For the past 8 months, I’ve had the immense pleasure of getting to know a very talented and a hell of a nice human being, Greg.

Greg and I actually met via my other blog through another reader. Greg has a very warm and witty nature about him, which made me instantly like him.

The longer I got to know him, the more I got to witness the many talented gifts he possessed. Not only is he a brilliant writer, but he’s also an incredible artist and photographer.

(the image that you see here is one of his creations)

Greg and I also share a common love and appreciation for squirrels. In fact, he just recently published his first book, A Favor in Return, which is a delightful and magical squirrel tale that you can read more about when you visit his web page.

(and please DO - because you’ll have the time of your life running your cursor over the little pine cones, while watching the adorable squirrels jump around - it‘s too damn cute)

However, what I would like to share with you here, is his amazing artwork.

The first time I discovered his talent at Flickr…I could hardly believe my eyes. Within each detailed drawing, he was able to capture the entire “essence” of the animal. Each beautiful creature looked as though they were actually alive! I could see the life force deep within their eyes.

It was freaking amazing!

And the way he’s drawn some of them in action…you’ll swear that you see them moving.

I sat here looking at them with a smile on my face and a HUGE ball of warmth in my heart.

So, do yourself a big favor this weekend and go visit Greg’s wonderful world of art.

Because it will most definitely be…A Favor in Return!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful gifts, Greg!

Your very welcome...I know that the "artist" in you will REALLY be touched with his ability to create something so magical!

    It tickles me to death!

No, damn it...I missed seeing the moon...and I was up til 2AM too!!! The tenants (college children) in the apartment next to mine, were having a LOUD party, so I stayed up with them and colored!!!

    (and I used RED alot)

    Oh...and I LOVE the moon...especially when it's full.

(it makes me want MOON people)

    It sounded beautiful!

We're suppose to get some snow tomorrow and I so exceited. It's been FREEZING here (which I enjoy) but we've had virtually no snow this year, so far!

    Cross your fingers for me.

Thank you my dear friend for dropping by today...it's always a special treat!

Hey...one of your readers (Polar) stopped by yesterday and left me a nice comment!

  7. Oh now, ya know you had me at the word 'squirrels'!
What a cute site--and yep, I mad the little critters jump around over and over again.

Now I'm interested in squirrel speak cuz I had too much fun tryin' to figure it out.
I'm gonna see if I can eaves drop on Seemore and Seeless cuz I'm sure there's lots of talk about how to get to that peanut feeder. LOL (I'd like to hear the plans so I can circumvent 'em--LOL--like THAT'LL happen!)

Very talented fella--thanks for pointing us his way!

Here's hoping snow loses us and finds YOU.

  8. Oh my God, Mel...I was JUST thinking about you while I was leaving a comment on someone elses blog and....VIOLA! here you are!!!

I'm so glad that you visited Greg's site. I KNEW you'd have fun playing with the squirrels!!!! And didn't you LOVE the little "sounds" they make?

Sometimes if I'm bored...I just go over to his site and let them entertain me!

I asked him about the "squirrel lingo" and he explained to me how he actually created it (ingenious). I find that the more I go to his blog and read his new entries...I can understand the lingo more and more. If you allow your eyes to lightly skim the words...they just sort of become clearer to you.

He's had some recent posts that were so "touching"...that they actually made me teary-eyed. He's a gifted writer.

And YES!!!! Please send some of that snow to me. This winter has SUCKED! I haven't made ONE snow angel yet!

    (Maybe it's because I'm a DEVIL)

Give my love to Seemore and Seeless (I love those names). Aren't squirrels, sly little things??

Thanks for stopping by this evening, Mel...you always make me SMILE!

    Signed,
    No Snow

  11. Hi ron- Greg is very talented; and has unusual subject matter. I dont honestly recall ever seeing any artwork of squirrels (aside of a photo). I went to check out his book but the link was broken :( He already has a bunch of new fans now though!

  12. Evening Sibyllae!

It's so nice of you to drop by this weekend...GREAT to see ya!

I first heard about Greg through his blog and his writings. Then one day, I happen to clicked on his Flickr artwork link and saw that he was also an artist and photographer.

The thing about his work that is so unique, is the way he captures the "texture" of the animal (mainly being squirrels). And also something about the facial expressions and the eyes. He seems to capture the internal "essence." There's a "spiritual quality" that I LOVE!

Thank you so much for taking the time to go visit his work. SO glad you enjoyed!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, my friend!

    We'll talk soon!

  15. Heyo Ron!

Sakes... the coffee almost covered the screen when I saw this. You just made my day. Maybe the whole week! :)

If a friend had told me 10 years ago that I would be writing and illustrating a story about a family of talking squirrels, I probably would have laughed out loud. Now it's an ordinarly event to have an internal voice that speaks in squirrely.

Thanks so much for the mention and recommend... and thanks to all of you for the kind comments.

    Greg

  16. Hey Greg!

Oh...I was hoping you'd stop by for a read. I thought about just leaving you a comment on your blog Saturday and then I thought it would be cooler if you just FOUND it!

  17. No, I don't mind... it's a priviledge to be included in with the other great websites you've recommended.

(And the squirrels asked me to say how much they love cashews) ;)
