In as much as I love and appreciate color (and specifically bright colors), I don’t have my apartment decorated with much of it, nor do I ever wear a lot of colorful clothing.

My studio apartment is decorated more in natural and earthy tones, and my clothing is practically all black (like an undertaker), with the exception of an occasion shirt in royal blue.

I find that if I’m around, or even wearing, an excessive amount of bright colors for too long, it’s overly stimulating.

Perhaps it’s because I’m a highly energetic person, that I like having the opposition of neutral and quieter tones surrounding me on a day to day basis, as a means of balancing my personality.

Yeah, I know that sounds very “psychoanalysis” but I think that different colors affect people differently.

One of my dear and longtime blogging friends, Linda @ A Country Woman Who Paints, is just the opposite of me. She revels in color and shares it through her AWESOME artwork on her blog. She is an extremely gifted and talented lady; expressing herself through every stroke of an art brush. The cool thing about Linda's artwork is that it's both boldly bright, yet at the same time...soft. And what is truly inspiring is that she uses her art as a personal means of transformation and healing. For her, art and color are two of the tools she uses to explore and express her life’s journey.

So today, I would like to dedicate this post to Linda, in celebrating color. Because through knowing her, I have learned how powerful the use of color can be.

X ya, Linda. And thank you for bringing your color into this world!

Most of these photos were taken last week, when I ventured out to Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. However, a few were taken last year.

Please enjoy…

A stunning mural painted on the side of a building. I especially love how the artist painted a reflection on the upper window to make it appear as though it was real glass. Isn't that faaaaabulous?

I love this creative boutique sign because the bright colors just POP against the black background.

A colorful rug I saw hanging in front of a rug store.

Doesn't this colorful bistro sign make you want to EAT there? YUM-MY!

Reminds me of something you would see at Seaworld in Orlando, Florida.

This store (Earth) is owned by a delightful man who offers earthly-inspired home furnishings.

An abandoned building in Old City, Philadelphia.

Is it just me, or does this photo make you want to drink a glass of red wine; then put on a pink tutu and pirouette around your living room like one of the hippopotamus's in Fantasia?  *please click the link

Times Square in NYC. Does it get anymore colorful than this?

A collage I created using four photos I took of a light show in front of an office building on Market Street in Center City, Philadelphia. I stood there for 20 minutes, while watching the colorful designs morph.

Wishing you a COLORFUL weekend everyone!

  2. Great photographs, Ron. Now I'm trying to imagine what sort of picture would suit the outside of my house! As for Earth... Wow, I'd love to browse in there. Isn't that a fabulous shadow on the Earth building? Thank you for including the picture of Times Square, oh how that takes me back. I love colour, all colours, but cannot wear as many as I'd like because some just don't love me. Yellow is one and some greens are definite no-no's. Popping across to take a look at Linda's site now. Have a fabulous weekend.

  3. Those are some fabulous shots of color! I LOVE that Earth Store sign; a brilliant color choice with the red door and black frame. I am somewhat in between you and Linda. I don't want to only have white walls, but things do need some neutrality. I adore jewel tones, but you have to have a very specific style of house to get away with that, in my opinion. So, I stick with those colors in my clothing choices. But I never wear any patterns!

  4. Great photos Ron, as always. I particularly like the Polar Bear and the abandoned building. :)

  5. Wow.

I'm thinking I woulda pulled up a piece of sidewalk to enjoy that light show. How amazing.....and to set it with water is just too cool!

