Without actually telling you where I work or what company I work for, I would like to share about how much I love my job and how grateful I am for it.

As you already know I work in the beauty industry and have done so for the past 25 years.

On one hand, working with the public can sometimes be a pain in the sphincter, but on the other hand, it teaches me how not to be as a customer.

And to be perfectly honest, I enjoy having a job in which I closely interact with people.

I like meeting new folks everyday and finding out a little bit about them, other then what they are coming in to purchase.

The most important thing for me about my job is believing in what I sell and then offering it to the public with passion. I cannot sell anything I don’t believe in. I’ve had jobs in this industry that I’ve ended up quitting because I didn’t care for the product.

The company I presently work for is one of the best experiences I‘ve ever had. I’ve been with them for over 4 years now, and mainly because they genuinely care about their employees. And even though they are a major corporate company, they still manage to treat their people as if they were part of a family.

They offer incentive bonuses and health benefits to part-time employees. And they never forget to say thank you for a job well-done.

They’re a smart company. They don’t waste money, but at the same time they’re not afraid to spend money to produce the BEST products.

It’s a company I’m proud to represent.

One of the greatest perks about my job is that I’m given a certain amount of hours to work, but can arranged those hours anyway I feel best. I don’t have to go into work at a specific time everyday, as long as I put in my allotted hours.

My boss trusts me; knowing I will work during the most lucrative times to produce figures.

I have goals to achieve, but I am never harassed about making them like most people are in this industry.

I have an outstanding sales team that supports me; whom without, I couldn’t make it.

Another thing that’s really wonderful about my job, is that I work for a period of time and then have some time off. Slow season for the beauty industry is in July and January, so it is at some point during these two months that I take a break and focus on other things I enjoy doing to supplement my income.

It also gives me time away from the industry, so that I can recharge and stay fresh.

I feel incredibly blessed in having this job, and even more so with the economy the way it is and many people struggling.

I live paycheck to paycheck just like most of us do. And I am by no means a monetarily wealthily man.

Yet, I feel wealthy.

So yes, folks….I really love my job.

In fact, I love it almost as much as….

But not quite.

  1. Sometimes when you work retail you can work FOR some real flaky, psycho, high strung, managers and owners, etc.
Best example is psycho, the girlfriend of a store owner, who screamed at me in front of a customer because I counted the drawer differently than how she did it. She was a psycho BITCH.
It made me aware of how NEVER to be *IF* someday I ever own or manage a brick-and-mortar business.
I'm not even going to get into the real airheads and space cadet co-workers topic...the kind who also need to be spayed or neutered....

I'm glad I have a cool boss and I've been working for him for 8 years.

  2. I just fell off my chair in laughter. It's so good to learn how not to be as a customer. But the end of this..."girls just wanna have fun" LOL

  3. Wow, you are a very blessed man. Not only because of the economy but just in general to love what you do. AND to work for such a supportive company. Quite a rarity these days.

And since you love it ALMOST as much as your penis, there's always room for growth. :-)

  4. Hi Ronnie,

It sounds like you found a "plum job". And that's half the battle already loving your job like you do.It sounds like they really repect you guys.

Stick with them as long as you can ! I know they have a great element in the team .Working retail can be hell through the customers.I often what who I can either "loons" or " social dumwits" rant, snarl etc at the poor clerks or salepersons. I'm at a total loss for words.

As for the "tail end" of your post... if he could wear a Proud tee like that for work, & get some smiles out of the customers & your colleagues ! heeeeeeeeeee ! )

    XXXX to ya !

  5. Well Ron,
You are truly a fortunate man to have happened upon SOMETHING you can be passionate about. Your love for THIS has always been in your posts. Every time you write something about IT, we can feel the pride you emit. You have that uncanny ability to let your thoughts and your feelings about THIS, resound through the pages of the blog world. You keep THIS part of your life protected and covered as not to let others out there know exactly what IT, is all about. The mystique surround THIS is what makes it magical.
Oh, and you love your job too, WOW!

    I love my penis also.

  6. LOL Wasn't expecting that last little bit. Well, I didn't mean 'little' you know in that sense because of course I've never seen your penis. I'm sure it's fabulous though and I can understand why you would like it so much. Most men do. Like their penises I mean, not yours. Although if all men saw your penis I'm sure they would really love it. I mean, I do, and I haven't ever seen it.

Holy shit, I think I'm having a hot flash. A few minutes ago I was just sitting here sipping on a little decaf trying to decide whether to blog or do emails or play Tetris online and now I'm thinking about your penis. I mean of course...my husband's penis. Because it really is fabulous. And he loves that I love it and you would love it too, if you ever saw it. Hey, you've never seen it have you?? He does work in Philly. And you two could have run into each other in a men's room somewhere and checked each other's out or something.....

    I need a valium.

    LOL

I'm so freaking happy that you love your job!! So many people do not. Wherever you work, I'm sure that not only the company loves you, but your customers as well. And you know why that is don't you????
Because you have a terrific penis!!!

Have a great day neighbor. :)

  31. Oh yeah, forgot to mention at Payless I always check out the kids shoes. I'm small-footed AND frugal, and would have no shame in trying on and/or buying kid shoes for myself just to save money as long as it doesn't have stinkin' Wiley Vyrus on it, puffy glittery hearts and scribbles saying "boys" on them.

  32. Hi Debi!

That's the same way I am with clothes!

Because I'm small, I can sometimes wear shirts and even slacks in young boys sizes.

And you're right, it's unbelievable what you can SAVE!

  38. Hey Alpha!

I know, I've debating doing that, but I don't like a lot of "stuff" on my sidebars.

Besides, I think the way I've customized the size of my sidebars, it wouldn't fit properly.

    Oh, well...maybe someday.

Thanks for stopping by and also for your suggestion!
