Well...okay...he's not REALLY alive.
I saw this statue of Elvis last week in front of a memorabilia shop in Old City and couldn't resist taking this photograph. And not only because of the statue, but also because of the gentleman who is kneeing behind Elvis's legs, repairing something.
Now I have to confess that I was never a huge Elvis fan, but I did like some of his music.
Such as this song.
Jailhouse Rock.
And the choreography in this clip ROCKS because it's so '50's and natural. They don't look like classically trained dancers, they just look like they're having fun. And boy, can they MOVE!
Go, Elvis!
------------------------------------------
This week I’ve been busy investigating how to add a photo gallery to my blog, where I could feature selected photographs in a portfolio slideshow; embedding it on a separate page.
As many of you already know, I enjoy learning how to customize my blog by finding tricks and tips on the Web, then trying them myself. And it's so ironic because if anyone had asked me years ago if I was interested in website design, I would have said, "Noooo way...that's way too technical for me!"
However, after being online for so many years and blogging, I eventually decided to face my apprehension and learn how to do it by using a practice blog, and then transferring it over to this blog.
I honestly find the behind the scenes of how a website works, so interesting.
I can't by any means design a complete website, but I do have a basic understanding of web design code, so I can tweak and add things to my blog, such as this new photo gallery slider.
After MUCH research and MANY mistakes, I finally figured out how to do it here.
I had to do a bit of adjusting in the CSS coding to customize it to my liking, and I also had to figure out how to remove the sidebar on a separate page so that the gallery would fit because of its long width.
Thursday at about 2:30 AM, after adding all the photos by hand, I finally completed this project by shouting, “Halleluiah...I did it!”
So if you wish, please visit my Photo Gallery page below my blog header, where you will see the final product.
I will be adding and subtracting photographs each month, so feel free to check it out occasionally.
Thanks everyone and have a ROCKIN' weekend!
X
Good morning Ron,
ReplyDeleteYour photo gallery is a wonderful feature. Congrats for finishing it.
I respect Elvis & his music but am not a die-hard fan. My Dad used to call him " Elviisss the Elvissss", the extra s for the hisssing sound he always made when pronouncing his Elvis' name :).
Be well.
Love,
B
I love it Ron! I really LOVE it!! You did an amazing job with adding the extra page!! I just found out last week that is against the "rules" to have the social media buttons on your blog match your personal blog colors! So, I created a separate page for following me on social media...they are always changing up some of the rules!! I'm not a huge Elvis fan either, but I do enjoy JailHouse Rock!! Really like that photo of YOU!! :) Happy Friday! xo Jeanne and the girlz
ReplyDeleteLOL love you as Elvis Ron! I have never been a huge Elvis fan but he was THE most beautiful man wasn't he? Then I went to Graceland and Tupelo and got to know more about him, now I like him more. Well done on the photo gallery. x
ReplyDeleteThe slide show is great! Good work!
ReplyDeleteMy parents claim they were never Elvis fans, but they go to tons of events with Elvis impersonators. I can't believe how popular he still is, but I'm sure in 20 years when that generation is gone, we will be stuck with Michael Jackson impersonators.
Hey, Ron, this post has got me all shook up! I love Jailhouse Ronnie! And you're so right about dancing in those old movies: "They don't look like classically trained dancers, they just look like they're having fun."
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly! They are just having fun, with no acrobatics or twerking, or grinding or any other kind of simulated sex acts. And they all keep their tongues in their mouths!
The Photo Gallery looks great. I really admire your determination in getting this site to look just how you want it to. I'm such a techno-boob that it something doesn't work with one click I run screaming out of the room!
Great job, and even though you never caught a rabbit, I'm proud to say that you're a friend of mine! Have a hip-shakin' weekend, buddy, and thahnk yuh very muhch!
