Post updates by email:

Last week the official launch of Nicki Minaj's new fragrance (Minajesty) occurred.

And if you remember a post I shared last year about fragrance bottles, I included Nicki Minaj's first fragrance (Pink Friday) and mentioned how SCARY I thought the design was.

If you haven't seen the bottle, just click here and take a quick look before reading on.

Well guess what? The newest design is even MORE scary!

When I first saw it, I covered my eyes and let out an audible scream that shattered the glass in the cosmetic cases.

But I have to say in all honesty, the fragrance itself is not bad. It's not my particular taste in a women's fragrance, but I can see why some people would like it. It's fresh and fruity, but also contains some warm notes which give the fragrance some depth.

However, the bottle?

Well, you have to see it for yourself.

Here, take a gander...

*note: you have to remove the whole head to get to the spray pump. but i guess that's slightly better than having it spray out of her mouth.

What is so disturbing about the rear view of this bottle is that it reminds me of the back of Ronald McDonald's head.

Part of this launching event included the fragrance models who work for the company, to wear pink wigs (yes, you heard me right, PINK WIGS). However, since none of the models would wear them because they were afraid of freaking out the customers, I asked if I could try one on so that I could take photographs and then post them on my blog.

You know me, I have no shame in posting photographs of myself online so that the WHOLE world can see me wearing a PINK WIG.

Here are a few photographs I had taken, which I edited a bit to create different effects.

Warning: I look scarier than the bottle.

*drum roll*

Ladies and gentlemen, me...

My sexy Miley Cyrus pose

I may even decided to market myself as a print ad model.

Here is a faux magazine photograph I created, just in case I decide to submit myself as their new male print ad model for Nicki Minaj's men's version.

Have an absolutely smashing weekend everyone!

  1. Bahahaha bahahaha.............Hilarious, Ron! It does look like Ronald McDonald from the back! What a godawful bottle! She is so bizarre. When she first got popular, I thought she was a drag queen, and truthfully, I'm still not 100 percent sure she isn't!

The second photo of you is my fave, but that print ad you created is quite eye-catching.

  2. I really like the way you designed the last picture(s), Ron. I have to say though that no matter what it the actual perfume was like I wouldn't buy it in such an outrageous looking bottle. Packaging is what attracts buyers and it wouldn't attract me. Still that's just me... I guess there are some who would buy it. Wearing a pink wig definitely gives you a sultry look, just be careful where you wear it.... *grins*

    Have a brilliant weekend.

  3. Holy crap! That bottle looks like some kind of satanic gum ball machine!

I think you look much better than that, Ron, and I love how you get your pink on!

The photo with the light over your head looks like your ascending into Heaven. You're the Virgin Ronnie! (Yeah, right!) The last photo is giving me a psychedelic flashback to the Sixties!

Great post, buddy! Have a minaj-velous weekend and keep wigging out!

  4. Crikey that bottle is S.C.A.R.Y.! What on earth were they thinking?? You had a lot of fun with that wig Ron didn't you? LOL

  5. They were afraid of freaking out the customers in the wig?! Riggghhhttttt... They shoulda been more afraid of freaking out the customers with that bottle.
O.M.G. what WERE they thinking?! Someone told them it was a good idea to market the perfume in a pink version of Ronald McDonald?
    Oy.
Being unique/your own person is a grand thing. It's a liberating thing and a source of joy. BE that. But good grief, you're talking about marketing a fragrance. You're going to have to make it a less expensive product and sell to a very young group with that bottle. LOL Which leaves me out....Which is probably a very okay thing....it'd scare me to have that on the vanity. LOLOL

YOU in pink--not the least bit scary. JUST sayin'....

  6. I don't do perfume, because of my allergies, but even if I did, I would NEVER have that bottle on my dresser. It's ugly and classless, in my humble opinion. It looks like a child's toy! The bra looks like two clown feet ha ha ha!

  7. Ron, I so enjoy reading these hilarious posts in the morning when I come to work. You are so funny and cute! You're right, the bottle design is scary, much more severe than the first one. What was she thinking?

Love the pictures of you in the pink wig. And the sexy Miley Cyrus look made me laugh out loud at my desk. The last photo you created of the faux magazine ad, looks like an actual advertizement you would see in a magazine.

I only wear one perfume right now, Chloe. It seems to work well with my skin because I get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

Thank you for making we laugh today, Ron. Have a smashing weekend!

  8. Haha first of all I love the pictures of you in a pink wig. Absolutely hilarious! And adding in the miley cyrus pose was priceless. As for those bottles what the heck was she thinking? I guess that really is the height of hubris when you need your own likeness to be on a bottle so badly that you end up scaring the customers away. Some people confuse me.

" It does look like Ronald McDonald from the back!"

