Post updates by email:

Greetings, folks! I'll be sharing about the new job in a future post. However, today I would like to share a post about something that touched me profoundly and reminded me that for all the mayhem going on in this country, there is a whole lot of good too.

I haven't watched the news or read anything online concerning the political landscape of this county in over a month. And can I just tell you how much better I feel? Several months ago I was beginning to feel sick - physically, mentally and emotionally because everything I saw on the news was dark, dismal and strategically manipulative. I realized that watching the news had nothing to do with keeping me informed. On the contrary, its only purpose was to distract me from my own thoughts and beliefs. News no longer reports the news, it's more interested in programing the public. In fact, that's why they call it a news program.

So I decided to do the only thing I had the power to do. And that was to regain my own perspective by disassociating myself from all the media so that I could begin to restore my vision of what I've always believed. And that is that the majority of human beings are innately good. But I had forgotten that because of what has been so bombastically broadcasted for the past 2 1/2 years.

Pollution.

And I also realized that all that pollution was not coming from only one party, it was coming from both. You see, that's one of the perks about being Independent. You view both parties clearly because you're not married to one or the other; therefore you see them for what they are.

In pulling away from the pollution, not only have I had more positive interactions with people in my day to day life, but I've also been discovering so many inspiring life-stories that people have shared about the heartwarming experiences they've had with other humans. For the past month I have felt lighter, brighter, and overall healthier inside and out because I am focusing my attention on the good in this world. I actually feel as though my heart has opened wider. I feel more "related" to humankind because I see the things that we, as humans, can all relate to.

I feel both the joy and the pain that we as humans all experience, which has caused me to feel more compassionate and part of the whole.

Last week I spotted a YouTube video that literally jumped out at me. It may have been the title of the video or the photograph, or both. All I know is that I immediately clicked on the 14-minute video and was completely invested until the end. I was so moved by how these two people took a situation that had to have been extremely difficult for them to accept, yet they embraced it. And not only embraced it, but searched for all the "goodness" that surrounded their situation, and found it.

The title read:

The Separation of Conjoined Twins Lily and Addy Altobelli

An inspiring story of conjoined twins, Addison (Addy) and Lilianna (Lily) Altobelli, who were successfully separated by surgeons at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The girls were born connected at the abdomen and chest, a condition known as thoraco-omphalopagus twins, meaning they shared a liver, diaphragm, chest and abdominal wall.

Before the surgery:

When an ultrasound early in the second trimester showed they were expecting conjoined twins, Dom and Maggie Altobelli began evaluating hospitals, willing to travel as far as necessary from their home in Chicago for care. After they met Holly Hedrick, MD, and the team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, their decision was made.

Holly Hedrick, MD -

On October 13, 2021, after months of preparation, Addy and Lily underwent a 10-hour surgery and were officially separated at 2:38 p.m. The surgical team, led by Holly Hedrick, MD, included more than two dozen specialists, including general surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists, a cardiothoracic surgeon, and plastic surgeons.

After the surgery:

Back in Chicago with the twins:

At the end of the video, Dom Altobelli, said this:

"There is so much good in the world. And that's something with this experience that I know Maggie and I are really thankful for. We got to see the best in the world, and the good in the world, because anybody who reached out to us came to us with genuine love and concern for the girls and for us. And that, I think, is the most amazing part of this whole experience. No matter what is happening in the world, there is a whole lot of good every single hour of every single day."

---------------

I leave you with the video. And my suggestion is that you watch it when you have time to actually sit down for 14 minutes and take it all in. Trust me, you will be touched on such a deep level because you will see that, yes, there is a whole lot of good every single hour of every single day.

And you will also see what the media will never tell you.

That we have more things in common than we do uncommon. And that our natural instinct is to reach out, support others, and be kind.

So look around you.