Ron, if you haven't seen this you will love it. This two year old kid is jiving to Elvis! i mean he owns the house!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wt824D1Bqg
I like Elvis music but not the man. Jailhouse Rock was a firm favourite even though I couldn't do the dance. I do like your new photo gallery though, you're so clever at mastering technical detail. I spent a lot of time looking at the format of the pictures as well as the pictures themselves. Amazing, and well done.
ReplyDeleteOh Ron, that final photo of you as Elvis is rockin'! You are so funny! I've never been a big fan of Elvis either, but my parents were so I'm familiar with his music. I do like Lisa Presley's music though. Her voice is so sultry.
ReplyDeleteI love your new photo gallery and I'm so glad you added it because you have such a talent for taking photographs. It's a great way to showcase your work! I have no understanding of how a website works, so I really admire your ability to to customize your blog. Well done, Ron!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Bonjour Barb!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It took me FOREVER to adjust everything so that the gallery would fit on the page. Also, the gallery originally came with a thumbnail presentation on the right side, which I removed so that all you would see were the photographs.
" My Dad used to call him " Elviisss the Elvissss", the extra s for the hisssing sound he always made when pronouncing his Elvis' name :)."
HA! HILARIOUS! And that's so true, he did use a lot of s's when he said his name!
Thanks so much for stopping by, Barb. Have a super weekend!
X to you and D!
Helloooooooo Jeanne!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It was a great learning experience. That's one of the things I really like about Blogger, they give you total freedom to do what we want with our templates. I've learned SO MUCH about website customizing from having my blog here.
" I just found out last week that is against the "rules" to have the social media buttons on your blog match your personal blog colors! So, I created a separate page for following me on social media...they are always changing up some of the rules!!"
WOW, I had no idea about that RULE?! And you're right, they are ALWAYS changing something about the protocol of blog design. I really don't use many social media's. I have my photos and videos on Flickr and You Tube, but I use them only to host them, I don't socialize on them. Pinterest I just started, but again, I really don't socialize on it because I don't have the time.
Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a FAB weekend!
X to you and the girlz!
Good morning Pearl!
ReplyDelete"love you as Elvis Ron!"
HA! Thank you :)
" I have never been a huge Elvis fan but he was THE most beautiful man wasn't he?"
Yes, he was! He had a great lips!!
" Then I went to Graceland and Tupelo and got to know more about him, now I like him more."
OMG, yes, that's right! And I remember the photos you shared on your blog about it!
Thank you, I learned a lot from adding the photo gallery to my blog.
Have a lovely weekend, m'dear, and thanks for stopping by!
X
Thank you, Bijoux :)
ReplyDelete"...but they go to tons of events with Elvis impersonators. I can't believe how popular he still is.."
I know, he's STILL so popular! When I was in Las Vegas back in the late '70's, I saw Elvis impersonators walking around the street!!!
"we will be stuck with Michael Jackson impersonators."
HA! True! But oh...I LOVED Micheal Jackson. Such a talented man he was.
Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a brilliant weekend!
X
I was never a huge fan of Elvis (Mo was), but I liked his early stuff. I wasn't keen on the direction he went with his music. That scene from Jailhouse Rock is a classic. Love Ron Presley ;)
ReplyDeleteI used to design web sites, back in my working days, but I don't have the patience to do any more than tweak my blog template a bit now. With all the blog templates out there, is an actual web site needed any more, for the average person? I don't think so.
I love your slide show ;)
Hey there Rob!
ReplyDelete"Hey, Ron, this post has got me all shook up! I love Jailhouse Ronnie!"
HA! Thank you :) I added that photo last minute, right before I published this post last night. I found it on Face In Hole and couldn't resist.
"They are just having fun, with no acrobatics or twerking, or grinding or any other kind of simulated sex acts. And they all keep their tongues in their mouths!"
Bwhahahhahahaha! That CRACKED ME UP because it's so TRUE!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the photo gallery. That's one of things I really like about having my blog on Blogger because they allow us to do whatever we want with our blog templates, so I've learned a lot about customizing them throughout these many years.