I swear to god, that was the FIRST thing I thought when I saw the bottle - RONALD MCDONALD - HA!

"When she first got popular, I thought she was a drag queen, and truthfully, I'm still not 100 percent sure she isn't!"

OMG...I cannot believe you said that because, truthfully, other than her fragrances, I know nothing about her or her music. However, on the box of her first fragrance she has a picture of herself and that's exactly what thought...she looks like a drag queen! I actually think she is an attractive young lady, if she would just cut back on the exaggerated makeup and hair. But hey, that's part of her onstage persona I guess.

I edited these photographs over at Pixlr, which I just recent discovered from one of my blogging friends, Jean, who did a review on it on her blog. Check it out, it's a great online photo editing software.

Much thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a smashing weekend!

Yes, I feel the same way. I notice though that the greater percentage of the customers who are purchasing these fragrances are usually young girls. And it sells A LOT in our store.

"Wearing a pink wig definitely gives you a sultry look, just be careful where you wear it.... *grins*"

Bwhahahahahaha! But do you know what's really funny? This fragrance sells A LOT in our store. In fact, people come in and ASK for it. It's not a very expensive perfume at all. In fact, it's very reasonable. But I think that's because it's mainly targeted to young ladies.

"YOU in pink--not the least bit scary. JUST sayin'...."

Yet, do you know what's funny? This fragrance sells A LOT in our store. It's primarily young ladies who purchase it, but I've seen women of all ages buy it as well.

" And the sexy Miley Cyrus look made me laugh out loud at my desk."

When I saw the photo of you with tongue hanging out, I busted out laughing. Miley Cyrus move over, because Ronicki Minaj is taking over!

Oh gosh, I don't know. I just write about stuff that's going on in my life at the time, or things that interest me. I'm glad to hear you're doing okay and that you're just busy because I was hoping all was well with you. And yes, please let me know how it goes, okay?

  53. I'm not sure if I should hide or run away. That bottle is atrocious looking, and in the right hands it could prove quite deadly if thrown in anger. But hey, it's doing it's intended job....I now curious to see what it smells like.

And your poster could serve as an awesome flyer for a rave party. Throw in some glow sticks and you're ready to rave! Heh...

HAHAHAHAHAHA! You're right, Herman! In the right hands it could prove deadly!!!

And what's hysterical is that MANY people love the bottle, so you're right...it's doing its intended job.

The smell is not bad at all, but I think it's more geared towards younger ladies who like more POPULAR fragrances.

"And your poster could serve as an awesome flyer for a rave party. Throw in some glow sticks and you're ready to rave!"

OMG...you are so right, it DOES look like something to do with a rave party! Good eye you have!

  55. Oh, God, Ron, it's Monday morning and you got me bawling my eyes out!

This is such a beautiful post and I'm so grateful to you for sharing your memories of your mom.

Time does fly by so quickly. It's been over 10 years since my mom passed away and I still have a hard time accepting it.

Your description of the experience in the park was so lovely.

“We’re together now. And we’re happy and well. We love you, Ronnie.”

Yes, they are together, they're happy and well, and yes, they do love you. And so do a lot of other people!

Thank for sharing this with us, Ron. May your parents rest in peace and always watch over you.

Take care, buddy, and have a great week!

  56. Ron, has it been almost a year already? It seems like it was yesterday to me. What a beautiful post! You express your feelings and thoughts so well that I can feel them. I miss your mother too because it always felt as though I knew her through the posts you shared.

Thank you for sharing this today, Ron. I will be thinking of you on the 15th.

Have a wonderful week, Ron xo

  57. Hey there Rob!

"Time does fly by so quickly. It's been over 10 years since my mom passed away and I still have a hard time accepting it."

Time sure does fly by, doesn't it? I was talking with my brother a few weeks ago and I said, "Tom, can you believe it's going on a year since Mom passed away???" As I shared, in a way it seems like it happened yesterday, but in another way it seems so long ago.

"Your description of the experience in the park was so lovely."

It's ironic how that happened while I was sitting in the park because my mother LOVED nature. It happened in a flash. And it was not so much hearing what they said, but feeling what they said. It made me tear up.

Much thanks for stopping by buddy. And thank you for your sweet words and support, last year and always.

    Have a faaaaaaabulous week!

Yes, can you believe it's been almost a YEAR already? When I think back to last November, it feels like it just happened. But in another way, it feels as though it happened years ago.

My mother has been on my mind so much lately, and my father as well.

Absolutely not, Ron. What wonderful things our minds are that we NEVER forget. We might forget a lot of stuff but never what is or was important to us. I'm glad you saw your mom and dad and know that they're happy.

I cannot believe it has been a year. It only seems like a couple of months since you went on that holiday to Florida and posted all the photographs of your happy mom and brother. Sigh!