And see the truth

  1. You say that being independent on a political stance opens your eyes to a whole different perspective...I agree. But, I am of one single party; registered, and still watch, learn, and research both views. If those that vote for party only, I pity them. Now, on with the story you share...it's at the best heart warming. I have experienced this life-giving situation with my grandson at the age of 5 months...he had open heart surgery!! The team of experts gave us comfort thru-out. Supported us, educated us, etc. The whole of the hospital staff was there with us all the way. And we were NOT the only family...it happens 24-7, all over the world!! Even if there is not a success story behind it all, people in general are good and loving.
One more thing...news is all in it for the money. Fear sells commercial time and blinds those that believe the farce.

  2. Ron, first I have to say, welcome back! I missed your voice. And second, this post went right to my heart and made me weep. Everything you said is so true. And I think I'm going to do what you did, and stop watching the news because it's all so draining and dark.

I cannot wait to watch the video tonight after dinner. Looking forward to it.

The photos of the couple and their two little girls are so precious. I can't imagine going through this because I'm sure they were so scared, not knowing how the surgery would go. But I am so happy for them.

Thanks so much for sharing this, Ron. We all need to uplifted right now. I'll stop back later after I watch the video. xo

That's AWESOME, Anni! But most people (particularly now), are either one or the other and can not see (or learn) from both. It's either/or in extremes. So applaud you for bein so open.

WOW...that's an incredible story! Isn't it amazing how the support you get from the hospital staff makes such difference in how you go through the experience? We have so many incredible medical facilities here in Philly, so I feel really blessed. And I agree, people in general are good and loving.

    A-MEN!

Much thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and story, Anni! Have a fantastic weekend!

  4. Morning, Candice!

Thank you, it feels good to BE back!

I realized several months ago that I needed to pull away from all the pollution being delivered through the news because it was truly beginning to affect me. And honestly, in doing so, I feel so much better.

And yes, watch the video when you have the time to sit down and take it all in because it's very powerful.

"The photos of the couple and their two little girls are so precious. I can't imagine going through this because I'm sure they were so scared, not knowing how the surgery would go. But I am so happy for them."

Aren't they precious? Me neither, I can't imagine going through this because of the fear factor and the unknown of how the surgery would go. But I am beyond happy that it was so successful. And you will see in video all the beautiful emotion post-op. It's so moving.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Candice! Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

  5. Wow! Such a powerful testament to love! It’s both heart breaking to watch, yet so inspirational. I always think about the years of schooling, training, and experience that an interdisciplinary team like that brings to the table.Wow! Just wow! It looks like the couple’s neighbors tied pink ribbons to the trees at the end of the video. I’m sure they received so much support and love from the community as well.

We experienced a tiny fraction of this after Middle Child was born. She had a heart defect as well as needing eye muscle surgery at 5 months. There is something unique about being shown love and care from strangers when you are your most vulnerable. There’s a phenomenon of feeling a crush on your surgeon or doctor after going through medical experiences. It’s temporary, but I remember that feeling after giving birth for the first time with my OB. Strange, right?

And holy cow, what a positive attitude that couple had throughout it all!!! Amazing and inspiring! Faith and hope is really all that we have in the end. Thanks for such a heart warming start to the weekend. XO

P.S. Proud Independent here, too! I’m so tired of the hate from both sides.

  6. "Such a powerful testament to love! It’s both heart breaking to watch, yet so inspirational."

Yes, such an incredibly powerful testament to LOVE! I agree, it's both heartbreaking AND inspirational to watch. I cried through the whole video.

Can you imagine the all the years of training and experience it takes to do such a operation? It's mind-blowing to me that they can even do a procedure such as this.

"It looks like the couple’s neighbors tied pink ribbons to the trees at the end of the video. I’m sure they received so much support and love from the community as well."

OMG....didn't you just LOVE that? And bravo to you for noticing those ribbons. Wasn't that such a sweet gesture?

Wow, I had no idea about what you experiences with the Middle Child. And you are sooooooooo right, there is something so unique and touching about receiving love and care from strangers when you are most vulnerable. I remember when I went into the hospital for two weeks in 2015 and had such amazing support and love from the hospital staff. It made such a difference in how I moved through it.

