A view looking down from my apartment window

Question: Can someone please tell me why, that even though you're afraid of heights, you also have to stop yourself from the disturbing desire to JUMP?

------------------

I think it’s hilarious that I have a fear of heights, yet I live in a high-rise apartment building on the 21st floor.

I also think it’s hilarious that I always said I would never live in a high-rise apartment, yet I do.

Lesson: Never say NEVER.

Now I don’t have a problem looking directly OUT from high heights, but I cannot look straight DOWN. In fact, over two years ago I shared a post on that topic. If I look down I get a queasy and painful feeling in my genitalia, as if someone just KICKED me there.

(um...that must be a guy thing)

I’m one of those people who even while watching a movie, in which one of the characters is standing close to an open window or ledge of a high building, will get sweating palms just LOOKING at it.

Which brings me to the topic of this post.

Scene: Looking out a window
Time: A Sunday morning about 9:15 AM
Place: My apartment

I had just finished pouring myself a cup of French press coffee last Sunday morning and was still half asleep, when I turned around and looked out one of my windows, which overlooks the city of Philadelphia, and suddenly saw THIS.

So of course, being a blogger, I GRABBED my camera; threw open the window; set my camera lens on zoom; and began snapping pictures very fast, as to get as many shots as I could.

And just to let you know, that roof you see is about 20 floors off the ground.

Next, is a closer shot of the guys walking around on the roof so utterly blase and casual. Now if I were one of those guys, I would throw myself face down onto the roof and begin belly-crawling towards the nearest exit door.

This next photo had me wanting to yell out the window, "HEY GUYS...WATCH OUT YOU DON'T FALL BECAUSE YOU'RE FREAKING ME OUT!!!!!!"

I mean can you believe how CLOSE they are to the edge of the roof????

And notice that one guy TEXTING on his cell phone.

Okay, this next photo is when I started to seriously PANIC. Even as I type this, the palms of both my hands are beginning to sweat, looking at this image.

LOOK HOW CLOSE THEY ARE TO THE EDGE OF THE ROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What, do they have a DEATH wish?????

Now this next photo is the ULTIMATE in TERROR.

I mean besides the fact that I could see BUTT CRACK on the two guys on the left, I cannot BELIEVE how close they were to the ledge! It looks like they're getting ready to do tumblesaults off the roof.

OH..MY..GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, and it was at this point I got that queasy and painful feeling in my genitalia.

As if someone had just KICKED me there!

The End

Wishing you a fabulously heightened weekend everyone!
X

  1. OMG Ron I know exactly what you mean! I am sweating just looking at your photos! I used to live on the sixth floor of a high rise, when I was younger, and had to go out onto the balcony and stand on a stool to clean the lounge windows, whoah, suffice to say they didn't get cleaned too often. I could look out but definitely not down without wanting to throw myself off!

  2. O.M.G. I could feel the panic heightening in the words...the photos just confirmed it.
What ARE they doing up there?! I'd been tossing my window open and screaming at 'em to GET OFF THE FREAKING PHONE and watch what they're doing.
OMG Isn't there a law about texting and walking on the top of a very high building?!
Seriously, I'm not afraid of heights--but I do have a healthy respect for them.

That first photo had me doing a double take. It took me reading the post to figure out what it was I was looking at. AWESOME photo. NOT real sure what body parts you were hanging on to when you took it--
    ROFL
PRETTY sure I don't wanna know! Hahahaha

    Have an amazing weekend sir!

  3. Ok, it is waaaaaay too early in the morning for me to be looking at photos like this, Ron! I'm getting that queasy feeling, right in the stomach (yeah, like NORMAL people, Ronnie!)

I do not know how anyone can stand there so nonchalantly. Insane! I wonder if the wind felt good on their buttcracks? Bahahaha!

    Have a super weekend!

  4. Yikes! I'm not fond of heights, but i recently nerved myself to climb up on the roof of my mother's house! I didn't want to do it, but DirtMan was cleaning the chimney and needed the brush extender...And I made it back down the ladder!

  5. I'm guessing you won't be making the journey to KC to try this new ride then?

  6. funny, I can down with more comfort that looking straight out
I have this odd off balance feeling when presented with wide open space and height

love your photos, I assume those guys are just used to roofs by now

  7. Hey there Lady Dianne!

"I can down with more comfort that looking straight out. I have this odd off balance feeling when presented with wide open space and height."

Wow...isn't that something how certain things effect people differently?

" I assume those guys are just used to roofs by now."

