As most of you know, I grew up in a family that had both cats and dogs as pets; therefore hold an admiration, love, and respect for each.

Yet, I seem to connect on a more 'familiar' level with cats.

Gee….and I wonder what that familiar level could be?

Um….sarcasm perhaps?

Let’s take a look at some catcasm...

And lastly, "Simon's Cat"....

Have a MEOW of a weekend everyone!

  2. Heehee Ron, I loved the cat on the counter and the one trying to rip the couch to bits, in fact I loved this whole post. You finished off my cat tales a treat with it. Must check out simonscat.com. Happy Friday, my friend.

Oh my, what's with the word verification. Trying a third time to try and read the code.

  3. I love Simon's Cat. There's a great one I posted once about the cat walking Simon up. If you've not seen it yet, you'd love this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q34z5dCmC4M

I was raised with dogs and cats, too (and gerbils, turtles, pigs, cows and so on) and like most animals. But I most identify with cats. Less for their attitude (which I do like), but for their unabashed hedonism. I'm so with them on that.

  5. Purrrrfect post, Ron! I'm a fairly recent cat convert-- I have really strong felines for them!

I used to feed the strays around my old neighborhood to scare off the vermin and I grew really fond of them. (the cats, not the vermin!) Such fascinating creatures and I love the images and video you picked for this post. Now stop pussyfooting around and have a great weekend, buddy!

  7. Good morning Valerie~

"I loved the cat on the counter and the one trying to rip the couch to bits.

Aren't they HILARIOUS???? I searched and searched all week for cat cartoons with sarcastic humor and narrowed them down to these five.

"You finished off my cat tales a treat with it."

Yes, in fact, yesterday when I read your final cat post I almost mentioned that I was going to post this today!

Do check out Simon's Cat because I think you would LOVED it. The man who creates these animated cartoons is from the UK and he's BRILLIANT!

"Oh my, what's with the word verification. Trying a third time to try and read the code."

I think what happened is that you typed in a URL link (Simon's Cat) within your comment, and Disqus will sometimes think it's spam, so they automatically place in word verification as a filter. They do that as a protection device I think. Sorry for the hassle because I HATE word verification.

Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a Meeeeow of a weekend!

Don't you just LOVE Simon's Cat? The gentleman who creates these animated cartoons is BRILLIANT! I love how he captures such amazing detail of what it's like to be a cat!

Thank you sooooooo much for sharing that video, it was faaaaaabulous! Love the part about the 'whipped cream' in the bathroom - HA!

    AMEN!

Like you, we were raised not only with dogs and cats, but also MANY other pets. My mother is such an animal lover, so our house looked like small ZOO!!!

Yes, I remember you mentioning in one of your posts that you've recently become a cat lover. Aren't they amazing and fascinating little creatures? And yes, they're great for scaring off the vermin. Like, bugs, mice, etc. I also admire their independence.

  24. Cats! Those wonderful wonderful stuck up felines. I love them. They remind me of me, a snob who is constipated. Someone who has an attitude and does not give a shit. I love they way they will not eat because they just do not like the way the food looks. They will walk around with the tail in the air and wait until the 2nd coming for the correct morsel of cat food. With my cat it was always the most expensive can on the shelf. Yea, no food stamps for this bitch. I loved her even more becaused I envied her style and her life. She would not budge from the window sill untill all the sun was gone. Then she would lick herself yawn stretch and saunter away. Or maybe that was my ex-wife. Ron, I love all the cartoons you have posted you made me smile unCATagoricly.

    Have a PURRRfect day.

  25. I make no bones about not being a lover of cats. They, however, appear to latch on to me DESPITE efforts to get them out of my space. Apparently it's my standoffishness that evokes their desire to WIN? Who knows. I do know they're haughty, sarcastic, egocentric and JUST like me. LOL Which is why I think we don't quite get a long.

    Damn cats.

