Post updates by email:

Today I would like to talk about being corrected.

And the reason I’m sharing this is because a few months ago I read a blog post, in which the author expressed his feelings about how one of his readers caught a spelling mistake on one of his posts and then emailed him to make him aware of it. Well, he was quite upset about this and said that if his readers were only focusing on spelling errors, then they shouldn’t be reading his blog.

It was obvious the author was sensitive that someone caught his mistake and was having a hard time dealing with it. Since I don’t know HOW the email was worded, I can’t be sure as to why he reacted the way he did, but regardless, I don’t think writing a whole post about the correction was the smartest thing to do because it only seemed to MAGNIFY the mistake.

Let's face it, as bloggers, there will inevitably be times when we make errors on our posts, whether they are spelling, punctuation, word usage, or facts.

I myself have had it happen MANY times. I don’t care how much I proofread a post, an error will still slip past my eyes. Sometimes I will catch a mistake and correct it myself after I publish a post, or sometimes a reader will catch the error and either email me or share it in their comment.

And do you know what?

I’m glad they corrected me because it means they were looking out for my best interest.

When I first started blogging and would find a mistake, it used to make me feel so embarrassed and red in the face. Like, “OH MY GOD…..I MADE A BLOOPER AND THE ENTIRE INTERNET SAW IT!!!” However, over the past five years I’ve learned to accept it.

I once had a reader who left a comment on one of my posts that dated back two years ago, in which I improperly used the word, it’s. The comment they left was extremely well-expressed without any ridicule. They took the time to explain to me in detail the difference between using it’s versus its. And I was so grateful because up until that point I had been using them wrong. I sincerely thanked them for bringing it to my attention because they taught me something.

To be honest, anytime anyone has ever pointed out a mistake to me, they’ve never done it in a way that was condescending or nasty. They did it out of genuine care.

Besides reading personal blogs, I also read many professional blogs and will occasionally catch spelling errors; therefore I see that it can happen to anyone.

One of the most valuable things I’ve learned through blogging is how to be a better writer. I love to write and have a passion for words, but was never very good at English/Grammar in school. So through trial and error, blogging has been my teacher.

I will always do my best to publish mistake-free posts, but hey, I’m also realistic enough to know that sometimes it’s going to happen. And if a reader catches an oversight, and they wish to tell me in a caring manner, then I don’t have a problem with that.

I would rather someone tell me, than let it go uncorrected.

In fact, I say….

Wishing you a SUPA' weekend everyone!
X

*So tell me, has anyone ever corrected you on one of your posts. And how did you feel about it?

  2. I've never had anyone correct me, Ron, although I make plenty of mistakes. My English grammar used to be impeccable but I've slipped backwards lately. I correct before and after posting on the blog. It used to worry me in case people saw that I'd done something wrong but I don't care so much now. I did once have someone (a blogger) suggest that she helped me improve one of my stories and that did hurt. I'm afraid my response was slightly out of character. Actually when I see how the kids are taught spelling at school I don't think I do too badly. It's an interesting subject and I'm glad you raised it. Wishing you a Happy Friday.

  3. A few years ago, I published a post and received many comments about it and we all had a conversation and had a nice time talking about it.

Until a day later I noticed that the first few words of that post absolutely made no sense ! It was gibberish ! What state was I in when I hit publish - I shall never figure out.

And none of the commentators ever pointed that out and instead we had a great time talking about what I wanted to talk about.

    :-)

  4. Terrific post, Ron! You spelled things out perfectly. I am forever leaving out words in my posts. My mind inserts the words that should be there. Reading the post out loud seems to be the best solution for me.

And you're right about that blogger who devoted an entire post to being corrected--that just makes magnifies the problem.

As my mom used to say, "face it, erase it, and move on."

I think blogging has made you an excellent writer and this post is one of many, many examples of that.

    Hav a grate weakand, buhhdy!

  5. When I'm in a hurry and don't proof read I tend to make mistakes and hate it when I find out later. Fortunately a few times I've had someone slip me an email or write it in the comments...I am so thankful when they do.
Great post. By the way, had I not glanced at the screen this would have been unreadable due to typos...hand my fingers one key off, lol!