Exactly. And I think it takes a certain person to do something like this. And thank god there are people who have no fear of high heights, or we would never have our roofs fixed, right?

Much thanks for stopping by, dear lady. Have a fantabulous week!

X to you, Hope, Athena, Siren, and Isadora!

  8. Hola Denise!

" Also, as long as I'm enclosed in something (like a air plane) I don't have a problem with heights. But if I'm in a glass elevator, which is open, I freak out."

OMG...I'm the same way! I remember when my family and I stayed at the Contemporary Hotel in Disneyworld back in the early '70's, and having to ride the glass elevator inside the hotel lobby. I had to turn around and face the elevator door because I could NOT look through the glass.

"Do you know what really amazes me? The guys who hang off the side of a high buildings and wash windows. How can they do that?"

THANK YOU! I see them sometimes in the city and think, " OMG...there is no way in hell I could do that?!?" And I don't care if someone paid me $100.00 per hour to do it.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a wonderful weekend too!

  9. "Ron, it must be a guy thing because I get the same feeling. I feel it there and in my throat."

HA! I'm glad to hear that I'm not the ONLY one who feels that, Matt!

"which is why I can't do roller coasters, ferris wheels or tower rides. Not only do I have a fear of heights, but I get motion sickness as well. I'm such a bore at an amusement park because I can't ride anything."

Meeeeeeee too!!!!! Hell, even the Merry-go-round makes me queasy - HA! I'm one of those people who goes to amusement parks and holds everyone's coat, purse and camera, while they ride the rides.

" I can't believe how close you got to those guys on the roof."

The zoom in my new camera is really great. And what's really great about it is that it doesn't lose the focus when you zoom in real close. I am so loving this camera. I'm so glad I got it!

" How did you take that shot without freaking out?"

I held my arms WAY out the window and just snapped the camera. I took about 4 photos and then edited the one you see. But in the whole 11 years that I've lived in this building, I have never once actually stuck my head out the window and looked straight down.

Much thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a faaaaaabulous weekend!

  10. I guess when you do something for a living, it becomes second nature to you. Those guys probably don't have an ounce of fear when it comes to heights. Personally, I'm with you...I think they're NUTS!! But I guess the pay is good.

As for me, I'm more claustrophobic than anything else. Get me into a confined space and I freak out. God forbid I ever end up trapped in an elevator!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I have a fear of heights too Ron but I AM ok as long as I'm not in an open, high area...if that makes sense.
I also lived on the 21st floor of a high rise, years ago in Toronto and many a night, I'd sit in the big bay window seat at the front of the apartment, watching the scene far below. Didn't bother me at all. But put me on a open high, roof with just a railing etc, around the edge and I'm in big trouble. I had a panic attack in a situation like this on a high building and needed help to get back to the stairway. I can still remember the feeling of being short of breath that day.
wow, those are some photos! they make me queasy too.
    Happy Weekend Ron! G

  12. "I guess when you do something for a living, it becomes second nature to you. Those guys probably don't have an ounce of fear when it comes to heights."

You're absolutely right, Mark! And I think it takes someone who really WANTS to do something like that, and who isn't afraid. Kinda like a fireman. I don't know HOW they do it, but they do.

And yeah, I bet the pay IS good. But OMG...I couldn't do it for any amount of money - HA!

"Get me into a confined space and I freak out. God forbid I ever end up trapped in an elevator!"

OMG...you would have DIED if you had been trapped in the elevator like I was this past summer. I get claustrophobic myself, but it was more about how HOT it was in that elevator, than the closeness.

Much thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a most excellent weekend!

    X to you and Tara!

  13. "I have a fear of heights too Ron but I AM ok as long as I'm not in an open, high area...if that makes sense."

Yes, Geraldine, that makes PERFECT sense because I'm the same way. I can't do glass elevators because of the openness. But I'm okay in an air plane, looking out, because I'm enclosed.

"I also lived on the 21st floor of a high rise, years ago in Toronto and many a night, I'd sit in the big bay window seat at the front of the apartment, watching the scene far below. Didn't bother me at all."

OMG...you lived on the 21st floor of a high rise too? I love the view, especially at night with all the city lights. But I have to look OUT, not DOWN, or I freak - HA!

"I had a panic attack in a situation like this on a high building and needed help to get back to the stairway. I can still remember the feeling of being short of breath that day."

I don't blame you because I would have been the same way!!! Just reading what you said, I could FEEL it.

Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

  14. Ron, just looking at how close these guys were to the edge of that roof makes my heart pound! You had it so right when you asked if they had a death wish -- I hear you!