"There’s a phenomenon of feeling a crush on your surgeon or doctor after going through medical experiences. It’s temporary, but I remember that feeling after giving birth for the first time with my OB. Strange, right?"

You know, I never even thought about that, but you are so right.

Isn't the couple amazing and inspiring? Whenever they spoke, you could see the tremendous faith and hope they had through their eyes. I can't tell you how MUCH this video (and their story) touched me on so many levels. And I am so glad I found that video.

Much thanks for stopping by and sharing, my friend. Have a beautiful weekend!

  7. Oh Ron, I was very happy to see your blog post on my reader today when I got to work. I read it IMMEDIATELY! I haven't watch the video though, but I will on my lunch break. What an inspiring story about accepting what's in front of you, however difficult it may be, and then changing your perspective. What a beautiful couple. And what darling little twins! I love the ribbons in their hair.

I had heard of CHOP from someone I knew when I was still living in New York because they had a newborn relative that was taken there for surgery, which was successful. So I know it has a VERY good reputation.

And you're right, so much pollution that has been delivered by the news for the past two and half years and I'm over it as well. That's why hearing about stories such as this goes to prove that it's not all negative, there is a lot of love and goodness in the world too.

I so look forward to watching the video this afternoon, Ron. And thank you for sharing something that is greatly needed right now. I'm going to pass this on to friend and some of my coworkers.

    Have a wonderful weekend! xo

  8. "News no longer reports the news, it's more interested in programing the public. In fact, that's why they call it a news program." - loved that, Ron, because it's so true! I still tune into the news, but not nearly as much as I used to. It's actually kind of boring because all the news stations just kept repeating the same things over and over. No matter who you tune into, it's all the same garbage.

I am so looking forward to watching this video tonight. Damn, just from your post and reading about what Dom and Maggie went through, I was very moved. I've always been someone who admires people who go through adversity and move through it with such grace. What an inspiration they are.

Holly Hedrick and her team are also an inspiration. Not only because of their skills, but their sensitivity to what their patients are having to deal with. They are true healers!

Thank you for sharing this, Ron. And good to see you back!

  9. Ron, I'm not Independent, but I agree with you 100%. Both parties are spewing the pollution and blaming each other for the same things. Over it!

But on a much brighter note, this post went straight to my heart. I have a cousin who is an surgery nurse and am so impressed by what she does. She's told me about some of the surgeries she was part of and I don't know how she does it. By the way, I am going to past this post on to her because she would really enjoy it. She may already know about CHOP, but she'll find this story very inspiring, I know it.

I'll be sure to watch the video sometime this weekend when I have time to take it all in. And I have a feeling I'm going to need a box of tissues. LOL!

    Welcome back, Ron!

  10. Hola Denise!

Aw, thanks, girl. It's good to be back posting again.

I think (know) you're going to really be touched by the video because it's so inspiring in so many ways. And particularly now, with all the mayhem going on in this country, it's so refreshing to witness the good. I watched the video like EIGHT times already!

Aren't the twins precious? And the couple too. There are moments in the video where he tears up talking about the twins, which made ME tear up.

"I had heard of CHOP from someone I knew when I was still living in New York because they had a newborn relative that was taken there for surgery, which was successful. So I know it has a VERY good reputation."

WOW....very COOL! And yes, CHOP has such an amazing reputation. It's located near U of Penn. They have so many medical schools up there. Dental as well.

I desperately needed a break from the news because it was really starting to have such negative effect on me - physically, mentally and emotionally. I feel a MILLION times better that I haven't watched it in over a month.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Friday to you and have a faaaaaabulous weekend!

  11. Hellooooooo there, Daniel!

"It's actually kind of boring because all the news stations just kept repeating the same things over and over. No matter who you tune into, it's all the same garbage."