  6. I always proof read my posts before posting but inevitably some mistakes do get through. If I spot them after posting I will correct them but I've never had anyone point out mistakes in my posts and I wouldn't point out the mistakes in any one else's posts either as I'm not their teacher. As long as what is written is clear a few typos or misuse of grammar is neither here not there really I think. :)

  7. I've noticed quite a few things in my own posts that were wrong. Sometimes I correct after publishing, other times I don't. I know I'm not a great writer so I try to not stress about it.
I don't think anyone has ever corrected something on my blog to me personally. In their mind, OH yes, I'm sure of it! LOL I don't think I'd like to get correction emails or comments though. So what if I spelled a word wrong or forgot an apostrophe, etc. If ever need to write a thesis on molecular biology, I'll ask for criticism then. For now, at my place, you get what you get.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Ron, I completely agree with you. I would much rather have someone correct a spelling or grammar error then let it sit out there for the world to see. Actually, a friend of mine has done that for me several times. I will re-read a post three or four times and still make mistakes. Please do the same for me, but be gentle... :)

  9. Well, Ron, since I don't have a blog I've never had that happen. But I have had it happen in things like emails that I've written at work. I'll push SEND, and then reread it and either catch a spelling mistake or complete words I've left out...oops! But I've also had business emails sent to me and the same thing happened. I think with emails though, people are so quick to write them without first proofreading them.

    Have a wonderful weekend, Ron.

It's so great to receive your comment, dear friend, because I've been thinking about you this past week and wondering how you were.

I hope all is well with your health and that your MIA is only due to technical difficulties.

You take care, okay? Sending ya a big energy hug....

  11. I totally agree with you Ron. My sister often read my blog and would email me if I had a spelling mistake or typo. Unfortunately, she doesn't read it any more, so I don't have a regular checker ;)

I find it difficult to correct most bloggers, because I'm not sure if Americans use words differently. Either that or more bloggers use bad grammar than you would think ;) Many bloggers use the word 'of' instead of 'have' like, "I would of loved to see....", when it should be "I would have loved to see.....". I notice that a lot of people say 'of' instead of 'have', which is possibly why they write it incorrectly. I do see a lot of grammatical errors, but don't have the courage to tell a person, for fear they think I'm being superior.

I don't have a problem with being corrected, myself. There's nothing worse than a wrongly spelled word in a post :)

  12. Good morning Valerie~

"I correct before and after posting on the blog."

Yes, as you read, I do the same thing. I will often catch a mistake TWO days after I publish a post - HA!

" I did once have someone (a blogger) suggest that she helped me improve one of my stories and that did hurt. I'm afraid my response was slightly out of character."

Well, in that case I think it's more about a reader/blogger giving their opinion without being asked. Every author has their own unique style of writing, and sometimes it might not be how someone else writes, so it's not about IMPROVING a story, it's just the author's own style.

And it's ironic you brought that topic up because I will often read comments on a blog where a reader gives their opinion to the author, and I always think, "Hey...who the hell asked you????"

Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. And just for the record...I LOVE your writing style. It's always clear, sharp, and very original!

    Have a faaaaaaabulous weekend.....X

  14. Love your comment. Many people out there write how things sound like to them - regardless of the grammar education they may or may not have had.

Would've could be mistaken for 'Would of'.

I have seen quite a few bloggers who would invent a past-participle of a word instead of using simple-past tense.

  15. Hey there Rob~

"My mind inserts the words that should be there. Reading the post out loud seems to be the best solution for me."

YES! YES! YES! I do the exact same thing. I insert words that shouldn't be there!!

Now for me, when I go back to proofread I have to read the post silently instead of out loud, because for some reason I can catch a mistake better that way. If I read it out loud, I only seem to notice the words I THOUGHT I wanted say; not reading what's actually THERE. In fact, I noticed that whenever I make the most mistakes, it's been because I didn't read it silently. God...does that make any sense?!?

"As my mom used to say, "face it, erase it, and move on."

LOVE THAT, ROB!!!!! And I agree with your Mom!

    "Hav a grate weakand, buhhdy!"

I do the same thing sometimes if I'm in a hurry. I'm actually one of those bloggers who takes DAYS to write a post, which is one of the reasons why I only post twice a week. But there have been times, like when I was on vacation in Florida back in July, when I didn't have as much time to focus on a post and noticed that I made quite a few TYPOS - HA!

