My inspiration for this post came from my dear, longtime blogging friend, Debbie @ Musings by an ND Domer's Mom, who is not only a gifted...
On the way to my mother’s memorial service in the car, I said to my brother Tom, “Let’s think of this as a celebration of a life rather than a bleak and sad funeral because that’s how Mom would have wanted it.”
To say that I miss my mother is an understatement.
I miss her dearly because I feel the void of her physical presence and our daily telephone conversations. But honestly I don’t feel sad for her. I feel extremely content.
My mother exited her physical form exactly as she wished.
In peace.
She left this earth with a smile on her face, while looking into the eyes of her son.
And it’s ironic because one of her all-time favorite songs was, “Smile” by Nat King Cole.
It’s hard for me to express all that I feel presently, because this experience is still being processed and needs the gift of time.
But I'm doing well.
(thank you all for your comments, emails and cards of concern and care)
I know in future posts, I will be sharing more about the life-changing growth and insights I’ve learned through the passing of my mother.
Yet in the meantime, I would like to share a video I put together as a tribute to the greatest lady I ever knew.
No matter who met, Ann, they instantly loved her because she had a way of putting people at ease and making them feel extremely comfortable in her company.
She epitomized the word love.
She openly gave love. Therefore, was loved in return.
She was also extremely loyal and charitable.
If she was your friend, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for you.
She even gave to total strangers.
She offered herself 100%.
This video pretty much sums up the essence of what my mother’s life contributed to this world.
Heart Smiles.
Enjoy…