YES! No matter what new program you watch, it's the same regurgitated trash. That's why I stopped. And none of it is true, so why bother?

"I've always been someone who admires people who go through adversity and move through it with such grace. What an inspiration they are."

Me too! Because those are the people who I learn from. We can't always have things go smoothly in life, so to hear about stories such as this one teaching me about acceptance and grace. So inspirational.

And I freaking LOVE what you said here..."Holly Hedrick and her team are also an inspiration. Not only because of their skills, but their sensitivity to what their patients are having to deal with. They are true healers!"....so TRUE! They are the true healers. And I so admire them.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Daniel. Great to see your comments. Have a wonderful rest of your day and weekend.

  12. Hey there, Clair!

Yes, it's the "blame thing" that kills me because they are blaming each other for the same blame. LOL! I'm over it too. I've been over it for years.

Isn't this story such a bright spot? OMG...I've watched the video like EIGHT times because it just warms my heart.

" I have a cousin who is an surgery nurse and am so impressed by what she does. She's told me about some of the surgeries she was part of and I don't know how she does it. By the way, I am going to past this post on to her because she would really enjoy it. She may already know about CHOP, but she'll find this story very inspiring, I know it."

WOW....that's FABULOUS! When I was in the hospital for two weeks, back in 2015, the nurses I had were all so incredible to me. In fact, they were so responsible for my healing because of how compassionate and kind they were to me, during a very rough time in my life. It was scary, but they all gave me confidence that I was going to be okay.

HA! Yes....have a box of tissues handy because you will weep. I've watched this video eight times and every single time, I cried.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, Clair. Hope all is well with you and that you have a terrific weekend!

  13. Ron, I'm delighted to have you back -- you've been missed! And what a great, uplifting post to return to. So much GOOD came out of what might at first have been thought of as a challenging situation -- how splendid that this couple can each hold one of their twins. Can you fathom the difficulty of diapering a conjoined set of twins??

I agree with you about the news. As a former journalist, I find it distressing that the entire profession has become so money-grubbing that they keep people on tenterhooks, feeling like the sky is falling at any minute. No wonder people are stressed out, angry, and confused. We don't know who or what to believe anymore. Glad I got out of the business when I did.

I'm eager to hear your impressions of your new job, but I'll wait until you're ready to write about them. In the meantime, enjoy the upcoming weekend! xx

    ReplyDelete
  14. FIRST... CONGRATS on the new job! As you know, I've been away again for a bit and need to catch up on all that, so I'll read back for clues, and also look forward to hearing much more in the future about your new situation! I'm sure it's interesting!
    Politics... *sigh*
Totally understand how you feel about some of it, as am not tuning in to local/national news daily (for politics or any other specific topic)...just tend to prefer reading about whatever I can handle on any given day. LOL As for the parties, in agreement that both of the two major ones contribute to disinformation and distraction... however, I still do definitely prefer one to the other. I tend to think most Independents do too, because the parties have some fundamental differences. One might like the idea of not saying they mostly support the R or D, but probably do, IMO. I might not care for particular candidates in my chosen party and may disagree with some decisions made on certain issues (as government/people will never be perfect) and I have NOT voted for certain candidates... but will never vote for the 'opposite' party because the core beliefs, seem too different to me. If I have to disassociate myself with politics at some point, it would most likely be an all out as there is one party I'd never vote for and others which mostly likely won't ever be viable enough to matter.

That story was very heartwarming!!! Having a child born with a birth defect (one of the more manageable ones anyway) I do remember how wonderful the team we had for my son was. We saw them every year until he was 18. Sometimes because a surgery was needed, but most of the time just to provide him/us with basic care, evaluate how he was progressing, address any potential issues, etc. Can't imagine going through it without all of that medical care/support!
Certainly there is much GOOD in this world! And when life get very difficult we can all benefit by trying to concentrate more on the positive, and whenever necessary...searching for things to uplift us!!

Thanks for sharing your views, and this lovely story of that sweet family!