"Fortunately a few times I've had someone slip me an email or write it in the comments...I am so thankful when they do.'

    Meeee too! So thankful!

Yet, if someone feels as though they wish to do it on one of my posts, as long as it's expressed kindly, I don't mind.

I find that some people are sticklers for typos.

HA! LOVE THAT...if I ever need to write a thesis on molecular biology, I'll ask for criticism then!

I once read an essay by Nora Ephron, in which she said that when she first started blogging she was ANAL about publishing a PERFECT post. Later, she realized that blogging is not about getting it perfect.

  22. Hiya Babs~

"I find it difficult to correct most bloggers, because I'm not sure if Americans use words differently."

You are soooooooooo right, my friend! Often I'll read a blog by someone who is not American and notice the difference in word usage. And it's funny because I blog with quite a few Europeans (especially British) and now find myself using words, like, "whilst" instead of "while" and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

That's one of the thing I enjoy about blogging - sharing the differences.

"Many bloggers use the word 'of' instead of 'have' like, "I would of loved to see....", when it should be "I would have loved to see.....". "

It's so ironic you mentioned that, Babs, because it's something I use to do myself - used "of" instead of "have." Even now, I have to make a conscious effort to think about that before I write it. I think for me the confusion is in how I hear it. I sounds like "of" but it's really "have."

" I do see a lot of grammatical errors, but don't have the courage to tell a person, for fear they think I'm being superior."

Same here. I've never corrected another blogger.

"I don't have a problem with being corrected, myself. There's nothing worse than a wrongly spelled word in a post :)"

  26. No one has corrected a post of mine because I'm perfect............bahahaha!

I think correcting a spelling mistake or something common like two/to/too is taking things a bit far. Everyone makes mistakes. I find errors in books all the time and they have paid professional proofreaders!

I do think if someone has a glaring error, such as using the wrong word completely, a person has the right to say something like, "did you mean x instead of y?" just to clarify for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hey Ron, I am sure I make many mistakes on most every post I put out, when I first started blogging years ago it seems that I could not stop and make a paragraph, heck the whole post could be one paragraph.

Then talking with you in fact I began using the comma, I, may, use, it, too, much, sometimes but you said to me once that using too many commas was better than using none at all (something like that anyway)

We all make mistakes while talking every single day, so why wouldn't we make mistakes in our posts, we are all human and if I get corrected then like you said, it is just someone looking out for my best interest, and if they are tacky about it all I have to do is mistakenly hit the delete button :)

    Excellent post Buddy!

  28. Hey there Bijoux~

"No one has corrected a post of mine because I'm perfect."

Yes, my friend, you ARE! :)

" I find errors in books all the time and they have paid professional proofreaders!"

That's an EXCELLENT point! I have found spelling errors in books too! And it's funny because years and years ago (when I was a kid), you would NEVER find errors in books.

"I do think if someone has a glaring error, such as using the wrong word completely, a person has the right to say something like, "did you mean x instead of y?" just to clarify for everyone."

Yes, agree. And one time I DID use the wrong word and two of my readers knew what word I MEANT to use, and pointed that out to me.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, Bijoux, and sharing your thoughts on this topic! Have a wonderful weekend!

  29. Hiya Jimmy!

"when I first started blogging years ago it seems that I could not stop and make a paragraph, heck the whole post could be one paragraph."

And it's funny because I do just the opposite. I often break up every single thought I have into a sentence or two, instead of a paragraph. I write like I talk - in quick sentences.

"when I first started blogging years ago it seems that I could not stop and make a paragraph, heck the whole post could be one paragraph."

Yes, I do remember that post I wrote about a year and half ago about comma usage. I've read several articles about comma usage from English majors, and many of them say that comma's can be used however you wish, like to take a pause. So I guess it's all in how we write individually.

" we are all human and if I get corrected then like you said, it is just someone looking out for my best interest, and if they are tacky about it all I have to do is mistakenly hit the delete button :)"

I agree. As long as someone corrects me in a genuine and caring manner, it doesn't bother me. In fact, I'm glad they did!

Thanks for stopping by, buddy! Have a terrific weekend!

X to you and Miss Cindy!

