Okay, here it comes folks…..another one of Ron’s star-crazed celebrity posts. For those of you who are not fans of either Sarah Jessica Parker or Sex and the City, you may at first find this post uneventful.
But I implore you to read on, because I guarantee that by the time you finish reading this, you’ll find it CRAZILY eventful.

As you guys and gals already know, I work within the beauty industry. Therefore, I often get to experience what’s called a “launch” of a new product or fragrance. And even though I’ve been doing this for 26 years, I still find it fun because there’s always a lot of anticipation and excitement going on.

Last week in one of the stores I work at, I had the immense pleasure to be a part of the launch of Sarah Jessica Parkers' latest fragrance, NYC. I love it! It‘s a fresh, clean, bright fragrance. And since Sarah Jessica Parker created it, I would love it even if it smelled like warm vinegar sprinkled over gorgonzola cheese.

As most of you also know, I LOVE Sarah Jessica Parker. So, when I was asked to help promote her new fragrance, I jumped at the chance.

Now, here’s the exciting part…. Do you see the dress she’s wearing in the photo at the top of this post?

Go ahead, take a good look at it. Well, that dress was designed by Oscar de la Renta, specifically for the ad campaign. And that dress WAS DISPLAYED IN THE STORE! Yes, the dress that Sarah Jessica Parker actually PUT ON HER SIZE ZERO BODY!

And the first thing I wanted to do was sniff the under arm area of the dress, to see if I could smell any residue from her deodorant. I kid you not. However, the person who was in charge of transporting the dress into the store, said that when she first took it out of the clothing bag, she could smell the aroma of dry cleaning fluid, therefore the dress would have no deodorant residue. DAMN IT! I was so hoping to discover that Sarah uses Secret, like me.

Now, here’s the REALLY exciting part…. I asked if I could sneak inside the store window and stand next to the dress, while someone took a picture. And guess what they said? YES!!!!!!!

So, I carefully got inside the window (with pedestrians watching me from the street) and had someone snap of few photos. Here’s my favorite……

And be honest. How many of you are thinking, “I wonder if Ron had the urge to put the dress ON?”

SHIT, YEAH!

Wishing you an Oscar de la Renta weekend everyone!
X

  1. Ha!!!

I loved your closing comment, because that is exactly what I was thinking. "I'll bet he asked if he could wear it?" Yep, I knew it.

I was also thinking I'd like to smell the dress too, but not the armpit area. Wink-Wink, Nudge-Nudge.

    Great pic buddy!

  4. Okay, I'm back!!

    1. LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the dress...

    2. The picture of her in it is GORGEOUS and SENSATIONAL.

    3. HOW could anyone NOT love SJP???

    4. SHIT!!!

    5. I want the dress!!!

    6. Oh heck, size 0 (that would never work for me)!

    7. I want the dress!!!

    8. Maybe I'll just settle for the fragrance, instead.

    9. What? You DIDN'T TRY ON the DRESS?!! (you don't wear size 0 either, then?)

    10. I LOVEEEEE the pic of YOU and THE DRESS!!

Thanks for sharing, dear Ron... Have a great weekend!

  5. Oh My God!! I am gushing with happiness for you. I love that you have that photo next to 'The One And ONLY' Sarah Jessica Parker's dress! I love her and I cant wait to see the new movie. Sex In The City has been one of my favorite series of all time!!

  6. OMG...OMG...you know Ron we are soul sisters on this topic. I love Sarah/Carrie more than life itself. I am running to get the fragrance. But the dress is to die for. I am sooooo jealous you got to stand next to it and sniff away. In about an hour the premier of the movie is starting but I am going to see it this weekend when my Katie comes home. I can't wait to confer with you about all the deets. I love it already from the commercials. Enjoy enjoy and we shall be in touch.

  7. hahahah, you and your SJP love affair. a zero sized dress? that would probably look like a tournakit on my body, but with her new perfume, at least i would smell good. you know i love to smell nice. i'm going to give it a whiff the next time i'm in macy's. (if i can remember).

    have a good one!

nice to see you having your picture taken and not caring about what people think. get yours.

  8. What a great picture!!! The saying...'like a kid in a candy store'... comes to mind. What fun you are having.
Well, I would do it to, like if Joe Perry's guitar was on display or something. ;-) LOL

Oh sorry to confess, I'm not into 'Sex in the City' very much at all. I know who the girls are and I did see part of the first movie but that's about it for me.
I do like SJP though. We saw 'Did You Hear About The Morgans?' not too long ago. It was good.

Have a nice holiday weekend. Maybe alot of people will be out of town and you'll have some quiet for a couple days. Whatever you do, enjoy!