    Have a wonderful weekend, Ron!!

  15. Hey there, Debbie! Thank you, my friend, I'm delighted to BE back. I can't believe two weeks past by so fast!

"So much GOOD came out of what might at first have been thought of as a challenging situation -- how splendid that this couple can each hold one of their twins. Can you fathom the difficulty of diapering a conjoined set of twins??"

You are so right about that. And that's why I so admire the couple because they took that challenge and discovered the good. And I never thought of that but you're right, can you imagine diapering a conjoined set of twins?!?!

" As a former journalist, I find it distressing that the entire profession has become so money-grubbing that they keep people on tenterhooks, feeling like the sky is falling at any minute. No wonder people are stressed out, angry, and confused. We don't know who or what to believe anymore. Glad I got out of the business when I did"

LOVED what you shared there because as a journalist, you KNOW exact how the profession as turned from what is was, to what it has become. And it's true, they keep people on tenterhooks, feeling like the sky is falling any minute. About a month ago, you could actually feel all the tension coming from the people who lived here, just walking past them on the streets. Everyone was so stressed out.

I will be posting about the new job either the next post or the one after that.

Much thanks for stopping by, dear friend. Have a fantastic weekend!

  16. Hellooooooo there, Mary! And thank you. I will be posting about the new job either in the next post or the one after that.

And no worries, my friend. I know you've been dealing with a lot right now, so I totally understand your being away.

I had to totally stop watching the news because it was making me feel ill - body, mind and spirit. And in doing so, I feel 100% better.

Very interesting to read about your thoughts on Independents. And that may very well be the case for many of Independents. However for me, personally, I have always voted for the candidate and the issues. As far as the parties go, I have no definite preference because (as far as I can see) there are no longer core beliefs in either party. They may say they do, but their actions are not in line with what they say. They are all over the place. And particularly in these past several elections.

Isn't this story so heartwarming? The second I saw the title and the photo, I immediately felt drawn to watch the video. It touched me on so many levels.

" I do remember how wonderful the team we had for my son was. We saw them every year until he was 18. Sometimes because a surgery was needed, but most of the time just to provide him/us with basic care, evaluate how he was progressing, address any potential issues, etc. Can't imagine going through it without all of that medical care/support!"

That's right, I forgot about your son. So I'm sure you could so identify with what this couple went through. Aren't we luck though to be so close to so many wonderful hospitals in Philly? I always tell people that if you're going to get sick, get sick in Philadelphia because the facilities here have such a great reputation for doing amazing work.

"Certainly there is much GOOD in this world! And when life get very difficult we can all benefit by trying to concentrate more on the positive, and whenever necessary...searching for things to uplift us!!"

    Agree 100%!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your views too. Appreciate it! Have a glorious weekend, neighbor!

  17. Ron, you and I are on the same page as far as not reading or watching what passes for news these days. I never watch broadcast news and barely read events online because it is so much doom and gloom.

Instead, I look for what’s often termed the “good news” stories and interestingly enough most days you really have to look harder for those stories.

Thanks for the story of the Addy and Lily and their parents, which was the best good news and it happened in Philly too😀

  18. I'm so glad to see a post from you Ron and this beautiful post brought tears to my eyes. I still always believe there is so much good and I see it often. I quit watching the news months ago too and I'm so glad I did. I had given up watching news probably 25 years ago, but I turned it on when the pandemic came along and watched it day and night for a solid 18 months, it was horrible. I will watch the video this evening and plan to have my tissues ready. I can't wait to hear more about the new job too. Have a fantabulous weekend my friend!

  19. Hi there, D!

Yes, I had a feeling that you and I were on the same page when it came to the news. And what you said is so true, whether on the news or online articles, they are all doom and gloom. And what kills me is that they don't even try to make the American people feel hopeful about anything, they just keep force feeding the public more fuel to make the fire larger.

