My inspiration for this post came from my dear, longtime blogging friend, Debbie @ Musings by an ND Domer's Mom, who is not only a gifted...
I don't know about you, but I ADORE getting gift cards! Many people feel as though they can be kind of cold and unthoughtful, however, I would much rather receive gift cards as gifts because then I can purchase whatever I want. To me, they are the ideal practical gift.
Anyway...
Two months ago, one of the companies I work for gave their employees reward points for achieving their goals. And I honestly didn't realize how many points I had accumulated over the past few years, which totaled $250.00. They sent us a list of various gift cards so that we could use the points as money to purchase them. I chose two $50.00 gift cards from Barnes & Noble, two $50.00 gift cards from Best Buy, and one $50.00 gift card from Options Card, which you see in the photograph above.
I already used one of the Barnes and Noble gift cards and am waiting to use the two from Best Buy until I really need something electronic. And the one from Options Card, I just recently used to purchase some black dress shirts for work. I went online and searched each stores' website to see if they had what I was looking for. Eventually, I found an AMAZING sale at Old Navy on black dress shirts for only $12.99 each!
Yet, I was apprehensive about purchasing clothes online without trying them on because of my slight build and having to buy a lot of my clothes in the young men's department because I'm too small for most adult men's clothing. But then I thought, "What the hell, for only $12.99 and not actually having to fork out the money from my own pocket, why not?" So, do you know what I did? I bought THREE of the same shirt in size small.
And about six days ago, they arrived....
Believe it or not I kept forgetting that I had it, so I didn't open the package until DAYS later. But when I finally opened it and saw what the shirt looked like, I was extremely happy that I had made the purchase. Not only did I immediately love the soft cotton material, but it fit perfectly!
And what I especially like about this shirt is that it can be worn dressy or casual.
Here, take a look...
Since I sometimes wear a tie at work, I wanted to show you what the shirt looks like with some of my ties...
Here is the shirt with an open collar under a black sport coat and also with a black turtleneck...
I decided to have a little fun with these next few photographs by creating faux magazine prints, almost like an ad for Old Navy. I played around with some photo editing software to create more of a 'magazine' look. And these modeling poses are what you typically see in many men's fashion magazines.
So, here I am striking a few poses.
Ronaldo....a faux supermodel for Old Navy.
*Note: If anyone is looking for a 58-year old, 5'7" munchkin-size runway or print model, please contact me. I'll pay you $100.00 an hour to hire me.
