Post updates by email:

I know this post is a bit early, but I’m going to be insanely busy this week with my retail work schedule, therefore, I won’t be posting again until next Monday. However, I will be stopping by to visit everyone’s blogs throughout the week.

And even though I’m very grateful for the additional work hours, I know I’ll just be dying to SLAP THE CRAP out of half the customers by Saturday evening because they won’t be able to make up their friggin' minds about which cologne to get for their fathers or husbands….

…“Should I get him Aramis? Or should I get him Royal Copenhagen?”

And my answer will be, “Neither…because they both smell like a warm piece of horse SHIT!”

So pray for me my blog friends.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all you wonderful men out there who are fathers (which also includes fathers of pets) a Happy Father’s Day.

I found a poem on the Internet that I would like to share with you which is intended for a child to give to their father.

But it‘s so innocently adorable…I couldn’t resist.

So, I give you….

My Daddy Is The Greatest

My daddy is the greatest;
The best dad there ever was.
He always brings me lots of joy;
He’s my very own Santa Claus.

My daddy can do anything;
He’s smart as smart can be.
I love to walk and hold his hand
To show he belongs to me.

I love my daddy!

By Karl Fuchs

Happy Father's Day Everyone!

Wishing you love on this very special day.

Note: I also found a Father's Day story that was written by a man, who through caring for his special needs son was taught about the meaning of love. If you have some time this week, please stop by and read it. It will really touch your heart. Learning From Love

Note 2: If you enjoy watching movies, please click on the movie recommendation title on my sidebar to read the synopsis. I just recently viewed this film and it was an incredible 90 minute journey.

  1. Good luck, buddy. On my end... the men's half-yearly will soon start and bring with it the end of the women's half-yearly. At last, a respite.

p.s. please keep your customers away from the Aramis. Make the world a better place.

Don't work to hard and just remember...if ya don't slap anyone maybe Evita might have a gift waiting for you all bound up in a tightly wrapped corset. Aloha my friend :) I read that learning for love earlier today. Great minds...no. It's wonderful and makes you proud that there are some fathers out there that do care. Aloha my friend. Don't bitch slap anyone I wouldn't slap ?

  5. Lovely picture. :)

Well, I hope you have a good week!!! I don't have to fight the crazy shoppers for cologne or anything else this week for Father's Day gifts. We actually went out this past weekend and got our presents. For both of hubby's fathers (the one who adopted him and the husband of his birth mom), we got DVD's and candy. For our *almost* son-in-law, a box of chocolate covered oreos (as if that is going to last all week without me ripping it open and then having to go back to the store and get more! LOL) and my hubby really doesn't like gifts so much for himself but he did say that I could get him a bottle of good tequila. On an excursion in Mexico he did a couple shots and now has a bit of a taste for it. LOL Hey, I don't mind getting him all liquored up and taking advantage of him .... he'd like that gift much more than smelly cologne. LOL

Hope you don't have to throttle too many nasty shoppers this holiday.

  6. You know, Ron, it might be helpful for your indecisive customers if you pre-labeled each bottle with an index card recommendation. For instance, "horse shit (warm)," when placed next to Royal Copenhagen, would ensure that only those people intending to smell like an equestrian track would request it.

  7. That's a lovely little poem Ron and I followed your link to the story of Zok and Ryan - it warmed my heart. It takes a great deal of courage and hard work to look after a disabled child - my DIL did it with my first two grandchildren until they died aged 5 and 3. She and my son had split up but she looked after the children, she never gave up on them and I will always love her for it.

This is a personal question Ron, please feel free to tell me to mind my own business if you like but did you ever feel you wanted children?

    OMG...you SLAY me too!

Your Evita mentioned made me HOWL!!

    That was brilliant!

Hey listen...DIAL SOAP smells 100% better than both the two colognes I mentioned. I actually love the smell of dial soap.

OMG, I can't believe you read Learning from Love eariler today!!! Yes...great minds! How cool, Thom! And like you, it made me so proud that there are some fathers out there who really care. The article actually made me cry.

    Thanks for stopping by, bud!

    ALWAYS such a pleasure.

I'll be stopping by your place later this evening to catch up with ya!

    Enjoy your week!

  11. Bonjour Leesa!

It's funny, being in retail I'm always forced to be reminded of the holidays three months before they are.

We're already starting to get ready for the Christmas season.

    LOVE that commercialism, don't you?

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

    Thanks for stopping by, Leesa!

    Have a vunderbar week!

  12. Helloooo Crystal Chick!

I think by Friday, I should be ready for a bottle of Tequila and a box of chocolate covered oreos myself!!!

OMG...it's the last minute indecisive shoppers that make me insane! And they ALL want additional GIFTS with a purchase!

    Hey, what a great idea...

...get him all liquored up and take advantage of him!!!

    You GO, girl!!

    Thanks for dropping by, M!

Hasn't this nice cool June weather been a DREAM?

    Enjoy your week!

  13. bwhahahahahahah...MVD....once again you KILL ME!!!

    EXCELLENT idea, bud!