" Have a hip-shakin' weekend, buddy, and thahnk yuh very muhch!"
Brilliant! And you too, buddy! Thanks for stopping by!
X
OMG...SUZI...I can't thank you ENOUGH for sharing that video clip. It was BEYOND brilliant!!!
ReplyDelete*thunderous applause*
"i mean he owns the house!"
You said it, girl. He OWNS the house!!!
And I LOVE the bow he gives at the end!!!!!
Again, thank you for sharing the clip. It's perfect for this post!
Have a ROCKIN' weekend!
X
Ron, I am sooo impressed with your new Photo Gallery! As a Web designer, I know those things can be tricky to set up correctly, so I commend you for even trying!
ReplyDeleteAnd you did a GREAT job! Looking at your shots, I feel like I'm right there, touring Philly with you -- how fun is that?!
A dumb question, though -- how did the sculptor of that Elvis statue expect him to sing into a microphone that's so far away from his mouth??
Have a FABULOUS weekend, my friend!
Gooooood morning Valerie!
ReplyDelete"Jailhouse Rock was a firm favourite even though I couldn't do the dance."
I know, I don't think I could either, but OMG...I love the music!!!
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed the photo gallery. I first tried using several other slideshow presentations (like Flickr) but you can't edit the photographs you want to use because the slideshow only allows you to show ALL your photos. I also tried another one (Cincopa) but they have a bandwidth limit usage.
Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a LOVELY weekend!
X
Hola Denise!
ReplyDelete"Oh Ron, that final photo of you as Elvis is rockin'!"
HA! Aren't I ROCKIN' ????
"I do like Lisa Presley's music though. Her voice is so sultry."
Yes, I do too!!!! I LOVE her voice! Sultry! I love her rendition of the song, "Dirty Laundry." Soooo sexy!!!!
Thank you :) I've been wanting to add a photo gallery to this blog for awhile now, but had no idea how to do it. After MUCH investigation, I finally figured out HOW. I love learning about website customizing because I find it so interesting.
Much thanks for stopping by, girl. Have a wonderful weekend too!
X
Hey there Babs!
ReplyDelete"I was never a huge fan of Elvis (Mo was), but I liked his early stuff. I wasn't keen on the direction he went with his music."
The main thing I remember about Elvis were his movies in the '50's. All those 'beach blanket bingo" type movie such as, "Clambake." I like certain songs of his, but am not too familiar with all his music.
"I used to design web sites, back in my working days, but I don't have the patience to do any more than tweak my blog template a bit now."
WOW...I don't I think realized you used to design websites. But I'm not surprised because you are SO talented with your photos and clever graphics.
"With all the blog templates out there, is an actual web site needed any more, for the average person? I don't think so."
OMG....I agree! There are so many more things you can do with a blog than just website. I had a website that I partially designed many years ago, but once I started blogging I deleted it because I found blogging much more productive. And I what I'm noticing lately is that many people who have a company website ALSO have a blog within the website.
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a super-duper weekend!
X to you and Mo!
Hey there Debbie!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear lady :) Yes, I know you're a website designer so I know you KNOW what it entails. And I am so impressed that you ARE a website designer because that's something that interests me, but never actually went to school to learn it thoroughly.
"A dumb question, though -- how did the sculptor of that Elvis statue expect him to sing into a microphone that's so far away from his mouth??"
HAHAHAHHAHAHA! OMG...I thought the SAME THING!! The microphone is like TEN FEET above his head!!!
Much thanks for stopping, Debbie! Have a FABULOUS weekend too!
X
LOL, LOVE the last photo most of all. Elvis would be so proud. Hunka, hunka...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on figuring out the photo gallery stuff. It's such a win when I work out some techie thing that I thought was beyond my scope. Right now, it's the mystery of .mobi files I'm trying to get a handle on. I'm "this close" to the last puzzle piece, re: sharing these, but can't figure that part out. No help online either, which is kind of strange. If you've got any knowledge of mobi files Ron, let me know!
