turns out that way, but I can surely relate!!!
I hope we change the clocks soon.... I can't wait... Maybe you should come here to catch up with the 6 hour "jet lag" you feel.. hehehehe!!!! You can come in May/June! We'll be here waiting for ya!! hehehe!!!
Bonjour Leesa!
ReplyDeleteOMG, let me tell ya...I felt like I should have been wearing rubber gloves!!!!
Everything I touched just fell right out of hands!!!
CRASH!?@?#*
So it must be the same for IMS as it is for PMS...the droppies!
Well...I'm certainly glad THAT weekend is over!
Hey...do you guys change the time too? I had no idea, I thought it was just a US thing!?
Personally, I think we should just stick to one time and leave it at that.
Yes my friend, I'm still thinking about visiting you and Barb, but if I do, it will have to be in July, since that's my free month off work. If that doesn't work out for you guys, no worries, we can plan something in January.
Thanks for dropping by Leesa!
Hope you have a great Tuesday!
X to you!
Excellent! It does happen to me as well, sometimes... I think everybody experience it once or twice (a year maybe)!
ReplyDeleteI really like your style.
Nice job ;-)
Greetings 9volter~
ReplyDeleteWelcome! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to share a comment. Nice meeting you!
Yea, I think your right...this sort of "off day" seems to happen to most folks, now and then.
Something was definately in the air this weekend. So glad it's over!
Please stop by anytime. You're always welcome!
Enjoy your evening!
Ciao
I would bet you are a big coffee drinker?? and everyone else is too so that could explain it or it's going to storm or it's going to clear up or it's a full moon or a new moon or sun spots or sun flares, high tide, low tide, dogs have pooped in everyone's bedroom and they stepped in it except that doesn't explain you, darling, hmmmm...what else can we think of....
ReplyDeletemaybe it's in the water...or the milk or the COFFEE! the air or the air pressure? maybe it's the news! that's it, everyone needs to just stop listening to the crap on the news and then won't be so distracted and will stop breaking things. how about the stupid time change...it makes me and everyone I know nuts....
oh I don't know....but I love you anyway, even if you are a klutz! :)
xoxox
Hi Linda!
ReplyDeleteOh...you're so sweet, thank you!
I'll tell ya though...I think us men have "our time of the month" too! When things seem "off" and the nerves are frazzled.
And thank you for mentioning about NOT watching the news, because I feel the same way. In fact, I NEVER watch the news and it drives my mother insane. She thinks I'm nuts not to be interested in worldly events - but my feelings are like you - it's all CRAP and FEAR inducing.
Ok, I'm gonna go now and have another cup of COFFEE!!!
HAHHAAHAHAHA!
God love ya, woman!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a FABU day!

Hi Ron!
ReplyDeleteWe DOOOO have DST here in Europe... It was invented - thought up - by a Brit!!! It started in Europe before the U.S. I read about it today on Wikipedia because I wanted to do it for a lesson plan... It's nice that we have longer days.. The sun sets close to 10 pm here in France in the summer and I just LOVEEEEE that!!! That's one of my favourite things about living here!!!
I am going on vacation on July 1 - 14 Aug. I'm going to California!!!! I'll be there for most of the summer...
Jan will be okay, but it's COLD.. oh no matter... Alex and I are planning a trip to Costa Rica in Dec (around Chirstmas time- mid Jan.) My parents are moving there and we have to seek the sun while it's winter here in France..... We'll talk about it more...
Take good care!! Leese
Bonjour Leesa!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful bit of knowledge!
I had no idea about that!
Here during the summer, I think the longest day we get is in August, and it's around 9:30PM.
WOW...you're going to California for most of the summer??? HOW COOL!
Listen, I don't mind COLD at all, so if January works out, that's fine with me. I bet France looks GORGEOUS in the winter!!
Have a wonderful evening, Leesa!
Thanks for stopping by!
