Post updates by email:

I know that many of you have posted about the same thing concerning this season; therefore I can see that no matter where we live in the world, we’re ALL experiencing a similar bipolar winter.

One day it’s gray and freezing; looking as though it’s going to snow. Then the next day it’s sunny and 75 degrees; looking at people walk down the street wearing tank tops, shorts, butt cracks, and flip-flops.

I’m almost half tempted to place my winter coat and gloves in the back of my closet, and bring my beach umbrella and sand bucket up to the front. But I'm sure no sooner after I did that a nor’easter would suddenly hit.

Um….excuse me, but is it winter or summer? I really can't tell anymore.

For me being a winter lover, this particular season has been extremely frustrating.

Almost as frustrating as experiencing anticlimactic sex.

Just when I get to the point of achieving orgasm (a good winter snowfall), I lose it by having it turn into nothing more than a drizzly, lukewarm, half-baked, faked-you-out-climax.

And then suddenly my manhood falls into a limp spaghetti noodle.

NO SNOW.

I realize I’m very much alone in my feeling when it comes to winter, but if I’m going to experience winter, I would like some WHITE STUFF please.

And not just a few measly-looking flakes that last for ten seconds and then stops. No, some REAL snow. Like out of a Norman Rockwell painting.

Saturday morning, right before I got ready to go to work, I looked out my window and much to my delight saw it SNOWING. And snowing HEAVILY.

*doing the happy dance*

So I immediately grabbed my camera and took these photos…..

But by the time I uploaded them onto my computer (which took no more than TWO minutes), I turned to look out the window again, and saw this….

I stood there thinking to myself, “Okay, was it just snowing or what?” And if I hadn’t had the pictures to prove it, I would have thought I had just experienced a hallucination.

Here I was two minutes ago, getting all excited and ERECT about the snow.

But then suddenly everything went…..

*Note: For those of you who ARE having snow this winter, could you kindly send me some in a Styrofoam thermal container? I promise to reimburse you for the shipping. Thank you….x

UPDATE: I don't know what's going on with my blog right now and commenting, but it seems that Blogger and Disqus are having a technical conflict. And what's strange is that some of your comments are coming through, yet others are not. So if you have a problem leaving a comment, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully, this will work out soon. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE 2: I fixed it. Thank you for your patience.

  1. Good morning Ronnie,

My goodness, that is what they call faking it indeed... I would have sworn that those photos were from two different days if you had not said so. Weird...

Don't ya be asking me for your styrofoam cup of melted joy because in the Paris area, I snowed 1 day and a half since this winter. Making a :( for you.
Hoping for you one last "big O" ;) in the form of a late winter snowfall
You never know; it can happen!

    Big hugs and happy Monday.

  2. LOL!!! We are seriously in need of snow here too Ron...Usually here in Upstate NY we get ALOT of snow. Not so this year. Honestly, I cannot remember another year when we have had these warm temps and no snow. I'm not a huge fan of the ice and snow, but not having to drive in it every day to go to work certainly helps!! It seems we should get at least one really good storm with ALOT of accumulation before the season ends...one can only hope!! Happy Monday Ron!!

  4. Well, BOO HOO HOO Ronnie! I'm LOVING this winter!!! Have only had to break out the snow blower about 6 times all season, compared to most winters when I have to use it 3 times/day!!!

And I don't know if it's just my computer, but WTH is with the 50 lines of gibberish after your Note?? Blogger went crazy on you!

  5. It's been a HORRIBLE winter!!! Not that I expect snow down here in Hell but I do want a few chilly/cold days, at least! It's been in the '80s every. damn. day!

    I feel your pain, bro.

  6. Wow, Ron, you really caught my attention with that headline! It's been a crazy winter--you see a guy wearing shorts standing next to a lady in a parka--but as someone who hates cold weather, all I can say is the warmer the better. Sorry your snow-gasm hasn't happened yet, but one of the nastiest blizzards I ever saw happened in April. So don't give up the shovel. Old Man Winter may take some Viagra and let you have it! Have a great week, buddy!

  7. So sorry you've gotten so worked up about things happening (snow) and then getting blue balls because it didn't happen. Dang... and you thought that was supposed to stop with teen hood, huh? Hope you get your little bit of heaven (snow) but can you make it happen just like around you? I don't really want any here! Have a wonderful week!