Sorry I'm late, my friend. I relied on Blogger to let me know you had posted and Blogger let me down - again. Yes, I know I have Bloglovin' and Feedly and a bookmark at the top of my screen but I must have reverted to past practices of reading my blog roll. Not any more, I promise...haha. Happy Monday xx

    You said it, dear lady!

"I cannot believe it has been a year. It only seems like a couple of months since you went on that holiday to Florida and posted all the photographs of your happy mom and brother. Sigh!"

I know, can you believe it's almost been a YEAR?!? I can clearly remember when I went to Florida last July and spent two weeks with my mother and brother, like it was yesterday!

"Sorry I'm late, my friend. I relied on Blogger to let me know you had posted and Blogger let me down - again."

No, there is something going on with my RSS feed because it's has not updated on either Feedburner or Feedly today, so it's not you, it has something to do with my feed. I've tried refreshing my blog post several times this morning, but it still hasn't updated my feed. I have no idea what's going on?! Hopefully it will update soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Have a fantabulous Monday and week!

  63. Ron, I had tears in my eyes reading this post because I've had a similar experience after my grandfather passed away several years ago. I could feel him close to me and communicating. So I also believe that those who have passed can still speak to us in spirit.

I can hardly believe it's been almost a year since your mother passed because it seems like it was two seconds ago. I remember that post you wrote and the posts you wrote while you were in Florida visiting her last July.

As you said, just because our loved ones pass away doesn't mean the memories pass away with them. They remain in our heart, forever.

    Peace to you, Ron.

You too, Matt? It's funny because after my father passed away in 1993, it wasn't until many, may years later did I feel him communicating with me. It was around Father's Day and he was on my mind constantly. In fact it wasn't until then, did I really feel the loss of him. For weeks, all I did was cry. But afterwards, I felt at peace.

" I remember that post you wrote and the posts you wrote while you were in Florida visiting her last July."

Yes, I went back and read those posts this past weekend and recalled them as if they had just happened.

  66. Ah, Ron, this is so beautiful that it brings a tear to my eyes!

I LOVE the picture of your folks standing near you, hand in hand, smiling, and saying how much they love you! What a comfort that vision must have been to you. It's been nearly 5 years since my Daddy passed (from cancer, too), yet I often can feel him beside me. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!!

You're so right that the blogging community is supportive and strong. We're here for each other. And that's not the same thing as other social media outlets like Twitter, is it?

Next week might be an emotional one for you, so do try to be kind to yourself, okay??

  67. I love this post Ronnie. I really want to believe you are right that although our physical bodies move on our soul can remain and connect with the ones we love. I swear when I am heading down a particularly rocky relationship path I feel my grandmother watching over me telling me never to let a man treat me poorly. She was always my rock and my guidance for those things and I swear there are moments I can feel here with me. Its so nice to see that other people feel that too. Hope you have an awesome week Ronnie!

That's AWESOME! And I totally believe you. TOTALLY. I mean just because our physical body leaves, doesn't mean we can't still communicate through the heart/soul/spirit.

  69. Hey there David!

Thank you :) This post just came to me over the past week. It's one of those times when you write something and it just flows without having to think about it.

" I was not very close to either of my parents so I greatly admire what your Mom was to you."

I know you just started reading my blog so you probably don't know this but the mother I speak of in this post was actually my stepmother, not my birth mother (my birth mother passed away when I was 6 years old). Yet, she and I had a very close bond with each other, as if we were blood related. She was my mother since I was 8 years old, so I've always thought of her as my mother. And what a great lady she was.

"It made me feel good about my relationship with my sons too as I am close to them."

That's so GREAT to hear! And good for you!

Much thanks for stopping by, David. Have a super week!

  70. Helloooooooo Debbie!

This was one of those times when you sit down to write a post and it just flows. I wrote this last week (I think Thursday or Friday) and I added the photos over the weekend.

"What a comfort that vision must have been to you."

Yes, it was. And totally unexpected.

"It's been nearly 5 years since my Daddy passed (from cancer, too), yet I often can feel him beside me. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!!"

Oh, that's wonderful! Isn't it such a COMFORT?

I had something similar happened to me with my father after he passed away. I was still acting at the time and was onstage performing in a play, when all of a sudden I FELT him onstage with me - I kid you not. The feeling was so strong that it brought tears to my eye's WHILE I was onstage acting. It was such an incredible experience that I will never forget.

"You're so right that the blogging community is supportive and strong. We're here for each other. And that's not the same thing as other social media outlets like Twitter, is it?"

Amen! I will ALWAYS prefer blogging when it comes to online socializing because in time, you can really form very strong and real relationships. And I've met so many of my blogging friends in person over the years. LOVE blogging!

"Next week might be an emotional one for you, so do try to be kind to yourself, okay??"