Love Linda--and love the colours of her life as well as all of the colours you snagged. They're awesome and vibrant and they exude enthusiasm and joy. I LOVE that they painted the plywood red for those windows. Amazing what that little bit of colour does for an 'eyesore' of an abandoned building. It's very cool!
And that mural--had you not mentioned the window being painted, I'da went on thinking they'd put paint ON the window. LOL Excellently done. How gorgeous is that work!
Gotta love that 'Tangled Web' sign..and the cute polar bear. NOT so much about the tutus....LOL...but feel free to don one and put it on youtube! *laughing* You'll be deleting comments for the rest of your life! ;-)

Oh what a celebration of colour. Go figure I'm a bit like you when it comes to neutral colours in the home--but I have splashes of colour in wee spots for feasting my eyes on when I'm a bit drained from all the excitement life can dole out. Mostly sea colours--there's a calming sense that comes from those shockingly gorgeous blues and greens.
*laughing* I gave up trying to 'balance' this personality! It just IS what it is! ;-)

    Joyous weekend to you, sir.
And thank you for crossing my path with Linda. She's a wondrous spirit, indeed!

  6. Love these photos, Ron. And thanks for the link to Linda's blog. I just checked it out and I think her work is fabulous.

Now that we're suffering through this hideous winter, I'm grateful for any kind of bright colors; they remind me of life! And what's up with the polar bear?!?

Have a bright and shiny weekend, buddy!

    Thank you :)

"As for Earth... Wow, I'd love to browse in there. Isn't that a fabulous shadow on the Earth building?"

OMG...you would LOVE that store because the inside looks exactly like you're OUTSIDE because of all the earthy and gardeny items he sells. He just opened that store last year, so I go in a say Hi anytime I'm in Chestnut Hill.

"Thank you for including the picture of Times Square, oh how that takes me back"

    Don't ya just LOVE NYC?

"I love colour, all colours, but cannot wear as many as I'd like because some just don't love me. Yellow is one and some greens are definite no-no's. "

I'm the same. I love color but cannot wear yellow or green/yellow because they just don't look good on me. Also...orange.

Thanks so much for stopping by, dear lady. Enjoy Linda's blog and have a fabulous weekend!

    Thanks, buddy :)

So glad to hear you checked out Linda's blog. She's a delightful and special human being. I've known her now for almost as long as I've had this blog.

    Amen!

"And what's up with the polar bear?!?"

HAHAHHAHAAHAHA! I know, can you BELIEVE that? A polar bear just standing on the sidewalk!

  13. Ron, it was such a delight to view these photos today because it's so grey and ugly outside. That photo of the rug is so beautiful. The colors are amazing! Also, the photo of the yard store is so cleverly done. You had me cracking up about the pink tutu. And when I clicked on the link and saw the photo of the hippopotamus, I busted out laughing! The hippopotamus's are my favorite part of Fantasia.

I enjoy wearing color very much but my apartment is more like yours. I can't live everyday with bright colors around me.

    Have a wonderful weekend, Ron.

"That photo of the rug is so beautiful. The colors are amazing!"

It's funny because when I saw that rug, the colors reminded me of Linda so much, that I just had to take a snap shot.

" And when I clicked on the link and saw the photo of the hippopotamus, I busted out laughing! The hippopotamus's are my favorite part of Fantasia."

I tried to leave a comment but Wordpress seemed reluctant to accept it. Perhaps you would tell her how much I enjoyed visiting her blog.

  20. At first I thought Linda's blog was "A country woman with no pants." Lord knows, that would have been a different sort of blog entirely. Still quite colorful, I'd imagine.

I too love colors. It's why my living room is painted orange. It looks so much better than boring old white!

I'm the same way....I LOVE black. I've had to wear black for my job for the past 26 years, so I've learned to really appreciate the color. I like it because it's classic and is appropriate for any occasion. I do love the color blue too.

Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!

  23. I love colour too Ron! When I was a teenager, it was either all black or camo. At some point I turned around though and found purple, blue and even PINK in my wardrobe! Good to embrace the vibrations that come with the spectrum. Makes one feel alive!

  24. Hey there Katherine~

"Good to embrace the vibrations that come with the spectrum. Makes one feel alive!"

Love the way you said that!!! Yes.....it certainly does!

When I was a kid, I worn nothing but earth tones. However, later in life I had a "Color Me Beautiful" session done and was told that BLUE is a color I should wear more often. And they were right!