I hope you have a rockin' weekend and thank you, thank you very much for yet another great post. :<)
Thank you, Geraldine!
ReplyDeleteHunka, hunka...burning love! HAHAHAHAHHA!
" It's such a win when I work out some techie thing that I thought was beyond my scope."
Yes, isn't it? It's such a great feeling of knowing you accomplished it because at first it seems impossible and beyond your scope. However, I love a challenge and learning the basics of website coding has helped me so much. I've often thought of taking a class on web design, just for the enjoyment.
" No help online either, which is kind of strange. If you've got any knowledge of mobi files Ron, let me know!"
I wish I could help in some way, but I have no idea what that is. In fact, before I left this comment, I Googled it to see what you were referring to. I did find this link. Hope it helps.

Love the Elvis statue you captured. He is actually very real looking.
ReplyDeleteAs for the photo gallery that is really awesome that you were able to do that. I love checking out your photos and I will make sure to check back to see what you add. Hope you have a great weekend Ronnie :)
Hey Elvis Ron, your new photo gallery is rockin'! I am very impressed! Very nice! Great selection of photographs too. Looks very professional.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're branching out and sharing more of your passion for photography because you've got a gift, dude!
Hiya Shae!
ReplyDelete" He is actually very real looking."
Yes! Whoever did it, really captured something on the essence of Elvis. Love the hair and sideburns!
And thank you for your kind and supportive words, girl :)
I had fun figuring out how to add this gallery.
Much thanks for stopping by, and have grrrrrrrrrreat weekend!
X
Hello there Matt!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
I tried to add a variety of images to show difference. That part took me the longest because I had to go through ALL my photographs and figure out which ones I wanted to use. With this gallery slideshow, you have add the photos by hand, so that took time as well.
Much thanks for stopping by, and for your supportive words, buddy. Really appreciate it.
Have a ROCKIN' weekend!

As you know, I'm a sucker for photo galleries and slide shows. They just add that extra "oomph" to your posts! Speaking of Elvis, I became a huge fan the day he died. Before that, I'd never heard of the guy! But I was 8 years old, so hopefully I'm forgiven. The first record I ever bought was an Elvis record - "C'mon, Everybody." Long live The King, even if it's only in statue form!
ReplyDeleteHey there Mark!
ReplyDelete"As you know, I'm a sucker for photo galleries and slide shows. They just add that extra "oomph" to your posts!"
I agree! They add an extra "oooph" to your posts or blog, which is why I wanted to add a separate page with just a photo gallery.
"Speaking of Elvis, I became a huge fan the day he died. Before that, I'd never heard of the guy! But I was 8 years old, so hopefully I'm forgiven."
Yes, isn't it funny how that is? I became more of a fan of certain certain recording artists AND actors after they died because I was either too young at the time or didn't find them interesting when they were first popular.
" Long live The King, even if it's only in statue form!"
AMEN!
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a ROCKIN' weekend on your road trip!
X to you and Tara!
Ohmygosh....you are amazing! I am very proud for you (though I've not investigated yet..I will!!). I'm one of those web illiterate...well, web limited. The girl has managed to educate me(getting my money's worth outta that college education! LOL) and, in order not to look utterly dumb, I've self taught myself a few things. But I'm still with the design I started with....7624 posts later. ROFL.
ReplyDeleteBut I adore your bravery and the lengths you go to fluff pillows and rearrange furniture so us folks feel comfy and at home. I'd be plopping on the couch and making myself comfy, regardless...but it's always a treat to listen to the video/snippet you pick for us, yaknow? You just keep doing whatcha do cuz you wanna and you can. Those touches end up makimg it a cozy place for us all.
If swivel hips makes ya happy...LOL...swivel hips it is!! I'm good with humming that one for a bit. But I'm good with Philadelphia keeping Elvis. :-/
Haha...now gonna catch the photo show!!