Isn't it funny how things like this scare us? There's a building in Chicago (Willis Tower) that offers visitors the opportunity to go out on a glass ledge, where you can view the city. Right, here's what that looks like, if you dare! http://www.theskydeck.com/

Why is flying somehow so different? Do we just KID ourselves that we're safe up there, ha!

Thanks for snapping those pictures and starting my weekend off to new heights -- hope yours is splendid!

  15. I don't think you need to fear for these guys Ron, they are obviously roofers who have no fear of heights whatsoever. Now me - I have vertigo & PBV (benign positional vertigo, which means my head doesn't know which way is up sometimes), so I can't look down even from a step stool without getting dizzy. I live on the 3rd floor of an apt. bldg. & I can sort of half glance towards the ground without getting sick. If I look out my window now all I can see are fluffy snow flakes falling. We have had a lot of snow this week! If this pic was taken this week, you must be having nice weather in Philly! Roofers in our part of the world would have to shovel about a foot of snow off the roof & wear parkas to do any work. Have a great weekend!! (psst - don't tell the NaNoWriMo Gods I goofed off to have a quick read of your post).

  16. Ron, this was terrific! I laughed. That last picture though - here's what I think. The guys had been drinking beer. The one standing drank the least and he's peeing. Number 2 guy had a little too much. Number 3 had way too much!

Any of these pictures would be great for your calendar but I like the last one best.

I am a little afraid of heights. I'm usually fine if I have a railing or something around me. I could not do what ironworkers do. If you don't know, don't ask.

You are absolutely right about never saying NEVER. If you hear someone say they will never do something, you can bet the farm they eventually will.

  17. Lol Ronnie you are too much. I laughed for most of that because I really think I would be freaking out with you. I hate heights oh so very much. They make me sick to my stomach. Yet I get weird urges to do things like cliff walks and go to the top of the statue of liberty. I think I must enjoy torturing myself much like you seem to enjoy doing to yourself with that camera of yours!

  18. i'm not really afraid of height, but i don't like being up high. LOL. how's that for denial. i can go up high, i just need some protection around me or i start to sway. being on that roof, um maybe i could but looking over no. i do want to go on my roof at work and see what i can see, but my job won't let me go.

you got some great shots, i wonder what they are doing up there?

the window washers at my job scare me actually. that's a job i could never do.

  19. Hellooooooo Debbie!!!!

"Ron, just looking at how close these guys were to the edge of that roof makes my heart pound!"

HA! I know, isn't it something how even by LOOKING at a photo you can get that feeling?

"Right, here's what that looks like, if you dare!"

OMG!!! I went over and looked at the video clip and FREAKED OUT watching those people standing on the glass ledge! I swear to god, the palms of my hands started sweating!! There is NO WAY I could walk out onto the ledge - HA!

"Why is flying somehow so different? Do we just KID ourselves that we're safe up there, ha!"

It's funny Debbie, because height doesn't bother me when I'm on a plane because I'm enclosed. I can even look out the widow without freaking out. I'm not someone who really loves to fly. I do it because it's the fastest way to get there, but I would much rather travel by train somewhere.

Much thanks for stopping by, dear lady. And thanks again for sharing the link to that video! Have a splendid weekend!

Exactly! They're so used to it that it doesn't even bother them. I was more FREAKED for myself - HA!

"I have vertigo & PBV (benign positional vertigo, which means my head doesn't know which way is up sometimes), so I can't look down even from a step stool without getting dizzy.'

Yes, I've known other people who have vertigo as well.

"If I look out my window now all I can see are fluffy snow flakes falling. We have had a lot of snow this week! If this pic was taken this week, you must be having nice weather in Philly!"

Oh, I'm sooooooooo envious that you have SNOW! I've been waiting for our first really good snowfall here, but so far we've had nothing. Yes, the weather here has been more like spring weather than fall/winter. However, Sunday it's supposed to FREEZE and I can't wait because I love the cold.

" (psst - don't tell the NaNoWriMo Gods I goofed off to have a quick read of your post)."

"you got some great shots, i wonder what they are doing up there?"

Thank you. Those guys are putting a new roof on that building. They've been working on it all week and are still out there everyday.

Sorry, but there is no way in hell I could even walk on that roof, let alone get that close to the edge. I realize these guys are used to it because they do it everyday, but what if a strong wind suddenly came along and blew them off the edge of that roof or they suddenly lost their balance?

What were they doing up there anyway?