I'm terrible, because I can neve lie to a customer when they ask me if I like or dislike a cologne. I try to be tactful when I answer them, but they can ALWAYS tell from my body language if I HATE it.

My nose crinkles, my mouth frowns, and then I stick out my tongue and hissssss!

    HA!

    Always great seeing ya, bud!

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Sincerely,
    Signore Royal Copenhagen

  14. Hi Akelamalu!

I'm so glad you followed the link to the story I shared.

Wasn't it such a touching and encouraging journey? I found it by complete divine intervention, because I truly think I was meant to read it.

That's right, I remember you sharing on one of your blog posts about your grandchildren a year ago or so. I know raising disabled children cannot be easy, but what I always hear from the parents, is that the children end up showing them so much about LOVE. I've always felt that people with disablities are on this planet to teach US.

No, not at all...your question about having children was not too personal. Yes, I have often thought I wanted children. I LOVE them. For some reason I have a very deep connection to children. However, I don't know if I have what it takes to actually raise them. I can be very self-centered and selfish with my life. And having a child would alter that. However, what I would like to do is work with special needs children sharing Reiki and Reflexology with them. And not only because of what I would be able to offer them, but also what they would teach me.

Thank you for your question, dear lady.

    X

    It made me think.

    Have a wonderful week!!

  15. A few cologne ideas with an equestrian flare:

For the down home country types

    "Road Apple Pie"

    For that special man

    "Charlie Horse"

    For the S&M indulger

    "Spurs and Whips #5"

"C-Horse" It remains fragrant even after a dip in the hot tub.

"Hung like a Hugo Boss" it carries a special pheromone blend in the bottle.

"Mr Edstee Lauder" It's not just for women anymore.

"Musk Ox" For those who don't want to horse around.

Have a great week in spite of all the last minute shoppers!!!

hey, I'll be back to read that lil story. Right now I just wanted to tell you...you rock and if you feel the need to slap anyone on the back of the head...go right ahead.

    They deserve it. :)

    ciao sweetie.

  18. Helloooo Linda!

So glad you enjoyed the poem!

    Isn't it sweet?

Hey, if you have the chance to watch the film, I just know you'll LOVE it! One of the guys in the film (Don) is an artist and they show A LOT of his art work throughout the film. The film blew me away, because I knew nothing about their relationship. It truly is a film about LOVE.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by, dear one!

I'll be dropping by your blog throughout the week, so don't worry, I'll be around.

    Love ya!

    XOXOXOXO

  19. Jeff....YOU ARE BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

    applause, applause, applause!

Ok..."Spurs and Whips #5"...just about killed me because I use to work for Chanel and that's a great alternative name. I think Coco would have approved!

And, "Hung like a Hugo Boss" well, it says it ALL!!!

Hugo Boss is one of our big sellers, but I think if it had your tag name it would sell even more.

Thanks for adding your clever wit to this post, bud! I'm going to write these down and share them at work this week. They'll get a great kick of them!

Wishing you a Happy Father's Day!

    You're a SUPER DOOPER dad!

    Later gator!!!!!!

Yes, stop back whenever you feel like. I think you would really enjoy the story - VERY touching and moving!

    It made me cry.

    (but in a good way)

And if you ever get the chance and feel like it, please rent the film. It's a true story that will MOVE YOU beyond words! And a lot of it takes place in Hollywood!

Thanks dear friend - today wasn't TOO bad at work, but by Wednesday I'm sure the SHIT will hit the fan.

    SLAP!

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Have a great week!

I'll talk to ya through the week!

  23. Ron,
Thank you so much. Being a dad I really appreciate being appreciated. I too think that Royal Copenhagen and Aramis are not the best scent to put on one's body. I prefer Paul Sebastian or Polo. There times in my youth when Hi Krate and English Leather were the ones that would impress. But there are times when I just want to smell the whaft of garlic and onions over a marina sauce. Or the great aroma of freshed baked bread. Now we are talking

    Thanks again, my friend.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Howdy Dave!

You are SO welcome, my friend!

    HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

And it's funny you mentioned Polo, because it's STILL one of the top sellers in our store. I remember when I use to wear Paul Sebastian while I was living in Florida - it brings back a RUSH of wonderful memories everytime I smell it!

aaaaah...and but there is nothing like the smell of garlic and marinara sauce. And fresh baked bread?....the BEST!

    Bellissima!

    Thanks for stopping by Dave!

Have a wonderful week and a very special Father's Day!

    Cheers, buddy!

  28. Howdy Nitebyrd!

    YES!!!

Not only do they still make it...

...but there are also a TON of men who still WEAR it!!!!

I have such horrible memories whenever I sniff it!

aaaaah, yes...I just bought a new bottle of some faaabulous red wine, which I've been enjoying every single night!

    Cheers to me!

    Great seeing ya, Sis!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  32. Hey Ron,
Not trying to add another exotic fragerance to the list( after Jeff B's HILARIOUS fragerances)
An old salt is another name for a seaman. My Dad was career Navy & proud of it.

Maybe they should create this fragerance for sailing men :)

    Just FYI, honey.
    See ya Monday.