Okay.....well done, sir. I loked the blues and the rocks which will now forever remind me that comparison is the thief of joy. Seriously well done. I'll haffta keep tabs on that page...I love your photos. Oh...and I was really impressed that the photoshow worked on my kindle reader....some things don't!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent!!
Way to go Ron! I love how clean and simple the presentation and framing of the gallery is yet, how clever they change from image to image. Seriously, well done! Love the photos you selected as well. As I've shared with you before, your eye for photography is so wonderful. You see things that I wouldn't even notice, like the photograph of the guy painting the sign. I wouldn't even think to take a picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great statue of Elvis! It really does look like him. I enjoyed the clip of Jailhouse Rock too. What great MOVES!
Also, the photo of you as Elvis is rockin' fabulous! GO, Ronnie Presley!
Aw, thank you, Mel :)
ReplyDeleteI think of my blog as my home and how I want it to be a place that people can come and feel comfortable, have fun, learn things, and just enjoy themselves. For me, my blog is an extension of who I am and my many interests.
I had a BLAST trying to figure out HOW to do this. And you know me, I LOVE investigating and researching website projects. In the past 6 years, I've learned so much. That's what I really love about having my blog on Blogger because they give you the freedom to do what you want with your template and LEARN things.
"But I'm still with the design I started with....7624 posts later. ROFL."
Well, that's okay because your blog is like YOU - simple and clean. Not all bloggers are like me, wanting to change things every so often. I like change because it seems to keep me fresh and excited about blogging.
Thanks oodles for stopping by, dear lady. Have a super-duper weekend!
(((((((((((( You )))))))))))
X
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed the gallery.
ReplyDeleteAnd also, thank you for letting me know that it worked on your Kindle reader because that was a concern of mine. I checked to see if it would work on various browsers because sometimes these things are not compatible with ALL browsers or mobile devices.
I used this particular gallery slider because it said that it was pretty much universal.
X
Hey ho Robert!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
" I love how clean and simple the presentation and framing of the gallery is yet, how clever they change from image to image."
Isn't that COOL how it shifts from image to image? I actually had nothing to do with that because that's the way it was already designed. The only thing I DID change was removed the thumbnails on the right side of the slider because I felt like it was too much and took away from the larger photos. It seem too cluttered.
"What a great statue of Elvis! It really does look like him."
Yes, it DOES look like him, doesn't it? Especially the hair and sideburns - and the way his legs are positioned.
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a TERRIFIC weekend!
X
well dang ron, you are getting good. i haven't clicked over yet, but it's a scaring thing customizing your blog. actually i'm doing that now for something new i'm doing that won't require too much of my time other than simple uploads. you do learn after a while though how to do stuff and it is cool, especially when the darn thing works. anyhoo, glad you have just a photo page, love looking at your stuff. the photos that is. lol
ReplyDeleteHey Val!
ReplyDelete" actually i'm doing that now for something new i'm doing that won't require too much of my time other than simple uploads."
Ooooo....you've got to keep me posted about that because I'm interested in knowing what it is :)
" you do learn after a while though how to do stuff and it is cool, especially when the darn thing works."
Yes, you do. And that's why I LOVE trying new things with customizing my blog - especially when it works. And even if it doesn't work the first couple times, it such a wonderful learning experience for the NEXT time. I've learned so much from from experimenting.
" love looking at your stuff. the photos that is. lol'
Bwhahahahahahaha! CRACKED ME UP!!!
Much thanks for stopping by, girl. Have a most excellent weekend!
X
Ron, forgot to say in my comment this morning that I love the statue and photo you took of Elvis. The guy bending down and fixing whatever he's fixing, adds so much to the photograph. As you've shared before, it's a picture within a picture. Great eye you have!
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt, but I have to confess that I didn't even notice the guy bending down when I took the photo. It wasn't until I uploaded the three photos I took, did I actually see the guy there because I was so focused on the statue of Elvis - HA!