  30. I myself have never been corrected on any of my posts, but have caught several mistakes on my own after I published them. I don't think it would bother me though, if a reader pointed out an error. I think most bloggers overlook mistakes they find on someone else's blog because they realize it happens. Yet, I know there are some bloggers out there who are very picky about grammar and punctuation. So be it!

    Good post topic, Ron!

  31. Hellooooooooooo Matt~

"I think most bloggers overlook mistakes they find on someone else's blog because they realize it happens."

Yup...I do! Which is why I've never pointed out something as minor as a spelling error to a blogger. Now if it were something like Bijoux mentioned, such as a word meaning that really confused me, yes, I might; just to clarify.

"Yet, I know there are some bloggers out there who are very picky about grammar and punctuation. So be it!"

You're right, some people are very picky about grammar and punctuation; it truly bothers them if it's not correct. But if they wish to tell me in a comment or email about an error I've made, I don't mind. As long as it's done with care. Like the reader who helped me with it's versus its.

  32. our little egos can get bruised, can't they? Interesting topic about reader comments - you can't control what someone else decides to say about your post. That's just one of the rules. I agree with you though, I think that most people who take the time to leave a comment are coming from a position of friendliness. I don't receive many comments from the people who just click in to look at the pictures so haven't had any experience dealing with editorial type feedback...although I know my content is littered with spelling errors :(

guess what? the planet is still spinning. amazing.

" you can't control what someone else decides to say about your post. That's just one of the rules."

You are absolutely right! We can't control what someone else decides to say about our posts. That's one of the things that being an actor has taught me...everyone will have a different opinion about my performance because everyone sees thing differently. Some people noticed my onstage bloopers and pointed them out, while others overlooked them.

"guess what? the planet is still spinning. amazing."

    Amen!

  34. Well, shoot! I've tried to reply to Babs and ......grrrrr.......no luck! I'll try from this comment box and see if THAT one works.

    To Babs:
*laughing* You sound like he-who-understand-English ......and not American.
(this is my tease to him!)

We tend to write as we speak. I'm afraid it's very lazy in comparison.

As I loving joke with the English gent "You mighta invented the language, but we perfected it"
I say that tongue in cheek.
Truth be told......We've murdered it. :-/

And as for the corrections to a post--honestly, that's not happened once to me......yet. But you know how my readership puts up with my made up, poorly spelt and murdered use of the English language. Sometimes I simply put it out there as I speak it so it's read as it's delivered in my head and outta my mouth.
Mostly it's deliberate. *laughing* And folks who know me would know that. It's funny--those who've 'read' me and met me, would tell you that I talk JUST as I write. Case in point.

Oh, but then there's those times when my fingers just canNOT keep up with my brain....... Those are the times when I miss words in type that my fingers couldn't catch!
I'll have you know that I did NOT do well in keyboarding class which, by the way, was a part of what every good girl took -- along with shorthand cuz we were gonna need that stuff don'tchaknow! *laughing* I'd say my typing speed has done nothing BUT accelerate in the past ten years, but whose hasn't?!

Make all the errors you make, intentional or not. I don't read for the grammar, spelling or punctuation. I read for the content that shines through YOU.
Words on the screen are more about the person putting them down than the words/grammar etc... for me.

Mel, I'm the exact same way!!!! My fingers and brain can't keep up with each other, so I end up making BOO-BOO's! And I shared with Rob, if I proofread my posts aloud, I find that I only see what I THOUGHT I wanted to say. But if I proofread silently, I can usually catch an error - usually. "words like: your-you're, their-there, we're-were. I know the differences, but sometimes I don't think before using them."

Yes, I do the same thing myself - especially with your-you're. Like you, I know the right way to use them, but I don't think sometimes before using them and will catch it AFTER I publish a post - HA!

Hope you're (see, I used it right this time-tee, hee) having a fab weekend! Thanks for stopping by, bud!

