A few nights ago I was sitting at this computer and thinking about the awesome people who stop by here and how much I enjoy communicating with all of you.

I feel so freakin’ blessed sharing with the BEST of the BEST people.

And the thing I enjoy most of all, is that everyone who comes here is uniquely different.

I’ve never been someone who only enjoys surrounding myself with people who have the same interests. I would much rather be surrounded with a potpourri of people from all walks of life, occupations, talents, interests and beliefs, because it takes me outside of myself; viewing the world through someone else’s experiences.

Sure, it’s fun to be with like-minded people sometimes, but I find it much more interesting to be with unlike-minded people.

We as bloggers spend a great deal of time getting to know one another by sharing our lives through words and images on posts, and then responding to them through something called comments.

I’ve realized over these past four years, it’s not how many comments I receive on a post, but rather the quality of communication within the comment because this is where our relationships are formed.

And for this I want to thank you, because you all give of yourselves with a tremendous amount of quality when commenting.

And I’m not talking about the amount of words you use, but rather the amount of energy you place behind the words.

Because I can feel it.

And it feels great.

So, thank you everyone.

For being the coolest, nicest, open, sharing, and unique bunch of people in blogland.

You make my blogging experience….the BEST!

  1. Aw Ron! You're making me smile...not an easy thing to do before 7am, with the wind howling outside my window, the rain pelting down...and absolutely no sign of the sun. It IS morning, right??
I haven't known you nearly as long as many...but I feel like I've known you forever. You & I see the world the same way...have the same values....even seem to have the same manners. It has been an honor and a privilege to call you "friend". I hope our cyber-friendship continues for many happy years to come. You're one of those people who will have my ear and a willing smile anytime! Thank you, Ron...you're the cat's meow! xoxo

  2. And thanks to you too Ron, for always being one to comment on my sporadic/weird/meaningless posts! Enjoy your day. Is it rainy and dark and gloomy in Philly like it is here in Gotham city oops I mean pittsburgh?

  3. Hi Ron,

I will add that you are the best. Thank you for being here and for sharing.

  4. You're most welcome and THANK YOU!

I agree with what you've said, completely. I also find it so interesting that even though the people I've met through blogging are so varied in lifestyle, thoughts, careers, etc. we still can connect on so many levels.

  5. Uh huh.

You're just sayin' that cuz you tortured us with that Hello Kitty jazz and you're trying to get back into our good graces....

    Okay, okay....forgiven!
But seriously, sir--don't do that again!

    Sheeeeeeeshhhh.

    ((((((((((((( You ))))))))))))
It wouldn't be near as fun if you weren't here--you do know that, right?

With the new wave of 'twitter' and 'facebook' weblogs seem to have lost some of their momentum--not true here.
    And for that, I'm grateful.
....'Cept for that one Hello Kitty post.......

    JUST sayin'! LOL

  7. What a wonderful post you have today. We say Thank You right back!!

It is fun to be with many different people on this thing we call the blog.

Now that I have said that I would like to take time ask; what the hell is "Freakin Blessed?" Is this something Father Murphy did with Mrs Cavanaugh after the Parish Council Meeting?
Or perhaps it means that Sister Monica was a part time pole dancer to help defray the soaring costs of the arch dioceases.

You said you never really enjoy being with people with like minds, That is why you and I get along so well I have absolutely NO mind. I lost it in Wal-Mart a few years ago shopping for Maple Syrup.

Hey, Ron Thanks for the Freakin comments. Now Fuddgetta about it.

    With much admiration and respect.
    Just Dave

  8. And thank YOU for setting up your blog in such a way that invites readers to comment like we do, knowing you'll be responding to each one.
Even though I'm not blogging as much as I would like to, I still love stopping by where and when I can to say hello.
I wandered over to Facebook a good while ago and started having some fun there, posting pictures, looking at old friends pages. But quite frankly, that's even becoming pretty boring because there is very little dialogue.
I have tried to get some converstations going there, but one of my friends lately called me an 'Interrogator' and said I was 'relentless' and I felt hurt by that because how else can we get to know each other unless we TALK. Sending someone a hug there is fun and all, but really, it's getting to know people, all different types of people, and being engaged in some conversation is what I love.
So thanks for having that here. A place where everyone feels at home and very welcome!