ReplyDeleteThe most startling thing about all this is the fact you look more like Elvis than the statue does. It looks more like the animated version of Danny in the Frankie Valli-soundtracked opening credits for "Grease".
ReplyDeleteExcellent stuff as usual Ron, have a Jailhouse free, Rockin' weekend.
" the fact you look more like Elvis than the statue does. It looks more like the animated version of Danny in the Frankie Valli-soundtracked opening credits for "Grease"."
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHHAHA! Dale, that CRACKED ME UP because it does kinda look like something from "Grease!"
"Go grease lightening....."
Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a super ROCKIN' weekend!
X
That was nice of you to share that link Ron, I actually wrote to that guy a couple of days ago, fingers crossed he actually reads his emails from that site.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a lovely fall Saturday in PA! It's cloudy and dark here but I've got lots to do indoors so that's ok. ;<)
Thanks again Ron!
You so welcome, Geraldine :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think it's so totally ironic that the link I picked was one you had already checked out - HA!
Hope he responds to your email.
*fingers crossed*
The weather is beautiful here today in Philly - bright, sunny and very cold. I'm hoping it's like that tomorrow when I have off, so I can get outside to enjoy it.
Although, I'm one of those people who really enjoys cloudy and dark days as well, and spending time indoors doing things.
Enjoy your day, my friend!
X
You're so patient with learning all these cool tips and tricks. If I can't do it in 10 minutes, I get frustrated. The gallery looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove the Elvis statue! My sister was a huge Elvis fan. I went through a phase in my early teens when I watched Elvis movies religiously when they were on Saturday afternoons but that passed.
I have to check out that Face in Hole. Those are so funny!
Hey there Chrissy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl :)
Do you know what's funny? I am probably the most impatient person I know, but when it comes to certain things (like learning how to customize a website) I have so much patience. Isn't that weird?
"when I watched Elvis movies religiously when they were on Saturday afternoons but that passed."
Yes, I remember his movies being on Saturday afternoons like, Clambake!
Oh, you gotta check out Face In Hole because it's soooooo freakin' fun! However, it's addictive :)
Thanks for stopping by, girl. Hope you had super weekend!
X
Ron, I stopped back to read everyone's comments and found the link that SuziCate shared, so I watched it.
ReplyDeleteBeyond brilliant is right! Boy...that little guy can ROCK!
Hey Robert! Wasn't the clip FAAAAAAAAAABULOUS?
ReplyDeleteHe's gonna be a STAR one day, I can tell!
The photo blog looks great, but what I'm seeing is one photo with arrows on either side. Clicking on the arrows brings me to another photo, but the photos automatically change before I can fully appreciate the one I'm looking at :-(
ReplyDeleteRegardless, fantastic job on updating your code by hand! Will most definitely be checking back on the photo blog.
Oh, and there are two types of people in this world: Those who like Elvis, and those who like The Beatles. Guess we now know which one you are. Heh....
" Clicking on the arrows brings me to another photo, but the photos automatically change before I can fully appreciate the one I'm looking at :-("
ReplyDeleteYes, that's one of the things I'm investigating - either figuring out how to slow it down, or including a pause button so that you can stop the slider to look at a particular photo. I will be working on that.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
"hose who like Elvis, and those who like The Beatles. Guess we now know which one you are. Heh...."
HA! Yeah, can you TELL????
Much thanks for stopping by buddy. Hope your Halloween party this weekend was FUN and FABULOUS!
X to you, Karin, and Mr. Tyler!
I'm on my way to check it out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Elvis statue! Great find! Great photos!
It is fun to tweak our sites and find new plug-ins.
Oh, wow such love photos on your Gallery Page!!! Such fun transitions too! My favorites are the rocks (look like river rocks, so smooth) and that chandelier! Oh, and the Chanel store!
ReplyDeleteHellooooooo Jean!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is fun to tweak our sites and find new plug-ins, isn't it?