  43. i am the queen of typoism. no matter how many times i read, an error is like gas, it always slips out. now i don't mind if a friend brings it to my attention, but i doubt if a joe blow passing by puts my error on blast because they care. i feel it's to point out my mistake and to tell me i'm stupid. i already know i'm stupid, i have friends to tell me that. i have a friend who used to correct every single thing i wrote in casual emails and it got old, ron. i felt she was no longer reading what i wrote, but critiquing what i wrote, thereby missing the purpose. i started sending her my blog posts to read and scan for typos (when i was blogging) since she was good at pointing things out. if one wants to spend that much time correcting me, then spend that much time helping me. if someone makes an error in a blog post, i really don't give a ****, it's a blog post. not that it shouldn't be corrected, but i challenge the motive behind their actions. as long as something is not full of typos or grammatical errors (all the time), chill out if it happens once or twice, we all make mistakes... though people are not as fast to point out their errors or mistakes, but that of others. i don't mind friends correcting me but with strangers i might frown a bit, i'll fix the typo though, but don't do or say something to someone in public when it may cause them embarrassment, be tactful about it. the internet enables people to be mean and nasty and people abuse the opportunity.

i'm not fixing the typos in this comment. hahaha!

  46. Helloooooooooooo Barb~

I was so HAPPY to see your comment when I got home this evening from work!!!! OMG...you're in the Quebec airport??? That must mean you and D are on your way home!

Don't you LOVE the fact that airports supply WiFi? I did the same thing while waiting to board my plane in West Palm Beach airport while returning to Philly. However, the WiFi in Philly DID NOT work, so I couldn't play on my computer waiting to go to Florida :(

" I reading admit to making errors evn after proofreading. I havé an additional strike against me that I don't use written English everyday. I Forget a lot!!"

That's right! I keep forgetting you speak TWO languages, so it must get confusing switching from French to English.

Ooops! I just got your second comment!

"I wish for us all even for me to accept when we err and be kind when others err"

HA! I TOTALLY understand because those iPad's can be very tricky!

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment, my friend! Wishing you and D a safe journey home!

See ya when you get back!

  48. Hey there Val girl!

" no matter how many times i read, an error is like gas, it always slips out."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Me too! And you know how GASSY I can be, especially after eating LENTILS.

"i feel it's to point out my mistake and to tell me i'm stupid. i already know i'm stupid, i have friends to tell me that."

Oh no you're not. You're far from stupid! And if anyone says you are....THEY'RE stupid!

"i have a friend who used to correct every single thing i wrote in casual emails and it got old, ron. i felt she was no longer reading what i wrote, but critiquing what i wrote, thereby missing the purpose."

    OMG...how RUDE!

" if someone makes an error in a blog post, i really don't give a ****, it's a blog post. not that it shouldn't be corrected, but i challenge the motive behind their actions."

Exactly! I think if someone is ALWAYS pointing out errors to others then THEY have an issue. Obviously, someone most likely pointed out errors to them; making them VERY critical of themselves, thus critical of others.

" i don't mind friends correcting me but with strangers i might frown a bit, i'll fix the typo though, but don't do or say something to someone in public when it may cause them embarrassment, be tactful about it."

Amen! And I have to say, anytime anyone has corrected me on one of my posts, they have always done it with courtesy and genuine care. I've never had anyone be rude or nasty. But, I agree...some people can be heartless on the Internet. Sometimes I see critical comments left on a You Tube video and cannot believe how downright CRUEL they are. This is why I don't leave comments open on my own You Tube Channel.

"i'm not fixing the typos in this comment. hahaha!"

HA! You CRACK ME UP! And no, I didn't see a single typo!

Mucho thanks for stopping by, girl! Hope you're enjoying a most spectacular weekend!

  51. Hi Meleah~

"I know I've made many a mistakes, typos, ect. And I like when someone corrects me."

    Ditto~

For me, the coolest thing about the times I've been corrected, was that the person REALLY taught me something I didn't know - like using its and it's properly.

As I shared, I wasn't very good at English/Grammar in school, so I'm grateful for blogging because it has taught me a lot!

Hope you had the BESTEST weekend, girl! OMG...the cooler temps today were knocked down GORGEOUS, weren't they?

I just want you to know that I was eating my dinner while reading your comment and just SPEWED a mouthful of rice!

    CRACKED ME UP!!!!

"It's/its is a tough one. Took me awhile to master that, too."

That is a tough one, isn't it? My first impulse is to always use it's, so I really have to think about that before I use it.

Hope you and Tara had a splendid weekend camping! Thanks for stopping by, bud!

    X to you both!

  53. Hey, I've been corrected in the past, and I'm always grateful for the help. The sooner a mistake is vetted the sooner I can correct and stop looking like an idiot.