"Instead, I look for what’s often termed the “good news” stories and interestingly enough most days you really have to look harder for those stories."

GOOD for you!!! And yes, you have to look harder these days, I agree. That's why I was so happy when I fell upon this story because it was so inspiring and uplifting about human beings.

I know, and the best good news is that it happened in Philly! We truly have some of the best medical facilities in the country. And what's really great about the hospitals is that many of them are "teaching hospitals", such as Jefferson.

Much thanks for stopping by, D! Wishing you an awesome weekend!

I know, I did the same thing. When the pandemic hit, I started watching the news again because of the lockdown. But again, it was all doom and gloom. And totally confusing because they kept contradicting themselves.

I will be posting about the new job in the next post or two.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Wishing you a fantabulous weekend too!

  21. Ron, hubby and I both read this post this morning but didn't have time to watch the video until tonight after dinner, so I waited to stop by to comment. I bawled my eyes out several times during the video (and so did hubby) LOL! I know it was only 14 minutes long, but it was packed with so many things about the journey they had that it felt like I was watching a short movie. I would love to know more about how they (and the twins) are now doing. I hope they do an update. The guy (Dom) was so sweet and sensitive that I ended up crying anytime he spoke because it was a combination of how inspiring he was and feeling so sorry that they had to go through this. But as you said, they embraced it and found the GOODNESS!

I can't thank you enough for sharing this today because I too am so sick of all the negativity in the news. We don't watch it all the time, and we're thinking of taking a complete break like you. I agree with you about both sides doing the same thing. We're not registered as Independent, but seriously thinking of switching this year because they are both pathetic.

Anyway, enough about politics and the news. We need to focus on the GOOD and rise above the shit. LOL!

Have a great weekend, Ron. Can you believe that it might snow on Sunday, considering that tomorrow it may reach the high 60's? Crazy weather, hu? oxox

  22. Hey there, Elaine!

Aw, thanks so much for stopping back after you and your husband watched the video to let me know what you thought. OMG...me too...I bawled my eyes out MANY TIMES during the viewing. I've seen it at least 8 times already and I STILL cry!

"I know it was only 14 minutes long, but it was packed with so many things about the journey they had that it felt like I was watching a short movie."

You what? You are so right about that. It WAS like watching a short movie because it had a beginning, middle and ending, and it was a lot of information and emotion. Me too, I also hope they do any update. I tried to search online to see if I could google anything about how they are doing but found nothing. Maybe because it's only been since Christmas, hu? Perhaps in the spring or summer they will update the public. Yes, Dom was so sweet and sensitive. I cried so hard when he cried after the twins had been surgically separated and he saw them for the first time. OMG...it was so touching.

I know, can you believe that SNOW is in the forecast for Sunday? And today it was so warm and spring-like. I keep telling everyone that winter is not over yet. It's only February and people are acting like summer is tomorrow.

    Have a spectacular weekend, Elaine!

  23. Ron, I wanted to stop back to let you know that I watched the video last night (TWO TIMES) and loved it. Like you said, it was so inspiring to watch and listen to them process the news of having conjoined twins, embrace it, and then search for options. CHOP seems like such a special hospital. I'm going to check out the website link to read more about it.

Thanks again for sharing this story and this post.

  24. Candice, thanks so much for stopping back to let me know you watched the video. Isn't it wonderful? I've watched it 8 times already! My favorite part was after the surgery and they brought the twins back. The reactions from Dom and Maggie brought tears to my eyes.

    CHOP is amazing.

  25. Hey Ron, we watched the video this morning and we were as equally touched and inspired as you were. The parents of the twins had such an amazing attitude when they got the news about them being conjoined. It was like they heard the news, but were not going to take it as a negative. The love they felt for the girls is what touched me so much. I also thought it was so interesting to hear the surgeon explain about the procedure and what it entailed. I can't imagine standing there for TEN hours performing that operation. She and the rest of the medical team did such an amazing job.