  25. Wonderful images on a gray icy day. I completely love the building with all the red doors.

I went thorugh a long phase of buying mostly black and gray clothes. I still like its sophistication but the older I get (there's that OLD thing, again) the more washed-out I look in black. So now I wear black in the form of skirts and pants, but go with colors on top. I especially like jewel tones and lots of variants of blues and greens. I am not a big fan of orange and yellow, and I look like a dead person in tan. Seriously.

But in my house, I like the colors of nature - deeper reds, greens, browns/sand. Most of my walls are painted in rich warm amber-y colors. It's restful and cozy. My home looks more autumnal, I think, because the warm colors warm me up in the colder months. Cooler colors in a house depress me in the winter.

" I especially like jewel tones and lots of variants of blues and greens. I am not a big fan of orange and yellow, and I look like a dead person in tan. Seriously."

Ditto for me too. Orange and yellow, as much as I like the colors, don't look good on me - especially if they're pale tones. LOVE blue and greens too!!!!!

"in my house, I like the colors of nature - deeper reds, greens, browns/sand. Most of my walls are painted in rich warm amber-y colors. It's restful and cozy. Sounds wonderful! And very similar to the colors in my home - the colors of nature. For some reason, those tones seem to calm me and feel peaceful.

  35. These are really great photos, Ron! And you most certainly did capture some bright and beautiful colors. That mural is astounding. Love the detail of the roof because it really does look like shingling. And the one of the abandoned building is super cool because even though its abandoned, the red color makes the building come alive. I love the rusty metal along the edges.

The tutu bit made me bust up!

I will head over to your friends blog and check it out.

I love how the artist even painting in shadows, so that it appeared three-dimensional. The abandoned building is one of my own personal favorites because the building is so RAW looking!

Oooh! I do love the mural. The tree is stunning. And that window isn't real??? You could've fooled me!!

It's interesting that you talk about not being able to wear strong colours or be around strong colours because they're over-stimulating. Maybe that's why - after decades of muted shades - I've tuned into strong, bright colours in recent years. Maybe it coincided with me getting fibromyalgia and myxoedema and it's my subconscious trying to bring me some energy?

PS - the polar bear makes me smile!

  38. Hellooooooooo Jay~

"Maybe that's why - after decades of muted shades - I've tuned into strong, bright colours in recent years. Maybe it coincided with me getting fibromyalgia and myxoedema and it's my subconscious trying to bring me some energy?"

Yes, exactly! Color is very powerful in that it can really affect how we feel. Color contains "energy" therefore I think it can either uplift us or calm us, or even depress us. I truly believe in the power of color. And being Libra's we're very sensitive to energies.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my Libra friend! Have a glorious weekend!

  39. Really love this, Ron. I need color today. It's been so cold and drab and I'm writing this while it's still dark and depressing outside. You're like my husband. The most color he wears is dark blue T-shirt and maybe a colored baseball cap, if it's feeling it. Me? I love color -- on me and around me! These are great shots. I love the polar bear. There's a spectacularly-colored mule sculpture in the library where I work. I'll try to remember to take a picture next week to share with you. I love seeing him for his color, but also because mule in a library.

  40. Hey Ronnie! I love this post! This really helps get out of the cold dismal depression winter is surrounding us with and gives us an opportunity to embrace the color all around us! I especially love the polar bear picture you shared! I saw a mural on a building on the way to work the other day that these colorful photos reminded me of. Maybe I shall snap a pic and send one your way to add to your colorful collection?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hey Shae~

Thank you :) I know what you mean because for the past few days it's been very gray and dismal - we actually got SNOW yesterday, so I went out and took a few photos. Today, however, it's sunny and bright, but still very cold. I actually don't mind the cold, though. I'd rather be cold than hot.

Isn't the polar bear cute? I still have no idea why he was out there, but I think it might be a piece of art someone created.

"I saw a mural on a building on the way to work the other day that these colorful photos reminded me of. Maybe I shall snap a pic and send one your way to add to your colorful collection?"