And the only reason I like the funnies shared here is cuz they're accurate in their presentation. Haughty, egocentric, sarcastic little boogers.....

Every cat I've ever had I just didn't have the heart to declaw them (from using my couch as a scratching post) because I think it messes with their psyche.

  42. As a former cat owner of longstanding, I did enjoy this post. I have learned down through the years that cats are gods and it behooves the one owned by a cat/god to do that cat/god's bidding, because the alternative usually involves a certain amount of psychological or perhaps even physical pain.

Thanks for stopping by our blog, Ron. Where in Florida did you live?

    Bwhahahahahahahahahaha! Hilarious and so TRUE!!!!

    Don't ya just love cat's/god's????

I lived in Boca Raton for five years and then ten years in Orlando. I really enjoyed my time in Florida, but the heat and humidity started to get to me when I hit about 45 years old. I moved back to the north east (Philadelphia) about 11 years ago.

  47. Hi Ronnie,
You really have a GREAT assortment of cat funnies!! How hilarious for the cat with the fish martini & cell phone!! I loved the cat scan too :).

I have lived into a dog lover's home; Dad could not stand the sight of a cat and I lived a greater part of my life without knowing about that. But, having married into a family of animal lovers( my-inlaws both loved cats), I learned to know and love them.

I love the cat's body language and his direct communication through the eyes. It turns out that cats usually like me a lot, like my neighbor's cat who comes in our garden to get pampered.

One day in the future we will adopt a cat, preferably a shelter cat that needs a loving home.

Happy evening and see you tomorrow online. xox

My father also, was NOT a cat person until my mother actually got one and then he fell in LOVE with cats.

"To have a cat is to know a cat."

You have to have one in order to truly appreciate them. Many people feel that a cat is less like a human, but I find that they're actually more like a human than we realize.

"I love the cat's body language and his direct communication through the eyes."

Yes! Yes! You said it purr-fectly! Body language and eye contact.

"It turns out that cats usually like me a lot, like my neighbor's cat who comes in our garden to get pampered."

Isn't it funny how cats can tell if you like them without even saying a word?

"One day in the future we will adopt a cat, preferably a shelter cat that needs a loving home."

Me too, Barb. All the cats I've ever had were from shelters and they were the BEST cats.

  53. Hilarious toons! But I must take umbrage on your stance on cats. Our cat loves to be around us, spoons with us, loves to have her belly stroked, and sticks to us like glue when we're sick (it's weird, but she knows when we're ill). The only thing she asks from us in return is that we worship the ground she sheds on, and feed her treats whenever she demands....

....hey wait a second. Perhaps she is a jerk cat.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hey there Herman~

"and sticks to us like glue when we're sick (it's weird, but she knows when we're ill)."

Yes! I had a cat (Jerry) who was the same way. VERY affectionate, spooned with me when I slept, and also stuck to me like glue whenever I was sick. Cats are great little healers and can tell when your sick.

"The only thing she asks from us in return is that we worship the ground she sheds on, and feed her treats whenever she demands....

....hey wait a second. Perhaps she is a jerk cat."

  59. We had both cats and dogs growing up. When I was young, I preferred cats. Now, I prefer dogs. Maybe reGreta's attitude just soured me a bit? LOL She's been our least friendly cat, I think. And probably our last one. I do love animals but they are alot of work and do make many messes too. The dog hair around our house lately is insane. If they can be taught to fetch and roll over and shake hands and all that... is vacuuming a possibility?? LOL

"Maybe reGreta's attitude just soured me a bit? LOL She's been our least friendly cat, I think."

I had a cat like too - Zoe. Very aloof and distant. Now, Jerry, on the other hand was a sweetheart. Lovable, affectionate, and so loyal to me. God, I miss that cat.

"I do love animals but they are alot of work and do make many messes too. The dog hair around our house lately is insane. If they can be taught to fetch and roll over and shake hands and all that... is vacuuming a possibility?? LOL "
