Don't you just love this time of year?

It's kinda like when Autumn (my favorite season) moves in and you begin to feel a change in not only the energy around you, but also a change in everything you see. That's one of the main things I love about moving back to the Northeast from South Florida. I LOVE the change and shift of the seasons; each one offering something different.

Spring is the season of renewal, bright colors, and sunlight.

Lately I've gotten lazy with my DSLR camera, by using my cell phone to take pictures because it's so much easier and faster to just click the camera button on my phone because it's more readily in my hands. However, I wanted to break away from my habitual usage of my phone camera and get back into using my Canon. And using it on manual mode.

Today, my day off, I spent several hours outside trying to capture all the beautiful color and sunlight of spring before it's gone.

And guess what?

I took all of these photographs with my Canon, and not my cell phone.

I swear to God! 👼

Please enjoy the color and sunlight of Spring...

Wishing you a bright and colorful week, y'all!

That is one way to spend time, and worthwhile, too.
I love all these wonderful photographs, and my favourite is the first one. It has everything, warmth, colour and design. A beauty. All the others are brilliant but there's something about No.1. that took my breath away. Thank you for sharing these beauties with us. You put me to shame, Ron. I haven't taken a picture in ages.
Hope you have a good rest of the week x

  2. Wow! Your area is a few weeks ahead of us in blooms. What gorgeous shots, Ron! I love the pansies because they remind me of my childhood home, where we grew them by the front stoop. The last photo is funny . . . Ants LOVE peonies! Thanks for sharing spring with us!

  3. So beautiful, Ron!!
Springtime is the best of the year... I think 🤔

  4. Aw...thank you, Valerie! :)

The first one is my own personal favorite as well because I like how sunlight is positioned in that shot.

I know exactly what you mean because for the past several months, I've been frequently using my cell phone to take pictures, rather than my camera. I've got to get out of that habit or I'm going to lose my ability to use a camera in manual mode.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a lovely week!

  5. Thank you, Anna. And thanks so much for stopping by. I am so enjoying your photographs. So glad to have found you through Lady Fi.

By the way, I spent a summer in Holland (Amsterdam) and LOVED it! Great city, and very nice people. I would love to go back some day for a visit.

    Have a great week!

  6. Thank you, my friend :)

I would say that within the past ten days, all the flowers here have suddenly blossomed. I was so afraid that they'd all suddenly disappear, I grabbed my camera yesterday and walked around the city practically all day, snapping pictures.

Aren't pansies such a sweet and happy-looking flower? They look like they have faces and that they're smiling.

HA! Yes, arts the ants on that peony hilarious. That was one of the last pictures I took yesterday and was so happy to have captured it.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a glorious week!

  7. Ron, each photo is an insight into your soul. The beauty here here is what makes us know that God is the ultimate artist and those of us who can bring out that joy and wonder have the special gift of awareness. You my friend posses that gift. Thank you for sharing it with the world.

  8. Beautiful photos, Ron! I also rely on my phone to take pictures more frequently now; it's not only convenient, but the camera on my Pixel 3 takes really good photos!

I hate ants - even moreso lately since they have invaded our kitchen - but I have to admit, they just make that last picture. Happy Spring!

  9. Glorious photos, Ron! I know what you mean about using the camera phone -- they've gotten so GOOD with them lately -- but your Canon is amazing! Such detail, such clarity -- makes me feel like I'm right there and can reach out to sniff these beauties! I've got Spring photos in my camera to share, if I ever find the time to post them! Thank you for a beautiful start to my Wednesday -- enjoy the rest of your week, my friend!

  10. Dave, I can't thank you enough for your beautiful words....

"he beauty here here is what makes us know that God is the ultimate artist and those of us who can bring out that joy and wonder have the special gift of awareness."

You are sooooooooo right....God is the ultimate artist. And we are the channels through with the artistry is expressed.

Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by and your insight, my friend. It's so good have you back blogging again, I've missed your wisdom.

    Have a faaaaaaaaabulous weekend!

" I also rely on my phone to take pictures more frequently now; it's not only convenient, but the camera on my Pixel 3 takes really good photos!"

I know, same here. Ever since I got this new phone (a year ago), it's just so easy to use it to take pictures because the quality is so good. But I also don't want to lose my ability to use my camera in manual mode because it's more challenging.