  43. Well, there's nothing drab about you today! You have successfully changed into a purveyor of color! This is a great post and you have presented us with a series of superb photographs of your city. It's been a long time since I've been in Philly (I think I told you we once lived in West Chester and I worked in Germantown) but I don't remember the city being so colorful.

Thanks for your kind comment. We moved out of a 55+ community into a "new" house in Ocala which we love! But it was a lot of work (especially at our ages!).

Hope to get back to regular blogging soon.

    Hey there Lowell!!!!

Great to see ya, bud!!!! I was so happy to see that you had posted the other day because it had been so long, I was worried you stopped blogging.

"We moved out of a 55+ community into a "new" house in Ocala which we love! But it was a lot of work (especially at our ages!)."

OMG...and bet it was a lot of work. Moving is such a hassle, isn't? But it's great to hear that you LOVE your house in Ocala. I love that area of Florida!

" It's been a long time since I've been in Philly (I think I told you we once lived in West Chester and I worked in Germantown) but I don't remember the city being so colorful."

Yes, I do remember you telling me that and I thought it was so cool that you lived here at one time. These photos were primarily taken in Chestnut Hill, which is a very artsy and colorful little town on the outskirts of Philly. Germantown, however, is not so much. My mother was from Germantown and it so depressed her to see it NOW compared to how it was when she was a kid, because Germantown used to be very beautiful. Yet, that's how Philadelphia is, some parts are kept up and then other parts have been left to deteriorate.

Thanks so much for stopping by, buddy. Congratulations on your new home. The best to you!

  45. I do believe that colour effects us, most definitely. That's why they paint hospital wards the colour they do (for relaxation) Our home is decorated in fairly neutral colours, but we have the vibrant colours in our paintings, hanging everywhere. I would say that you have neutral colours around you because of your hectic job. You need to come home and wind down.

I wear bright colours all the time. If I wear black it's always with the addition of a bright colour. I have a sister who is the most negative person I have ever known. She sees the bad in everything. I have never seen her in anything other than black, grey or dark brown - even down to her legs. It goes with her personality. You, on the other hand, suit dark colours and certainly have enough of a bubbly personality to carry dark clothing off without it making you a negative person.

There was a discussion on our TV recently, where the psychologist was saying that people who suffer with depression should wear bright colours to help them.

  46. Hey there Babs~

" I do believe that colour effects us, most definitely. That's why they paint hospital wards the colour they do (for relaxation).'

You are absolutely right. And I think I actually read that somewhere about hospital wards.

" I would say that you have neutral colours around you because of your hectic job. You need to come home and wind down."

Exactly. You are SO spot on! My home I like in very neutral colors; nothing jumping out at me. Also, I enjoy a lot of open window space and not a lot clutter in my apartment. I prefer off-white or cream colored walls. My taste in home design is very "asian" - clean, simple and almost subliminal.

" I have a sister who is the most negative person I have ever known. She sees the bad in everything. I have never seen her in anything other than black, grey or dark brown - even down to her legs. It goes with her personality."

I have to tell you that I used to work with a girl like that. She always wore black and had a very negative energy about her.

I enjoy wearing the color black in my clothing because primarily it's simple and kinda classic.

"There was a discussion on our TV recently, where the psychologist was saying that people who suffer with depression should wear bright colours to help them."

    Yes...I TOTALLY believe that.

Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by an sharing your thoughts and feelings on this post, Babs! REALLY enjoyed it!

    Have a super weekend!

    X to you and Mo!

  47. Hey V Girl~

"i think we are naturally drawn to color most of the time - though like you my wardrobe is dark."

Isn't that something? You're right, I do love and appreciate color, however, I like solid, darker colors (such as black ) to wear.

" i love color. being able to see is such a beautiful gift. sometimes i look at things in color and i'm moved by its beauty."

    Meeeeeeeeeeeee too!

Yet, I also see the beauty in just black and white, especially photography, because there is something so beautifully raw about. Also, in black and white photography the shadows and highlights of an image are more pronounced. That's one of the reasons why I adore black and white films.