Being a blogger, one has to develop thick skin. Don't take anything personally. It's just not worth the time and effort to get bunged up about one person's negative opinion.

But, as for the grammar Nazi's who want nothing more than to make somebody look stupid, I hope there's a special circle in hell for them. Ya know, someplace they'll feel comfortable...

" and I'm always grateful for the help. The sooner a mistake is vetted the sooner I can correct..."

That's my sentiments exactly. I'm grateful for the help and to learn something I didn't know.

"Being a blogger, one has to develop thick skin. Don't take anything personally. It's just not worth the time and effort to get bunged up about one person's negative opinion."

You said it! My training as an actor has taught me that. To develop a thick skin, without becoming callous, and don't take it personal.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy! Hope you had a super weekend and got some rest after your hike in the mountains. I can't wait to see and hear all about it!

X to you, Karin, and Mr. Tyler!

  57. Nobody has ever corrected me in an email ... or in a comment?? Lord knows I'm not perfect...far from it!! I write like I think! Kind of all over the place and scattered!! But most people who read my blog know that and understand!! You are a FABULOUS writer Ron!! I would never, ever have guessed that you weren't an English Major!! Hope you are having a great Monday!! Can you even believe that it is almost the end of September already?? Doesn't seem like it. Our leaves just aren't changing like they usually do. The hills are usually VIBRANT with color and this year...they are NOT. Hope we get some color before the snow flies. And I also hope it doesn't fly that MUCH!! I am not a fan of snow...NOPE!!

"But most people who read my blog know that and understand!!"

Yes, that's one of the things about blogging I LOVE. We each have our own UNIQUE voice!

"I would never, ever have guessed that you weren't an English Major!!"

Aw..thank you, but far from it :) I failed English terribly in school.

"Can you even believe that it is almost the end of September already?? Doesn't seem like it. Our leaves just aren't changing like they usually do. The hills are usually VIBRANT with color and this year...they are NOT. Hope we get some color before the snow flies."

OMG....I'm sooooooooo happy that fall is FINALLY here! Yesterday and today, the temps. have dropped down considerably. It was actually chilly yesterday, but I loved it! Yes, same here, no leaf changes yet. But it was the same last year. It went from summer, right into winter. I here this winter is going to be a COLD one.

Thanks for stopping by, dear lady! Have a faaaaaaabulous week!

X to you and the girls!

  59. I completely agree with you, Ron. You've done a service by writing this post. Recently, I wrote a short piece of fiction where my intent was completely misinterpreted. I ended up rewriting it after seeing some of the comments and then wrote another post pointing out how I'd messed up my intent. As long as feedback is given kindly and not derisively, it can always make us better writers. Thanks for writing about this subject, my friend.

  60. Hey there Jayne~

Thank you, my friend. And you're welcome. I felt like I needed to share this because it's something that happens to many of us.

"I wrote a short piece of fiction where my intent was completely misinterpreted. I ended up rewriting it after seeing some of the comments and then wrote another post pointing out how I'd messed up my intent."

You know, I've done that myself. I've written a blog post where I don't think I was CLEAR on what I was saying, thus I had to explain myself in almost every comment because it was misinterpreted.

"As long as feedback is given kindly and not derisively, it can always make us better writers."

Amen! I've learned a lot from readers who have pointed things out to me.

Always great to read your comments, my friend. Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

  61. Found you via In Jayne's World...or is it Jaynes World? ;)

Agree if a person takes the time to explain the correction they are probably well meaning or just really into it.

The new self-correctors on tablets play havoc with my comments. I've had to change the "corrected " spelling in this response 4x already & I often miss them.

For me, it's Strunk & White all the way.

  62. Every once in a while I will find mistakes on my posts. Even in published books, there will be spelling mistakes. There shouldn't be but we are human. I welcome it. But, I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

    HAHAAAHAHAHA!

"The new self-correctors on tablets play havoc with my comments. I've had to change the "corrected " spelling in this response 4x already & I often miss them."

I don't have a tablet, but I just recently got a new desk top computer and it does the same thing when I leave comments on blogs. The thing about self-correctors and spell check is that they really don't work in all cases, because it doesn't catch words like, 'their or there or they're' as long as you spell them correctly. And then overly-corrects words, such as, 'self-correctors.'

Please stop by anytime, you're always welcome. Have a great week!
