Since I’m forever sharing the beautiful areas of this city, I thought I’d expose you to a different view.

Today I would like to share some photographs and insight about a particular area in Philadelphia.

South Street.

South Street is an east-west street forming the southern border of the Center City neighborhood of Philadelphia and the northern border for the neighborhoods of South Philadelphia.

I honestly have to say that South Street is not a place I frequent in Philly because it primarily caters to tourists and college students, with its T-shirt stores, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs.

It's just one BIG partying area at night.

Yet, South Street has an interesting feel to it because it’s completely different from any other area in Philadelphia, which is primarily known for its stunningly beautiful and grand architecture.

South Street on the other hand, shall I say, is a bit more on the trashy side.

But even in its trashiness, it still has its own unique kind of flair.

That’s one of the things I love about cities (particularly older cities) – because they usually contain strong and blatant elements of beauty and rawness.

Like life. Life can be both beautiful and raw.

So allow me to give you a peek into South Street.

Please enjoy…

Woo! Woo! A place to learn pole dance fitness! And just think, being a man, I’ve already got my own POLE. So all I’d have to do is bring it to class and start dancing around it.

*I'm curious to know if this place has a back room where they sell dirty magazines and condoms?

Platform shoes I saw in a store window. Hey, I bet these are the exercise shoes everyone wears at Got Pole.

An old and dilapidated apartment building. I hope the interior looks a little bit better than the EXTERIOR.

Isn’t this cool? A tropical scene painting on the front of a building.

Lorenzo and Sons, a Philadelphia family owned business, which unfortunately closed back in June 2012, due to a fire. However, they have plans of reopening. They had the BEST pizza!

This used to be a store called, Zipperhead (a punk rock boutique), which closed its doors back in 2005.

*Probably because of the LARGE ant infestation.

Thanks so much for taking this little tour down South Street!

Have a marvi Monday everyone!