"My goodness, that is what they call faking it indeed... I would have sworn that those photos were from two different days if you had not said so. Weird..."

Isn't that the STRANGEST thing you've ever seen? I've I hadn't experienced it myself, I would have sworn it was two completely different days!

"Don't ya be asking me for your styrofoam cup of melted joy because in the Paris area, I snowed 1 day and a half since this winter."

Yes I know, it's been like that everywhere in the world. The only place that seems to be getting any snow are parts of Canada.

"Hoping for you one last "big O" ;) in the form of a late winter snowfall
You never know; it can happen!"

HA! You're right, the "big O" can happen in March or even April, because I've seen it happen!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend. Happy Monday! And have a wonderful week!

I know, isn't it INSANE???? I used to live in NYC and know that Upstate normally gets a TON of snow during the winter months.

"I'm not a huge fan of the ice and snow, but not having to drive in it every day to go to work certainly helps!!"

True, having to drive in snow is a bummer. That's one of the things that's really nice about living in a city because the snow is all taken care of BY the city. I only have to walk to work, so it's not really a bother.

"It seems we should get at least one really good storm with ALOT of accumulation before the season ends...one can only hope!! "

    *fingers crossed*

I'm hoping for just ONE good snowfall before Spring hits. And it may just happen :)

  24. Oh. :-( You poor, poor thing..... What a tease to start--and then to suddenly stop midway through your ...umm.....celebration? Cool photos though?

    *laughing*
We had another 4 measly inches the other day. NOT that I'm complaining--it was perfect for snowball making. Well, more like slushball making.....but it did stick together!
No Mr. Snowmans kinda snow--and certainly not in the quantities that we're accustomed to. NOT that I'm complaining! (feeling a need to keep letting the Big Guy know that should He think to misinterpret what I'm sayin' here--I'm NOT looking for a foot or better of the white stuff......JUST clarifying!)
I also know this is the mid-west and it's basketball tournament time! Yes--there's this phenomenon that happens around this time.
    *wincing* It's called SNOW.
    *sigh*
I'm so hoping to avoid it. All for selfish reasons, of course!
    *hanging head*

"We had another 4 measly inches the other day. NOT that I'm complaining--it was perfect for snowball making. Well, more like slushball making.....but it did stick together!"

I know from past years and reading your blog that you normally have TONS of snow every year, however this year you're not, so I KNOW something is up. But I think that's happening everywhere in the world this winter. It snows, then stops, it snows, then stops.

I think parts of Canada are the only places having any REAL snow this year.

    "Geeze.
And we JUST got a snowblower this year!

    Dangit.

OMG, it's so ironic you said that because a woman I work with said the same thing this year. She and her hubby bought a brand new snowblower this year, yet haven't had the chance to use it even ONCE!

But I have a very strong feeling that March and even April will be the coldest months of the winter, AND bring us snow.

    *crossing my fingers*

Ahahahaha! I LOVE the 'limp' picture!! LOL!

We've actually had several of these anticlimactic 'snowfalls' this winter, but we've also had two near-perfect snowfalls! For two weeks running, it snowed at the beginning of the weekend, settled to a depth of about 5-6 inches and looked pretty for a couple of days and then melted before it could become a real nuisance! Aaaah, lovely!!!

I've only read a couple of blogs this morning, but two of them were complaining about news feeds and both mentioned Google. I hate Google!!! Bad enough that I should be forced to open a Blogger account to comment on Blogger blogs, but then to find out the Google reader is losing people's posts and not 'talking' to other types of systems is just beyond frustrating.

I use Net Newswire and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm NOT happy, however, to hear that the possible reason my readership was falling off is because no bugger can see when I've posted something!

However .. I have been missing for a while, so maybe that has something to do it with too. *Ahem!*

  38. Good morning Valerie~

Yes, I think I finally figured out what the problem was. Something happened on Blogger right before I published this post Sunday evening - I think it must have been some sort of upgrade in their post editor, because something strange happened, which has never happened before - the post editor FLIPPED OUT and did all sorts of odd things. So I think what happened was that it caused a mistake in the HTML coding within this post, which in turn caused an interference with my Disqus comment box loading properly. So, late yesterday afternoon I republished this post and it seems to have fixed it. I hope!

Sorry for the inconvenience, dear lady. And thanks so much for coming back and leaving another comment.