  9. Ron, you are just too stinking cute! That picture is absolutely adorable. But what I wanns know is: IS it strong enough for a man? LOL (PS... I use it too).

    ReplyDelete
  10. what a great photo
you should take the top photo and the photo of you and the dress and frame them side by side

I always wanted to be a set designer :)

I use Secret too - there's not end to our parallel lives!

I think SJP is wonderful. Vivacious is one of the first words that comes to mind when I think of her

I have her first fragrance although I can't think of the name at the moment

    ReplyDelete
  11. How exciting!!!

But Ron: I think it's really a good thing the dress had been dry-cleaned before you could get a good snootfull of the underarm. What if (gasp!) instead of smelling deodorant, you smelled SWEAT?! How could you ever look at SJP the same again?!

I think you would look fabulous in that dress.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bonjour Leesa!

    OMG....your comment was PRICELESS!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHA!

Yes...she's a size ZERO! The visual person who set the dress on the smallest mannequin, said that she had to pin it closed from the back because it was so small, it wouldn't even zip up!

But, given the chance...I would have SQUEEZED that dress on my body!!!

    Bwhahahahahaaahahhahaha!

    Isn't the dress beautiful???

I'm not sure when the fragrance will be in Europe, but if you get the chance to sample it, I think you would enjoy it. It's very clean and light - perfect for summer!

    Thanks for stopping by, Leesa!

    Have a faaaaaaaaabulous weekend......X

  13. Gooood Morning Meleah!

Thanks, my friend! I was so happy when I found out the dress was coming to the store, I almost SHIT! I didn't believe it until I actually saw it in person.

OMG...I'm so excited about seeing the movie! I was going to go last night, but decided to wait until Monday or Tuesday of next week, to avoid the big crowds. I own the first movie and watch it OFTEN. The series was one of my favs too!

Thank you for stopping by, girl! Hope Poppa Sye had a wonderful birthday!

    Have a great weekend.....X

  14. Gooooood Morning Susie!

OMG...OMG... knowing how much you and I share the LOVE of SJ and SATC....I couldn't WAIT for you to read this post, soul sista!

I honestly thought of you when I saw the dress!

I was originally going to see the movie last night with a friend, but decided to switch it until Monday or Tuesday of next week. I want to see it during a weekday mantinee, so the crowds are not as big. Last night, I read a couple articles online about the premier - it looked so exciting!!!

YES...we'll definately be in touch, dear lady!

    ENJOY IT!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have an Oscar weekend....X

  15. Good Morning Val!

    YES...a size ZERO!?!??!?

"that would probably look like a tournakit on my body."

    Bwhahahahahahahaha....OMG, girl...you are so funny!

I think (even on my tiny body) it would look the same way. However, I would STILL be willing to TRY!

I think you'll enjoy the fragrance. It's very nice. Perfect for this time of the year. I love her first fragrance too!

Thank you for stopping by, girl! Have a glorious weekend....X

  16. Hiya Crystal Chick!

"like a kid in a candy store"

YES...that's exactly what I felt like!!!

I totally understand, M...not everyone is GAGA over SATC, like me. It's seems that people either LOVE it, or not, or feel indifferent.

Yes, I did see "Did You Hear About The Morgans" and loved it!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, neighbor! Happy holiday to you too! I think the city is going to be quite this weekend, so Monday will probably be a great time for me to see the movie!

    Have a great weekend.....X

  17. Goooood Morning Peg!

    Awwwwww...thank you!

I had soooooooooo much fun seeing/touching the dress! My good friend in Florida is DYING to see the photos. I need to email them to her tonight.

YES....Secret IS strong enough for a man. In fact, last summer I wrote a post; confessing to my blogging friends that I use Secret. It's honestly the best deodorant. So, if it's strong enough for a man, but made for a woman...a man could use it, right?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks for stopping by, my dear friend!

    Have a beautiful weekend.......X

  18. I cannot wipe the smile off my face. I'm so happy for you that you got so close to something SJP wore, even if it did smell disappointingly like dry cleaner fluids. I know you would have preferred the sweat. (That sentence has never been written before in the history of writing, I'm sure of it).

    Way to style there, Ron!

Oh, p.s. I'm surprised they didn't show SJP's legs in that ad. I mean, she's got perfect ones. Why hide it under the dress?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Howdy Lady Dianne!

"you should take the top photo and the photo of you and the dress and frame them side by side."

OMG....that's a faaaaaaaaabulous idea!!! And I think I'll do it too!!! I never even thought of that, so THANK YOU!!!! I would love it even more if Sarah autographed it - HA!

A very good friend of mine from Florida is married to a man who is a set designer for the stage. He designed the set of "The Diary of Anna Frank", which I was in, back in the late 90's. He did an amazing job!