You got some really great shots, Ron. Especially that first one. SCARY!

"What were they doing up there anyway?"

They're laying down a new roof on that building. They've been working on it all week and are still going at it. It's a pretty big roof, so it's probably going to take some time.

Well, I dumbly follow him and then stop and look back and OH GEEZ. I'm sick. I'm dizzy. I CAN'T MOVE. I hate that. I used to not be scared of heights. Sigh. But too funny how you grabbed your camera. 30. Ron, I can't believe how some people have no thoughts of danger and can stroll about like that on a roof, so high up! There is no way, at all, that I could step foot on that roof. I have a very practical fear of heights. I get dizzy and could easily fall. Dizzy is only one of the things that heights do to me, but painful genitalia isn't one of them :)

I do envy people that don't have these fears though. I could experience so much more in life without them.

Whilst reading this I thought of how hubby was soooo scared of heights on mountain chair lifts and how I used to help him cope with it by looking OUT not DOWN and then slowly lowering his eyes until his vision adjusted..... then I came to the picture of those men on the edge of the ledge and my stomach did a u-turn. Their nerves must be made of steel, that's all can say. You did well to capture such good shots from such a great height. BTW looking down your building to the next window ledge - it looks for all the world like a row of letters. Be a pal and go see what they are, or IF they are.... grins.

  37. "Even as I type this, the palms of both my hands are beginning to sweat, looking at this image." And my palms are sweaty typing my comment. I think some people are just wired for heights and they are not. And then there are weird people like me who love roller coasters, but who hate climbing up three flights of stairs to get to the loading zone for Talon at Dorney Park (Allentown, PA). I will sit on the front seat, and ONLY the front seat of the ride, but I need to be talked through climbing open steps where I can see ever so clearly how high up I am. Weird.

p.s. I think that disturbing feeling about being scared of heights but having a strange desire to jump has a clinical name, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Why does that even exist? That should have evolved out of the human race by now because it's just f*cking crazy.

HAHAHAHAHA! See, what did I tell ya? Even looking at these pictures made my palms sweat - especially that last one of them standing right on the edge of that LEDGE!!!!!!

"think some people are just wired for heights and they are not. And then there are weird people like me who love roller coasters, but who hate climbing up three flights of stairs to get to the loading zone for Talon at Dorney Park (Allentown, PA)."

OMG...I can't stand to do either one of those things. I soooo admire people who can ride roller coasters because I am chicken shit.

"but I need to be talked through climbing open steps where I can see ever so clearly how high up I am. Weird."

No, I don't think that's weird at all because open steps are OPEN, so there is nothing surrounding you. I'm the same way. I can look out and down through the window of an air plane and it doesn't bother me at all. But put me on an open staircase and I FREAK!!!

"Why does that even exist? That should have evolved out of the human race by now because it's just f*cking crazy."

Exactly! Why does that even exist? My grandmother had the same thing. She was afraid that if she was up high, she would JUMP! Just for the hell of it I Googled that and found this link:

  42. Heh...what a nightmare scene!

Actually, being an ex-rock climber, you get very accustomed to heights and being on the edge. I'm sure these guys are used this sort of thing. But man, being years out of rock climbing I now find myself getting the fear whenever I'm at altitude. And yes, parts of my body want to crawl back in when I'm peering over the edge. I can confirm, it is a guy thing ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hey there Herman!

OMG...you used to be a ROCK CLIMBER?!?!? Yes, I'm sure you do get use to it, but there is no way in HELL I could do climb rocks! God, I really admire you for being able to do that!

"But man, being years out of rock climbing I now find myself getting the fear whenever I'm at altitude."

Well, I can do identify with that because heights FREAK ME OUT - Ha!

"And yes, parts of my body want to crawl back in when I'm peering over the edge. I can confirm, it is a guy thing ;-)"

HA! Thank you for confirming that!!!!!

Much thanks for stopping by on your blogging break for a read. I really appreciate that, buddy!

Hope you're enjoying your week off with the family!

X to you, Karin, and Mr. Tyler!

  44. i am afraid of heights!!!! Now I have to say... I challenge myself and actually climb to high places. I climbed the light house and was SO PROUD. My heart was pounding... I had to put my back against the wall when I made it to the top... but I DID IT! But what THESE guys are doing? NO FREAKING WAY!!!

Your pictures are AMAZING!!!!!!!! I love shots like this... I absolutely love your eye... we seem to want to take pictures of the same kinds of things.... two peas in a pod!!! Yours are amazing!