Your last couple of posts were fab, as always. Penny's photography is awesome. I did enjoy looking at the pictures and reading the post. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to comment on things lately. Your interviews are always terrific.

    Happy day!

  10. Good morning Ron,

This is very sweet, and of course you are most welcome, love!

I have to mention that you reap what you sow... and your comments are among the best in blogland. I read someone (please forgive me, I can't remember who it was) who said "when Ron comments on your blog, you KNOW you've been commented on!" This is so true my friend and in a really great way!

So... thank you BACK! I always look forward to hearing from you!

    Have a fantastic day!

  11. Hi Kathryn!

    OMG...before 7am???

I was still la la land at that time. Of course, I went to bed last night at 2am! I can't help it, I'm such a night owl.

Hey...it's raining and windy here in Philly too - and my umbrella just broke the other day!!!

    OY!

Thank you so much for your sweet words, my friend.

And may I say DITTO back to YOU!

    You're the cat's meow!

    HA!

Thank you for sharing that because I feel the same way!

Blogging seems to bring people together who may not have a chance to meet otherwise. It just goes to show that even though we may have different interests, we are all basically the same.

Blogging has also allowed me to be more open in my life in general.

Thanks for stopping by today, Sis!

    So glad we met!

I think that post will go down as one of my most EVIL!

    tee, hee, hee!

I've tried doing twitter and facebook, but find blogging more in depth. Blogging feels more like a "connection" to me. But to each his own, because there are alot of people who really enjoy those mediums.

Thanks for stopping by, dear Mel!

And need I say what an absolute joy it's been getting to know you!

    Freakin' blessed...

Or perhaps it means that Sister Monica was a part time pole dancer to help defray the soaring costs of the arch dioceases.

    Bwhahahahahahahahaha!

    OMG...that made me HOWL!

I think "freakin' blessed" came from my time spent living in NYC. "Freakin" is a term ALL New Yorkers use - and also "friggin'."

It's so much more polite than saying FUCK.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That is why you and I get along so well I have absolutely NO mind.

    You said it, buddy!

Thanks for being one of my longest blogging pals. It's been such a "freakin' blessing" getting to know you!

Thank you for your words, my friend!

And I enjoy "whenever" you stop by, so please know that. I've never been one to "expect." I just want people to come and go as they wish; feeling relaxed.

You shared something that I have to agree with when it comes to Facebook....

But quite frankly, that's even becoming pretty boring because there is very little dialogue.

That's the thing I LOVE about blogging more so than FB.

    Dialogue.

how else can we get to know each other unless we TALK.

    My sentiments exactly!

And this is why I prefer blogs. They're more indepth and more communicative.

  21. Hola Penny!

Responding to other bloggers posts and comments for me, is one the biggest joys I get from blogging.

We each offer ourselves to one another, so for me it's important to let people know I care about what they share on their blogs.

    It's total enjoyment for me.

Thank you for stopping by here and introducing yourself to me because you have no idea how much I enjoy your company.

  22. Thank you Ron! You are truly the greatest at supporting my blog and I am always extremely grateful. I enjoy stopping by your site to see what's going on in your head at the moment. Sometimes a laugh sometimes a bit more thoughtful but always entertaining. I've been trying to pattern myself a little after you with regards to how kind and inviting your comment responses on your own site are. To be honest I sometimes fall behind and don't reply to the comments on my site. You are my role model in this and I definitely need to work on it.
So much fun to have become one of your bloggy friends!