"seriously you have to take me around town philly, yeah the south side,i ain't scurred so i can see these fabulous buildings you captured."

Absolutely, it would be my pleasure to take you around Philly. It's an awesome city to photograph!

Thanks for stopping by, girl! Hope you're enjoying a wonderful weekend!

  48. Funny I'm reading this post now, as I sit here wearing *mostly* all black. Shirt, pants, socks and shoes! However, I have blingy crystal jewelry on and a big scarf that has some orange/red on it. Sometimes I really like black, but mostly in clothing. Supposedly, it's more slimming, although I'm not really sure that's true. I still FEEL FAT! haha! You know how much I LOVE COLOR! The days of the royal purple living room ceiling with lavender walls are gone, but our house still has other bold or dark colors. Maybe it's too much for my big, colorful personality. I do feel a bit too scattered at times, but I'm drawn to many colors and seem to surround myself with them.
Terrific photos, as always. I especially like the first one. Wow, so creative. So many of the murals in Philadelphia are cool to look at.
Love that rug! And the abandoned building photo, too!

  49. Our condo in Boston is painted in soothing shades of neutral, with warm brown leather furniture and decorated with a bhudda head. I need this zen oasis in the city. In Maine we used the color of sea glass shades through out and it makes my heart sing every time we go there. Color is powerful and healing.

  50. Hey there Bill~

You and Paul sound exactly like me!

I too need the "Zen Oasis" in the city as well because it's very calming. And funny you mentioned Buddha, because I have Buddha statues all over my apartment!!!

" In Maine we used the color of sea glass shades through out and it makes my heart sing every time we go there."

    OMG...that sounds faaaaaabulous!

    "Color is powerful and healing."

    It sure is!

Thanks so much for stopping by, bud. Hope you had grand weekend!

    X to you and Paul!

  51. Wow, what colorful photographs, Ron! I'm especially drawn to the one of the rug and the abandoned building. The mural is incredible. I wonder how long it took them to make that?

I'm like you, I prefer to live around more neutral and natural colors. I like the color red, but I couldn't stand living with it day after day. My favorite color to wear is either blue or green. I like those colors and for some reason people will always compliment me whenever I wear them, so I guess they they're good colors for me. Yes, I do think color affects us each differently.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hey Ho Robert~

As soon as I saw the rug, I instantly thought of my friend Linda because not only how colorful it was, but also because the rug looks like something she would have in her home.

I can't even image how long it must have taken them to complete that mural, but isn't it awesome?

OMG...I like red too, but could NEVER have it around me all the time because it would drive me insane. It would be too much for me.

"I like those colors and for some reason people will always compliment me whenever I wear them, so I guess they they're good colors for me."

And I'm sure they look great on you too, because I think we're naturally drawn to the colors that suit us.

Thanks for stopping by, buddy. Hope you enjoyed yourself this weekend!

  53. Color is great, but when the wife wants me to paint the walls that's when I fall back on "But I like neutral white!" ;-) Heh...I'd do anything to not paint the walls!

Oddly enough, I'm more of a 'jeans and black t-shirt' kinda guy. Perhaps it's because I was raised by goths and alternative music during my formitable years?

"but when the wife wants me to paint the walls that's when I fall back on "But I like neutral white!" ;-) Heh...I'd do anything to not paint the walls!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm afraid I'd say the same thing! Plus, I actually like neutral white walls.

"Oddly enough, I'm more of a 'jeans and black t-shirt' kinda guy."

Meeeeeeeeee too! That is my favorite thing to wear. Mainly a black t-shirt, but sometimes blue.

And hey, you know me....I am totally GOTH!

Thanks for stopping by, buddy. Hope you had a grrrreat weekend!

X to you, Karin, and Mr. Tyler!

  55. I had to laugh at you wearing black. I wore LOTS of black when I was younger. Like "bar hopping" young. Black leggins, a tank top and a black men's tux jacket usually..... one day I walked through the room, about to leave, and my dad said, "You look like you are going to a punk rocker's funeral." HA HA!