Thank you, and yes, I will.

Have a super Monday and week, Debbie! Thanks for stopping by!

  71. when our physical body dies, our soul continues to live on, and that we can still communicate with those in the physical - through the heart.

That is beautiful. I agree that our souls live on after we leave this world too. I don't know how you mustered the clarity to post the night your mom died. I would be a mess. What a wonderful comfort to have experienced that fleeting feeling in the park. Gone but never forgotten.

  72. I can't believe it almost a year ago, Ron.

I remember a dream I had, about a year after my mum passed. It was a dream that was so vivid, that I felt I actually went there, in my sleep. We were all sitting on grass, having a picnic and laughing together. The colours were so saturated and beautiful, like nothing I've ever seen, and I can't even explain how it made me feel. Nothing happened in the dream. It was just a short moment, with no words, just a feeling of absolute happiness. To this day, I can't help thinking it was no ordinary dream.

  73. Hey there Lisa!

"I don't know how you mustered the clarity to post the night your mom died.'

Do you know what it was? Posting that actually helped me absorb it by sharing with everyone. Also, everyone here had been extremely supportive and kind to me, my mother, and brother through the whole experience that I felt the need to share it that night because they had walked through the whole experience with me for 8 months.

"What a wonderful comfort to have experienced that fleeting feeling in the park. Gone but never forgotten."

I can't thank you enough for sharing your dream. OMG...it so touched me because I could SEE and FEEL what you described perfectly. And it was sort of the same thing for me, I didn't actually hear the words as much as I did feel them. And it was also as you said, just a feeling of absolute happiness!

"To this day, I can't help thinking it was no ordinary dream."

    No, it wasn't. You're right.

  75. I can't believe it's been a year! Time does pass by so quickly. That's so beautiful that you felt your parents presence in the park and that you have such wonderful memories of them from your childhood.

I think I may have mentioned to you my disappointment in the fact that I never get "visited" by my parents, even though I moved into their house. A few days ago, I went out to the garage to get something and I have some boxes out there and summer yard stuff that I need to store in the basement for the winter. Well, in the middle of the garage floor was my father's watch. Just sitting on the ground! I was sure it was in my jewelry box. I said, "Hi, Dad" and have been wearing it ever since.

Then last night, I was sitting in the family room watching TV when I felt a strong cigarette smell. You know my mother smoked like a chimney. So I said, "Hi, Mom" and a few minutes later, it disappeared. I'll take them both as a sign!

We all felt like we knew your mother from your posts about her. I hope it somehow eased your grief to know so many people care. I know it helped me.

Have a great week. Keep smiling and remembering. xoxo

  76. I know, Chrissy, can you believe it? It'll be a year on the 15th! In fact, I marked it on last year's calendar.

And yes, take them as signs because it believe it.

"We all felt like we knew your mother from your posts about her. I hope it somehow eased your grief to know so many people care. I know it helped me."

OMG, it sure did help. TONS! I don't think people who don't blog realize the power of the spoken word and that when people come together (even on the Internet) in community, you receive so much support. You may not be able to see them, but you should as hell can FEEL them.

Much thanks for stopping by and for sharing in your comment. And thank you for your support and love!

  80. Hey there Val!

I know, can you believe it's been almost a year already? OMG...that year flew by! When I went back and read that post over the weekend, I recalled exactly how I felt when I wrote it. It was surreal.

" my biggest wonder with death is how do people go on and still smile. i know two people who did not attend their mom's funeral this past weekend because they said it would be too much. i totally understand."

Yes, I can understand how someone would feel that too. But for me, I realize that the death of a loved one (even though it's hard to experience) is part of life. And that by going through all the emotions you feel (sadness, grief, etc.) it makes it easier to walk through. Also, it gives you closure.

Too true! It's funny how those moments stick with you and revisit you from time to time without any prodding on your part. It's as if your soul is comforting itself when it needs it the most. It's a coping mechanism that we as humans are lucky to have. And it says quite a bit that these happy memories revolve around people you know, knew, and loved.

  89. Oh Ron, this post touched my heart, I'm actually having a bit of cry here as I read the first post about your mom's passing.

My own mom, was MY butterfly. It was her symbol and it has remained that to me, since she left this earth. Here's a poem I think you might like to read:

    http://mypoeticpath.wordpress.com/2008/03/13/butterfly/
Your parents both sound like amazing, supportive people. You were truly blessed to share your life with them. And yes, they ARE still with us, I have no doubts about this. I've interacted with spirits many times in very real ways. I know all about the sense of their presence in our lives on this side. Not always actually seeing them as they were, but tangible all the same. They never leave Ron. Your parents are smiling down reading this post and sending their love. Love is the only thing that really endures forever.
Thank you for this sad but beautiful read this morning. It really did touch my heart.