Isn't Secret the BOMB? It's truly the best deodorant.

Vivacious, yes, that's the PERFECT word to describe her!! I also think she's got an underlining sexiness about her.

Her first fragrance is called, "Lovely." And I LOVE it! I also loved her second fragrance, "Covet." But, for some reason it didn't do well.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, dear lady!

    Have a great holiday weekend.

X to you and the gang!

  20. Hellooooooooooo JD!

" What if (gasp!) instead of smelling deodorant, you smelled SWEAT?! How could you ever look at SJP the same again?!"

    Bwhahahahahahahahahahaha...oh, I LOVE YOU, WOMAN!!!

Ooooooo....but her sweat would probably have her DNA in it, so perhaps I could have scraped some off and then created my own fragrance....

    SJP...DNA!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks, girl...I have a wonderful pair of shoes that that dress would go great with!

ALWAYS a hoot seeing ya, JD!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a happy holiday weekend....X

  21. Hiya Kathy!

"I know you would have preferred the sweat. (That sentence has never been written before in the history of writing, I'm sure of it)."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....oh, that was FLAWLESS, Kathy!!!!

I'm such a CRAZY star-crazed person, that even touching the dress, gave me shivers!

Yes, you're right....I wonder why they didn't show her legs!?!? Perhaps they shot a few that way, but decided that it didn't "balance" the photo?

OMG...she's got the BEST legs, I agree!

Thanks so much for dropping by, neighbor!

    ALWAYS so great seeing ya!

    Have a super holiday weekend.......X

  22. Ok, so even though I don't know much about SJP, this would be pretty cool. You are so lucky. XD Love the picture of you btw.

  23. Hiya Gavin!

    Awwwww....thanks, buddy!

You should have seen me when I first saw the dress...

...I felt like I was looking at some holy relic. I wanted to kneel and kiss it!

    Bwhahahahahahahaahhahahah!

Thanks for stopping by today, Gavin!

    Always great seeing ya!

    Have a super-duper holiday weekend....X

  24. Secret is no secret to women...it is the best! Most men just aren't privy to that info! Now, come on, Ron, I know you have the ability to "photoshop" yourself into that dress and display it on your blog! hey, don't laugh, it's the next best thing! I'll be waiting for the picture. Have a fabulous weekend!

  25. Hola Suziecate!

"Secret is no secret to women...it is the best! Most men just aren't privy to that info!"

    HAHAHHHAHAHAH....you said it, girl!

One day while I was shopping for deodorant, I decided to try it for the hell of it, and LOVED it. The the only one I use!

"I know you have the ability to "photoshop" yourself into that dress and display it on your blog! hey, don't laugh, it's the next best thing!"

OMG...that's a GREAT idea!!!! I wish, wish, wish I had "photoshop" or I would! I may look into installing it on my new laptop because it has much more memory than my desktop. For all the blogging I do, I really should have it.

Thanks for stopping by, dear lady!

    Have a FABU holiday weekend....X

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi-lar! I would totally have tried it on too. Although then I would have been tempted to find myself a martini and run around looking for shoes to buy... sigh...
    Love the pic.

    ReplyDelete
  27. ...LOL! You stinkin' kill me! lol... I do love the dress and when you told me you wanted to sniff the underarm area I immediately thought of Mary Catherine Gallagher from SNL...lol

...Yeah, SJP is just too damn cute and so are you in that window! SJP should hire you to be part of her ad campaign...as a matter of fact, I'm gonna fire off an email to her people as soon as I leave here... :o)

...Thanks for the laughs! You ROCK!

    ...Blessin's... :o)

    ReplyDelete
  28. OMG! You lucky bastard! I saw the ad in a magazine and just LOVED the dress! Now, a size 0 might fit my right thigh but I'd kill to see/touch the dress. I like SJP a lot, too. Her "Covet" perfume is one of my favorite scents.

I'm thinkin' she probably had her pits lasered and/or had that treatment where you don't sweat.

    ReplyDelete
  29. How fun for you! And yes, I expected to see a photo of you wearing the dress.

Have a great holiday weekend! xoxo

  30. Hey Ron,

I didn't realize you were a size zero, not that not being would stop you anyways.

Nice Pic Buddy it's pretty cool that you are involved in the promotion of scents and sniffing of deodorant stains.

    Loved the post my Friend.

OMG...don't ya just LOVE the dress?

Oooo...I could just see YOU it!

It has this faaaaabulous BRIGHT pink tulle under the satin. It looks like something you could wear to a cocktail party!

OMG...LOVE Covet too!!! Unfortunately, they took it off the market because it didn't have a strong following. I don't understand, because it's a REALLY great fragrance. It's different.