I LOVE your idea for a post... to think "I am sharing pictures that represent COLOR..." FANTASTIC. My favorite is the Earth one... and the windows. WOW!

HAHAHAHAHHAAH! OMG...how FUNNY! I always wonder what the people in my laundry room think when they see me folding and hanging my clothes which are ALL black. They must think I work for a funeral home!

Glad you enjoy this color post, my friend. I had so much fun putting it together and celebrating COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Hope you had a super weekend!

  57. Hi Ronnie,

I am getting back on track with my blog reading! I have got off on a tagent since the new year but, it is happyily inspired.
How wonderful to feature your friend's artwork. I took a peek and I do love the softness and how the colors blend so beautifully :).

Calgon take me away! I could spend hours just walking in Philly so, I am a goner in Chestnut Hill. I so enjoyed.
Yes, you are a basic black sort of dude. You would feel right at home in Paris. Maybe you don't have to override yourself "tutti frutti style" but choose a darker colored hue for a change. I don't know like maybe choose a Navy blue or Bordeaux hues as a change to black now & then. It is classy but not "too much".
I don't know why but I have got into grey this winter. I guess that now with the eye makeup I can pull it off better. Grey feels warm & cozy...
Take care & my love to Philly.

  58. Hiya Barb~

Oh, now worries, my friend. Please feel free to stop by whenever you wish. That's why I like to post with days between, so that people can stop by to comment at their leisure.

"How wonderful to feature your friend's artwork. I took a peek and I do love the softness and how the colors blend so beautifully :)."

So glad to hear you stopped by Linda's blog. Isn't her artwork faaaaabulous? Soft, but bold!

I love the Chestnut Hill area. In fact, at one time I actually considered moving there because it's so artsy and quaint, yet still close enough to Center City.

Yes, other than black, I will sometimes wear blue. But it has to be a bright or royal blue because pastel colors looks dreadful on me because I'm pale skinned.

"I don't know why but I have got into grey this winter. I guess that now with the eye makeup I can pull it off better. Grey feels warm & cozy.."

    I LOVE the grey!

Thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have a wonderful week!

Much X to you and D!

  59. Ron, you are all the colors of the rainbow wrapped up into a bright package. That's why you don't need to wear anything but black and white if you don't want to.

Love the photos. I want to go to that restaurant Cake! Looks wonderful.

  60. Hey there Jen~

Aw...thank you for your sweet words, girl :)

"I want to go to that restaurant Cake! Looks wonderful."

Doesn't that Cake look wonderful? It's right off Germantown Ave in Chestnut Hill. I've never actually eaten there, but the next time you're in Philly, we MUST go!

Thanks for stopping by, Jen! Hope you had a super weekend!

  61. Hiya Mary!

    OMG...that's toooooooooo funny!!!!

"Sometimes I really like black, but mostly in clothing."

Me too. I love black, but I don't think I could stand looking at all black in my apartment because it would be too draining to look at constantly, plus my apartment is very small and dark colors would make it appear smaller.

"You know how much I LOVE COLOR! The days of the royal purple living room ceiling with lavender walls are gone, but our house still has other bold or dark colors"

Yup...I do know how MUCH you LOVE color and I think that's wonderful! And I think because you're just naturally drawn to them, that must mean they're good for you!

"I especially like the first one. Wow, so creative. So many of the murals in Philadelphia are cool to look at."

Philly has some of the most awesome murals, don't they? And I love how they're scattered around the city like works of art!

Thanks so much for stopping by, neighbor! Hope you had wonderful weekend! I was outside most of the weekend, enjoying this COLD weather. However, yesterday it was so cold that my jaw froze - HA!

" Weird! Now I'm worried I've missed out on lots of conversations since I got that darned ipad!"

No, I honestly don't think it's your iPad, because I did some investigation over at Disqus yesterday and discovered that Blogger doesn't support Disqus's mobile widget, so I may have to change something in the code to enable it. I sent Disqus a support ticket to find out how I can do that, so I'm just waiting for a reply.

