Even though I'm not a participant in all the social activities that Facebook offers, it's been a wonderful way to reconnect with so many friends who I've lost contact with throughout the years.

And one of those friends...is Joanna.

(she's the beautiful blond in the photo above, bottom row, right)

Joanna and I worked together for Chanel's cosmetic division while living in Florida, eight years ago. And even though she now resides in the UK (where she was born), her job as a flight attendant takes her all over the world.

Let me just intervene here, by mentioning that Joanna and I share an erotic love for anything CHANEL. Even just seeing the little white CC logo on a face powder compact or purse, will cause the two of us to suddenly go glassy-eyed and hump a chair leg.

(right, Joanna?)

Now mind you, I own NOTHING from Chanel, but that still doesn't stop me from mentally masturbating about it, while watching other people enjoy it.

Anyway...

Last week, Joanna emailed me several photos that she's taken during her layovers in a city that she and I love more than our own lives....New York!

Today I would like to share some of the awesome images that this talented Piscean lady has captured.

So without further ado, here's where my heart lies......

A view of Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge

The electrifying Times Square

A subtle splash of color

The Mayor of New York

Lady Liberte'

A beautiful view through Central Park

Wintertime in Central Park

NYC skyline at night....aaaaah!

Thank you Joanna!

  3. Hi Joanna! Ron has the most wonderful friends so it's nice to be introduced via his awesome blog.

Your photos are terrific. Gives New York City a whole different feel. I've only been a few times and it was a little stressful. Guess I wasn't looking at it quite the right way.

I don't own anything Chanel. But a little while ago, I found a quote in something I was reading at Barnes and I wrote it down on a napkin. That napkin has been sitting on my kitchen counter ever since. It's wrinkled and has a stain on it... eventually I'll copy it on better paper and tuck it away somewhere. But I just knew I needed that reminder DAILY!

Women should be two things ~
    classy and fabulous!
    - Coco Chanel

I'm not even close to classy... well, maybe a couple of my jewelry pieces MIGHT make the stretch?? LOL But FABULOUS.... OH Ron, even when I'm not feeling it, I'm thinking it!!!

Have a great day. Thanks for sharing a little about your friend and her photos.

  4. The mayor is lookin' good! LOL What amazingly wonderful pictures!

How great is it that you reconnected with your friend like that? She is beautiful.

I share the same type of lust for Jimmy Choo's. I actually went so far as to try a pair on once. It was an orgasmic experience.

  5. Hi ya, Ron!

I personally love London more than my own life, but ah... New York. I love that wonderful city. Great photos!

  6. Beauatiful pics, Joanna and Ron!

Ron, I have to say, after my little trip to Nordstroms, I'm feeling the strong desire to hump chair legs too! They let me sample the foundation, and I am completely loving it. Planning on going back this weekend and get a bottle. Thank you sooooo much for letting me know about it.

I hope your day is filled with love and laughter.

  7. Aloha Debi!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

OMG...I don't know what possessed me to caption that photo with "The Mayor of New York", but suddenly last night, my fingers tapped it out on the my keyboard!

But it truly DOES capture the "fun energy" of that wonderful city!

    Thanks for dropping by Deb!

    Have a great Wednesday!

Thank you for stopping by and sharing a comment.

    Nice meeting you.

I quickly clicked over to your blog and took a peek - looks wonderful! I'll be sure to stop by within the next few days to dig deeper.

So glad you enjoyed the photos!

Stop by anytime. You're always welcomed here.

  11. Helloooo Crystal Chick!

Hey...thanks for sharing that Coco Chanel quote!

I've read several books on her and have never read that particular quote, so that was so cool!

Oh...and yes you are BOTH classy and faaaaaabulous, M! Classy in my opinion means "your own sense of style" and you my friend, have that. And without a doubt...so does your jewelry!

As you know, I don't really use Facebook to the extent that most people do - I just don't have the time - but it's been amazing in meeting old friends!

So glad you enjoyed the photos. Joanna has always had a special gift (eye) for photography. Even back before digital, she was always sharing her photos at work.

    ALWAYS great seeing ya, neighbor!

    Thanks for stopping by today.

    Hope your neck/shoulders feel better!

    Have a great day!

  12. I am glad YOU had the courage to write about Chanel! I have a different memory: my wife's Dallas-ite grandmother (I think she actually shot JR) loved the stuff. I can still smell it!
But I do love NY! Thanks to Joanna and to you for bringing us a little of The City today. You are terrific.

  13. Howdy Nitebyrd!

    OMG...doesn't the MAYOR look AMAZING???

(I think it's the blue boa)

    bwhahahaha!

Yes, Joanna is such a beauty - both inside and out.

We only just reconnected about a month ago and it's been so wonderful catching up with her. Hopefully this month she and I will be meeting in NYC for the day. And CHANEL will be visited!