HA! Aren't the ant's faaaaaaaaabulous? I didn't even notice them when I first focused my camera. It wasn't until I started to snap that I began to see them crawling all over the peony.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a faaaaaaabulous weekend!

    X to you and Tara

  12. Aw, thank you, Debbie :)

Yes, isn't it something how GOOD the quality of the cameras on our phones have gotten over the years? And the phone I have isn't even fancy or expensive. It's just a plain ZTE android. When I was in New York City last month and visited Hudson Yards and the Vessel, I took ALL photos with my phone and NOT my camera. Sometimes is just so much easier to use my phone, you know?

Can' wait to see your Spring photos! Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a faaaaaaaabuous weekend!

  13. Ron, these photographs are AMAZING! The clarity you captured in each one of these is remarkable! And it's even more impressive that you took them in manual mode because I never use it on my own camera. Its just so much easier to take my pictures in auto. But you've inspired me to start practicing.

Love them all, but the final one with the ants is so good!

  14. Ron, you never cease to inspire me with your ability with a camera. I remember years ago when you first gave me inspiration to purchase my first digital camera. It isn't just your ability to take great pictures, it's also your outstanding eye for seeing things the way you do. Your pictures are always so interesting to look at. Your composition is so freaking good!

    Have a great week, dude!

  15. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, Candice :)

The whole point of me getting a Canon several years ago was because I wanted to upgrade to a more professional camera and start learning how to use it on manual mode. Auto mode is great, but I wanted to test myself to use the shutter speed and aperture manually. And also how to focus the lens manually.

    Aren't the ants so cute?

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a fantastic weekend!

You captured the glorious colours of spring!

  17. Thank you, Matt :) OMG, yes, I do remember when you first asked me about purchasing a digital camera and I think I suggest a Nikon. It was my first digital (point and shoot) camera and loved it. I think I may still even have that camera in a box in my closet somewhere.

I love taking pictures. Even as a kid, I was fascinated with looking at photography books.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Have a fantabulous weekend!

Isn't spring faaaaaaaaaaabulous? Full of color and sunlight. I'm so glad I had the chance to get outside and snap some photographs before it was all gone because spring comes and goes so quickly.

Have a grrrrreat weekend, my friend. And thanks so much for stopping by!

  19. Ron, autumn is my favorite season as well, but my second fave is spring. Like you said, it's such a magical season of color and sunshine. These photos are just gorgeous! I know what you mean about living back east from South Florida because I miss not only the seasons, but also the flowers, trees and colors of the north. Florida is beautiful too, but the North has more diversity.

That picture of the purple pansies is stunning!

Have a wonderful weekend, Ron xo

  20. Hola Denise!

    Thank you :)

Yes, you're right...Florida is beautiful too, but there is something about the North East that has more diversity. I also like the hills and mountains, whereas, Florida is very flat.

Those cute little pansies look like they're smiling, don't they?

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl. Have a wonderful weekend too!

  21. Oh my, gorgeous photographs, Ron! You have such a talented eye for photography. Did you go to school for photography or are you self-taught? I think some people just have a natural talent for certain things, and you seem to have that with a camera.

Love the final shot of with the ants. Stellar!

Have a great weekend, neighbor! xo

  22. Thank you, Elaine :) No, I never went to school for photography, I just have always been attracted to photography, cameras and taking pictures. Even as a kid, when my mother bought me my first camera (an instamatic), I fell in love with photography. I'm self-taught. I learn best by actually doing it and learning as I go along.

I got lucky with that last shot because I didn't really see the ants until AFTER I took the shot and downloaded it to my computer.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a terrific weekend!

  23. Hibiscus, orchids and iris....oh my! These are lovely captures of the season. I've only had four iris blooms so far. I hope the others are just a bit tardy. I don't have any daylilies yet, and my Asian lilies are very bud-heavy already! I'm not a fan of ants, but they do add interest and scale to the peony bud in the last shot. Well done! Love all of them.

  24. Thank you, Lisa! :) I was felt so blessed that I will able to get outside with my camera, right at the peak of all the bright-colored blooms.

HA! I didn't even see the ants on the peony bud until I uploaded my photos to my desktop computer. One night last week, I passed by the garden where those peonies where and they were in FULL bloom. They looked lovely.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Have a great week!

  26. Aw, thanks, Rob! I was very lucky to capture the color of Spring before it was gone because it's a season that is very brief.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a faaaaaabulous weekend!