    *applause*

You GO, girl! And I'm proud of you too!

But you're right, what these guys are doing? NO FREAKING WAY!!!! And I don't care how much they would pay me.

"we seem to want to take pictures of the same kinds of things.... two peas in a pod!!!"

Yup! You and I see things the same way when it comes to our photographs. We have the same eye when it comes to seeing beauty in what others find decaying and ugly.

    YOUR photos are amazing!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a flawless week!

  46. Did you ever find out why they were on the roof? I had to laugh at "being a blogger, I grabbed my camera.' I do the same! I knew I would be blogging about jury duty this week, so I was taking pictures of everything in and around the courthouse. I'm sure my fellow jurors thought I was nuts!

    ReplyDelete
  47. "Did you ever find out why they were on the roof?"

Hi Chrissy! Yes, they were/are in the process of reroofing it. They're still working on it.

" I knew I would be blogging about jury duty this week, so I was taking pictures of everything in and around the courthouse. I'm sure my fellow jurors thought I was nuts!"

OMG....and I can't WAIT to see them on your blog!!!!!!!

    Thanks for stopping by, girl!

  48. I hate to see people on the edge of a roof. Just freaks me out on their behalf. And I was just talking last weekend when I was hiking along a ledge that I always have the fear that I might impulsively jump.

Also - I get a similar;y located feeling when I see someone get hurt. Not like I've been kicked, but more an achey awful feeling. And one of my female patients once mentioned getting the very same sensation when she saw someone hurt.

  49. " And I was just talking last weekend when I was hiking along a ledge that I always have the fear that I might impulsively jump."

HA! See, what did I tell ya? As much as we can fear high heights, there's that strange impulsive urge to JUMP!

"Also - I get a similar;y located feeling when I see someone get hurt."

OMG...I do too! In fact, I get that way whenever I see anyone in pain. It truly upsets me to see others in physical pain.

    Thanks for stopping by, girl!

  50. Ron, I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee while I was reading this or I would have spurted it out my nose. I am so with you on the height thing. And a butt crack sighting at 20 stories high ... is that a new record? I think "Vertigo" is my middle name because I don't have one.

    ReplyDelete
  51. PS: Ron, when you have time, could you email me at:
    veggiecook at myway.com
I have a computer question (about photo effects) I think you could probably answer. Thanks so much!

  52. (um...that must be a guy thing)

Ron, it must be a guy thing because I get the same feeling. I feel it there and in my throat. I am such a wuss when it comes to heights, which is why I can't do roller coasters, ferris wheels or tower rides. Not only do I have a fear of heights, but I get motion sickness as well. I'm such a bore at an amusement park because I can't ride anything.

Awesome photos! I can't believe how close you got to those guys on the roof. And the first image of your apartment view is eerily spectacular because you get a definitely feeling of how high up you are. WOW! How did you take that shot without freaking out?

    Great post, dude!

  53. "I'm guessing you won't be making the journey to KC to try this new ride then?"

OMG....DALE!!!! When I clicked over on the link and saw that view from the top of the water slide, I FREAKED!!!!!!

And yes, it's safe to say that I WON'T be making the journey to KC to try this new ride. NO WAY!!!!

"As the saying goes "I don't think we're in Kansas any more" we're in Crazyville, USA."

    HAHAHAHAHAHA! Loved that, Dale!!!

Thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a most excellent weekend!

  54. Morning Suzi!

"I didn't want to do it, but DirtMan was cleaning the chimney and needed the brush extender...And I made it back down the ladder!"

BRAVA! OMG...I don't know HOW you did that because climbing ladders freak me out. I think it's because they're so open and there is nothing surrounding me. I'm okay if I'm enclosed in something, but if it's something like climbing a ladder onto a roof....OMG!!!!!!

Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a terrific weekend!

  55. Hey there Bijoux!

" I'm getting that queasy feeling, right in the stomach (yeah, like NORMAL people, Ronnie!)"

    Bwhahahhahahaha! Cracked me up!!!

I have no idea why, but I get that same feeling in my genitalia. It could be my fear of protecting my "jewels" - HAHAHHAHAHAHA!

"I do not know how anyone can stand there so nonchalantly. Insane! I wonder if the wind felt good on their buttcracks? Bahahaha!"

Bwhahahhahahaha! OMG...you're killing me! And it was very COLD that day too, so I bet they got a butt chill.

Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a SUPER weekend!

  56. Hiya Mel!

"O.M.G. I could feel the panic heightening in the words...the photos just confirmed it."

    HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA! Yes, could you tell??

"OMG Isn't there a law about texting and walking on the top of a very high building?!"

And what kills me is how CASUAL he looks texting, while standing so close to the edge!

". AWESOME photo. NOT real sure what body parts you were hanging on to when you took it--ROFL
PRETTY sure I don't wanna know! Hahahaha"

HAHHAHAHAHA! I took that photograph by hanging JUST my arms out the window and snapping the camera. I took about 4 photos of that view and then edited the one you see, by adding those white beams of light to create DRAMA - HA!

Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a super-duper weekend!

  57. Hey there Rob!

Thanks, bud. I took these photos so fast, I didn't know if any of them would come out.

"I work right across the street from the Freedom Tower site and I'll never understand how those construction workers do it! I get vertigo just thinking about being up so high."

OMG yes, I remember when Val and I visited you during the summer and we looked up at the Freedom Tower site and I thought the same thing. How do they do it?!?!

"I can handled heights if I'm indoors, but if anyone tries to get me outside, I'll kick 'em square in the genitalia!"

HA! Yes, that's me too! If I'm out in the open, I can't handle it. But if I'm INSIDE, I can. As long as I don't look DOWN. I remember going up to the observation deck in the World Trade Center in 2001 and the height didn't bother me like I thought I would. But I think that's because the deck was not close to the edge of the building.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a high-flying weekend!

  58. Goooood morning Pearl!

" I am sweating just looking at your photos!"

HA! I know, isn't it hilarious how just by even LOOKING at a photograph of a high height, you feel that panic?

"I could look out but definitely not down without wanting to throw myself off!"

I know....why is that???? I remember my grandmother saying that when I was a kid and thought she was crazy. But then as I got older, I felt the exactly same way - I felt like I wanted to JUMP - HA!

Thanks so much for stopping by, m'dear! Have a lovely weekend!

  59. Ron, the first photograph of the view looking down from your apartment made me dizzy! What a great shot! Like you, I cannot look down from high heights, but have no problem looking straight out. Also, as long as I'm enclosed in something (like a air plane) I don't have a problem with heights. But if I'm in a glass elevator, which is open, I freak out.

Do you know what really amazes me? The guys who hang off the side of a high buildings and wash windows. How can they do that?

Great photographs, Ron! Have a wonderful weekend!

  61. Funny, they don't look like plumbers, but the ass crack says otherwise!

I'm not a fan of heights either. Weird thing is I used to paint houses for a living. I'd sweat like a goat every time I had to scale a ladder 20+ feet in the air. Guess my fear of not being to pay my bills outweighed my fear of falling to my death!

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and the Friday madness isn't too nutty for you tomorrow.

  62. Helloooooooooo there Jeff!!!!!

"Funny, they don't look like plumbers, but the ass crack says otherwise!"

Bwhahahahhahaha! That CRACKED ME UP, MAN!!! And I don't mean "butt crack" - bwhahahahahhaha!

"I'd sweat like a goat every time I had to scale a ladder 20+ feet in the air. Guess my fear of not being to pay my bills outweighed my fear of falling to my death!"

Exactly! And I so admire you for doing it in spite of your fear!

Thanks a BUNCH for stopping by, buddy! Hope you and your family are having an AWESOME Thanksgiving Day today!

  63. Do not like heights either. Especially going up in one of those clear glass elevators that hang on the outside of buildings. *EEK!*

Those guys must be very used to the heights. That or they're just high and they really don't care! ;)

  64. Helloooooooo Nitebyrd!

" Especially going up in one of those clear glass elevators that hang on the outside of buildings. *EEK!*"

OMG....EEK is right! Clear glass elevators FREAK ME OUT! I remember riding the one in the Pier 66 Hotel in Fort Lauderdale on the night of my high school senior prom. OMG!!!!

" That or they're just high and they really don't care! ;)"

    Bwhahahhahahaha! That cracked me up!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Sis! Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving Day!

  66. Hellooooooooooo Jean!

" Yes, yes, they do need to get the hell away from the edge of that building and stop monkeying around. What were they doing?"

Yes, I agree! They need to get the hell away from the edge because they were FREAKING me out - HA!

They were (and still are) putting a new roof on that building. They've been working on it for over a week.

Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a great week!

  70. Heights don't usually bother me but that shot looking down from your apartment gave me serious vertigo! The men on the roof was a little disturbing, but I suppose they do it all day, every day and don't even think about it. And of course you grabbed your camera! I expect nothing less. :-)