  23. Hi Ron!

I have to agree - the comments are 'where it's at' as far as the best part of blogging. I love seeing new comments on my posts and I enjoy responding to them as well.

This beautiful place where I live is all covered in SNOW today! The one day this week I think I might have a chance to get some photos between work shifts; and I have to spend the time trying to fix my car. Blech!

Oh well... it could be worse for sure!

Hope you're having a happy hump day!

  24. Ron, I was just telling a friend how much I love your blog and that part of it is because you are so genuinely happy that people hang out here. It shows and that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. (Or maybe in my case, I'm warm and fuzzy because I only now showered for the first time in four days, but that's another story).

Anyway, we love you! And you're so nice to write this post. This is why you have so many adoring fans.

    Best,
    Kathy

  26. Hiya Jen!

I absolutely LOVE your blog so it's my pleasure to read your posts! I learn so much from you.

I think everyone attends to their comments in a different way and I honestly don't think there is any "one right way" to do it because we all have different schedules and things going on in our lives, so we attend to them accordingly. Thankfully with my job, I have chunks of free time throughout my day, so I'm able to respond and visit blogs during those times.

I enjoy writing my posts, but more so I love interacting in comments, so it's something I look forward to - it's easy for me.

Anyway, my friend...thank you so much for being such a wonderful blogging buddy. I look forward to many more great times!

And one day, I know we'll meet!

  27. Hello again, Penny!

Isn't interacting through comments a BLAST?

And you're not going to believe this, but when I first started this blog, I had planned on having my comments DISABLED. I just wanted to write and really didn't want to concern myself with responding to comments.

    DUH.....

    What was I thinking???

And comments have turned out to be my favorite thing about blogging!

OMG...it's snowing there?? I am SO jealous! I wish it would snow in Philly. All we've been getting is rain and humidity. I can't wait to see all your snow photos!

Hope you had a great day and got your car fixed.

  28. Hiya Kathy!

Or maybe in my case, I'm warm and fuzzy because I only now showered for the first time in four days, but that's another story.

    Bwhahahahahahhahaaha!

    OMG, Kathy....that made me HOWL!!

But it's funny you mentioned that because my shower drain was clogged yesterday and I had to wait until today, when maintenance came by to fix to take a shower! OMG...I hated not being able to take a shower last night before bed! I'm OCD about taking two showers a day!

    OY VEY!

You're so sweet, my friend...thank you for your kind words. It really does make me happy that people can stop by here and hang out. I want this blog to always be a place that allows others to feel relaxed and comfortable about when then stop by and always feel welcomed.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful wit and great energy, Kathy!

    It's so enjoyed!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    OMG...that's so funny!

And yes...you CAN disable comments on a blog. On both of my other blogs (I have another one here at Blogger and another one at Wordpress) I have both of those comments disabled.

Those blogs are more informative and reference oriented, so I only write for them. If readers want to contact me, they can use my email address. Plus, I simply don't have the time to respond to comments on all three blogs.

This blog is more personal and social, so I decided to leave comments open. This is the blog I enjoy the most.

  40. Beautiful post, Ron! My sentiments exactly. Even though we are all so different, we all share a common interest: blogging or writing. This is something that really brings us together because we are using our communication skills all the time. And communication is something that is lost most of the time in relationships. I am proud to have you as a friend, my dear sir! (((HUGS)))

  41. Hello Colette!

This is something that really brings us together because we are using our communication skills all the time. And communication is something that is lost most of the time in relationships...

    You said it perfectly!

I was mentioning this on another one of my friends blogs a few weeks ago, that blogging has actually allowed me to become a better communicator in general. Quite often I'm prone to simply blurt out the first thing that comes into my brain without thinking what my words may do someone's feelings - and blogging, has taught me to pause before speaking, so that I communicate what I wish to say in a more constructive and clearer way.

    Me too, dear lady....

...I'm proud to have you as a friend!

    So glad we've met!

    Have a wonderful day, Colette.
