My inspiration for this post came from my dear, longtime blogging friend, Debbie @ Musings by an ND Domer's Mom, who is not only a gifted...
I was so grateful that over the weekend we got a much deserved break from the horrendous heat and humidity we've had throughout this summer.
Up until now, I haven't once used this blog to complain about how heinous this summer has been, so please allow me to use part of this post to share some whine and cheese.
I realize that most of you LOVE summer and LOVE frolicking outside in the glorious heat, the glorious humidity, and the glorious never-ending sunshine. Contrary to me, who hibernates indoors most of the summer because summer feels as if I'm trapped in a really bad 1970's slasher HORROR film. Just like the cold of winter feels painful to your body, the heat and humidity of summer does the same thing to my body. It feels like a torture chamber. And yet, I deal with it for three months and try not to bitch and moan because I know that 99.9% of the world LOVES...LOVES...LOVES summer.

However just know, you summer-loving people, that once late-fall and winter kicks in our roles will be reversed. You'll be inside hibernating, while I'll be outside on those frigid 10 degree days; frolicking in my winter attire. I'll be making snow angels by day, and taking long after-dinner walks by night.
I'll be spinning for joy because when it gets really cold, my body feels euphoric!
Like the Snow Miser...
Okay, that was the bitch and moan part of this post. Thank you for hearing me out.
Now, on to the second part of this post.
Flowers!
Last Saturday, I took my camera over to the art museum area and snapped pictures of the gorgeous flowers that are still in bloom. And oh my god the day was perfect because it was cool and partially cloudy. It was the first day this month that I didn't sweat like a human pig.
All of these photographs were taken using a manual focus. Ever since weaning myself off auto focus, I barely use it anymore. I find that manually using my camera is much more challenging and rewarding.
Please enjoy one of the few things I do enjoy about summer.
Flower Power...
I am concluding this post with a pop quiz, much like the Catholic school nuns used to do to their students in order to put the fear of God in them.
Awww...isn't she a sweet little beastly thing?
Thesedevilish angelic-looking nuns would get such joy in throwing a POP quiz on us as a means of repentance for all our dastardly mortal sins. And if we didn't score at least a 90 on the quiz, we were destined to go straight to hell without any dinner and tapioca pudding.
Each of you must tell me in your comment which one are you. Are you the Snow Miser or are you the Heat Miser?
And you cannot answer by saying that you're a little bit of both, you have to choose one or the other.