"I'm thinkin' she probably had her pits lasered and/or had that treatment where you don't sweat."

    I bet she does too!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Sis!

So glad you got just as excited as I did!

    Bwhahahahahaah...Yes! Yes!...that's right!

Isn't SJP a DOLL? Not only do I think she's cute and sexy, but I also love HER. I've seen her on several talk shows and she's very HUMAN. For all her GLITZ and GLAMOUR, she's very down-to-earth.

"SJP should hire you to be part of her ad campaign...as a matter of fact, I'm gonna fire off an email to her people as soon as I leave here..."

    Oooooh thank you, dear lady!

I can't wait to hear from them - HA!

  37. Hi Ron!! I am not a woman who rushes out to purchase a celebrity endorsed perfume because they usually smell like crap does on a hot humid day in the Delta. That being said, I was gleefully suprised with the first perfume SJP endorsed, so I will check out this new one.

Love the dress and I bet you would have looked smokin hot in it. Next time try it on!

  38. Good Morning Linda!

"ron, you would look better in this dress than she does!"

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! THANK YOU for saying that, dear lady!

I know, not everyone LOVES SJP the way I do, so I understand. It's either they LOVE her or NOT.

I'm holding a bottle of the NYC fragrance in my hand, in the photo.

Have a beautiful holiday weekend, dear Linda! Enjoy all those gorgeous flowers!

Bwhahahahahahha...yes! I couldn't agree with you more!!! Most of them suck. BIG time! I won't mention "who's" celebrity fragrances I can't stand, because god forbid they find this post. But, there's a "certain singer" who's fragrances all smell like cotton candy - ick!

I agree, SJP first fragrance is gleefully wonderful! I also liked her second one, but I was in the minority.

"Love the dress and I bet you would have looked smokin hot in it."

  46. LOVE it!! adorable photo, naturally.
Oh, so I have a fashio-fragrance related question that requires some expert advice.

    Do you mind?

I squirt the fragrance into the air then walk through the mist. Twice. Is that the right way to apply fragrance? (my fave is prada milano, but it's just so strong).

Ron, hope you are enjoying this fabulous weekend. Wish you were here hanging out by the pool with me & Cristy! Love ya!

  47. Gooooood Morning Diane!

    Oooooooo....

It's soooooo great to see ya, dear lady!

You have no idea how much I miss reading your blog - boo-hoo.:(

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the photo - aren't I CRAZY!?!?!?!?

Ok, first I have to tell you.... I TOOOOO LOVE Prada Milano!!! In fact, I love ALL the Prada fragrances. Have you tried their new one? Prada L'eu Ambree? Please do, because I think it's officially my favorite one. I actually have a small bottle of it. It's perfect, because it's not strong, but still has that amber scent.

I'm going to leave you a link to a post I wrote on my other blog about "How to Select and Apply a Fragrance"

This is how I was taught to wear fragrance, so perhaps you may find something in it that will help.

Thank you so much for stopping by, dear lady! You are so sweet! I too wish I was there hanging out by the pool with you and Cristy! I'm actually working today, but I have tomorrow and Tuesday off.

I get so GAGA over celebrities, I can't help it. One time Renee Zellweger came into the store and I ran around like a crazed mental patient, trying to find her in the men's department. However, she left before I found her.

  54. Classic! Of course you wanted to put the dress on. Are you kidding, I would have wanted to put the dress on and I can't stand SJP. I have a theory that you may be able to help me with. SJP is only attractive to other women who love fashion and gay men. My husband finds her repellent. The crazy clothes, the too skinny frame, the nose, he can't stand her. I'm working on a post about how most upscale fashions are man repellents. Maybe it's just us women conning ourselves into thinking we look good but deep down know we actually look ridiculous. We keep each other from getting the straight men. Well, I"m married so I guess I don't count. Plus, I have no fashion sense. There goes my theory.

  55. Good Morning Jen!

"I have a theory that you may be able to help me with. SJP is only attractive to other women who love fashion and gay men."

You know, I never thought of it that way, but you have a great point there!!! I DO find that most of the people who really like SJP ARE gay men and women who love fashion.

What's really ironic though, is that I'm not a fan of SJP's character (Carrie) on SATC, I'm more a fan of SJP herself. If you really look at her sense of style "off camera" she's much more relaxed in the way she dresses.

Either way, I think it's interesting how the public feels so strongly one way or the other about her.

They either love her or can't stand her.

For me, I know she's not traditionally beautiful, but there is something about her overall personna that I find very attractive and sexy. It's her ENERGY that I love!

As always, I SO enjoy hearing your thoughts and feelings on things. You're the BEST!

Thank you for stopping by, Jen!

    Have a great Thursday....X