I'm in agreement with you about the news and how biased it is, depending on what side the news station stands. They are the ones creating all the segregation. Like you said, it is so strategically manipulative. You're smart to remove yourself from it. We have too.

Great to see you back, dude! Hope the new job is going well.

  26. Good morning, Matt!

I know, wasn't there attitude and outlook amazing?!?! As Dom said, he is a total optimist so he didn't even think anything except that it would all work out for the best. Which it did.

"I also thought it was so interesting to hear the surgeon explain about the procedure and what it entailed. I can't imagine standing there for TEN hours performing that operation. She and the rest of the medical team did such an amazing job."

OMG, I thought the same thing! TEN hours!!! I'm sure they took breaks now and then and switched procedures, but still, TEN hours of that. Can you imagine the prep work for that operation? I so loved after the surgery when Holly went into the waiting room to give Dom and Maggie the good news.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Matt. Hope you and girlfriend are enjoying a faaaaaabulous weekend!

  27. Hey, Ron, great to have you back! Hope the new job is going great guns!

Thanks for the video and the incredibly uplifting message.

We are desperately in need of such heart-warming news in the face of the seemingly nonstop stream of misery coming at us from all directions.

I most certainly agree when you say the majority of human beings are innately good and it's important that we have people like you to remind us of the fact.

    Take care, buddy!

  28. Hey there, Rob!

Thanks so much for your kind words and for contributing to this topic.

"We are desperately in need of such heart-warming news in the face of the seemingly nonstop stream of misery coming at us from all directions."

You are absolutely right about that. And that's why I had to remove myself from the non-stop stream of misery and focus on positive things and the GOOD in this world. And when I spotted this video, I knew I wanted to share it because it ties in perfect with what I mean by looking for the good. This couple inspired me so much because if they could do it going through what they went thorough, then so can I. It's a matter of redirecting my attention.

Hope you're having a faaaaaabulous weekend, buddy! I can't believe how much warmer got these past few days. Seems like Spring is coming soon!

  29. Ron, I finally had time to sit down and watched the video today. I thought I would be watching last night when I got home from work, but something came up. I friend needed me to pick them up from the airport.

The video was just as you said, I was moved beyond what I thought I would. I watched it several times because I wanted to go back and see certain parts that I really enjoyed the first time. How inspirational they are. And I'm I awe of Dr. Holly, the medical staff, and CHOP. What an amazing place. As they shared in the video, the twins were always happy because everyone at the hospital has such a happy attitude everyday.

Thanks for this, Ron. Muchly needed at time like this in our country. As you said, looking around you. And see the truth about people. Not what we are being fed by the media. Pollution.

  30. Daniel, much thanks for popping back over to let me know your thoughts and feelings about the video. Wasn't it so moving? And I did the same thing, I went back and watched it EIGHT times because there were parts of it I wanted to see again. I know, Dr. Holly, the staff, and CHOP overall is such a special place. I want to take a walk up to University City which is where the hospital is located, just to see what it looks like from the outside. That whole area of Philly has a lot of medical schools and centers. They have a great dental school there too.

Hope you're having a faaaaantastic weekend, my friend!

  31. What an inspiring post! I've been MIA for a while (not by choice) so I'm far behind commenting on my bloggy friends' posts. I completely agree with your assessment of the political pollution that is so rampant. Our country is more divided now than ever. I hate listening to the "news" outlets because everyone is pushing a narrative. The story of conjoined twins show how awesome stories like this help restore faith in humanity. I try and see the good behind the bad and have to believe it's all happening for a reason. It's a gift to be able to look beyond the pollution and see the beauty of life.

  32. Hey there, Lisa!

Good to see you! Yes, haven't seen you in a while. Hope all is well.

Isn't this story such an inspiring one? And it came to me just at the right time because it was so uplifting rather than all the negativity the media has been putting out. I still haven't been watching any news whatsoever and I'm totally okay with that. Like you said, all the news outlets are pushing the same narrative.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend ahead!