For the longest time I've wanted to place a photo gallery on my blog, but didn't know how unless I used the one that Flickr offers. However, you can't pick and choose the photos you want to use on their slideshow, you have to show ALL your photos.
Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have an excellent week!
X
Aw...thank you, Jean, glad you enjoyed. With this slideshow, I'll be able to change the photo each month; adding different one.
ReplyDelete"Oh, and the Chanel store!"
I took that photograph while I was in NYC a few years ago. I used to work for Chanel, so I wanted to include it in this slideshow.
Thanks again for stopping by and for your sweet words!
Happy Monday!

I actually know an Elvis impersonator and it's soooo much fun to see him interact with the crowds. I do like (the real) Elvis' music and think the impact he made on rock and roll during that era is astounding. It's just so sad he had to succumb to the drugs and alcohol that contributed towards his death.
ReplyDeleteAnd kudos to YOU for adding such a great slide show page! It looks faaaabulous!! :-) Coding doesn't really set well with me, but I can do it if I put my mind to it. I prefer the plug and play apps.
"I actually know an Elvis impersonator and it's soooo much fun to see him interact with the crowds."
ReplyDeleteOMG...how faaaaaabulous! I've seen Elvis impersonators in Vegas, but never KNEW one!
" It's just so sad he had to succumb to the drugs and alcohol that contributed towards his death."
Yes, sad indeed. He looked so much older than he was towards the end because of all the drug and alcohol abuse. It was the same with Judy Garland.
And thank you :) It was challenging but enjoyable figuring out how to add the photo gallery.
"Coding doesn't really set well with me, but I can do it if I put my mind to it."
You're right. It's not as difficult as it seems. I mean if I can do it, anyone can.
Thanks so much for stopping by, Lisa! Hope you had a great weekend. Happy Monday!

Congrats on the new page, I hope it's hugely successful!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a super week!

Way to go! It is fun figuring this stuff out. I can't wait to take a look at the new page. You know how much I love your photography.
ReplyDeleteHey there Jen!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
It was so interesting trying to figure out HOW to do this. I first tried several different types of slideshows, but by using a website 'slider' it gave me more freedom in selecting the photos I wanted to use. This way I change them up each month.
Much thanks for stopping by, girl. Hope you're enjoying this fall!
Have a faaaaaabulous week!
X
Oh, dear God, I'm this far behind again...AND you've added more to your blog?!?
ReplyDeleteOkay, the Elvis statue reminds me of a friend whose hubby actually owned one sort of like that and had it inside her small hair salon. Interesting as it was, it just didn't fit in a tiny space so they did find it a new home.
I only have one Elvis song on my iPod currently... Bossa Nova Baby. Quite a catchy tune.
Love the photo page! You've really taught yourself a lot. I'm so jealous, my blog is so lacking! *sigh*
p.s. What the hell is my password??!! .... I continually post as a guest because I don't remember it.
Hey there Mary! No problem, just stop by whenever you feel like it. And I can't thank you enough for stopping by and reading and commenting on my posts. You're sweetheart!
ReplyDelete"Okay, the Elvis statue reminds me of a friend whose hubby actually owned one sort of like that and had it inside her small hair salon. Interesting as it was, it just didn't fit in a tiny space so they did find it a new home."
OMG...he had a statue of Elvis in a hair salon?!?! Well, I guess in a way it fit because of Elvis's 50's hairstyle!
"Love the photo page! You've really taught yourself a lot."
Aw...thank you :) It took a while to figure out HOW to get the slider onto a separate page, but I finally figured it out. I have learned so much about web design through blogging - especially being on Blogger because they allow us to do most anything with our blogs. I love the freedom that Blogger allows.
"p.s. What the hell is my password??!! .... I continually post as a guest because I don't remember it."
That's okay because you're comments are going through, posting as a guest. Before, for some reason, your comments were being held in moderation, even though I approved your account. If you feel like it, the next time you leave a comment, feel free to leave your blog link within your comment so that my other readers can stop over to your blog.