One day when you and I meet, lets go shopping for Jimmy Coo and Chanel and have a mind-blowing ORGASM, ok?

    tee, hee!

    Thanks for stopping by, Sis!

    Love ya!

  14. Good Morning Vixen Kitten!

    SEE....what did I tell ya???

    Isn't Chanel the BOMB??

I'm warning you...you'll end up getting addicted.

(but what's the harm in a little chair leg humping, ya know?)

    tee, hee!

I'm so glad you stopped by the Chanel counter and tried it out. They give great samples, so you can use it before purchasing, which is such a great way to experience the product first!

So glad you enjoyed the foundation!

Thanks for stopping by, dear one.

    Always a delight!

    Happy Wednesday!

    XOXO

  15. Hi ya, Roberto!

Listen...I hear London is beyond FAAABULOUS!!

I've only visited Europe once (Amsterdamn) and never had the time to visit the UK. One day I will!

    Don't you love NYC?

And I know you, being such a lover of musicals (as myself), probably get such a RUSH walking the theater district!

    AMAZING energy!

    Thanks for dropping by buddy!

    Always great sharing with ya!

    Enjoy your day!

  16. Great photos. And I walk these streets almost daily, yet it's amazing what the eye filters out en route to a desk job. I try to remind myself of this each time I race through Grand Central Station. During those moments, I gaze upward and appreciate the building's majesty before quickly reverting my gaze shoe-ward, fearing I might be pegged as a tourist.

Likewise, I worked in the center of Times Square for 1.5 years. Truly dazzling at night. But lunchtime is a nightmare, especially before the Wednesday theater matinees.

  17. Hi Akelamalu!

So glad you enjoyed the photos, m'dear!

And if you ever visit NYC, let me know, because it's VERY close to Philly and we can meet up there. I have a feeling you will LOVE the city!

Chanel #5...the first of her creations!

Thanks for dropping by, dear lady!

Hope everything worked out with posting your photos.

    Enjoy your day!

  19. Helloooooo Expat!

HOLY SHIT...now I finally know WHO SHOT J.R.!!!!

    hahahhahahahaha!

I think you may be talking about the perfume Chanel #5. It's one of those scents that people either love or not. A little goes a long way.

    This is interesting...

...Coco Chanel gave that perfume it's name because it was the number (5) on a horse, which she had betted on at the race track...and WON!!

    Viola...Chanel #5!

Didn't Joanna do such a great job on these photos? I'm so proud to show them to everyone.

    ALWAYS great seeing ya, pal!

Much thanks for dropping by for a little taste of the Big Apple!

    Enjoy your day!

  20. Hey MVD~

First of all...love your new avatar photo!

I swear to god, I've been George Jetson for the past two years! I finally started telling people that I AM him!

    Anyway...

...I was thinking of you while I was posting these photos and trying to figure out which ones to use, because they were all so friggin' good. I still have half a dozen more. And its funny you mentioned Grand Central, because I have beautiful interior shot that she took.

    So true what you shared...

...when I lived in NYC, I too filtered out much of majesty that surrounded me. I do the same thing here in Philly.

    OMG...Times Square at lunchtime!??!

    Total madness.

I use to work at a Steak and Brew right on Broadway, so I know what you mean!!!

    OY!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in a celebration of your home!

    It's the greatest!

    Enjoy your day!

  23. Beautiful pics! And what a pretty girl she is. I've never been to NYC but I've ALWAYS wanted to go.

My dream is to attend the Macy's parade and pee in my diaper before Santa crosses the finish line. That would be bliss!

  24. Hi Chrissy!

    Bwhahahahahahahahah!

    OMG...you're a PISSER!

I laughed my ASS off at your diaper remark!

    That was brilliant!

Hey, listen...one of these days if you and I should ever meet, I think it would be fun to get together in NYC. And knowing YOU, I think you would love it!

Thanks for stopping by, you WILD woman.

    Glad you enjoyed Joanna's photos.

    Yes..isn't she a pretty lady?

  26. omg, i forgot all about the chanel, ahem, love...i also adore chanel and if i had more money, that's where it would go....clothes, handbags, sunglasses, cosmetics, perfume, i don't even know if they make shoes, they are far beyond my budget!...and the list goes on...i adore this label and wish it wasn't quite so expensive but alas it is for a reason!

    kisses

  27. Helloooo Linda!

Yes!!!...if you ever make it to the northeast, I'd be more than happy to meet you in NYC!!!

I have feeling you would adore it!

    Very creative energy.

And yes...Chanel does make shoes and they're beautiful.

Unfortunately, Chanel makes nothing for men (outside of fragrances), therefore, I can't even be tempted to buy anything. Not that I could ever afford it.

There's something in the whole design of Chanel, that I love. Coco Chanel was way before her time, and was the first designer to create fashion that was comfortable to wear for women.

Thanks for stopping by, dear lady!

    Hope you had wonderful day!

    XO
