My inspiration for this post came from my dear, longtime blogging friend, Debbie @ Musings by an ND Domer's Mom, who is not only a gifted...
I LOVE food! "Amo il cibo"
Yes, I truly do.
And the older I get, the more I enjoy food and LOVE to eat. I'm one of those people who thinks and talks about food 50% of my day. And the other 50% is spent eating it.
Yet, as I've shared with you in previous posts, I'm not someone who gets off on cooking.
I get off on EATING.
And that's strange because the majority of people who love food the way I do, also love the process of preparing it.
I don't.
I simply enjoy throwing my food together as quickly as I can, and then eating it as slowing as I can while achieving a foodie-orgasm.
And being Italian, I think that is so peculiar because all I recall as I was growing up in my family was that everyone was always in the kitchen, cooking something and screaming at each other. Both my mother and father (especially my father) had such a passion for food and were outstanding cooks. Even my younger brother grew up to become a professional chef.
And me?
I grew up to merely become a professional eater.
As far as I'm concerned, the most glorious thing about eating food is savoring the smell and the taste.
For instance, tonight I threw together spaghetti pasta with olive oil, pesto, shaved Romano/Asiago cheese, and freshly sliced Roma tomatoes. I also made a small side salad.
And it was pure heaven...
Below are a few of my favorite foods and where I shop for them...
Living in a Center City, Philadelphia, I only shop at two places --Trader Joe's and Mom's Market (both within walking distance). I purchase certain foods from each marketplace. And I shop very much like a European. I shop 2-3 times a week; purchasing small, fresh amounts.
Okay, so....
Pasta...
...and MORE pasta...
Garlic bread (and garlic in general)...
Chinese vegetarian food (spring rolls, vegetable fried rice, sesame noodles, etc)...
Cheese...cheese...and MORE cheese...
(especially with crackers, fruit, and a nice glass of red wine)
Salads. I adore salads. And I eat one (with fresh avocado) almost every single day...
Grilled cheese sandwiches...
(paired with a nice hot bowl of tomato soup)
...can you tell that I love cheese?...
...can you tell that I love cheese?...
Pizza...
(and my very favorite is a simple thin crust Margherita pizza topped with a hefty amount of basil)
...paired with a nice glass of red wine...
I used to crave sweets. However, over the past eight years I have gradually lost my sweet-tooth.
Yet, there are two sweets that I will eat a few times a year.
Pumpkin pie...
...and chocolate. But only DARK chocolate...
So there you have it, folks. A few of my favorite foods in Bitmoji style...
Have a scrumptious weekend, y'all
X

Oh, and P.S...over the past few days, I imported my Personal Shopper blog over to Wordpress. I did it for a few different reasons. I used to blog on WP back in 2006. That blog is still there, I just don't post on it anymore. However, I leave it up for anyone doing research on natural health. Things like: Essential Oils, Meditation, Reiki, and Reflexology.
For those of you who use Wordpress, I'm sure you'll understand when I say how completely different it is from Blogger. There are a lot of great things about Wordpress, but it's taking me awhile to get used to how everything works because so many things have changed since I used that platform. It feels like I'm learning a new language. One of the things I really like about this move is that I was able to obtain the domain name I originally wanted, but was unavailable on Blogger.
If you would care to take a peek at the new site, just click on the picture below and it will take you there. I love the template!
