My inspiration for this post came from my dear, longtime blogging friend, Debbie @ Musings by an ND Domer's Mom, who is not only a gifted...
Well, this is like the most surprising thing that has ever happened to me while searching for movie photos to add to a post.
I had originally planned on posting just a movie review today, sharing my admiration for Robin Williams in his dazzling portrayal of Euphegenia Doubtfire in the hilarious movie, Mrs. Doubtfire.
Yet when this surprising thing happened to me on Saturday night, I decided to include it within this post.
Now I have say that I’m not normally a HUGE Robin Williams fan when it comes to his comedies. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s an extremely gifted actor, it's just that I prefer him in more dramatic roles because there is something manic about his energy that exhausts me whenever I watch him in most comedies.
HOWEVER…
There is one comedy I adore him in, where I feel that his manic energy is balanced with some really beautiful low-keyed dramatic acting. For being a comedy, Mrs. Doubtfire has many quiet and serious moments as well. And I love the ending because it isn't a totally happily ever after conclusion - it leaves you wondering.
I think Robin Williams did an amazing job portraying Mrs. Doubtfire because you actually forget that she is a he and believe you're watching an elderly woman. And not only because of the brilliant makeup, hair and costumes, but also his voice and mannerisms are truly stellar. To me, he IS Mrs. Doubtfire because he encompassed the character so fully - mind, body and spirit.
Even to this very day whenever I watch this film, I laugh and am touched just as much as I did and was, seeing it the first time.
Robin Williams ROCKS in this film!
Now, getting back to the surprising thing that happened to me...
As I was doing a Google search for Mrs. Doubtfire, I clicked on the images link and began scrolling down the page, when I spotted this photo…
So I clicked on it and suddenly saw this…
Notice the group of thumbnail photographs on the right. Do you see a familiar face?
Yes....it's ME!
So I clicked on the photo and saw this...
This was a photograph I took of myself for a post I shared TWO years ago on this blog.
OMG...I was mystified by how that photo got on the same Google search for Mrs. Doubtfire, and at the same time HORRIFIED that it was THAT photo! I can't believe I even put that photograph on this blog, let alone forgot it would be out there on the Internet for ETERNITY.
But still, I guess I should be flattered and honored that I'm on the Google search for images of Mrs. Doubtfire. I mean, yeah, I can see the similarities, can't you?
*tee, hee*
So perhaps if they ever make a Mrs. Doubtfire Part 2, Hollywood will call and ask if I'm interested in being Robin William's stand-in.
Nah...because this photo makes me look like Mrs. Doubtfire if she were a MANATEE.
Have a marvi Monday, y'all!
