For those who don’t have much interest in beauty products, you may find this post kind of boring. But then again, maybe not. Because its always amusing to read how some people will believe anything you tell them; even if what you tell them sounds so far-fetched and totally unbelievable.

(I take after my father in that he use to LOVE to pull people's legs)

First, I’ve got to say that the beauty item I’m about to share with you is in fact an outstanding product because it truly does what it claims.

It REALLY works.

(and it should for $115.00)

When I first moved back to Philly, I had the opportunity to be a representative for Guerlain, which is a cosmetic, skincare, and fragrance company from France.

I think out of all the various divisions within Guerlain, skincare is their strongest division. They offer some of the most effective skin treatments on the market.

Take for instance, Midnight Secret, which is a late night recovery treatment that works while you sleep. It detoxifies, replenishes and oxygenates your skin, repairing and counteracting signs of fatigue. You'll wake to a radiant and refreshed complexion.

Similar to that radiant and refreshed complexion you receive after having a 4-hour marathon of wild, multi-climactic sex with the man or woman you love.

So, on second thought, you can save yourself $115.00 by just doing BOOM-BOOM at midnight.

Honesty though, the first time I tried Midnight Secret and then glanced at myself in the mirror the following morning, my skin had a youthful glowing appearance, similar to Brad Pitt in the movie “Thelma and Louise.”

(Okay…perhaps that’s a slight exaggeration)

However, I did see a difference in my skin. It appeared refreshed, more even, and brighter. My under eye dark circles also seemed less noticeable.

One of things I never really understood about his product was WHY they chose to call it Midnight Secret. The operative word being Midnight.

So, I decided to make up my own reason, by telling customers who were thinking about purchasing it, that the only way this product would work was if they applied it at the stroke of midnight.

I remember sharing this with a customer one afternoon….

I said, “Now listen, I cannot stress this enough. You must, and mean MUST apply this product at midnight SHARP, or it won’t work.”

She said, “What do you mean it won’t work?”

“Well, if you apply it before midnight it will be too early, making your skin look worse. And if you apply after midnight it won’t do a damn thing, because it’s too late.

She looked at me in total confusion and said, “But, I normally go to bed around 10:30, so what am I going to do?”

I said, “You’re going to have to change your bedtime, or can forget about purchasing this product.”

Then I paused slightly, smiled, and busted out into laughter saying, “HA!…GOTCHA!”

(laughing) She said, “Oh my god, I thought you were telling me the truth!”

She ended up buying Midnight Secret, yet I couldn’t help but imagine if what I had told her was partially true.

I mean what if she applied Midnight Secret at 10:30 instead of midnight….

Ooops!

Wishing you a gorgeous weekend everyone!

  2. Hi Everyone!

I'll be going into work extra early today, therefore I will be responding to comments and visiting your blogs later in the evening.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

    Have a great Friday!

  3. Oh Ron being a beauty product lover (okay a slave to beauty products...particularly makeup) I must try your secret serum. Not to be vain or anything, but one area I did receive good genes was the skin department (as you know the insides of my body follow genes that are not so good.) As of now I like the Khiels line of creams but now I am going to look at your suggestion.

    Please have a great weekend!!!

  4. Midnight Secret? Are you telling the truth or porkies... grins. Knowing Guerlain as I do I kinda think there's something resembling the truth in it... it all depends on the skin on which it's applied. I SWEAR by Vol de Nuit perfume though, have used it for more years than I care to remember... my only regret is that I have to go easy on it because now I can only buy it at Christmas. Daft or what? Oh by the way, Ron, who gave you permission to post an image of my face?
Thanks for your LOVELY comments on my blog. I feel so bigheaded now as I strut conceitedly around the house Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  5. Well, you're right that I have no interest in beauty products. But writing like this: "you can save yourself $115.00 by just doing BOOM-BOOM at midnight" is why I'll read every post :-)

  6. You are hilarious...can you imagine if people really took the names of products seriously and did stuff like that, reaarangeing their lifestyles to adjust to their skincare regime?! I am one of those gullible people who would believe you unless you started laughing or told me otherwise!

    that's wonderful - and a little sad

I think I'll try the product
one question - midnight in what time zone?

    YOU are so bad.
But I love ya' because of it.

"Oh Ron being a beauty product lover (okay a slave to beauty products...particularly makeup)"

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY another beauty product lover!! Honestly, Midnight Secret is the BOMB! It's something you can use once or twice a week to detox your skin. Being in this industry and having tried a TON of stuff, I will only recommend products that I really think work. And this one does.

"one area I did receive good genes was the skin department."

How wonderful! And yet, I'm sure you use great products to help keep it that way.

"As of now I like the Khiels line of creams."

Yes, I too use a few items from Khiels. LOVE their lip balm during the winter months when my lips get very chapped. I also love their shampoos and body washes. Khiels is an outstanding line. It's simple, basic, and effective.

I have a feeling that if you and I ever went shopping together, we would have a BLAST!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend!

    Have a beautiful weekend!

You're absolutely right. It all depends on the persons skin.

"I SWEAR by Vol de Nuit perfume..."

Yes, that's one of my favorites by Guerlian! They have some of the best and classic perfumes on the market. I love Samsara too! Spicy and sexy!

You are so welcome, dear lady. I loved your last post (as I do all your posts). Talented writer you are!

Thanks so much for stopping by. You're a GEM!

  22. Ronnie.....!!

That picture gives me the willies! I'm horrified of clowns.

My Dad loved to pull people's legs like that, too! He would be completely serious and he would sort of lean in...."no, really. I'm telling you the truth." Then he would wait for that wide-eyed stare before he would say, "no. I'm just pulling your leg."

I've never tried Midnight Rendezvous or whatever they call it but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Olay Regenerist. I started developing these dry patches on my cheeks and I swear, now my cheeks feel like a babies' bottom! And for $24, it's a steal.

AND I don't have to wait until midnight to apply it. ;-)

Ooooo....oooo.... and speaking of Olay Regenerist, I've got to tell you...there are several products from Oil of Olay that I use and LOVE (especially their gentle foaming cleanser). but I've always wanted to try the Regenerist line. Thank you for your recommendation because now I'll definiately try it. And for $24, you're right...it's a STEAL!

I am one of those people who would follow your directions like an obedient child, waiting until precisely midnight to apply the magic potion.

When will I ever learn? I didn't get the genetics that permits me to detect when a practical jokester, such as yourself, is just making up a goofy story.

Does sex really make your skin look better? What if it's only 2 hours?

You are quite the little character now aren't you.
You have to be careful these days coz people believe anything you tell them...

Come to think of it people- I have 20 million dollars that my Arabian 2nd cousin just realized belonged to you and all I need is your bank acct #...

Sounds like a fabulous product- but for us struggling bloggers...we use good old fashioned olive oil. Yup, applied straight to the face each night (and backs of hands too) and you will see marvelous results (all for $3.99 bottle-big lots price).

    Now you BEHAVE my friend!

OMG...plain and simple olive oil is the BEST! Not only to eat, but also for your skin. Sophia Loren swears by it...and look at her great skin!