Yes, it's been the same way here. The weather has been CRAZY. Yesterday it started off cold, but then by the afternoon it got so WARM I had to take my jacket off because I was sweating! - UGH!

Don't ya just LOVE when that happens? It snows, but then melts away before it becomes a total nuisance. That's perfect because you can enjoy the 'white stuff' but not have to fight with it.

I would send you some snow in a thermal cup and wouldn't even think of asking for shipping, but no sooner than the snow stopped, it went away. It was just as dramatic as your pictures!

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

    XOXO

  43. Hey there Diane~

" Just last week we had a 77 degree day with sun and no clouds. A day later we get SEVEN INCHES! Today we are back up in the 70s. It just isn't normal!"

It's been the same way here too. PSYCHO weather!! It's been so warm lately, yet I heard from someone today that tomorrow the temp is suppose to drop down real low and possibly bring rain AND snow!

"I would send you some snow in a thermal cup and wouldn't even think of asking for shipping, but no sooner than the snow stopped, it went away."

    HA! Thanks, girl!

Hope you're having a faaaaaaaaaaabulous week! Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

  44. Yeah! I can comment!

We haven't had a winter here either. The sun is shining and we've had our back door wide open today. Our snow fall was only a dusting this year, that soon melted away.

  45. Goooooood morning Babs~

    Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!

Yes, I think figured out what was wrong. It had something to do with the post editor going bonkers right before I posted this on Sunday night, and messing up the HTML code; preventing Disqus from loading properly. So I republished this post and it seemed to work.

Yup, I think we've all HAD the most bazaar winter this year. Yesterday it was sunny and gorgeous here, today it's back to freezing and raining.

Thanks so much for stopping back and commenting, my friend. Muchly appreciated!

    Have a wonderful week!

  48. Hey there Shae~

"Funny you are posting this today Ronnie because it snowed pretty bad here today."

    OH MAN......I am soooooooooooooooo jealous!!!!!

Could you please send me some? Tee, hee!

"I was NOT a fan of driving in it!"

Yes, I totally understand and I agree with you. It's NOT fun driving in it.

I think the reason I love snow so some much is because I live in a city, and experiencing snow is much different in a city than it is in a rural area and having to drive in it.

Thanks so much for stopping by, girl! Hope you're enjoying a wonderful week.....X

  50. hi ron...well seems comments are OK ...so far.

i was fascinated by the top photo-sorry but not the snow..i detest the stuff. no, the photo with what looks like a graffiti wall or something. in fact it looks so colorful for a rooftop view, don't you think. quite picturesque. as for the white stuff and winter....you know tonight and today is the first rain we've had. and it's so cold i don't want to move my arms out from under the covers to type. yes, i am in bed. ...

now as for the very graphic nature of your post, you leave me speechless and i do hope, given your reaction, you do get some snow soon, poor man. ;)
xoxoxoxo and the spaghetti stuck on the tile was a nice "graphic" demo for what you mean ... gotcha.

  51. Good morning Linda~

Yes, on Monday I had a glitch in my commenting format, which I think was due to a glitch in my Blogger post editor and the HTML code. I republished this post and it all seems to be running smoothing now. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

"the photo with what looks like a graffiti wall or something. in fact it looks so colorful for a rooftop view, don't you think. quite picturesque."

You're right, that photo is a wall graffiti created by an artist here in Philly. Isn't it cool-looking? I can see it right from my window!

"sorry but not the snow..i detest the stuff. "

Ha! I know, most people do. I can't help it though, I LOOOOOOOOVE the stuff. Snow makes me feel all giddy and child-like. Tee, hee!

"now as for the very graphic nature of your post, you leave me speechless and i do hope, given your reaction, you do get some snow soon, poor man."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Aren't I WICKED????

Thanks so much for stopping by, dearest lady. Hope your knee is feeling better and that you're having a GRAND week!

  52. I know! It's so crazy. We reached a record high of 68 yesterday and by Saturday, it's supposed to snow. I'm tempted to remove the plow guy's stakes on each side of my driveway, but I know that as soon as I do that, it will snow. OY!!

    Have a great weekend, Ron!

  54. It's schitzy here in California, too. In the 80s today and beautiful, but the minute I take the tarp off my deck furniture, I know it will rain. Fortunately, I don't depend on the weather for my orgasms.

    That's why God created chocolate.