Sorry for the inconvenience, my friend. But hopefully, I will be able to correct this. And THANK YOU for letting me know.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

  64. i think we are naturally drawn to color most of the time - though like you my wardrobe is dark. however when it comes to photography, i love color. being able to see is such a beautiful gift. sometimes i look at things in color and i'm moved by its beauty. i'm trying to "see" in black and white more when it comes to photography. why i'm not sure.

seriously you have to take me around town philly, yeah the south side,i ain't scurred so i can see these fabulous buildings you captured. love the building with the red windows, the broken panes. just beautiful!

  66. Hey Valerie....

I'm sooooooooo glad you visited Linda's blog. Aren't the colors faaaaaaaabulous????

"I loved the way they blended whilst keeping their own individuality."

Exactly! And she uses all types of paint. I especially love her watercolors because I know how challenging watercolors can be to work with.

"I tried to leave a comment but Wordpress seemed reluctant to accept it. Perhaps you would tell her how much I enjoyed visiting her blog."

Oh, now that's strange, because usually WP is really good about leaving comments, without any reluctance. Perhaps, they're having technical issues today. Anyway, yes...I will tell her what you said. In fact, she'll read it herself when she stops by today.

Bwhahahahahahahahaha! Mark, that made me HOWL!!!!!

And yes, that would have been a TOTALLY different sort of blog entirely.

"I too love colors. It's why my living room is painted orange."

    You GO, boy!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by, buddy. Have a super-duper weekend!

  70. But I never wear any patterns

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hiya Bijoux~

    Thank you :)

"I LOVE that Earth Store sign; a brilliant color choice with the red door and black frame."

Exactly...that's what I thought too. The chartreuse and red just POP against the black. And you would love that store because he's got such great stuff. His feeling is that we should bring the outdoors INdoors.

"I am somewhat in between you and Linda. I don't want to only have white walls, but things do need some neutrality. I adore jewel tones, but you have to have a very specific style of house to get away with that, in my opinion."

    Yup, your right!

"So, I stick with those colors in my clothing choices. But I never wear any patterns"

    I'm not a pattern-person either. I prefer sold colors.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Bijoux. Have a fantabulous weekend!

"I'm thinking I woulda pulled up a piece of sidewalk to enjoy that light show. How amazing.....and to set it with water is just too cool!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hey, if you ever come to Philly...you and I will do that!!!!

"Love Linda--and love the colours of her life..."

Doesn't Linda add such beautiful color to this world? She always reminds me just how powerful color can be.

" I LOVE that they painted the plywood red for those windows."

Isn't that the coolest mural? And I love the three-dimensional effect the artist did to make it look like a real building.

"Gotta love that 'Tangled Web' sign."

That sign is sooooooo cleverly done because the knitting yard moves around the whole image.

" NOT so much about the tutus....LOL...but feel free to don one and put it on youtube! *laughing* You'll be deleting comments for the rest of your life! ;-)"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG...I could just imagine the COMMENTS!!!

"Mostly sea colours--there's a calming sense that comes from those shockingly gorgeous blues and greens."

Me too. If I do use color, it's usually blue or green. I love those colors.

    "She's a wondrous spirit, indeed!"

    Yes....indeed she is!

Thanks oodles for stopping by, dear lady. Have an excellent weekend!

I can't believe that building is abandoned! It's simply adorable. Chic, perhaps is the word?? I can imagine that being a great apartment complex. Maybe full of lofts.

"Earth" looks like a shop I'd LOVE to shop or at least spend my time browsing!

You have the most inspiring and interesting photos. That mural is amazing! WOW!

    Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes, that area of town is called Old City and it's FULL of lofts. It kinda reminds me of a small SOHO in NYC!

You would love browsing in Earth! He only just opened that store about a year ago and it's doing very well.

  76. Hey Meleah~

And do you know why? Because we BOTH Libra's!!!!!! Libra's are notorious for having 'high energy', so the calmer tones balance us.
